                Rejoice — God has risen

                    Let our souls be filled with light
                        not darkness

                    Oh God I sing of Your goodness
                    I fear not for I know You are near

                All glory and honor be Yours, oh God —
                    God is the Alpha and the Omega
                    He is holy
                    He has been wounded for our sins
                    His wounds are glorified

                I am not afraid
                I walk in His light
                I bathe in His goodness
                I am following Him in His steps
                Seeking holiness —
                Seeking to please the Father

                I eat Jesus' Body, I drink His Blood
                I am given the Bread of Life

                Oh what is life —
                Life for me is to live in Him
                He is one with me
                He is my rear guard
                He is my fore guard

                My heart is overjoyed to be always with Him
                To ponder His mysteries
                To be refreshed at the table of the Lord

                Seek not the things that are for your glory
                Seek only the blessing of the Lord
                Live to please Him

                Feast at His table and be refreshed

                A man went in search of treasure
                and when he left he packed for a long journey
                When he had spent many days and nights
                In his search he became weary
                His defenses were down
                His once driven attitude —
                Confident of his victory —
                Began to turn sour
                His heart sunk in his chest
                He sat on a stump
                An old log became his chair
                One tear turned into many for him
                He said
                "Oh that I was home in a warm
                bed"

                I long for my friends
                I wanted to have a victory
                Now here I am — penniless
                Among squirrels and hungry
                So hungry I fear my health

                Soon he became so distraught —
                So weary, hungry and worn —
                He laid down shouting —
                Where am I to go
                I am lost
                I am without reinforcements
                I was so sure of myself

                He fell into a deep sleep
                By his once little chair stump
                His hair was matted
                Leaves hung from his head
                He didn't care
                He was, he felt, defeated

                An angel appeared in his dream
                He saw white, wings
                He saw light
                He remembered about God
                He remembered his rosary
                He remembered his grandma's house —
                Pictures of Jesus

                All he saw in his dream was light
                He felt peace for the first time in a long time
                He knew he had tried the corporate race
                He had tried a wife he divorced
                His children barely saw him
                He had gone to school many years
                Receiving a doctorate in his field

                Now his friends became the squirrels
                Happy eating a little nut
                They were not screaming at him

                Now look at the spiritual life
                It was hard when we searched for the one
                    person that would fill us here below (we thought) —
                    it can be a life long search

                But never can we find the perfect friend —
                    Sooner or later something may happen
                    and we see they are not perfect —
                    even though we love them — there
                    is a limit to their love
                    a limit to their purity
                    a limit to their knowledge

                And we may scream to them
                How can you do this —
                You imperfect person —
                When I wanted perfection —
                You were what you are — IMPERFECT

                And so then you said
                Oh unforgivable
                Or forgivable
                If it was unforgivable the relationship ends

                If it is forgivable — it may continue
                    with wounds — that can be opened
                    up again and again and
                    a relationship can become —
                    enduring like a cancer

                Now what lesson does God teach us in
                    allowing us to find the imperfections
                    of this life here below

                He can teach us hard lessons —
                Like the man so eager he had to eat nuts
                    next to a squirrel before he realized
                    his visions of grandeur could
                    not be filled by things on this
                    earth

                Somewhere down the line — to have true
                    peace — happiness and love —
                    we have to go back —
                    back — before
                    the day we laid down next to
                    squirrels and ask

                In the beginning —
                    And we see
                    God had no beginning and end
                    And we were created
                    put here, because God wanted us created
                And in the design —
                He created us with a desire that can
                    be filled only by Him

                So we can seek — all the way to laying
                    down with the squirrels
                    Be stripped of one of our false
                        whims after the other

                Saying, maybe, I put God first, but
                    not really —
                    maybe secretly in our heart of hearts
                    doing most things for our own
                    glory
                    doing this and that for recognition by
                        others
                    And we may even fool ourselves
                        for a lifetime —
                    saying oh — really — I am holy —
                        I love God and
                        really deeply do many things so
                        we are loved

                Well what is love anyway —
                    I can meditate on these sorrowful
                        mysteries  (January 13, 1995 click)
                        and I know real love

                    God did not have to create me
                        God first loved us
                        God wanted me in existence
                        God wants me to love Him
                        God made me with a desire
                            that can only be satisfied
                            by loving Him —

                So we look at this

                  As Fr. Pasquini says

                    WOUNDED HUMAN NATURE                            Being in the image of God
                        ACTED OUT                                                         ACTING OUT

                        selfishness                     <———————>            other focused

                        rebellion                        <———————>             holiness

                        seeing more through       <———————>              seeing more purely
                          our tainted,                                                               (for pure vision)
                          jealous, envious,
                          prideful ... vision

                        dominance                     <———————>              seeking God's will
                          for my honor and                                                        respecting structure
                            glory                                                                         

Genesis Chapter 3

Now, the snake was the most subtle of all the wild animals that Yahweh God had made. It asked the woman, 'Did God really say you were not to eat from any of the trees in the garden?' The woman answered the snake, 'We may eat the fruit of the trees in the garden. But of the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden God said, "You must not eat it, nor touch it, under pain of death." ' Then the snake said to the woman, 'No! You will not die! God knows in fact that the day you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like gods, knowing good from evil.' The woman saw that the tree was good to eat and pleasing to the eye, and that it was enticing for the wisdom that it could give. So she took some of its fruit and ate it. She also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened and they realised that they were naked. So they sewed fig-leaves together to make themselves loin-cloths.

The man and his wife heard the sound of Yahweh God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from Yahweh God among the trees of the garden. But Yahweh God called to the man. 'Where are you?' he asked. 'I heard the sound of you in the garden,' he replied. 'I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid.' 'Who told you that you were naked?' he asked. 'Have you been eating from the tree I forbade you to eat?' The man replied, 'It was the woman you put with me; she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.' Then Yahweh God said to the woman, 'Why did you do that?' The woman replied, 'The snake tempted me and I ate.'

Then Yahweh God said to the snake, 'Because you have done this,

    Accursed be you
    of all animals wild and tame!
    On your belly you will go
    and on dust you will feed
    as long as you live.
    I shall put enmity
    between you and the woman,
    and between your offspring and hers;
    it will bruise your head
    and you will strike its heel.'

    To the woman he said:

    I shall give you intense pain
        in childbearing,
    you will give birth to your children
        in pain.
    Your yearning will be for your husband,
    and he will dominate you.

To the man he said, 'Because you listened to the voice of your wife and ate from the tree of which I had forbidden you to eat,

    Accursed be the soil because of you!
    Painfully will you get your food from it
    as long as you live.
    It will yield you brambles and thistles,
    as you eat the produce of the land.
    By the sweat of your face
    will you earn you food,
    until you return to the ground,
    as you were taken from it.
    For dust you are
    and to dust you shall return.

The man named his wife 'Eve' because she was the mother of all those who live. Yahweh God made tunics of skins for the man and his wife and clothed them. Then Yahweh God said, 'Now that the man has become like one of us in knowing good from evil, he must not be allowed to reach out his hand and pick from the tree of life too, and eat and live for ever!' So Yahweh God expelled him from the garden of Eden, to till the soil from which he had been taken. He banished the man, and in front of the garden of Eden he posted the great winged creatures and the fiery flashing sword, to guard the way to the tree of life.

                A little old man radiated —
                    he was old but happy
                    he was peaceful
                    he was loving —
                    he saw through eyes that were not
                        turned inward focusing on
                        himself — whining and whining

                But you can say —
                    I feel this way —
                    I want to whine today

                Look at Mary and the seven sorrows
                    do you see
                    Well when Mary had to flee into Egypt
                        she was whining at Joseph and
                        he was complaining too
                    How about blaming someone

                I know this —
                The more I try to do for Jesus —
                    the more my wounded ways can get in
                        my way
                    And for me it is a battle

                For me I know Jesus has given me the
                    Shepherds of Christ way of life
                    I need the Mass daily
                    So much grace is given for me at Mass
                        to be like God wants
                    The more I give myself to Jesus in this
                        work
                    The more clearly I see things through
                        pain and suffering
                    The more I know that I live for
                        the souls —
                    But the more I am deeply saturated
                        with His life - the more every aspect of life
                    I see with clearer vision

                For me listening to the Bible study helped me
                    know things about ourselves in an
                    orderly fashion that can help me understand
                    my wounded human nature and know
                    how to talk about it to others so we
                    can forgive one another, love one another
                    and grow in greater holiness — to do this work
                    in praying and supporting and loving —
                    our priests, the Church and the world

                On one hand I see the wounded human nature
                And on the other hand the gift of baptism —
                    the gift of the Church —
                The gift of how He saturates me in His grace
                    through the sacraments —
                    especially the Eucharist and Penance —
                    I spend my time being pals with God —
                    I love Him so much
                    I seek insight into the Divine Mysteries

                But I cannot overlook the concupiscence of
                    the flesh —
                There is a wounded human nature to be always
                    dealing with in myself and others so
                I seek to be more and more saturated with His
                    life because
                I want this commission given to me in baptism
                I want to spread the good news
                I deeply long to live more as a member of the
                    body of Christ
                I am living as God intended me to be
                I beg God for His mercy and grace for me and the world
                I WANT IT
                I KNOW what it is to be saturated with His
                    grace from adoration and the Mass and
                    praying my Infant of Prague Novena
                    during the day

                I want this Newsletter and Prayer Chapters and
                    spreading the Consecration to the 2 Hearts as
                    Mary asked for at Fatima

                St. Margaret Mary told us of the Promises of the
                    Sacred Heart

                The Shepherds of Christ Movement is a movement begun at the
                    end of the century —

                    A movement of hope

                I need my morning offering — it is helping
                    me to live more deeply as a member of
                    the body of Christ
                    It is helping to bring down grace for the
                    world as I live as a member of the
                    body of Christ

                The Shepherds of Christ way of life is
                    an aid to the person loving the
                    priests, the Church and the world and
                    wanting to be that soldier in the
                    world —
                    loving the precious souls God gave His life
                        for

                We are the creatures of God —
                He says He looks at the earth and it is little
                To us it is big
                God knows all things —
                We don't know what we will be absolutely
                    doing in 10 minutes

                Yes the rosaries Mary and Jesus gave me help me
                    focus on Him

                Yes there is great help for me, my children,
                    peace, the world, when I pray
                    my rosary and say my Shepherds of Christ Prayers

                Jesus wants us to say the Litany to Mary —
                    we give her love

                We need to make Them so important that we
                    have this deep loving relationship with
                    Them
                    Living Life is
                    more than searching for a treasure in
                        the woods
                    Living Life is
                    Living our life rooted in God
                    We are His creatures
                    He is the Creator

                A car is for driving us around
                    it doesn't really serve too good
                    as a refrigerator

                We are a child of God
                Created to love and serve Him and one another
                I don't want to get "stripped down" to
                    the squirrel stage —

                Listen and be taught
                Read the Blue Books
                Live this Prayer Life
                Be a soldier in Christ's army

                SHEPHERDS OF CHRIST

                Fr. Carter always said

                "Conquer BOREDOM

                        JOIN Shepherds of Christ"
               

                Be an Associate
                        Apostle of the Sacred Heart
                        Apostle of the Eucharistic Heart
                        Handmaid or Servant
                        Prayer Apostle

                And I saw Jesus in gold

                    He spread His arms open on
                        the cross and
                    I didn't hold my arms closed
                        any longer over my chest

                I dared to open my heart and
                    let Him heal me —
                    we trusted and loved each other
                    and trusted and loved Him
                    to do the work we do today

                We are docile,
                    humble and
                    loving and we are wounded and we
                    are forgiving so we can be deeply
                        ONE IN HIM

                Death has no power over Jesus
                    for on the 3rd day He rose
                    from the dead that we
                    could share in His life —
                    so we can have some day
                    life with Him forever —

                We are to be other focused —
                    Giving ourselves —
                    Jesus shed His Blood for His
                        precious souls
                    He wants us to give of ourselves
                        this day for the sake of souls —

                    "See Me hanging on the cross for
                        love of you"

                Sing:  I am the Bread of Life
