Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our president and leaders. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants. We pray for the upcoming election.

R. Do you feel the presence of the
Father, Son and Holy Spirit?

The Father, has a plan for us.
God wants this relationship with us.
We are here to grow in our intimacy
with God.
In this Lent we can spend time
alone with God and think of the
presence of the Father, Son and
Holy Spirit in our heart.

Jesus: Be alone with Me, close
your eyes, think of the presence of
God, All three Persons, dwelling in
your heart.

Meditate, empty your mind, think
only of the presence of God. Make
a spiritual communion, now.

Take time, be alone with Me.

Everyday during Lent, morning and
night, empty your mind, make a
spiritual communion, think of God's
presence with you, close your eyes,
be alone with Me.

This will help you to grow in God's
presence all day, the more you do
this, all thru Lent.

I went into the desert to pray for
40 days and be with My Father,
practice this every day during Lent.
Being alone with God. Knowing
My presence!!!!

Novena to St. Joseph, Patron and Father (2024)

Dear Saint Joseph,

I turn to you, you who cared and
protected the child Jesus and the
Virgin Mary.
You taught men and women, the
love of God by your example in life,
and by your faithfulness of living
your calling in greatest commitment
and love.

You loved Mary and Jesus with the
most gentle, bonds of love.

You showed us how you
lived in loving conformity to the
Heavenly Father's will.

You guided Jesus and Mary's precious
lives with the Holy Spirit, Spouse of
the Virgin Mother of God.

Protect us and our family this day and
every day of our lives, like
you did the Holy Family of Nazareth.
We seek your powerful intercession.

How intimately you knew and loved
Jesus and Mary. You were so close to
them. You showed us love.

Your heart was pure and gentle and
yet you were strong in being their
manly protector on earth, intercede
for us to depend more and more on
God for all our needs, for when we
are weak we are strong in God.

St. Joseph please intercede for a
peaceful and holy death for us and
our sick loved ones.
Amen.

St. Joseph help us now in this nine
day novena to you.

Prayer for Sick and Caregivers at Home

R. Dear God,
I pray Heavenly Father with all my heart,
in the Name of Jesus, united to the Holy
Sacrifice of the Mass, in the Holy Spirit,
with all the angels and saints and souls
in purgatory, through the powerful
intercession of our Lady of Clearwater
to come to my aid now.

My loved one is very sick and he (she)
needs your help, God.
Outpour Your grace for me in this time
of need to have patience and wisdom to
deal with this now.

I give this sickness up to You, my God.
Please help me in dealing with this and
helping them in doing the right thing
and dealing with this.

I surrender this problem to You, my
Divine God.

Please send Your angels to help me.
Spread us all with the Precious Blood of
Jesus, cast the devil into the fires of hell,
dear Holy Spirit come to my aid.

I consecrate my home, ourselves to the
Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate
Heart of Mary, Thank You.
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus I place my
trust in Thee.
Child Jesus of Good Health, help us.
St. Joseph, Patron of a Holy Death
come to our aid.

R. After all Jesus did for them, teaching
them, coming to earth, taking flesh, they
whipped Him, crowned Him with thorns,
gave Him a heavy cross laden with the
sins of the world and hung Him on a
cross to His death.

It says something like this in the scriptures,
"if the world hates you, they hated Me first."

Jesus told me, "Nobody was listening". He
appeared to me in a vision, December 5, 1996
after Mary appeared to me on the 5ths for
two and one half years and then Mary
appeared in Clearwater, December 17, 1996,
12 days later in rainbow color.

“Nobody is listening” Jesus said at the
rosary on the 5th that night at my house.
Jesus, as He appeared on the cross was a
full body of a man, in so much agony,
dying, and His mouth kept opening wide
when I thought He could not move,
because He was dying. No words did I
hear then. I cried for 3 days.

He kept opening His mouth on the crucifix
in Holy Cross-Immaculata.

That night at the 5th rosary at my house,
Jesus said in the 5th rosary, He appeared
like this because "Nobody was listening."

R. Mary appeared in Clearwater 12 days later.

December 19, 1996 

Mary: My dear children, I give to you, my Son, Jesus, born in a stable in Bethlehem on Christmas morn. He is the Almighty God, the Light of the World.

    I appear to you, my children, on a (former) bank in Florida. You have made money your god! Do you know how cold are your hearts? You turn away from my Son, Jesus, for your money. Your money is your god.

    I am Mary, your Mother. I do not appear as I once appeared to you. I am asking you today to circulate my message given on a tape on the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, December 12, 1996. Please circulate this tape now. Give it to as many people as you can. I am Mary, your Mother. Please circulate my Rosary Book.

R. That was 26 years ago.

Then Mary appeared in Clearwater on the 5ths.
We got the building.
Someone knocked off her image head 20 years ago.
Mary appeared 7 years on the building.

Sorrowful Mysteries

The Agony in the Garden

1. Luke 22: 39-46

The Mount of Olives

He then left to make his way as usual to the Mount of Olives, with the disciples following. When he reached the place he said to them, ‘Pray not to be put to the test.’

    Then he withdrew from them, about a stone’s throw away, and knelt down and prayed. ‘Father,’ he said, ‘if you are willing, take this cup away from me. Nevertheless, let your will be done, not mine.’ Then an angel appeared to him, coming from heaven to give him strength. In his anguish he prayed even more earnestly, and his sweat fell to the ground like great drops of blood. When he rose from prayer he went to the disciples and found them sleeping for sheer grief. And he said to them, ‘Why are you asleep? Get up and pray not to be put to the test.’

2. It was in the Garden of Eden that Eve
    said “yes” to Satan.
    Adam and Eve sinned and sin entered
    the world.
3. And Jesus sweat blood for the sin, in
    the Garden - in agony.
4. And Adam and Eve were given such
    gifts and they rebelled against God!!!
5. And Jesus sweat blood in the Garden
    for sin - in such Agony.
6. Sin is heavy, it is dark, it weighs us
    down.
7. And Jesus sweat blood in the Garden
    for sin - in Agony.
8. Oh God we are sorry for the sins of
    the human race.
9. Oh God thank You for the Church and
    the priest and the Mass and the sacraments.
    Oh God thank You for Your love and
    the sacraments!!!
10. God is love. God the Father created us
    in love and wants us eternally with Him
    in heaven.
    Sing: Eye Has Not Seen!

    And Jesus sweat blood in the Garden -
    in Agony.

The Scourging at the Pillar

1. Matthew 27: 24-26

Then Pilate saw that he was making no impression, that in fact a riot was imminent. So he took some water, washed his hands in front of the crowd and said, ‘I am innocent of this man’s blood. It is your concern.’ And the people, every one of them, shouted back, ‘Let his blood be on us and on our children!’ Then he released Barabbas for them. After having Jesus scourged he handed him over to be crucified.

2. And they whipped Jesus and tore His
    flesh and He withstood it for our sins.
3. And He bled at the pillar for our sins.
4. He was bound like a common criminal
    at the pillar. Bound, tied!!!
5. And He bled at the pillar for our sins.
6. Jesus could have stopped it all, He
    endured this, withstood it and He is
    God!!
7. And He bled at the pillar for our sins,
    Jesus, the Son of God.
8. Jesus was whipped by men, created by
    God, in love.
9. And He bled at the pillar for our sins.
10. Jesus was a bloody mess, from head
    to toe from their anger and He loved
    these men.

 

Jesus was Crowned with Thorns

1. Matthew 27: 27-31

Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus with them into the Praetorium and collected the whole cohort round him. And they stripped him and put a scarlet cloak round him, and having twisted some thorns into a crown they put this on his head and placed a reed in his right hand. To make fun of him they knelt to him saying, ‘Hail, king of the Jews!’ And they spat on him and took the reed and struck him on the head with it. And when they had finished making fun of him, they took off the cloak and dressed him in his own clothes and led him away to crucifixion.

2. Jesus: I am the way, the truth and the
    life. Life is in Me.
3. Jesus: These men pounded thorns in
    My head!!! Life is in Me.
4. Jesus: I am the King of Glory.
5. Jesus: My love for you is so great, I
    showed you My love.
6. Jesus: I am life.
7. Jesus: I am love.
8. Jesus: I love you, I love you, I love
    you, My precious soul.
9. Jesus: Follow Me.
10. Jesus: I am the light of life. I am God.
 

The Carrying of the Cross

1. Mark 15: 15-23

So Pilate, anxious to placate the crowd, released Barabbas for them and, after having Jesus scourged, he handed him over to be crucified. The soldiers led him away to the inner part of the palace, that is, the Praetorium, and called the whole cohort together. They dressed him up in purple, twisted some thorns into a crown and put it on him. And they began saluting him, 'Hail, king of the Jews!' They struck his head with a reed and spat on him; and they went down on their knees to do him homage. And when they had finished making fun of him, they took off the purple and dressed him in his own clothes. They led him out to crucify him.

They enlisted a passer-by, Simon of Cyrene, father of Alexander and Rufus, who was coming in from the country, to carry his cross. They brought Jesus to the place called Golgotha, which means the place of the skull. They offered him wine mixed with myrrh, but he refused it.

2. Jesus carried the heavy cross.
3. Walk with Him in the cross you carry
    today.
4. Think of Jesus, envision Jesus, see His
    sufferings as He carried it. See His Blood.
5. See Jesus fall under the cross, envision
    His blood He shed for us.

6. Think of this... through Him, with Him
    and in Him...

7. Jesus fell three times.
8. Jesus endured the cross to the bitter end.
9. His legs gave out under Him.
    His body could not take it, He fell, He
    fell, He fell again.
    His body gave in under the cross.
10. Simon of Cyrene had to help Him.
    Jesus could not move.

    Mary stood by and watched her Son go
    through all this.

 

The Crucifixion

1. Luke 23: 32-47

Now they were also leading out two others, criminals, to be executed with him. When they reached the place called The Skull, there they crucified him and the two criminals, one on his right, the other on his left. Jesus said, 'Father, forgive them; they do not know what they are doing.' Then they cast lots to share out his clothing.

The people stayed there watching.  As for the leaders, they jeered at him with the words, 'He saved others, let him save himself if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen One.'  The soldiers mocked him too, coming up to him, offering him vinegar, and saying, 'If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself.'  Above him there was an inscription: 'This is the King of the Jews'.

One of the criminals hanging there abused him: 'Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us as well.'  But the other spoke up and rebuked him.  'Have you no fear of God at all?' he said.  'You got the same sentence as he did, but in our case we deserved it: we are paying for what we did.  But this man has done nothing wrong.'  Then he said, 'Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.'  He answered him, 'In truth I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.'

The veil of the Sanctuary was torn right down the middle. Jesus cried out in a loud voice saying, 'Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.' With these words he breathed his last. When the centurion saw what had taken place, he gave praise to God and said, 'Truly, this was an upright man.'

2. The drama… the final curtain.
3. Jesus went to the hill of Calvary.
4. They stripped Him, they nailed Jesus
    to the cross.
    Jesus paid the price.
5. The Good Shepherd mounted the cross.
    The Good Shepherd laid down His life
    for His sheep.
6. Jesus appeared to me on the cross, His
    mouth moving.
    Jesus said “Nobody is listening.”
7. Today’s Gospel..."they hear My voice
    and follow Me".
    Do we listen to His voice?
    Do we follow Him
    Or is nobody listening?
8. Disciples of Jesus hear His voice and
    follow Him.
    Jesus said "Nobody is listening".
9. We are washed in the Blood of the Lamb.
    The Mass is the sacrifice of Calvary,
    sacramentally made present.

10. Mary’s Message from the Rosary of August 27, 1996

Mary:  I stood beneath the cross of my Son, and my Heart was in such pain for I saw Him before my eyes. I saw Him covered with blood. I saw Him die. My Heart, my children, my Heart to watch my Son, but my Heart, my Heart, how I suffered for my little children of the world that give in to this world and give up the love of my Son. O my little children of light, I give you this message. Carry this light into the darkness for your Mother Mary, for I stood beneath the cross and I cried. I cried for the little ones. I cried for the young ones, the ones that do not care and will lose their souls. How do I make you see for you will not listen to me? What can I do? I come. I appear. I beg. I plead. I give you these gifts from my Son, and you reject me. I do not deliver messages very often anymore for I have been ignored. The message is the same. You do not read the messages I have given to you. Please help me. Help the little children. I appear. I appear. I appear, and I am ignored. I stood beneath the cross, and I cried. I cried, and my Heart was in such anguish for my little children, for I am searching for them this day as I searched for the Child Jesus. Please, please help me. I cannot hold back the hand of my Son any longer. I am Mary, your Mother. I ask you to help my children. You are my children of light.

Mysteries of Light

The Baptism of Jesus

1. Matthew 3: 13-17

Then Jesus appeared: he came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptised by John. John tried to dissuade him, with the words, ‘It is I who need baptism from you, and yet you come to me!’ But Jesus replied, ‘Leave it like this for the time being; it is fitting that we should, in this way, do all that uprightness demands.’ Then John gave in to him. And when Jesus had been baptised he at once came up from the water, and suddenly the heavens opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming down on him. And suddenly there was a voice from heaven, ‘This is my Son, the Beloved; my favour rests on him.’ 

2. John prepared the way for Jesus.
3. God loves us so much.
4. God is love, look at the world, is it like
    Jesus.
5. Jesus showed me Himself dying on the
    cross in a vision, December 5, 1996,
    later that night Jesus said "Nobody is
    listening”, that was 26 years ago.
6. Life here on earth is very short, eternity
    goes on forever.
7. Jesus: Prepare your hearts, for the
    wedding of the Lamb.
8. Jesus: I come as a thief in the night.
9. Two thieves were crucified with Jesus,
    one was sorry, one was not.
10. Jesus: I am the Light of the world. He
    who follows Me, hears My voice, they
    will not ignore My voice. I am the Good
    Shepherd. I know My sheep and Mine
    know Me and they follow Me.

 

The Marriage at Cana

1. John 2: 1-10  

On the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee. The mother of Jesus was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited. And they ran out of wine, since the wine provided for the feast had all been used, and the mother of Jesus said to him, ‘They have no wine.’ Jesus said, ‘Woman, what do you want from me? My hour has not come yet.’ His mother said to the servants, ‘Do whatever he tells you.’  There were six stone water jars standing there, meant for the ablutions that are customary among the Jews: each could hold twenty or thirty gallons. Jesus said to the servants, ‘Fill the jars with water,’ and they filled them to the brim. Then he said to them, ‘Draw some out now and take it to the president of the feast.’ They did this; the president tasted the water, and it had turned into wine. Having no idea where it came from—though the servants who had drawn the water knew—the president of the feast called the bridegroom and said, ‘Everyone serves good wine first and the worse wine when the guests are well wined; but you have kept the best wine till now.’ 

2. Mary is the New Eve.
3. The old Eve sinned.
4. At the wedding of Cana Jesus changed
    water into wine.

5. Jesus said, ‘Woman, what do you want
    from me? My hour has not come yet.’ John 2:4

6. Mary has powerful intercession.
7. God the Father allowed Mary to appear in
    rainbow color in Florida.
8. Remember the covenant with Noah with
    regards to the rainbow.

9. Genesis 9: 8-17  

    God spoke as follows to Noah and his sons, ‘I am now establishing my covenant with you and with your descendants to come, and with every living creature that was with you: birds, cattle and every wild animal with you; everything that came out of the ark, every living thing on earth. And I shall maintain my covenant with you: that never again shall all living things be destroyed by the waters of a flood, nor shall there ever again be a flood to devastate the earth.’ 

    ‘And this’, God said, ‘is the sign of the covenant which I now make between myself and you and every living creature with you for all ages to come: I now set my bow in the clouds and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. When I gather the clouds over the earth and the bow appears in the clouds, I shall recall the covenant between myself and you and every living creature, in a word all living things, and never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all living things. When the bow is in the clouds I shall see it and call to mind the eternal covenant between God and every living creature on earth, that is, all living things.’ 

    ‘That’, God told Noah, ‘is the sign of the covenant I have established between myself and all living things on earth.’
 

10. He flooded the earth----
    Mary appeared in rainbow color in
    CLEAR-WATER.

 

Building the Kingdom of God

1. Matthew 5: 3-12

How blessed are the poor in spirit:
the kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
Blessed are the gentle:
they shall have the earth as inheritance.
Blessed are those who mourn:
they shall be comforted.
Blessed are those
   who hunger and thirst for uprightness:
they shall have their fill.
Blessed are the merciful:
they shall have mercy shown them.
Blessed are the pure in heart:
they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers:
they shall be recognised
   as children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted
   in the cause of uprightness:
the kingdom of Heaven is theirs.

Blessed are you when people abuse you and persecute you and
speak all kinds of calumny against you falsely on my account.
Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven; this
is how they persecuted the prophets before you.

7. Consecrate Your Churches, Homes and Workplaces to the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart

    (To be read by leader or family member)

We should consecrate the human race to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We should enthrone Jesus as King in all homes, churches and businesses.

June is the month of the Sacred Heart. Jesus must reign, be KING, of all hearts. Jesus' promises to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque are given. We should read them. We can consecrate our churches and places of prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus that He will reign there.

First Friday is a special day of devotion to the Sacred Heart. We have these booklets available that people will consecrate their homes, churches and businesses to the Sacred Heart. Will you help us encourage all to consecrate their homes, businesses and churches to the Sacred Heart? Will you help us spread these booklets?

We want the Sacred Heart of Jesus to reign and the Immaculate Heart of Mary to triumph in all hearts. Will you pray for this with us and help us to spread this material?

Recommend to people that they display to be honored pictures of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

May is the month of Mary and June is the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Tell all about this consecration. During these months we can make a special effort to do this.

We can gather our friends and sing, "To Jesus' Heart All Burning" and "Immaculate Mary". May these two Hearts of love give all members of the human race peace, joy and love in their hearts.

We should adore Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. This is such a gift God gives to us. Jesus loved us so much He gave His life for His precious souls. Jesus wants the souls to come to Him and love Him.

We are so gifted to receive Jesus in Holy Communion. Jesus has a Heart filled with love on fire for men.

The more we united to Jesus, the more we will become one with the Father and know His love.

Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

We can offer a holy hour for the indifference, ingratitude and sacrileges committed against Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, the Sacrament of His greatest love.

8. Consecration Prayer for Peace

I consecrate Russia and the Ukraine to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

I further consecrate the priests, the Church and the world to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

I do this in the name of Jesus in as far as I am able, united to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, praying to the Father, in the Holy Spirit, with all the angels and saints and the souls in purgatory through the powerful intercession of Mary, Queen of Peace. Amen.

I further consecrate myself, all members of my family and ask the Holy Spirit to fill us. I spread the Blood of Jesus on all above, I cast the devil into hell away from all of us and consecrate all persons, in as far as I am able,  to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart.

We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our president and leaders. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants. We pray for the upcoming election.

        Age of the Two Hearts

Jesus:  "My beloved priest-companion, I have allowed you to experience in extraordinary fashion the riches contained in My Heart and My Mother's Heart. I desire that you tell all My people about these riches. I desire that My people consecrate themselves to My Sacred Heart and to Mary's Immaculate Heart. My people are living in the beginnings of the age of the Two Hearts.

    "After the time of the purification is completed, this new era of the Church and the world will become firmly established. This era will be characterized by the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart. All those who consecrate themselves to My Heart and to My Mother's Heart will help to establish this glorious new age. I am Lord and Master. Please listen to My urgent request. Within Our Hearts you will experience the love and security, the peace and the joy, which you all desire. I love My people with a tremendous love, and in My love I give them this message!"

Reflection: This is the Age of the Two Hearts! The surest road to sanctity in these our times is through consecration to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. In making this consecration, and striving with God's grace to live it as best we can each day, we are contributing to the establishment of the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and to the arrival of the reign of the Sacred Heart.

Work to Make Your World Better

Jesus: "My beloved companion, remind My people of their responsibility toward the world. They have a duty to try to make this a better world for all to live in.

"Today there is much which is wrong with the world. Sin covers the face of the earth. Sins of all kinds blemish the goodness of My Father's creation.

"However, My Mother and I are increasingly gathering our forces for the battle against Satan and his followers. We are more and more forming Our followers to wage the battle to win back that part of the world dominated by Satan's influence. We are forming our followers in the ways of love. We are forming Our followers with the grace which flows from the bosom of My Father, through My Heart, given in the Holy Spirit, and distributed through the intercession of the maternal and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

"We are forming Our followers to give themselves in the greatest love for God and neighbor. We are bringing them ever more closely to Our Hearts so that they may draw from the flames of love of My Heart and Mary's Heart! The more My followers dwell in Mary's Heart and My Heart, the more they are enlightened and strengthened to give themselves for the salvation of the world.

"I am Lord and Master. I ask all to follow Me and My Mother to help us bring forth the great age of love and peace for the world. This age will emerge after the phase of purification has been completed. This age will be characterized by the triumph of Mary's immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart. In this great new age, soon to come, My people will love and praise My Father, with Mary and through Me and in the Holy Spirit, as never before!

"I love My people with a tremendous, burning love, and in this love I give them this message!"

Reflection: The world belongs to Christ. St. Paul tells us about this:

As he is the Beginning, he was first to be born from the dead, so that he should be first in every way, because God wanted all perfection to be found in him, and all things to be reconciled through him and for him, everything in heaven and everything on earth, when he made peace by his death on the cross (Colossians 1:18-20).

Since the world belongs to Christ, we, who are His followers, must have a great love for the world as created and redeemed by God. We must labor through our participation in the Mass and through all our other prayers and good works to more and more help the Christic image of the world to shine forth in ever greater splendor. This is our duty and our privilege. Out of love for God and neighbor, let's resolve to get on with the task!

        January 12, 2000 - School of Love

    Today’s gospel from John’s Gospel speaks some beautiful words to us about Jesus’ gift of Himself to us in the Holy Eucharist. The Eucharist is such a great school of love. Jesus comes to us out of God’s miracle of love, through the miracle of transubstantiation, bread and wine is changed into the Body and Blood of Jesus. This is a wonderful miracle so that even though He ascended into heaven he is still…in what the Church refers to as His real presence, in the Eucharist. Jesus remains with us: Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity, today, in His real presence in the Eucharist.

    Yes, the Eucharist is a great school of love. In the Eucharist, Jesus teaches us the lengths in which love can go. Jesus showed us His love, by His fruitful dying on the cross, by His glorious Resurrection, by remaining with us in the Eucharist. And so the Eucharist teaches us… love…always love, love of God, love your neighbor, love for each other as ourselves. The Eucharist teaches us…how the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus cries out for our love, and Jesus wants so much, so much to be loved.

    But the Eucharist in its school of love tells us how he overwhelming loves us…Jesus gives himself to us in the Eucharist. He loved those who, loved and accepted Him and those who rejected Him, despite all Jesus did for them and all His love for them.

February 1, 2000

    The offering of the votive Mass of the Holy Eucharist allows us all sorts of possibilities to reflect upon this multi-splendored gift which is the Eucharist. Today I thought I would give a homily which allows us to deepen our appreciation and our thanksgiving for the availability of the Eucharist to us. Even we, who try to be so fully committed to Christ and to Christ in His Eucharistic gift, can at least, a little bit of times, to a certain degree, take the Eucharist for granted and not appreciate its daily availability to us.

    These two stories I'm going to quote bring out the fact that not all Catholics have this daily availability and sometimes when they have it they have to experience the endangerment of their own lives to attend the Eucharist. And this first story is found in Fulton Sheen's book, Through the Year with Fulton Sheen, brings this fact out that, especially during those war years, Second World War and communist domination after World War II, how people literally around the world, at least in those communist dominated countries and during the German occupation in World War II actually risked their lives for the great privilege of attending the Eucharist.

    And here’s that story from a German concentration camp. "A priest who was in the German prison camp Dachau describes the Mass after all the German guards were in bed. He said, ‘Our lives were in danger if we were ever discovered. A young priest had to memorize the names of all of those who had received Communion. After night call and bed check, we would set our guards, darken the windows, and the lucky one to be chosen to celebrate for this momentous occasion would carefully brush his pathetic garb, put the stole over his shoulders, and by the small light of his smuggled candle begin the commemoration of that great passion...

    We could understand the Mass. All that could crowd into the room were there, tears of joy running down our cheeks. Christ the Lord, who knew what suffering was, was coming... to bring us strength and consolation. The small hosts were broken into as many particles as possible so that the greatest number could communicate. We had to keep a secret roster of those who received. We missed some of the liturgy perhaps, but I think that God looked down into that prison room and found a particularly refreshing response to his cry of love from the cross, ‘I thirst.’ There was nothing that could keep us from doing all in our power to be closer to God.’"1

    And if this story brings out the great danger many have undergone to attend the Eucharist, this next story brings out the fact that in many sections of our world today there are not enough priests, and many Catholics do not have the Eucharist because of this shortage of priests.

    And this is related to us by Pope John Paul II in one of his letters, his Holy Thursday letters, to his fellow priests. He says, "Dear brothers: ...you who have put your hand to the plough and do not turn back, and perhaps even more those of you who are doubtful of the meaning of your vocation or of the value of your service: think of the places where people anxiously await a priest, and where for many years, feeling the lack of such a priest, they do not cease to hope for his presence.

    And sometimes it happens that they meet in an abandoned shrine, and place on the altar a stole which they still keep, and recite all the prayers of the Eucharistic Liturgy; and then, at the moment that corresponds to the transubstantiation a deep silence comes down upon them, a silence sometimes broken by a sob... so ardently do they desire to hear the words that only the lips of a priest can efficaciously utter... So deeply do they feel the absence of a priest among them!... Such places are not lacking in the world. So if one of you doubts the meaning of his Priesthood, if he thinks it is ‘socially’ fruitless or useless, reflect on this!” 2

    And so we who have the great privilege of attending the Eucharist each day, let us pray during this Mass and always not to take that availability for granted, but to get the most out of each Eucharistic participation.

    And as we participate, among our other petitions, let us ask the Father to send us more priests, good and holy priests, and to renew His present priests with the greatest desire for the greatest holiness. Father, we put this petition before You through Your Son Jesus, in the Holy Spirit, with the prayerful assistance of Mary, our Mother.

7. A Prayer Before the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

    Let me be a holy sacrifice and unite with God in the sacrament of His greatest love.

    I want to be one in Him in this act of love, where He gives Himself to me and I give myself as a sacrifice to Him. Let me be a holy sacrifice as I become one with Him in this my act of greatest love to Him.

    Let me unite with Him more, that I may more deeply love Him. May I help make reparation to His adorable Heart and the heart of His Mother, Mary. With greatest love, I offer myself to You and pray that You will accept my sacrifice of greatest love. I give myself to You and unite in Your gift of Yourself to me. Come and possess my soul.

    Cleanse me, strengthen me, heal me. Dear Holy Spirit act in the heart of Mary to make me more and more like Jesus.

    Father, I offer this my sacrifice, myself united to Jesus in the Holy Spirit to You. Help me to love God more deeply in this act of my greatest love.

    Give me the grace to grow in my knowledge, love and service of You and for this to be my greatest participation in the Mass. Give me the greatest graces to love You so deeply in this Mass, You who are so worthy of my love.
