Fr. Carter says
From Response to God's Love - Chapter 5
"...God's life is a life of divine knowing and
loving, and through Christian faith
and love we participate in these
Trinitarian operations.
Hope, for its part, gives a very
special support to faith and love...."
What does faith accomplish in us? The contemporary theology of faith emphasizes that faith established a personal relationship between the Christian and God. Faith is concerned primarily with a response to the personal God and only secondarily, but definitely very importantly, with the truths that God reveals. This should not surprise us, for there is a similarity regarding our relationships with human persons. A person who is of low character and known to be a liar, for example, does not elicit our trust; we tend to disbelieve whatever he or she might say. On the other hand, we tend to believe whatever a person of good character tells us. Human faith, then, directs us, first, to the person and, secondarily, to what he or she says. Divine faith works similarly; it directs us primarily to God himself, and secondarily to the truths he gives us. Moreover, faith not only establishes a special, personal relationship between the believer and God; because of the new vision of mankind that faith gives, it calls the believer to a faith-inspired relationship with his or her neighbor. Faith is truly person orientated—it directs the Christian to God and others and forms personal relationships accordingly.
Faith is meant to involve not only the intellect, but the entire person; this is the biblical concept of faith. True, the graced intellect assents to the truths that God reveals, but one's whole being is also meant to assent. Ideally, Christian faith is the commitment of the entire person to God in Christ. Mature faith is the complete dedication of oneself and all of one's powers and capacities to Jesus and his cause.
Because faith is the commitment of one's entire being to the truth of Jesus, we must live the truth of Jesus, not merely intellectually assent to it. We properly comprehend religious truth only when we live it, savor it, experience it to the depths of our being. How much more we have understood the truth of Christ and its power, wisdom and beauty when we were not only assenting to this truth with our intellects but also living it, allowing it to permeate and transform our entire existence. As a corollary, we see the danger of intellectually assenting to Christ's truth without attempting to live accordingly. One's faith can grow weak and even die if there is a constant and serious dichotomy between what we believe and the manner in which we live.
If we ourselves grow in faith by living its truth, we also progress by witnessing the truth of Jesus in the lives of others. This is an application of the principle of continued Incarnation. In the historical Incarnation, Jesus taught us the truth of the Father not only verbally, but also by his own living of that truth. God hands on the truth of Jesus not only through various verbal forms, such as the teaching of the Church, but also, in part, through the manner in which Christians live this truth. Christianity has not exerted a greater influence in the world because, in part, too few Christian lives have properly assimilated and manifested the truth of Christ. Indeed, this truth tends to have its full attractive force only when it is observed to be properly lived out in the lives of Christians who profess this truth. Our faith is blessed when we ourselves encounter such Christians.
When we live according to faith, we are living according to a vision of God, humanity, and the rest of creation. Faith tells us things about God and creation that we could either not otherwise know or know only with greater difficulty and with less certainty. A good example of the former is the doctrine of the Trinity: Unaided reason can never arrive at this sublime truth; only the intellect that has been elevated with the grace of faith can encounter the Triune God.
If we are to properly progress in the spiritual life, we must allow this vision of faith to more and more penetrate our activities. Increasingly, we should become contemplative in action; we should view reality in a way that is similar to God's view of reality. Increasingly, everything we see should remind us of God because everything that is good and true and beautiful really does reflect God. The beauties of nature, for example, manifest his beauty; the raging storm at sea reflects his power; the stillness of the forest reminds us of God's holy silence; and the goodness, the kindness, and the love that we observe in others around us tell us that God is infinitely good and kind and loving.
The vision of faith allows us to see mankind and the world in a manner that differs from the nonbeliever's view. As contemplatives in action, we should act upon this vision. Every man, woman, and child is marked with the blood of Christ. If Jesus loved them so much—indeed, if he now loves them so much—can we be indifferent to their needs, both spiritual and material? Can we be indifferent to all the problems that burden modern men and women? If we are Christians of living faith, we know that we cannot be indifferent. The vision of faith should inspire us to action according to our vocation, talents, opportunity, time, and energy. We should be laboring to make mankind and the world more reflective of Christ's image. To the extent that we do not, we are betraying the vision of faith.

A FORMER BANK
December 19, 1996
Mary: My dear children, I give to you, my Son, Jesus, born in a stable in Bethlehem on Christmas morn. He is the Almighty God, the Light of the World.
I appear to you, my children, on a (former) bank in Florida. You have made money your god! Do you know how cold are your hearts? You turn away from my Son, Jesus, for your money. Your money is your god.
I am Mary, your Mother. I do not appear as I once appeared to you. I am asking you today to circulate my message given on a tape on the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, December 12, 1996. Please circulate this tape now. Give it to as many people as you can. I am Mary, your Mother. Please circulate my Rosary Book.

Joyful Mysteries
Song: A Song from Jesus
R. Again I want to pray for Kathleen's mom and her family and hope that she gets healed, if it is God's will.
Jesus: Let go to Me. Let go and let Me touch your soul. So tight, wound up like a drum. And I am with you here, and this is My building and the building of My Mother. For I have given to the world this great gift, that you will know more and more, the love that your God has for you, the love of the Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart.
It is in this that you will know the peace that Mary promised at Fatima, but you must listen to the message that she gave to you in spreading the consecration, and consecrating your homes, and consecrating your families, and praying as I have directed Fr. Carter for the priests, the Church and the world, in praying the rosary, and spreading this to the schools, and more and more, trying to work with the rosary makers that you spread the rosary to the schools for the children will be touched.
It is through the rosary that you will know more and more, the mysteries of Our lives, that you will be able to live as I have called you to live. For you do not see the importance of this building to the Father.
Mary by day
July 5, 2000by night
July 5, 2000He has spoken to you. He has told you over and over again, how important it is to the plan that He has given to this world. For He is the Creator and you are the creatures, and you are not pleasing your God, in your disobedience and the ways that you have acted. It is because of the prayer here, that you have appeased your God. Do not minimize My request for the services that I have called for from this building any longer. Our Father
Jesus: Our Lady appeared at this building that all could see, for 7 1/2 years, almost ignored by most of the world. My people, you are offending your God. Pray with all your heart. Beg for mercy. Do not minimize My request for My building in Florida, to spread the consecration to Our Two Hearts, to pray the rosary, for frequent reception of the Eucharist, to tell the world of the great gifts given in the Catholic Church, to encourage all to be baptized. I am Jesus and I have spoken. Hail Mary
R. Oh Lady of Fatima — Lady here in the building in Clearwater, we want so much for the world to be the way that God wants it to be. That we have given our lives and in our imperfection, we may be tested, and may, many times not come back in the way that we should, but our faithfulness and our love is there, our gift of ourselves given, our true valor, although not with the greatest perfection many times, for we are the poor banished children of Eve, but would You look upon our faithfulness and intercede to our beloved God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit ,and ask Him to please help us to do this, for we want the world with all of our hearts to be the way that God wants it to be.
Oh Lady of Light, Oh Lady of Fatima in the Americas, from the depth of every cell in my body I cry to thee. Hear our prayer from this place. For the journey was hard and the nights were long, and we never said 'nay'. We said 'yes' Lady. Yes, Lady for you and your Son. Yes Lady, to turmoil and trial, through love and joy. Yes, Lady. Yes, Lady. Lady of Fatima, intercede to God the Father, that we can reach the souls of this earth with this message of love, that we can reach the hierarchy, the pope, and they will listen, for the Church is the greatest, the gift of the Eucharist, the gifts of the Sacraments and baptism. Yes, Lady.
Sing: Dear Lady of Fatima, we come on bended knee to beg your intercession for peace and unity. Dear Mary won't you show us the right and shining way. We pledge our love and offer you a rosary each day.
R. We love you so much Mary. We love You Jesus. We love You Father and Holy Spirit, and all the angels and saints. We love the Church and the priests and the hierarchy. We do this because of our love. And satan doesn't like what we do and it is hard, but it is our labor of love. It is given because it means so much to us. Please hear us God. Please hear us Mary. Help us please.
The Annunciation
1. R. You know we have the Eucharist exposed in China, Indiana, and you can look on the internet, and you can see the people down there praying with us, and you can pray with us all over the world. Let's all pray with all of our hearts and all the love that we have for God and Mary, and all the souls of the earth. For it is love why we pray. It is love for the souls that Jesus died for. We love our Church so much God. We love our priests and the hierarchy. We pray for them all the time because of our great love. We thank You God. Thank you for the pope and the cardinals, and the bishops and the archbishops and the priests, and for the priests that help us, for my brother, and Father Mike and Father Don and the priests that come and say Mass for us, and for all that Fr. Bernie did.
What a gift God has given to us in the Church. What a gift! A gift, a gift beyond price. A gift beyond measure, a gift beyond words, a gift that God gives to us in giving us Himself in the Eucharist truly present. Oh God how can I tell You how much the Eucharist means to me? How much it means to have Your grace in me, to know the presence of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit dwelling within me, to know the gift of baptism, and to be so ever grateful, to love the Word as I do, more and more the gift of the Word. The Word feeds my hungry soul. Oh God, the treasure is beyond price or words and we thank Thee.
2. Hail Mary
3. R. And we pray for the healing that we prayed for, and all the healing that you want to pray for. We ask that the Blood of Jesus will be spread on everyone in the Movement, everybody that touches the Movement and our families. We pray God that You will send people to this building, and that we get the funds that we so desperately need right now. Funds just for the bills and to get this mailing out again to the priests, and to get Fr. Carter's Response to God's Love book started at the printer, so we can send the next mailing. Dear God, please help us.
4. Hail Mary
5. Jesus: And so you are busy about many things because I have called you, and I have allowed you to be tested over and over again. And I know of your yes and I know of your struggle, and I am with you in it all, for you are never alone. For the work that you do is the work to help the souls of this earth, the souls that I died for. And yet you may feel the struggle, and that is what suffering is. Suffering is suffering. But I am close to you, My child in all that you experience.
The building that you have been given is the building of My Father, a gift for the world. And it is to be guarded by the Shepherds of Christ that you will give your hearts, and for those who will help and contribute, that you will be able to maintain this building, and do what I have asked you to do from this building, that there will be peace on this earth, that you can help to bring to completion more the Fatima mission, that you will spread the prayer chapters for the priests, the Church and the world.
But you must have great faith. You must have a heart of love, and one of goodness that to those who come, your efforts are those to help them, to help them to know what I tell you now, to not give into the evil one to feel pressed on, but to realize how I am right with you and I am helping you and I love you so.
6. Hail Mary
7. Jesus: And you feel like you are tried in doing My will, and yet you look at Me on the cross, you see My body covered with wounds, My hands with nails and the nail in My feet. You see My head crowned with thorns, and you know that they nailed Me to the cross.
8. Jesus: And I did it for you, and I did it for the love of My precious souls. And I call to you today from this building to spread this love to the whole world, that you pray your prayers to help make reparation for the sins of the people of this earth, and that you never lose hope, but you feel that deep connection with Me and with My Mother, and that you know that we are giving you this commission to spread the love of Our Two Hearts to the world, to never falter or to become weak.
But to become empowered, because this is the place given to you from God the Father, and to those that I have called to help you, to help you in the payment. Continue to pray. Pray ardently. Pray for your donors. Pray that you will be able to keep this place, a place in which great grace and healing will be granted to those who come and pray fervently, and pray with you in these retreats. I will outpour My richest graces. Do you hear Me, My child? I am speaking to you in clear tones. You must listen and take My message to heart.
9. Hail Mary
10. Hail Mary
The Visitation
1. Jesus: Have you felt the pulling back of many of those that are to help you, of pulling back, of pulling back? And I have called them, I have called them, and I have called them by name. And they do not answer the call that I have given to them, and so it is more and more difficult. And the evil one tests through many, that pull back and pull back, when they are being called. You must pray My child, pray for them, for I have called many to help you.
2. Jesus: You can say 'no', or you can say 'yes'. You can say 'let somebody else do it'. You can say 'God is not talking to me' or 'Mary did not appear on the building'. But in all of it, the bottom line is, you are unwilling to do the helping. You do not want to be bothered. And when you hear Me call you softly in your heart, or I ask you to do something, very explicit, you do not listen, because you do not want to.
3. Jesus: Pray to the Holy Spirit, that you will answer with a willing spirit, that you will see always, with the right reasoning, of looking through the Father's eyes at the world below, rather than looking through the tainted vision and tainted habits, that you have allowed yourself to acquire. Pray to the Holy Spirit to rid you of vices, that have stopped you and slowed the process, for souls are at stake. And I, Jesus Christ, who died for these souls, call out to you this day. You are here and they are here struggling. Do not focus on yourselves and be selfish. Focus on the souls that you will be able to reach, if you pray hard to the Holy Spirit and give with a willing spirit of love.
4. Jesus: I have watched many give into their emotions and their feelings, and they are determining their actions by how they are emotionally or in their feelings. You have a free will to choose right or wrong. You cannot ever say, "Well, the devil made me do it." The devil did not make you do it. You have a free choice and with right reason, using your intellect, you can choose good rather than evil. Take responsibility for your actions. Do not give into satan to trick you once again, to allow you to go deeper and deeper into habits, that cause you trouble and hurt others. Pray to the Holy Spirit that you will be filled with the Holy Spirit, that you will answer the call that I am giving to you now, that you will let go of the enslavement to which you have given into satan.
5. Jesus: I call you to holiness. I call you to unity. I call you to obey the structure. I call you.
Sing: Holy, Holy — Holy Is His Name
6. Hail Mary
7. Jesus: Do not test a just God any longer. Pray for mercy for your fellows, and live lives of greater holiness, for it is in your lives of holiness, in praying for the priests, the Church and the world, that you have appeased your God. I love you, I love you, I love you.

Do you want peace?
When we didn't listen to Mary
after the Apparition of
Fatima
there was World War II many years
later
Excerpt from The Spirituality of Fatima
by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J.
July 13, 1917
"During this same July apparition, Mary showed the three children a vision of Hell. She told them:
"You have seen Hell, where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish, in the world, devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If people do what I tell you, many souls will be saved and there will be peace.
"The war (World War I, then raging) is going to end. But if people do not stop offending God, another and worse one will begin in the reign of Pius XI. When you shall see a night illuminated by an unknown light [January 2, 1938], know that this is the great sign that God gives you that He is going to punish the world for its many crimes by means of war, hunger, and persecution of the Church and the Holy Father. (12)
"To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart and the Communion of Reparation on the five first Saturdays. If my requests are granted, Russia will be converted and there will be peace. If not, she will scatter her errors throughout the world, provoking wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, and various nations will be destroyed....
"But in the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph, the Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, Russia will be converted, and a certain period of peace will be granted to the world." (13)

85. Thank you for your beautiful letter and accompanying material on the Shepherds of Christ. I read with attention the material enclosed. Fr. Edward Carter, S.J., and yourself were specially set aside by the Holy Spirit to pray for those who serve the various ministries of the Church. Your work has given birth to many graces and spiritual fruit. I am certain that your prayer and counsel have saved many priests from an overly pessimistic evaluation of the present state of the presbyterate in the USA. You began this work in 1993; this was well before the breaking forth of the sexual abuse crisis within the Church in 2002. The strength and consolation that your members are offering to priests through their prayers have been of immense importance in sustaining priests in their ministry. I will continue to pray for the intentions of your association and deepen my own prayer for the life and ministry of priests in the USA and through the world. 9/9/2008 Cardinal Vatican
86. I have received your letter of August 30, 2008 and the enclosed publication "Guiding Light, The Word Alive in Our Hearts." 88. Thank you for sending your kind letter and the Homilies by Rev. Fr. Joe Robinson, I appreciate your work and pray for greater fruits for the priests all over the world. 9/8/2008 Cardinal Japan

93. Thank you for the package of books and pamphlets from the Shepherds of Christ Ministries. I will certainly keep your movement in my prayer. 9/5/2008 Bishop USA
94. Thank you for your recent letter to me, dated the 30th August 2008, and also for the accompanying booklet "Guiding Light", consisting of homilies by your brother, Fr. Joe Robinson. I do hope that the material will help many priests throughout the world grow closer to Christ "our great high Priest". 9/5/2008 Cardinal Scotland
95. Thank you for sending me the materials published by the Shepherds of Christ. They are always well-done, although many priests might dismiss them as too "traditional" for their consideration. In your most recent mailing, you include a book of homilies, something that most priests find helpful, no matter what their position might be on various devotions. Homilies aids are often the way into a priest's preoccupations, and I think you might wish to consider other similar materials to bring your ministry to the attention of more priests. Thank you again for including me in your recent mailing. You are in my prayers; please keep me in yours. 9/4/2008 Cardinal USA
96. Thank you for your letter of August 30, 2008. Thank you also for the enclosed materials and the two books Guiding Light: The Word Alive in Our Hearts and Medicine of Immortality. 9/3/2008 Bishop USA
