The New Adam — Christ
1 Peter 3: 18-22
Christ himself died once and for all for sins, the upright for the sake of the guilty, to lead us to God. In the body he was put to death, in the spirit he was raised to life, and, in the spirit, he went to preach to the spirits in prison. They refused to believe long ago, while God patiently waited to receive them, in Noah’s time when the ark was being built. In it only a few, that is eight souls, were saved through water. It is the baptism corresponding to this water which saves you now—not the washing off of physical dirt but the pledge of a good conscience given to God through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has entered heaven and is at God’s right hand, with angels, ruling forces and powers subject to him.
Sacrifice —
Abraham was asked to sacrifice his son Isaac
Sacrifice
The Father sent His Son
Jesus is the Lamb that was slain for our sins.
Sacrifice
Why does the world want us to have the idea we will not
have to sacrifice.
Our lives are our offerings
We lay our lives down in the morning offering
We, the members of the body of Christ, are united to
all the Masses going on around the world —
We lay our lives down according to the Father's will
Jesus the Son of God, laid His life down doing the Father's will
Sacrifice is an offering
Atonement for sin
Sacrifice is offering our joys, our sorrows — we
give our lives to the Father daily — united to
the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Jesus
sacramentally made present — in the Holy Spirit —
with all the angels and saints in purgatory —
We pray for the priests, the Church and the world —
We pray for grace to be released —
We pray for grace for ourselves and the priests, the Church
and the world.
We tap the fountain of life —
From the pierced Heart of Christ the Church was born.
Mary stood beneath the cross — crying for her precious
children that would be lost despite the
death of her precious Son.
Simeon told Mary
"and a sword too will pierce your heart"
The New Adam, the New Eve

Hebrews Chapter 11
Faith of Ancients
Hebrews 12: 1-29
With so many witnesses in a great cloud all around us, we too, then, should throw off everything that weighs us down and the sin that clings so closely, and with perseverance keep running in the race which lies ahead of us. Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, who leads us in our faith and brings it to perfection: for the sake of the joy which lay ahead of him, he endured the cross, disregarding the shame of it, and has taken his seat at the right of God’s throne. Think of the way he persevered against such opposition from sinners and then you will not lose heart and come to grief. In the fight against sin, you have not yet had to keep fighting to the point of bloodshed.
Have you forgotten that encouraging text in which you are addressed as sons?
My son, do not scorn correction
from the Lord,
do not resent his training,
for the Lord trains those he loves,
and chastises every son he accepts.Perseverance is part of your training; God is treating you as his sons. Has there ever been any son whose father did not train him? If you were not getting this training, as all of you are, then you would be not sons but bastards. Besides, we have all had our human fathers who punished us, and we respected them for it; all the more readily ought we to submit to the Father of spirits, and so earn life. Our human fathers were training us for a short life and according to their own lights; but he does it all for our own good, so that we may share his own holiness. Of course, any discipline is at the time a matter for grief, not joy; but later, in those who have undergone it, it bears fruit in peace and uprightness. So steady all weary hands and trembling knees and make your crooked paths straight; then the injured limb will not be maimed, it will get better instead.
Seek peacewith all people, and the holiness without which no one can ever see the Lord. Be careful that no one is deprived of the grace of God and that no root of bitterness should begin to grow and make trouble; this can poison a large number. And be careful that there is no immoral person, or anyone worldly minded like Esau, who sold his birthright for one single meal. As you know, when he wanted to obtain the blessing afterwards, he was rejected and, though he pleaded for it with tears, he could find no way of reversing the decision.
What you have come to is nothing known to the senses: not a blazing fire, or gloom or total darkness, or a storm; or trumpet-blast or the sound of a voice speaking which made everyone that heard it beg that no more should be said to them. They could not bear the order that was given: If even a beast touches the mountain, it must be stoned. The whole scene was so terrible that Moses said, 'I am afraid and trembling.' But what you have come to is Mount Zion and the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem where the millions of angels have gathered for the festival, with the whole Church of first-born sons, enrolled as citizens of heaven. You have come to God himself, the supreme Judge, and to the spirits of the upright who have been made perfect; and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to purifying blood which pleads more insistently than Abel's. Make sure that you never refuse to listen when he speaks. If the people who on earth refused to listen to a warning could not escape their punishment, how shall we possibly escape if we turn away from a voice that warns us from heaven? That time his voice made the earth shake, but now he has given us this promise: I am going to shake the earth once more and not only the earth but heaven as well. The words once more indicate the removal of what is shaken, since these are created things, so that what is not shaken remains. We have been given possession of an unshakeable kingdom. Let us therefore be grateful and use our gratitude to worship God in the way that pleases him, in reverence and fear. For our God is a consuming fire.
Oh Father let me pray with all my heart
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those
who trespass against us.
God has indeed blessed us
God has given us the Church
We have been given His Word —
We eat the Body of Jesus
We drink His Blood
We are nourished and fed in the Mass at the table of
the Lord
In His Word — that penetrates our heart and soul
In Receiving the Holy Banquet —
the Body and Blood of Jesus
Fill us God with Your life
Saturate us now with Your grace
We want to be one in Thee
A man searched his whole life for treasure
He searched amongst the perishable things of the earth
He was frustrated and wanted to cry
At long last a man came and told Him about the
Church and the Mass
He said "brother — I never knew this."
How can we be shy —
When God is so good
When Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist
When God gives us new life in baptism
When God gives us all the sacraments and the priest
Why do some Catholics leave —
Hear them say
"Brother, I never knew this"
What is more important than eternal life —
Mary showed the children a vision of hell at Fatima
July 13, 1917 —This was almost 90 years ago.
We must spread this devotion to the Sacred Heart and
Immaculate Heart —Look at the message of the angel before the first
message of Mary to the children
The Spirituality of Fatima
Before receiving the six apparitions of Our Lady, May through October of 1917, the three Fatima visionaries were visited by an angel on three different occasions during the preceding year. He appeared to them in the spring, summer, and fall. Lucia (now Sr. Lucia) describes the springtime apparition of the angel:
On reaching us, he said: "Do not be afraid! I am the Angel of Peace. Pray with me."
Kneeling on the ground, he bowed down until his forehead touched the ground and made us repeat these words three times: "My God, I believe, I adore, I hope and I love You! I ask pardon of You for those who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love You."
Then, rising he said: "Pray thus. The Hearts of Jesus and Mary are attentive to the voice of your supplications."
His words engraved themselves so deeply on our minds that we could never forget them (3)
During the summer of 1916, the angel again appeared to the three visionaries. He said to them:
Pray! Pray a great deal. The Hearts of Jesus and Mary have merciful designs on you. Offer prayers and sacrifices continually to the Most High. Make everything you do a sacrifice, and offer it as an act of reparation for the sins by which God is offended, and as a petition for the conversion of sinners. Bring peace to our country in this way.... I am the Guardian Angel of Portugal Accept and bear with submission all the sufferings the Lord will send you. (4)
In the fall of the same year, the angel visited the visionaries a final time:
The angel came...bearing a golden chalice in one hand and a Host above it in the other. The amazed children noticed that drops of blood were falling from the Host into the chalice. Presently, the angel left both suspended in mid-air and prostrated himself on the ground, saying this beautiful prayer: "Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, I adore You profoundly. I offer You the most precious Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges, and indifference by which He is offended. By the infinite merits of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and [the intercession of] the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of Thee the conversion of poor sinners." (5)
Sr. Lucia relates how the angel gave them Communion:
Then, rising, he took the chalice and the Host in his hand. He gave the Sacred Host to me and shared the Blood from the chalice between Jacinta and Francisco, saying as he did so:
"Take and drink the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, horribly outraged by ungrateful men! Make reparation for their crimes and console your God." (6)

Psalm 19: 11-14
Thus your servant is formed by them;
observing them brings great reward.
But who can detect his own failings?
Wash away my hidden faults. And from pride preserve your servant,
never let it be my master.
So shall I be above reproach,
free from grave sin.
May the words of my mouth always find favour,
and the whispering of my heart,
in your presence, Yahweh,
my rock, my redeemer.
Revelation 22: 12-17
Look, I am coming soon, and my reward is with me, to repay everyone as their deeds deserve. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. Blessed are those who will have washed their robes clean, so that they will have the right to feed on the tree of life and can come through the gates into the city. Others must stay outside: dogs, fortune–tellers, and the sexually immoral, murderers, idolaters, and everyone of false speech and false life.’
I, Jesus, have sent my angel to attest these things to you for the sake of the churches. I am the sprig from the root of David and the bright star of the morning.
The Spirit and the Bride say, ‘Come!’ Let everyone who listens answer, ‘Come!’ Then let all who are thirsty come: all who want it may have the water of life, and have it free.
Oh Bright Morning Star —
To us was given a Redeemer
And now today we are given the Church
We are united in such oneness
Loving our Head —
Growing in greater maturity, purity and love
Being a body united as never before
Living and forgiving one another
Not giving into our fallen human nature
for we are filled with Your grace
Oh precious God
How sweet You are to us
No one can even count Your favor and gifts
And yet so few are there to thank You —
We are consumed with our fallen ways at
times
And constant lessons we thwart —
We run away to follow our habitual evil ways
of pride, envy, lust, greed etc. —
Oh Savior sanctify us with the grace flowing
from Your precious Heart, poured
out to us through Your bride
the Church.
Oh God — You are great indeed
worthy of all praise and honor
Our love, God we pour out to You
Our gratitude we sing with a humble heart
We love the purity of Your Mother who
is Mother of the Church
When men want ways of gold —
going to her Immaculate Heart —
she leads them to her Son Jesus
Yes she is the Mother of the fruits of
the Church — the little children —
some of us so huffy and prideful and
saying — we need not a mother — we are
men and women
But Mary with gentle eyes sees beyond their
weakness and loves her precious children —
the ones Jesus died for
She stood beneath the cross —
she watched Jesus die for our sins —
Jesus wants us to be good —
To obey the Father's will
To go to heaven.
Jesus would die for us today He loves us so much.
Jesus has given us the Church and
He is the head —
He has given us the priest
Jesus loves us so much
Jesus remains with us —
truly present in the blessed Sacrament
Hebrews 10: 5-7
and that is why he said, on coming into the world:
You wanted no sacrifice or cereal offering,
but you gave me a body.
You took no pleasure in burnt offering'
or sacrifice for sin;
then I said, 'Here I am, I am coming,'
in the scroll of the book it is written of me,
to do your will, God.
Song: A Priest is a Gift from God
Hebrews 10: 11-18
Every priest stands at his duties every day, offering over and over again the same sacrifices which are quite incapable of taking away sins. He, on the other hand, has offered one single sacrifice for sins, and then taken his seat for ever, at the right hand of God, where he is now waiting till his enemies are made his footstool. By virtue of that one single offering, he has achieved the eternal perfection of all who are sanctified. The Holy Spirit attests this to us, for after saying:
No, this is the covenant
I will make with them,
when those days have come.the Lord says:
In their minds I will plant my Laws
writing them on their hearts,
and I shall never more
call their sins to mind,
or their offences. When these have been forgiven, there can be no more sin offerings.
Hebrews 10: 19-25
We have then, brothers, complete confidence through the blood of Jesus in entering the sanctuary, by a new way which he has opened for us, a living opening through the curtain, that is to say, his flesh. And we have the high priest over all the sanctuary of God. So as we go in, let us be sincere in heart and filled with faith, our hearts sprinkled and free from any trace of bad conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us keep firm in the hope we profess, because the one who made the promise is trustworthy. Let us be concerned for each other, to stir a response in love and good works. Do not absent yourself from your own assemblies, as some do, but encourage each other; the more so as you see the Day drawing near.
A Prayer before the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass
Let me be a holy sacrifice and unite with God in the sacrament of His greatest love.
I want to be one in Him in this act of love, where He gives Himself to me and I give myself as a sacrifice to Him. Let me be a holy sacrifice as I become one with Him in this my act of greatest love to Him.
Let me unite with Him more, that I may more deeply love Him. May I help make reparation to His adorable Heart and the heart of His Mother, Mary. With greatest love, I offer myself to You and pray that You will accept my sacrifice of greatest love. I give myself to You and unite in Your gift of Yourself to me. Come and possess my soul.
Cleanse me, strengthen me, heal me. Dear Holy Spirit act in the heart of Mary to make me more and more like Jesus.
Father, I offer this my sacrifice, myself united to Jesus in the Holy Spirit to You. Help me to love God more deeply in this act of my greatest love.
Give me the grace to grow in my knowledge, love and service of You and for this to be my greatest participation in the Mass. Give me the greatest graces to love You so deeply in this Mass, You who are so worthy of my love.
