Prayer for Grace for our Country
Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our new president as he takes office. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.
May 26, 2004
Messenger: Dear Jesus,
I want to be pure in my motives.
Please help me to make the right
decisions about my work.
Oh God, let my heart be as You
desire of me.
Help me to build the bridge that
will help build Your Kingdom in
the hearts of men.
Help me to be docile and humble
understanding and loving.
Help me to not be consoled as
much as to console.
Help me to trust in You and
surrender myself to You.
God, I give You my heart now
I give You my life —
I ask for light to see my faults
and grace to help me change
them.
I want to be as You want me to be.
I want to love as You want me
to love.
I want wholeness in my life.
I want to operate from Your
strength, not relying on my
might but Your might.
The wind blows and things can be
moved by its gentle breeze or
torrential nature —
let me be as putty in the hands
of the potter, not stiff and dry and
old, but ready to be moved following
Your light.
Oh God impart to me LIGHT —
Help me to love —
Make me supple in Your hands —
Rain falls from the sky and the
person can get really wet when
standing in the rain.
Oh God outpour Your grace
to me.
Let me be saturated with
Your love.
Let my life be more deeply in
You.
As the morning light steals across
a darkened sky — let your light
shine in my heart and change the
dark corners to corners of brilliant
light filled with knowledge of You.
Jesus speaks:
A Nation will rise if it is
pure. The deterioration of the nations
have come because of the sin of
the people.
Pure light is a joy to one
who can behold it.
Darkness comes and misery is
felt in their places. Corners of
mud, fighting, desolation,
hatred — DARKNESS — from
the father of lies.
The devil works in secrecy —
first to thine own self be true.
A child begins to develop bad
habits when they hide things from
their parents, as an adult they may
know this patterned behavior from
how they lived their life — causing
imbalance in communities as they
hide vital parts of information.
Hiding information that is pertinent
can be a control mechanism, a passive-
aggressive means of being higher, in
their own mind, over the authority.
A man was given a position of
power in an organization, but he was
not the head. He resented his position
always being envious that he was
not the main leader.
He was bitter, befriending those
in positions under him and demeaning
the head. He told himself he was
a faithful servant, but in his
heart he was bitter, resentful
of the person over him and
this impurity of intention affected
the whole chemistry of all relationships
in the organization.
Pride can be a driving force of those
underneath.
Where the operation could operate
at top efficiency and power, the
games were constantly played.
Passive-aggressive means to
"equalize" the authority.
The boss was demeaned and
made to look weak as others tried
to emotionally control the situation.
How is your acceptance of the
role you have been given? Do you
harbor resentment, bitterness, toward
your superiors — resentment and bitterness
you do not even recognize you harbor?
Is your actions like a "stubborn
mule"? Are you a game player of
manipulation affecting the disposition
of all because of your attitude
and resentment so deep down you
will not even admit it to yourself?
There is a big pan of apples and
there is water in the pan. The apples
come to the top.
Is your attitude like a "bobbing
apple" what is most important
to you is "YOU" and not the job
at hand.
Leaders are only leaders for Me
if they stay connected to Me. If
a man makes his own kingdom
he does just that. He becomes
the king — he calls his cohorts.
Secrecy is a means of power and
control. A person wanting to show
their own power to others withholds
important information watching
those over them struggle to attain
the necessary information.
Some have dealings with others
under them causing feelings of hurt
and resentment of those under them
which end in a house of cards —
The main leader is then forced to handle
the disgruntled party and the
middle leader sits in a position
of power watching cards fall
from his superior dealing with
the disgruntled angry other.
They watch with smugness
quietness, knowing full well their
own anger started the whole thing —
secretly hiding their involvement —
they may even come in as a hero
to help the situation — when in
fact — they created it, they caused
it and they secretly hide their
involvement, do not own up to
the truth and walk away
the hero having settled it all —
smoothed feathers and looked
like the "level-headed" person,
helpful, a real hero, fixing
things for everyone.
WHAT A WASTE OF
LIFE — So one can be up
they stage this play — like a
performance of acts — always
ending up the hero, after their anger
began the whole thing.
This happens time and time again for
anyone dealing with them — it is
how they "equalize" the position
of power and become a hero.
The bottom line is it is emotionally
controlling, manipulative, dysfunctional
and hurts people, just to raise themselves
high.
Oh the games people play. Mary Lou
was a girl in charge of others. She did
things that made her superior look
weak, things fell in around her and
the superior had to deal with the
problems. Mary Lou in her sick
way wanted to look more powerful,
by discrediting her superior and
making her superior look weak
she felt she was raised up.
Basically she wanted to be in
charge — she liked being over people —
she didn't want to be under anyone.
Although she served and what looked
like to others — in perfect fashion —
underneath there were power
plays through secrecy and maneuvers
to make those over her look weak.
There was constant unrest in the
operation because of the secrecy
and the lack of truth to admit
bitterness and resentment for
the job held by the person
over them.
Fr. Carter said to pray for
faithfulness to your vocation —
faithfulness and perseverance to
your vocation.
So much time is wasted
because of games people play for
their own recognition.
Purity is paramount.
Acts 20: 28-38
‘Be on your guard for yourselves and for all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you the guardians, to feed the Church of God which he bought with the blood of his own Son.
‘I know quite well that when I have gone fierce wolves will invade you and will have no mercy on the flock. Even from your own ranks there will be men coming forward with a travesty of the truth on their lips to induce the disciples to follow them. So be on your guard, remembering how night and day for three years I never slackened in counselling each one of you with tears. And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace that has power to build you up and to give you your inheritance among all the sanctified.
‘I have never asked anyone for money or clothes; you know for yourselves that these hands of mine earned enough to meet my needs and those of my companions. By every means I have shown you that we must exert ourselves in this way to support the weak, remembering the words of the Lord Jesus, who himself said, "There is more happiness in giving than in receiving." ’
When he had finished speaking he knelt down with them all and prayed. By now they were all in tears; they put their arms round Paul’s neck and kissed him; what saddened them most was his saying they would never see his face again. Then they escorted him to the ship.

Jesus speaks:
St. Paul left —
they never saw his face again —
Fr. Carter left — you never
saw his face again —
Jealousy can be a big block to productivity,
As is pride —
Envy
Structure is paramount in the
Church.
Power comes from God.
Many disobey the rules of the
Church.
Secrecy can be used as a means
of control — power.
A man spent much of his time
manipulating others. He had a position
of power and if someone treated
him, what he thought, as incorrectly,
he used the organization to get even —
he blocked work that needed to be
done, while he worked out his
vendetta on the people
You have seen this at work. Favoritism
which was just that, while a big
"deal" goes down the tubes.
People controlling for power only.
Making their superiors look weak
and walking away with a little
hidden grin on their face.
Betty was a girl of 12, she played games
trying to manipulate her parents. It hurt
the family and Betty did it for the power
of watching her parents lose control.
Betty liked it. She watched her mom work
out the little "fires she had created"
and Betty walked away looking
like she didn't do anything. Betty
resented her parents control over
her life. At age twelve — she was
a master in doing this, just for her
own satisfaction her parents weren't
winning over her.
Some manipulation is so subtle —
some so hidden.
Time and time again things on the
surface, never appear as they really
are because of hidden deception,
lies, manipulation caused because
of games played for prideful
reasons and desire to control.
Why do you waste your precious
time on earth, when souls are at
stake?
The Ignatian retreat is so important,
when done properly, the retreats I
am giving in China to lead men
to a greater understanding of sin
and purity of motives and praying
for grace to do God's will.
The retreats in China St. Ignatius/
Shepherds of Christ are designed to help one
in all walks of life to better act in
purity and love and know how to pray
for grace for healing and advancement
in the spiritual life.
People act out problems in
failed relationships in other places,
divorces, childhood on the people
they interact with many times.
Commitment is vital. The
giving of oneself purely to the
job at hand not to work out
old unmet needs or bad
patterned behaviors on others.
Prayer is essential. Daily Mass,
time before the tabernacle — one hour
daily — helps provide the grace needed
to see more clearly, but one must
pray for grace to see their faults.
A person complained and complained
to a friend of their bad patterned
behavior — the friend really didn't
want to change. When they had a
problem with someone from their
family they worked it out on
the others.
Power plays are used often. One
loses power here and works it out
on another seizing power there.

Sing: Take Lord Receive
Song: Prayer for Union with Jesus
Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.
Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart. (refrain)
I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.
Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart. (refrain)
I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.
Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart. (refrain)
When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.
Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart. (refrain)
Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart. (refrain)

136. THE FOURTH DAY
A MEDITATION ON TWO STANDARDS
The one of Christ, our supreme leader and lord,
the other of Lucifer, the deadly enemy of our
human naturePRAYER. The usual preparatory prayer.
window at a former Jesuit Seminary
137. FIRST PRELUDE. This is the history. Here it will be that Christ calls and wants all beneath His standard, and Lucifer, on the other hand, wants all under his.
138. SECOND PRELUDE. This is a mental representation of the place. It will be here to see a great plain, comprising the whole region about Jerusalem, where the sovereign Commander-in-Chief of all the good is Christ our Lord; and another plain about the region of Babylon, where the chief of the enemy is Lucifer.
139. THIRD PRELUDE. This is to ask for what I desire. Here it will be to ask for a knowledge of the deceits of the rebel chief and help to guard myself against them; and also to ask for a knowledge of the true life exemplified in the sovereign and true Commander, and the grace to imitate Him.
FIRST PART
THE STANDARD OF SATAN
140. FIRST POINT. Imagine you see the chief of all the enemy in the vast plain about Babylon, seated on a great throne of fire and smoke, his appearance inspiring horror and terror.
141. SECOND POINT. Consider how he summons innumerable demons, and scatters them, some to one city and some to another, throughout the whole world, so that no province, no place, no state of life, no individual is overlooked.
142. THIRD POINT. Consider the address he makes to them, how he goads them on to lay snares for men and bind them with chains. First they are to tempt them to covet riches (as Satan himself is accustomed to do in most cases) that they may the more easily attain the empty honors of this world, and then come to overweening pride.
The first step, then, will be riches, the second honor, the third pride. From these three steps the evil one leads to all other vices.
SECOND PART
THE STANDARD OF CHRIST
143. In a similar way, we are to picture to ourselves the sovereign and true Commander, Christ our Lord.
144. FIRST POINT. Consider Christ our Lord, standing in a lowly place in a great plain about the region of Jerusalem, His appearance beautiful and attractive.
145. SECOND POINT. Consider how the Lord of all the world chooses so many persons, apostles, disciples, etc., and sends them throughout the whole world to spread His sacred doctrine among all men, no matter what their state or condition.
146. THIRD POINT. . . .

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $15 |
Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $15 |
Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $15 |
Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $15 |
Guiding Light — The Word Alive in Our Hearts. — Cycle A (partial) Homilies by the Reverend Joe Robinson given at St. Boniface Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is a tremendous honor Fr. Joe has allowed us to share these great gifts with you – for greater holiness and knowing more and more about God. $10 |

Priestly Newsletter — 2000 #1 — CD. — Christ is Our Strength — Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. It is so beautiful. "This brief passage contains one of the greatest lessons of the spiritual life. As we progress along our spiritual journey, we become increasingly aware of how weak we are in our—selves, but how strong we are in Christ. To experience our weakness involves suffering. The degree and kind of suffering can vary. The suffering can include the experience of the classical dark night of the spirit as described by St. John of the Cross. One of the main purposes of the dark night is to make a person keenly aware of his or her helplessness without God." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10 |

“In Medicine of Immortality, Father John Pasquini offers his readers the richness of Catholic devotional prayer, the wisdom of the Fathers and, most of all, the fruits of his own prayer and meditation before the Blessed Sacrament. I recommend this book to all who wish to grow in their love for the Lord, who sustains the life of His Church through the precious gift of His Body and Blood.” Francis Cardinal George, O.M.I., Archbishop of Chicago $10 |

Ecce Fides is a work dedicated to defending Catholic beliefs through reason, Scripture, and the life of the Holy Spirit. "It is important that we (as people of God) return to the source of life, our faith, which is usefully exposed in this volume, and take it out to our contemporaries, evangelizing them and their cultures and inculturating the Gospel." Cardinal – Pontifical Council for Culture – Vatican City $10 |
