Dear Father,

        I have received the copies of the "Shepherds of Christ" sent by
you and the books "Shepherds of Christ Associates". The articles
on The Christian Life of Grace, His relationship with the Holy
Trinity, church and the world are enlightening. The holy
priesthood is a special gift from God. According to Karl
Rahner true devotion to Mary strengthens the spiritual life.

        It is my privilege to know that the Shepherds of Christ
Newsletter is translated to Spanish, French and Portuguese.
Many faithful and religious draw spiritual fruit from this literature.
The Christian theology and spirituality is a way of life that
leads to love, friendship, charity, compassion, justice and concern.

        I am very happy that you printed my letter in the
magazine "Shepherds of Christ". I hope that you continue do so
in the future publications. There is need to renew the
world with the values of Christ.

Dear Editor,

                    Thank you for sending me your magazine 2001 - Issue 1. From the

notice given on page 5, I have learned of the death of Fr. Edward J. Carter S.J. on

18, 2000. He founded the Shepherds of Christ Movement and published the

quarterly magazine of which I and my priests are the regular receivers and readers.

While I am mourning his death, I am also praying for the repose of his soul. May

the merciful and loving Lord grant him eternal rest for the good he contributed to

many priests through his service.
