Consecration Prayer for Peace

I consecrate Russia and the Ukraine to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

I further consecrate the priests, the Church and the world to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary.

I do this in the name of Jesus in as far as I am able, united to the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, praying to the Father, in the Holy Spirit, with all the angels and saints and the souls in purgatory through the powerful intercession of Mary, Queen of Peace. Amen.

I further consecrate myself, all members of my family and ask the Holy Spirit to fill us. I spread the Blood of Jesus on all above, I cast the devil into hell away from all of us and consecrate all persons, in as far as I am able,  to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart.

Prayer for Grace for our Country

Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our president and leaders. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.

Sorrowful Mysteries

The Agony in the Garden

1. Jesus paid a precious price for our
    sins, bad habits of lust,
    of envy, of jealousy.
Always having to be on top –
    blocking others and God's
plan for them because of pride.
A pull to put ourselves first
    and block others' way for
    selfishness we deny.

2. Jesus is Divinely just, bad habits can
be life-long, they can keep a person
    closed-in, putting themselves
first – treating others and God's
plan - like an enemy –
when in fact we are bringing
    down a black-out shade that
closes down on our own heart
    and blocks the light and
pathway to our own holiness –
we see what the pride of Eve did to
    hurt the whole human race.

3. Disorder, sin, darkness, division,
entered the world when Eve wanted
to be equal to God and sinned
    against God in pride.

4. By the envy of the devil – think of the
envy the devil has to lead souls
away from God by repeated temptation
    and pull them in temptation
away from what God wants for
    them.

5. But we have a free will, to put God
    first or listen to satan!

6. We can perform acts repeatedly that
are deadly sins and tell ourselves
    sin does not have consequences.

7. Satan is the Father of lies, God is
Divinely just – all one has to
do is look at Jesus on the
    cross and know sin
offends God who is all good
and sin must be paid for.

Jesus showed us sins must be paid for –
    sin offends God.

8. Jealousy toward one's brother, who has
a destiny God wants and one acting
in envy to trip others up, on
their path to do God's will, is
    a malicious act.

9. We were created by our heavenly Father
to love Him first, and love and
    help our brothers and sisters
    in Christ.

10. Under cover – sneaky – a trap – the
devil works in darkness to try to
make a person turn from God
if the devil can get them to sin.

A heart of jealousy, or a heart
    like Jesus –
A heart of making one's brother
an enemy or a heart of seeing
they are God's son and daughter –
who are we to put ourselves
    above God's will and
above our brother and sister –
    in the Father's family.

And He saw all the jealous acts –
all of them, sneaky, isolating –
    closing down and Jesus
sweat blood – God is love –
God is all good, God is so
good to us and He said
    'Thy will be done' when
    He could have stopped
    all He suffered because
He came to give us life.

The Scourging at the Pillar

1. Sin must be paid for. 60 years of
    jealousy and treating our brother
with pride and envy – this
    is sin - repeatedly covering
up – making a balancing act
so the lie remains – the
lie of acting against God's will –
    in our heart –
    in our mind -
and God put us here to be
pure – to love one another –
to open up to others and
        let them in.

2. A dog was run over by a car and bleeding,
when a vet finally got to him –
the dog did not want to be touched –
he hissed and tried to bite the
vet and not let him look at
    his wounded and bloodied body.

3. Jesus' body was beaten and wounded
    raw for years and years
    of denying deadly sins that
    make our brothers enemies because
    of jealousy, envy, pride, hatred,
    selfishness –
Jesus paid for our sins so we could
go to Him and ask for forgiveness,
but some will not even admit they
    sin or ask for forgiveness.

4. Sin must be paid for, it offends
a good God. Jesus paid for
our sins, so we can be
    forgiven and still have
    our destiny God created
us for to go eternally to heaven.

5. The whips came down fiercely on
Jesus while His hands and feet
were tied down and He allowed
this – He could have stopped
it – Jesus is the Son of God –
Jesus loved us so much He
    was beaten raw for our
    sins, flesh flaking off
    into the air.

6. Jesus stood in a puddle of His
    own blood.

Jesus' body was pierced from head
    to toe –

Repeated torture because of
    stubborn, willful sins many
deny and try to mask the
    true darkness of their
    hearts.

7. Con artists lie and try to pass off
    another image.
God created us to be the real deal,
    a person following Jesus, growing
in His image and likeness, loving
    others, our brothers and sisters,
    genuinely.

8. I was with my brother Fr. Joe and
he was reading a prayer book.
When he said Mass he would
call us brothers and sisters with
such love. I always felt his
genuine love for us all at Mass
and I knew I was loved by
    Him and Jesus.

Fr. Joe always loved, I saw Jesus
    in his tenderness.

I saw Jesus in the genuine love
    Fr. Carter had for everyone.

I see the love Fr. Mike has for
us all and so selfless –

They were priests going out to others
    because Jesus was operating
in His power in their hearts.
    Genuine supernatural love –
    beyond and above natural
love – giving – seeing others,
    helping others, selflessness.

God is love, in Him is no
    darkness.

9. It is injustice when a man hides
    his envy, jealousy, maliciousness,
    trying to block another's way,
    doing God's will – then
    refusing to admit the sin,
    when Jesus suffered so, so
    we could be forgiven,
    a man sinning, refusing
    to admit it must pay
    for their sin –

Sin has consequences.

Jesus shows us, sin has
    consequences and
Jesus was whipped at the pillar
for our sins, the sins of
    jealousy, envy, pride,
    life-long, that men continue
    hiding, masking for
    pride and darkness in them,
    against God's will.

10. God loves our brothers. God created
    our brothers, God created the
    embryos that are being
    aborted and killed –
    Sin has consequences.

Pray for the grace to love Jesus and
    be full of gratitude, for
    all He did for us.

Pray for the grace to live God's will
    and not be, malicious putting
    ourselves above our
brothers in pride, envy and jealousy.

The Crowning with Thorns

1. Jesus' head was crowned with a
    crown of thorns, pounded into
    His Head. Pounded into His
head for the sins of the minds,
    putting ourselves as enemies
    against our brothers.

2. God gives us a family. He put us in
that family to learn love of
    Father and Mother, brothers
    and sisters.

    No matter how we suffered
    with our earthly father, we
    have a Heavenly Father,
that loves us so much, and
    never leaves us.
    Dear Father, we are Your
child, you created us for a
    purpose, help us to love
others, to make this world a
    better place, more in the
    image of Jesus.
    Dear Father give us the
    grace to live our vocation
    as You desire.

3. Life is a gift, every day,
every hour, our prayers can
be heard for the other side
of the world.

Jesus, please help us in our need.
The prayers of families for
each other are so powerful.
The prayers for those we love,
prayers prayed in love for those
we love are so powerful.

The most powerful is
genuine love, because God
is in this.
Those with hard, closed
hearts need to reach out
when they feel like closing up.
Keep loving, don’t close up.
Jesus comes in love.
The devil comes to isolate
and divide, to shut down.
Those we love need our
openness and our love.

4. Be not afraid to love. God is
in genuine love.

God so loved the world, He
sent His only begotten Son. John 3: 16

Love finds a way!!!

Jesus sacrificed for us that
we can live. Death/
Resurrection. Jesus laid
down His life so we could
live. He gave His life for our
sins.
Jesus, deliver us from the
enemy. God is joy.
Happiness is in Him. Jesus
gives us new life in
baptism, we receive a
sharing in His life in
baptism.

5. Life here is temporary, but
Jesus shows us there is life
after death, He rose from
the dead.

Jesus gave the last beat of
His Heart and the last drop
of His blood for our sins.
Life is a challenge, we have
a free will to follow God's
Plan for us.

The distance, lack of love
with others, can come from
fear to be hurt in
relationships because of
past abuse, anger,
bitterness, from the past.

6. God heals, you have to
admit what has shut you
down and ask for God’s
healing.

Love, faith, hope, the 3
theological virtues,
because God must provide
the grace that is needed to
increase these supernatural
virtues we received in baptism.

We need God to grow in
these virtues.

Love and forgiveness.

7. Jesus was bloodied front and
back from the top of His
    head to His feet.

His head was crowned, with such
    blood coming from eyes
    and mouth etc. –

How can we think that sin
    does not have consequences?

Jesus was beaten front and back –
    head, body, feet –

He was severely scourged for
the sins of the mind, the
    body, nails binding Him
    in His hands and feet.

Jesus' head beaten, crowned,
    blood coming out and
    the proof we have the
    cloth of Veronica,
    the cloth wrapped His
    body.

8. Eve did not obey God.
    God gives us the commandments.
Confession is for us to recognize
        we are accountable and
        responsible for our sins.
    Jesus shows us He lived
        "Thy will be done."
You are not to ignore your
        sins.
The devil wants to make right - wrong
        and wrong - right.

9. Distorted thinking – rationalizing
why you can see others as
    enemies and why you
    rationalize you can trap,
    hurt, abuse, cover-up
    your schemes to be the
one on top. (i.e. Like you
have a concrete block on your
head, you live in a little world
of your own making, and tell
yourself you have the right to
    ignore the dignity of others
    created by God

10. Sing: Choose Life

    Sing: We Have Been Told

The Carrying of the Cross

1. Meditate on Jesus, carrying the
    heavy cross, laden with the
    sins of the world.

Jesus died for our sins!!!

2. We are privileged to have Jesus
    tell us about our sins,
    His passion and to know
    the Good News and spread
it. If the devil can get a
    person through temptation,
they give into life-long - to
    hide their dark hearts and
block others doing God's will –
the devil can have that person
    working for him.

3. Jesus calls us to work for Him, to
do the Father's will, to build
    the Kingdom of God.

A man was walking and another
    guy came and held his
legs to stop him. The man holding
his legs with malice is to stop
    him from doing God's will
    for him.

4. Jesus carried the cross and fell
    under it three times for
those who try to stop a
    righteous man doing God's will.

Sin has consequences.

How could men build something
    in the dark?

We were put here to build a
    Kingdom of Light and follow
    in the footsteps of Jesus.

5. Jesus had enemies for doing His Father's
work. Wherever a person is doing
the work of God, walking in love,
helping promote the Kingdom of God –
    the devil tempts others to
oppose them and try to stop
    them.

We are at battle. It is in
serving God we help build the
Kingdom of God. We are not in
    charge – God is.

6. Sin has consequences. Sin
must be paid for. People growing
more and more in the deadly
    sins are attracted to their
    sins, they have some
    pay-off for what they're doing
seeking dominance for dominance sake –
    power-over,
    control,
    getting even,
    joy from getting away with
        evil done to others –

7. We were put here to grow in
the image of Jesus, by living
    a holy life, likened to
    Jesus.

8. How can we reach into the
    mysteries of God when
    we are capped with
    this attraction and pull
    to the deadly sins?

9. Humility is truth. It is a realization
    we are creatures of God.

Humility is telling us the truth
    about our sins and the
    truth about Jesus;
    telling ourselves the truth
    about us and our brothers
    and sisters we are commanded
    to love.

Look at how Jesus and Mary loved
    us.

10. Humility tells us we recognize our gifts,
but we admit the evil in us.
This is truth. We must live in
truth if we want to grow in
    the image of Jesus.
    He is absolute truth.
Lying about the evil in us
fills us with more and more
        darkness.

As a creature of God I am to
    conform myself into
    God's will for me.

Humility helps the Christian
    evaluate both good and
    evil in them.

The Crucifixion

1. Christianity is a life of love.
The Christian is one who opens
    himself to God's love and
responds with love of his own.
Jesus shows us this on the cross.

The Christian also realizes that
his life is not only a love
    relationship with God, but
also a going out of his
    self-centeredness to
    other human persons
in various forms of Christian love.

Finally, the Christian is one who realizes
that in one way or another he
needs the love of others and
    is willing to open himself
    to this love.

2. We are the People of God, we
    must give witness before
    others to God, not close-up
    and live selfishly –

Look at Jesus who gave the
last drop of His Blood and
the last beat of His Heart.

3. John 3: 16

For this is how God loved the world:
he gave his only Son,
so that everyone who believes in him
    may not perish
but may have eternal life.

4. We are to respond to God's love –
Look at Jesus' love in His
    Passion and death –
    turning-in, closing-up,
    living in pride and jealousy,
    envy, treating one's brothers
    and sisters as enemies to
    undercoverly block their
    efforts to show worship
and love to God – is
    malicious and evil!

5. In the life of the Church –
    human relationships are
    to flourish and grow. Christ
is the head of the body the
    Church, we are members
    of the body.

6. We are to witness to loving others
    and be loved by them.

These relationships prepare me
    for heaven – I must
    open up to be
    able to receive God's love
    and respond to it.

Our relationships are about
God and our love of Him
    and others.

Jesus, Son of God. Jesus the Light of the world.

7. Excerpt from Response in Christ by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J.

e) Relationship with Members of the Church

There is but one true Church of Christ. Yet this one Church has three different states of existence. There is the pilgrim Church, the Church of this world, composed of members who have received the grace of Christ and strive for its development. They have not yet obtained the goal of their efforts, as have the members of the heavenly Church, who enjoy God in eternal happiness. The Church suffering is an intermediate state of existence necessary for those who had not achieved the required purification as members of the pilgrim Church. Although there are these three phases of the Church’s existence, there is a profound union existing between all the members. All these members possess the same basic life of grace in Christ, and this common life establishes the most intimate bonds of love. In our preceding chapter, we discussed the pilgrim Church. Let us now consider the Church suffering and the heavenly Church.

The members of the Church suffering are those who have departed from this life in an incomplete state of Christian development. Their development is incomplete in the sense that grace has not fully taken possession of them, and, as a result, they are yet closed in upon themselves to a greater or lesser degree. They as yet cannot open themselves out in complete love to the Triune God in the beatific vision. They must undergo a further purification, a purification which could have been achieved upon earth with merit. Now the purification must be achieved with no merit attached. The pain of this purification is mixed with the certain expectation of achieving the vision of God. We can hasten the advent of this vision for this people by the offering of prayers and other good works. Scripture itself refers to our action on behalf of those in purgatory in Chapter 12 of the Second Book of Maccabees beginning with verse 38.

        8. Response in Christ continues

The members of the heavenly Church are those in whom the life of grace has taken full possession and has reached its completion in the life of glory. Faith now is unnecessary, as the light of glory gives the human intellect a new strength and capacity for seeing God face-to-face. While the Christian was a wayfarer, he received the imprint of the indwelling Trinity as he shared in God’s own life. Now in heaven that grace-life and possession of God reaches its completion—the absolute completion is not achieved, however, until the resurrection of the body. The divine persons give Themselves to the beatified in a profound union far surpassing that of the indwelling of the Trinity experienced here below.

This life of heaven is still the Christ-life, for just as we possess a share in Trinitarian life here below as mediated by Christ, and exercise this grace-life as structured by Him, so also in heaven is the mediation of Christ present. In the words of Rahner, "One always sees the Father through Jesus. Just as immediately as this, for the directness of the vision of God is not a denial of the mediatorship of Christ as man."14 And not only does the humanity of Christ unite the blessed to God, but also, in some way, to the whole of creation. This is merely a completion of what is begun here below, namely, the union with Christ in His humanity establishing the Christian in a special relationship with God, with other men, and with the whole of creation. We have a glimpse, therefore, of the fullness of life which members of the heavenly Church possess.

        9. Response in Christ continues

The heavenly Church, as St. Thomas says, is the true Church.15 The Church of this earth and the Church of purgatory are, each in its own way, reaching out in loving hope for the heavenly Jerusalem. Vatican II puts it very simply: "The Church, to which we are called in Christ Jesus, and in which we acquire sanctity through the grace of God, will attain her full perfection only in the glory of heaven."16

The members of the heavenly Church can help us in living our life of grace until we too share its fullness with them. Their power of intercession on our behalf is but another ramification of the communal aspect of Christianity. We are meant to help others grow in Christ. We, in turn, are intended by God to receive aid from others—yes, from members of the heavenly Church, as well as from those with whom we dwell here below.

Not only can we be aided by the saints’ intercession, but the example of the canonized saints can also be of great value to us. They have concretely proved that full holiness is possible. Such an inspiration is of real worth when we are tempted to think that Christian sanctity in its higher degrees is impossible of attainment. Moreover, the canonized saints, in their diversity, teach us that there are many authentic versions of Christian holiness. They can be innovators in showing us that there are numerous possibilities in assimilating the mystery of Christ, although the basic assimilation remains the same for all Christians of all times. In the opinion of Rahner this is one of the chief roles the canonized saints exert in the life of the Church.17

This is my Body, This is My Blood

10. When we actively love others
    as God desires, we are
    loving God.
    What we do to others
    we do to Jesus –
    Sin has consequences –
    Games of abuse,
    malice of intent
    truth about the good and
        evil in us is necessary.

A child fell in a mud puddle,
    should she stay there –

We need balance –
    Body, Mind and Soul –

If we keep digging a grave
    one shovel at a time
    eventually we have to
get in the hole to keep
    digging - how
    low do we go?

We are here to follow in
    the footprints of

Jesus and grow in
    His image and likeness.

Living and backing ourselves everyday
to a closed in corner of
    sin and darkness –
    IS not living –

Jesus gave so our sins
    could be forgiven –

Some won't even admit
    evil in them –

Their lives are lived for
    power and control –
    they are not maturing
    in love –

Mary's Message
from the Rosary of August 27, 1996

Mary:  I stood beneath the cross of my Son, and my Heart was in such pain for I saw Him before my eyes. I saw Him covered with blood. I saw Him die. My Heart, my children, my Heart to watch my Son, but my Heart, my Heart, how I suffered for my little children of the world that give in to this world and give up the love of my Son. O my little children of light, I give you this message. Carry this light into the darkness for your Mother Mary, for I stood beneath the cross and I cried. I cried for the little ones. I cried for the young ones, the ones that do not care and will lose their souls. How do I make you see for you will not listen to me? What can I do? I come. I appear. I beg. I plead. I give you these gifts from my Son, and you reject me. I do not deliver messages very often anymore for I have been ignored. The message is the same. You do not read the messages I have given to you. Please help me. Help the little children. I appear. I appear. I appear, and I am ignored. I stood beneath the cross, and I cried. I cried, and my Heart was in such anguish for my little children, for I am searching for them this day as I searched for the Child Jesus. Please, please help me. I cannot hold back the hand of my Son any longer. I am Mary, your Mother. I ask you to help my children. You are my children of light. end of Mary's Message

Excerpt from Response in Christ - Chapter 7

          b)  Penance

Christian self-discipline or mortification, then, looks to a proper control of one's total being. This control is necessary for the avoidance of sin and the proper functioning of the life of grace. There is another form of the cross which some people confuse with the self-discipline we have just discussed. The form of the cross we speak of is that of penance.

Christian penance does not have the same basic purpose as self-discipline. Christian self-discipline looks rather to the proper living of the Christian life in the present and future, whereas penance looks to the sinful past. Penance, therefore, is a virtue which includes a sorrow for sin, a purpose of amendment, and a desire to make atonement or satisfaction for sin. As with the entire Christian life, penance is primarily, although not exclusively, an interior attitude.6

Penance, or satisfaction for sin, is an essential part of the life of the Church and the individual Christian because both are called upon to continue Christ's redemptive Incarnation. One aspect of Christ's redemptive work consisted in making satisfaction for sin. This aspect of Christ's life should always be part of the Church's existence and that of the individual Christian. Furthermore, certain members of the Church are called to give special attention to the prolongation of Christ making satisfaction for sin. In this category are those who are called to a form of religious life primarily dedicated to making reparation for sin.

The Christian in a special manner makes satisfaction for sin in the accomplishment of the sacramental penance imposed in confession. But he is also expected to do more than this, and the opportunities are readily available, for the inevitable hardships and difficulties of life can take on the value of penance. It all depends on my attitude. I can go about my day in a spirit of love, and this is all important. But other attitudes can be present, and should be to some extent at least. One of these attitudes or dimensions of my Christian perspective should be that of penance, or of making satisfaction for my own sins and those of others.

We should first of all seize the more obvious opportunities of doing penance. To accept properly the inevitable crosses which God permits can be an excellent form of penance. Another excellent form of penance is to bear with the pain, effort and difficulty which we all experience to some extent in fulfilling our life's work.

It is evident that there can be a considerable degree of penance in my life simply through the proper living of the human situation. But to be aware fully of the fact that I am in part a sinner, and that I should be aware of my responsibility to make satisfaction for sin, it seems that from time to time I have to perform additional acts of penance. The performance of such acts of supererogation have found a constant place in the history of Christian spirituality. As long as this manner of penance is performed with Christian prudence, there is no reason for saying that such a practice is no longer relevant.

Guiding Light - Reflect on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Litugical Year (2011/2012)
$ 10.00

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B     The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $10

Guiding Light - Steadfast to the Son
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle A of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A    The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $10

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B    At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $10

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle C of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C    In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $10
