2 Corinthians 11:1-11
I wish you would put up with a little foolishness from me – not that you don't do this already. The jealousy that I feel for you is, you see, God’s own jealousy: I gave you all in marriage to a single husband, a virgin pure for presentation to Christ. But I am afraid that, just as the snake with his cunning seduced Eve, your minds may be led astray from single-minded devotion to Christ. Because any chance comer has only to preach a Jesus other than the one we preached, or you have only to receive a spirit different from the one you received, or a gospel different from the one you accepted – and you put up with that only too willingly. Now, I consider that I am not in the least inferior to the super-apostles. Even if there is something lacking in my public speaking, this is not the case with my knowledge, as we have openly shown to you at all times and before everyone.
Have I done wrong, then, humbling myself so that you might be raised up, by preaching the gospel of God to you for nothing? I was robbing other churches, taking wages from them in order to work for you. When I was with you and needed money, I was no burden to anybody, for the brothers from Macedonia brought me as much as I needed when they came; I have always been careful not to let myself be a burden to you in any way, and I shall continue to be so. And as Christ's truth is in me, this boast of mine is not going to be silenced in the regions of Achaia. Why should it be? Because I do not love you? God knows that I do.
Sing from the heart:
Your works, O Lord, are Justice and Truth
Psalm 111: 1-8Alleluia!
I give thanks to Yahweh with all my heart,
in the meeting–place of honest people, in the assembly.
Great are the deeds of Yahweh,
to be pondered by all who delight in them.Full of splendour and majesty his work,
his saving justice stands firm for ever.
He gives us a memorial of his great deeds;
Yahweh is mercy and tenderness. He gives food to those who fear him,
he keeps his covenant ever in mind.
His works show his people his power
in giving them the birthright of the nations. The works of his hands are fidelity and justice,
all his precepts are trustworthy,
established for ever and ever,
accomplished in fidelity and honesty.
Romans 8: 15
for what you received was not the spirit of slavery to bring you back into fear; you received the Spirit of adoption, enabling us to cry out, ‘Abba, Father!’
Matthew 6: 7-15
In your prayers do not babble as the gentiles do, for they think that by using many words they will make themselves heard. Do not be like them; your Father knows what you need before you ask him. So you should pray like this:
Our Father in heaven,
may your name be held holy,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we have forgiven those
who are in debt to us.
And do not put us to the test,
but save us from the Evil One.‘Yes, if you forgive others their failings, your heavenly Father will forgive you yours; but if you do not forgive others, your Father will not forgive your failings either.
Ecclesiastes 1: 1-11Composition of Qoheleth son of David, king in Jerusalem. Sheer futility, Qoheleth says. Sheer futility: everything is futile! What profit can we show for all our toil, toiling under the sun? A generation goes, a generation comes, yet the earth stands firm for ever. The sun rises, the sun sets; then to its place it speeds and there it rises. Southward goes the wind, then turns to the north; it turns and turns again; then back to its circling goes the wind. Into the sea go all the rivers, and yet the sea is never filled, and still to their goal the rivers go. All things are wearisome. No one can say that eyes have not had enough of seeing, ears their fill of hearing. What was, will be again, what has been done, will be done again, and there is nothing new under the sun! Take anything which people acclaim as being new: it existed in the centuries preceding us. No memory remains of the past, and so it will be for the centuries to come – they will not be remembered by their successors.

Remember – that every season
has a purpose
Ecclesiastes 3: 1-11
There is a season for everything, a time for every occupation under heaven:
A time for giving birth,
a time for dying;
a time for planting,
a time for uprooting what has been planted.
A time for killing,
a time for healing;
a time for knocking down,
a time for building.
A time for tears,
a time for laughter;
a time for mourning,
a time for dancing.
A time for throwing stones away,
a time for gathering them;
a time for embracing,
a time to refrain from embracing.
A time for searching,
a time for losing;
a time for keeping,
a time for discarding.
A time for tearing,
a time for sewing;
a time for keeping silent,
a time for speaking.
A time for loving,
a time for hating;
a time for war,
a time for peace.
3Excerpt from Priestly Newsletter 1998 - ISSUE FOUR
Shortly before he was to die from cancer, Joseph Cardinal Bernardin left us these inspiring words about peace: "It is the first day of November, and fall is giving way to winter. Soon the trees will lose the vibrant colors of their leaves and snow will cover the ground. The earth will shut down, and people will race to and from their destinations bundled up for warmth. Chicago winters are harsh. It is a time of dying.
"But we know that spring will soon come with all its new life and wonder.
"It is quite clear that I will not be alive in the spring. But I will soon experience new life in a different way...
"What I would like to leave behind is a simple prayer that each of you may find what I have found—God's special gift to us all: the gift of peace. When we are at peace, we find the freedom to be most fully who we are, even in the worst of times. We let go of what is non-essential and embrace what is essential. We empty ourselves so that God may more fully work within us. And we become instruments in the hands of the Lord."

Jesus: I obeyed My Father's will to My
death on the cross.
Mary loved the Father's will –
Betty loved God's will –
She surrendered her life to God.
Mary was the perfect handmaid
of the Lord.
Priestly Newsletter Book II - September/October 1997
In all this Mary offers an example. Selfishness was totally foreign to her. She did not belong to herself. She belonged to God. She was not closed in upon herself. She was completely open to God. When God spoke, she listened. When God pointed the way, she followed. She realized that life is not a process a person masters by carefully mapping out one's own self-conceived plans of conquest, but a mystery to be gradually experienced by being open to God's personal and loving guidance.
Selfishness, then, did not close Mary off from God's call. Neither did fear. God asked her to assume a tremendous responsibility. He asked her to be the Mother of Jesus. Mary did not engage in a process of false humility and say that such a great role was above her. She did not say that she did not have the proper qualifications for this awesome mission. Briefly, she did not waste time looking at herself, making pleas that she was not worthy, telling the angel he had better go look for someone else. No, Mary did not look at herself. Her gaze was absorbed in God. She fully realized that whatever God asked of her, His grace would accomplish. She fully realized that although she herself had to cooperate, this work was much more God's than hers.
Mary's words, then, truly sum up what is the authentic Christian response at any point of life, in any kind of situation: "I am the handmaid of the Lord," said Mary, "let what you have said be done to me".
R. Jesus leads we follow –
Jesus: The Holy Spirit works in lives –
the lives following the will of God –
there is unity –
there is love –
there is order –
there is dependence on God –
there is predictability –
there is trust –
there is being true to God and
true in heart –
Remember the corporal works of
mercy –
to feed the hungry –
to give drink to the thirsty –
to clothe the naked –
to visit the sick –
to ransom captives –
to bury the dead
Love – Charity – Mercy toward
your brothers
to care for other men and love them –
R. We are to help men to see Jesus in
other men. What we do to others
we do to Jesus.
We are to help men to know God –
spiritual works of mercy –
instruct the ignorant –
to work with those who God
has called us to work with –
Every job, at work, has people
working together, taking
directions – structure
Eve wanted to be INDEPENDENT of God –
Eve wanted to be equal to God –
Why there are so many chiefs and
no people working to support
is why things don't grow –
When we see a team – we see team
players – we see a head –
we see brothers working
toward one – We see obedience
to directions given from the head –
Jesus showed us
Jesus the Son of God
Jesus God
Obeyed His Father to His death
on the cross
The fool lives to be over the
authority and show their
disobedience before the community
to whip out structure –
Structure keeps things operating
under a purpose
under a head
In the Holy Spirit sequence it says
"bend the stubborn heart and
will –
melt the frozen warm the chill –
guide the steps that go astray" –
There is a lot to be learned from Eve
in the Garden –
Pope John Paul II said this and Fr. Carter
put it in his most important
Newsletter on the Spiritual Life –
From the Priestly Newsletter Book III - 2000 Issue 3 p. 44-47
The Father's Will for Us - Our Source of Peace
Pope John Paul II instructs us: "The Church, as a reconciled and reconciling community, cannot forget that at the source of her gift and mission of reconciliation is the initiative, full of compassionate love and mercy, of that God who is love (see 1 John 4:8) and who out of love created human beings (see Wisdom 11:23-26; Genesis 1:27: Psalms 8:4-8)…He created them so that they might live in friendship with Him and in communion with one another.
"God is faithful to His eternal plan even when man, under the impulse of the evil one (see Wisdom 2:24) and carried away by his own pride, abuses the freedom given to him in order to love and generously seek what is good, and (instead) refuses to obey his Lord and Father. God is faithful even when man, instead of responding with love to God’s love, opposes Him and treats Him like a rival, deluding himself and relying on his own power, with the resulting break of relationship with the One who created him. In spite of this transgression on man’s part, God remains faithful in love.
"It is certainly true that the story of the Garden of Eden makes us think about the tragic consequences of rejecting the Father, which becomes evident in man’s inner disorder and in the breakdown of harmony between man and woman, brother and brother (see Genesis 3:12 ff; 4:1-16). Also significant is the Gospel parable of the two brothers (the parable of the ‘prodigal son’; see Luke 15:11-32) who, in different ways, distance themselves from their father and cause a rift between them. Refusal of God’s fatherly love and of His loving gifts is always at the root of humanity’s divisions.
"But we know that God…like the father in the parable (of the prodigal son), does not close His heart to any of His children. He waits for them, looks for them, goes to meet them at the place where the refusal of communion imprisons them in isolation and division. He calls them to gather about His table in the joy of the feast of forgiveness and reconciliation.
"This initiative on God’s part is made concrete and manifest in the redemptive act of Christ, which radiates through the world by means of the ministry of the Church." 13

13. Pope John Paul II, as in Celebrate 2000!, Servant Publications, pp. 140-141.
Jesus: There are a lot of independents out
there – that want nobody over
them –
that can have no trust in
nobody –
they don't see – this is against
the Father's will –
who commands men to love God first
and love their neighbor as themselves –
Jealousy, pride, anger, envy –
are all deadly sins that
are against one's neighbor –
they come from a very dark heart –
Anger to these can be where they
hug it, they don't do anything
to change their angry heart –
they can find a victim in their
present life to pin their anger
on – hurting people on purpose
because of their anger and
lying to themselves about the
fingers of darkness – so familiar
to them – like a friend they feel
at home with – the friend is
not in giving love, following the
greatest commandment –
the life of darkness is grabbing
a hissing snake and being
at home with jealousy, pride,
anger, envy –
A place like home they default to –
all they have to do is think an
angry thought and
they respond by hurting others –
clutching their space to spend
time at home with their anger –
This is not living in Me –
Life is not life – if it is not rooted
in Me –
The same old – same old – for the
independent fighting unity, love,
hope, seeing through the eyes
of the Father's plan
is finding home in control – isolation –
anger
and they do nothing to come out of it –
they hug their anger
they hug their isolation
they hug independence –
It is home to them –
I am the way, the truth and
the life –
A man is to love God and his neighbor –
His love is seen in his gestures,
his reverence,
his prayer
his obedience
hymns he sings to God –
He worships God –
His heart is God's
God rules his body and soul –
He loves God in his whole being –
R. God gives us our senses to love –
to see things holy –
to listen to holy things –
to kneel, to stand, to touch –
our body is part of our worship of God –
Jesus: Man in reverence before the Exposed Blessed
Sacrament is most beautiful to Me –
Man singing songs of praise
to God
You see the statues with your eyes
I gave you the Lady of Clearwater's
image to see –
what a gift –
I give you My face on the window
to pray before –
I gave you the large crucifix
to see, the grottos
I want love from you –
I want heartfelt love –
This comes in surrender of
your heart to God –
Prayer for Union with Jesus
Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.
I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.
I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.
When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.
-God's Blue Book, January 17, 1994
Luke 1: 46-55
And Mary said:
My soul proclaims
the greatness of the Lord
and my spirit rejoices
in God my Saviour;
because he has looked upon
the humiliation of his servant.
Yes, from now onwards
all generations will call me blessed,
for the Almighty
has done great things for me.
Holy is his name,
and his faithful love extends age after age
to those who fear him.
He has used the power of his arm,
he has routed the arrogant of heart.
He has pulled down princes
from their thrones
and raised high the lowly.
He has filled the starving with good things,
sent the rich away empty.
He has come to the help
of Israel his servant,
mindful of his faithful love
—according to the promise
he made to our ancestors—
of his mercy to Abraham
and to his descendants for ever.

On His Passion - August 23, 1993
Jesus: My dear child,
I was condemned to death, death on a cross. They gave Me a big cross and made Me carry it. They stood around and glared at Me. It weighed on My shoulder and I pulled at it until it finally moved. Every step was almost impossible as I dragged it, weighing so heavily on My shoulders. My shoulder felt as if the bones inside would crack and the cross would fall through to the ground. I couldn’t drag it any more. I tried, I fell. I fell and its weight fell on Me. A guard hit Me with something sharp. It really hurt because he wanted Me to move, and fast! People were watching—on with the show! How dare I fall in the middle of the show! He hit Me again and the blow really stung Me. I got up because it hurt so badly. I tried to walk on.
My Mother was in the crowd. She looked at Me and her face looked red and hurt. Tears rolled down her cheeks like rain and as her eyes met Mine, I was hurt so by her sorrow! She was always by My side, silent and loving. She was My mother of love! She is always there next to you when you suffer.
I fell again and he (the guard) really hit Me. It (the cross) was so heavy that he and I together could barely move it. It seemed as I walked, heavier with the sins of the world heaped on it. My hands were bleeding. Blood ran from the wounds of My thorns and My head throbbed, seeming to make the wounds in My head bleed even more. Some of the Blood was dried, some of it running all over My Body. I had so many cuts and bruises—and people watched and laughed!
I am Jesus, Son of the Living God, and they laughed and mimicked Me! Oh, such hardened hearts! How vile can men’s heart become? The devil’s grip is paralyzing and crippling.
The walk was so long up a hill and over rocks—the cross had to be lifted over the rocks. My Body was bleeding so badly! My heart was pounding. I knew that the salvation of all men depended on My love. Therefore, I went through such agony.
I thought of My intense love for you—that many would go to heaven because of My suffering—and I continued to the top of the hill. At the top they laid Me on the cross and with a big hammer nailed My hands to it. It was the worst (suffering) yet. My hands were nailed with big nails and the big hammer. Oh, it was unbelievable! Then, as if that weren’t enough, with a big nail they nailed through both feet.
Then they lifted the cross and banged it into (a hole in) the ground. My shoulders ached from how I hung. My head bobbed and My neck ached and they laughed and said, "Now save Yourself." I hurt so much! I suffered this way for hours—which seemed like forever—and they glared at Me and laughed! My Mother watched in such agony.
For love of you, to My death I gave you My Body. My child, I shed My Blood and gave you My life that you might be with Me forever in heaven—not for a day, a month or a year, but forever with Me in heaven.
I am the true Bread come down from heaven. He who eats My Flesh will have life forever. For the drink I give you is My Blood and food you eat is My Body. Who would lay down his life for a friend? I did, for you. I love you this much, child. Forget about those who reject you. You have My life that I gave you and I give you life eternal.
I am the One true God. I am the Light of life. He who abides in Me will have life eternal, for the drink I give is My Blood and the food I give is My Body. Drink and eat and have everlasting life.
My child, that is all you need to know. Love one another and be good that you may enter into My kingdom.

June 18, 2015 continues
Jesus: The secret to gaining eternal life is
how a man uses his free will
and has control over his
own actions.Man has a free will – to do God's
will or to oppose God's will. When God intends a man to
operate under just authority
and the person deliberately disobeys
set up division with those
representing God's authority to them.
They can further try to force their
rebellion by using their lives
to punish the person or institution
they were called to serve –A person of obedience controls
their actions, takes responsibility
for their actions and are accountable
for their actions.A person of rebellion can develop
vices, bad habits where they
manipulate and try to force
their rebellion on others –A person obedient is true to Jesus
in their heart –The focus of their final destiny
does not leave them –
They know their free actions,
chosen to do God's will –
leads them in the right direction
God wants –After years of rebellion, the lies
one is accustomed to tell
themselves of their valor
is so substantial –I am the way, the truth and
the life.A person has been given a free
will and they show love to
God and others by showing their
submissiveness to God's will –
not rebellion.Doing God's will – lifts a man
up – like the hot - air
balloon –The man must work to live
in God's will – the focus is
God.A man wanting to do God's will
has enemies to deal with.
Force can be used in punishment
and evil to try to get another
to do what is opposed to God.A man can use abuse, violence,
passive-aggressive ways to
try to force others to live in
their rebellion –A person can be consumed with
fear they must control
everything and manipulate
others through force to
obey them.
