Chapter Guidelines for Shepherds of Christ Associates

1. A primary purpose of the chapters of Shepherds of Christ Associates is to pray for all priests throughout the world in all their needs. A coequal purpose is to provide a spiritual way of life for members of the chapters. The chapters are to pray in a special way for the spiritual success of the priestly newsletter, Shepherds of Christ. Prayer for the acquisition of monetary funds to publish the letter is also in order. The chapters are to meet on a regular basis, with the members of each chapter to determine the exact frequency of meetings. All chapters are encouraged to meet on a weekly basis. If for various other reasons certain chapters cannot meet weekly, they should meet at least once a month.
     
2. All persons--lay persons, diocesan clergy, and priests, brothers, and sisters in religious life--are invited to become members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. Those who are already committed to a certain way of spiritual life may adapt the spirituality of Shepherds of Christ Associates to their own particular spirituality.
     
3. In addition to the purpose of the chapters as put forth above, the members of each chapter are encouraged to help raise money to defray some of the newsletter publication costs and some of the financial needs of the Shepherds of Christ Associates movement. One way for chapters to financially aid the newsletter is to pledge to pay for a certain number of newsletters each year. Our Lord has asked that the newsletter be sent to the priests free of charge, although donations may be requested in the newsletter itself.
    
4. A further purpose of the chapters is to undertake those activities which Jesus, through the Spiritual Director, further reveals to be His will.
    
5. The formation of as many chapters as is reasonably possible is to be encouraged. Multiple chapters may exist in the same city or area. Each chapter is to have its own local coordinator, and each country its own national coordinator.
    
6. A periodic newsletter for associates will be published to help establish the desired bond or union between all chapters and all members.
    
7. Members of Shepherds of Christ Associates pledge their loyal support to the Holy Father, the Pope, and to the teaching authority of the Church.
    
8. Shepherds of Christ Associates exists under Church law as provided in canons 298 and 299.
    
9. The existence and activity of all chapters is to be placed under the special protection and guidance of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Chapters exist so that they may, according to the mission of Shepherds of Christ Associates, help to establish the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the reign of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Messenger:        The devil works to try to get us to
                            run many times from something we need
                            to do.

                                Our meditation on the Passion shows
                            us how Christ endured to the end —
                                His throne His cross, He mounted it
                            and He gave His all for love of us.

                                He died on the cross.

                                He rose on the third day.

Jesus speaks:         Look into your hearts. See the red room
                            of My Heart. See the golden glow. Pray
                            for grace to know Me and My ways.

                                Oh you of little faith, you are as clogged
                            vessels and I am so pure. You let your vessel
                            be filled with debris — you stop the flow of
                            clean running water.

                                A man went to a store to buy a vessel, he looked
                            for one in size and shape for his purpose, he looked
                            in the vessel and saw particles, debris and in
                            the neck was a big mass of materials. He instantly
                            put the vessel down. Although the vessel was
                            appealing on the outside, the proper size and
                            shape, it was filled with debris. The part
                            used for pouring was majorly clogged and
                            would never pour. "Oh", he said, "What a beautiful
                            craft for anyone and yet it is as black
                            as coal inside, what a pity to be beautiful
                            on the outside and filled with junk inside."

                                I send to you My great gifts and you throw
                            them in My face.

                                Your rooms are filled with debris. I look
                            into your hearts, amongst the cavern of
                            red and the walls of light is the debris
                            hung like pictures on a wall.

                                When one person acts they may act with insecurities,
                            maybe at work, when they get home they may try
                            to get that power back from their family
                            that they feel they lost from people at work.

                                Checks and balances for some — a man went to
                            work — the whole time he was there he was self-
                            conscience, he felt as a "bull in a china shop".
                            He felt people were looking at him at work
                            and thinking of himself as "stupid". The devil
                            works in this situation — he can continually put
                            greater thoughts of insecurity in the mind of
                            the man. The man was so over-run with thoughts
                            of inadequacy and fear over what others thought
                            of him, he began dropping books and tripping
                            over his own feet. Like binding clothes, he
                            was tied up like a mummy in his own
                            thoughts. How could he be free to act
                            freely and perform the task at hand.

                                When I rose from the dead I dropped
                            the cloth and came forth victorious.
                            Lazarus body was prepared. He was placed in the
                            sepulcher. You are like mummies many
                            of you, held captive in your own wraps —
                            you fill your hearts with debris, you listen
                            to satan talk in your heads.

                                Freedom is this, freedom is found in
                            letting go, in relying on My Might, in
                            living in the Spirit, living to be more perfected,
                            in going to the pure and Immaculate Heart of your
                            Mother and allowing the Spirit to work in you.

                                You are like the blind man going into
                            a dark room, he falls over furniture and
                            comes out all bruised, time and time again.

                                The man of righteousness moves slow, he
                            feels with his hands, he spreads his
                            wings, he does not cover his eyes, he
                            looks to the sky when the lightening
                            strikes and when the Spirit counsels him, he
                            sees as you do when lightening shows the
                            tree tops and house tops — you know the
                            city even though, you no longer see it in
                            the dark night, you know it is there and
                            you are aware of your footage.

                                A blind man can walk endlessly into
                            buildings, people, furniture or he can
                            work with his imperfection to navigate
                            even though he is blind.

                                I watch your hearts, I see the cavern,
                            some hearts are black, some have debris
                            hung on their walls. Oh why do you encourage
                            the young to fill their rooms with dirt.
                            Little ones have seen evil on television and
                            they know violence.

Jesus speaks:      Let your light shine against a darkened
                            night. Let your hearts be supple.

                            Pride is a crippling force.

                            One who acts and is prideful, acts that way
                                continually.

                            One who possessively, tries to possess another for
                                their selfish gain does just that.

                            A man married and his wife was overly possessive
                                she made meals and greeting cards for the man, she
                                was attentive to him at every moment,
                                she bought cloth for his clothes and tried
                                to make them. He needed to get away —
                                she angrily tried to possess him —
                                it was not love — it was sick — he
                                soon left because he felt she "choked"
                                him.

                            Another woman did not feel she was
                                ever adequate. she was self-conscience
                                and willful. she wanted all around
                                her to make her feel better. She was
                                never satisfied. The man she married
                                soon left for she began fights constantly
                                because he was not attentive enough to her.
                                 No matter what he did, it would not have
                                made her happy — inside her own heart
                                she saw herself as inadequate and she
                                continually told herself that others did
                                not accept her. Only she could change the
                                "tapes" she played continually in her own
                                mind. She did not hear the words others
                                spoke to affirm her, she had other ideas
                                going on in her mind. Only she could
                                change what she thought, it was an
                                act of her will to continue in this
                                negative pattern of thinking and she was
                                too prideful to stop it.

                            The Ignatian/Shepherds of Christ retreat is designed
                                to help light up the darkened room
                                where many imperfections occur over
                                and over again for years and years and years.
                                 Like stumbling blocks in a dark room
                                where furniture sits in the middle of
                                the floor, in the pathway of a blind man,
                                many continually do actions over and
                                over again, year after year, like bumping
                                into old furniture for the blind man in the
                                dark room.

Messenger:              Jesus is the Teacher. There are so many people
                            today teaching untruths. Jesus is the way, the truth
                            and the life. Jesus gives us His Word — Jesus gives us
                            the commandments. So many untruths in the world —
                            the devil is leading many men to do his work.
                            the teacher, the devil, where the youth are learning so many
                            vile things through the media, the world through the
                            media, teachers in school, talk-shows, misinformed
                            people.

137. FIRST PRELUDE.   This is the history. Here it will be that Christ calls and wants all beneath His standard, and Lucifer, on the other hand, wants all under his.

It will be here to see a great plain, comprising the whole region about Jerusalem, where the sovereign Commander-in-Chief of all the good is Christ our Lord; and another plain about the region of Babylon, where the chief of the enemy is Lucifer.

139. THIRD PRELUDE.   This is to ask for what I desire. Here it will be to ask for a knowledge of the deceits of the rebel chief and help to guard myself against them; and also to ask for a knowledge of the true life exemplified in the sovereign and true Commander, and the grace to imitate Him.
   

FIRST PART

THE STANDARD OF SATAN

140. FIRST POINT.   Imagine you see the chief of all the enemy in the vast plain about Babylon, seated on a great throne of fire and smoke, his appearance inspiring horror and terror.

141. SECOND POINT.   Consider how he summons innumerable demons, and scatters them, some to one city and some to another, throughout the whole world, so that no province, no place, no state of life, no individual is overlooked.

142. THIRD POINT.   Consider the address he makes to them, how he goads them on to lay snares for men and bind them with chains. First they are to tempt them to covet riches (as Satan himself is accustomed to do in most cases) that they may the more easily attain the empty honors of this world, and then come to overweening pride.

   The first step, then, will be riches, the second honor, the third pride. From these three steps the evil one leads to all other vices.

THE STANDARD OF CHRIST

143.   In a similar way, we are to picture to ourselves the sovereign and true Commander, Christ our Lord.

144. FIRST POINT.   Consider Christ our Lord, standing in a lowly place in a great plain about the region of Jerusalem, His appearance beautiful and attractive.

Messenger:          I cannot stress the importance of the Spiritual
                                Exercises of St. Ignatius. I believe they, the
                                spiritual exercises, were given to St. Ignatius by
                                Mary, our spiritual mother. (this is what a Jesuit
                                told me) he believed.
                                The Church, the priesthood must go in this direction
                                where they employ the fundamental principles
                                of St. Ignatius to live a pure and holy life likened to Christ.

                            Oh my Divine God I rely on Your Might to help me.
                            Help me always to do Your will and not to act
                                differently because I am worried about what
                                others think of me.

                            Living our lives daily is sort of like going in
                                as a player in a baseball game.
                                He goes in — he plays with the other players —
                                He is in it for his team —
                                He interacts — He goes home.

                            Every day we go into life. We want to live in
                                the truth, we do not lie, we interact
                                we end the day and go to bed.

                            The rules that will give us the best game is
                                living by the Father's will.

                            Many times a golfer, baseball player, sports
                                person has hidden ways they play the game
                                that really "mess-up" their game.
                                They work at the art, if it is golf or baseball
                                or diving — they are open — the golfer wants
                                the lowest score, the baseball player wants
                                runs, the diver wants to go down like a
                                song, maybe take pictures, wants to enjoy the
                                whole experience, not worry if he will die,
                                or have breath the whole time.

                            There are hidden things in the golf swing a
                                person can work on for years, a person when
                                they work with a coach many times does not
                                like what they say.

                            I remember a kind of golf someone told me about
                                something like "free golf" you just do what
                                you want. They were a very good golfer so
                                they still did really well this way, but I
                                am not a golfer and if I did what I wanted
                                without instruction of some sort it would
                                be a disaster. I would miss the ball for one
                                thing, lots of times I still remember trying
                                to play when I was pregnant with my eldest
                                daughter almost 33½ years ago. I got up to 
                                the tee, a woman tee, and I swung and the 
                                ball went backward. Then I practiced at
                                the driving range and I missed the ball
                                when I swung sometimes.

                                I remember bowling, I like that, but I
                            had some rules for myself — I always aimed my
                            thumb between the head pin and the pin to the side.
                            If I went up there — took the steps, pulled back
                            and just let my arm come down any old way
                            with lots of power, not focusing on my thumb — the
                            ball would go really hard down the gutter.
                            My sister, once on the back release, let go of the
                            bowling ball and it came back to us sitting in the
                            seats. It was a real surprise and not too good because
                            it came back fast and hard.

                                The Ignatian/Shepherds of Christ retreat is to help us 
                            through God's grace see the big pieces of furniture in
                            the dark room inside of us.

                                I saw Jesus' Heart and was one very deeply
                            in the experience of December 15, 1995 and I talked about
                            it in the Mass Book on December 17, 1995 (one
                            year exactly before Mary appeared in Clearwater) then
                            I talked about it December 18, 1995 (5 years before
                            Fr. Carter died)

                                I saw the inner chamber of His Heart, it was a
                            red room, with a golden glow — there I united
                            so very deeply with our Divine God, Father, Son and
                            Holy Spirit, I knew the presence of Mary — I knew oneness —
                            I knew God.

                                The room was pure and warm, golden in glow —
                            I felt completeness in the measure He allowed me
                            to exist in Him and to this day it is a reference point
                            for me and hopefully those writings for others to know
                            a little of that glorious place that awaits those
                            who love and serve the Lord.

Messenger:            The room He took me, I said, was the inner chamber
                            of His Heart. I went to the Bahamas on that December 18 when
                            I wrote from the sun-lit sand at the ocean side.
                            I knew deeply God's gift given to me December 15, 1995
                            and I wanted to write about it. I could not explain it
                            any more clearer than these two writings —

    I long to unite in the deepest union with Him in the Eucharist. I long for the Mass. I long for Thee, oh God. My every moment, I join as I did to You December 15 under the cross, where I felt Your presence. You whisked me away, and I was totally absorbed in that moment of celestial union with You. For that time, I existed only in You, in the deepest union, and I was in this moment existing in You. The earth stopped, and I touched the heavens, all my bodily cares were existent in You. I existed in Your Divinity, my being was in You. There was no desire or wish or wanting, for in that moment, I had all I wanted in You. I was satisfied and wanted nothing but to remain in that embrace. You were the Being, and my being existed in You, but I was only as I was in You - merged in You, knowing and being in Your Divinity and being so full as to feel complete in myself.

    You are so enormous, and You surrounded me in a burning embrace, the presence of red fire. I was not little, or "nothing", but existed in this enormous power and being so complete!

    I touched eternity, and in that embrace, I knew all the waiting was worth the glory. You enveloped my being, and I was truly merged in the Divine Presence. I was merged in Your being. I existed IN You, with You, in the highest union with You, although I knew I was still distinct from You.

    I was fused and absorbed in You, feeling complete and satisfied. To describe this union is far beyond any work of my pen and paper. I pray for the reader of this page to receive the grace to share this experience with Him, I will now live for this union-to be forever merged In Him, to be One in Him, to reach higher perfection as I exist in Him, for He takes the lowly and gives to them a sharing in Himself. He merges with us and we exist in Him. The word "in" - I could write pages about. I long for the deepest union with Him, where I am swept up in the heavenly embrace of the Divine God, and I am IN Him.

    This is heaven on earth: to be merged as one with Divinity, although remaining distinct from God, to take our feeble hearts, our lowly status and to unite ourselves with the Divine, Almighty, powerful God and in this union to be meshed with Him, that His power dominates and our humanity reaches its heights of fulfillment in this union, in this oneness with Him.

    The word I have looked for is "oneness." I understand some of the meaning of the words "One in Him." Oneness is the word to describe this union of our humanity with His Divinity. The depth to which we could meditate on oneness with God is incomprehensible. In that moment, the earth stood still, and He, my Divine Lover, the Bridegroom of my soul, took me to Himself, and I knew the embrace of the Divine God.

    Nothing on the face of this earth can describe our union with Divinity. Oh, good God, that creatures are so ungrateful regarding Your divine love. I am so sorry. Let me help make reparation to Your adorable Heart. Please unite with me now that I may more deeply love Thee.

    Oh, Divine Lover of my soul, let me help make reparation to Your adorable Heart for the neglect and indifference against You.

Song from Jesus: I come to you with greatest love. I am your loving Savior. I am your God. I died for you. I come to you this day.

    He allowed me to experience such pain in my heart - wanting Him so badly, so many times-and then on Dec. 15, 1995 - He gave Himself to me in the deepest union.

    Nothing satisfies the soul but Him. He wants the nuns and priests to love Him. He chose them to spread His love.

    Souls are hungry. They will only be fed with His burning love. Priests need to talk about Jesus' love for us from the pulpit. Priests need hearts burning for love of Jesus. This will feed the hungry souls - lip service love doesn't do it.

    He is alive today. He is a Person. He wants us to love Him.

IN THE DEEPEST RECESSES OF HIS HEART

    The place Jesus took me was into the deepest recesses of His Heart. I was enveloped in His burning love. It was a red room with heat and an intense glow. I was swept away in this embrace, and I only existed in Him. The power of the Almighty God enveloped me, and I only existed in Him. There was no fear, for I was existent in this Almighty Being. My heart was wrapped in the eternal embrace of this Supreme Being. The security, the power I know was His deep presence in which I existed.

    I knew the room was red and warm. I knew His immenseness, but I felt my own completeness in Him. I did not feel little, as a speck, but elevated and empowered for I existed then in Him in a most special way.

    I was overtaken by the love of God. The fire of the Holy Spirit filled me. I was absorbed by the love of the Father, and I existed IN Him and in the deepest recesses of the Heart of Jesus. Our heaven on earth is these inner chambers of His magnificent Heart - the Heart of the Almighty God, with all the power, with omnipotence, with the fire of the love of God. He took me to the deepest chamber of this fiery Heart, and in that moment, I touched eternity, for I knew what it was to be enveloped in the deep furnace of His love. I now want to exist in this chamber of His Heart, swept away in His burning love, absorbed in my every cell with His love.

    We do not understand the fire of His love. We do not understand what it is to be absorbed by love itself. He took me to the inner, deepest chamber of His Heart, and I felt the heat and knew the presence of love itself, and there was no fear, only a feeling of completeness, omnipotence, all-embracing, penetrating love - a power indescribable in words, a saturation of my being in the presence of God, and I was as I was created to be - living in Him!

    This is how I will forever live my life, saturated with His divine life and love deep within this inner chamber of His burning Heart, living in Him as He possesses my being, and I operate with His power in me.

    Little creatures though we are, we are His, His power, His life, flowing through us. In Him, we are as the Father intended: one in Him, each one of us, dwelling in this fiery furnace of His love. With our fears quieted and our hearts empowered by His life, we live forever in Him - in the Heart of Jesus.

    Let no man separate what God has joined together. I am wed in the deepest love with my beloved Spouse, wed to the Heart of Jesus. As I am, I am one in Him. I live and I breathe in Him. He, Who is love, He Who is our all, He Who is mighty and without limits, He Who is, He Who is God and as I live, He lives in me in this world.

    I am wed to Him, and I shall not fear for He is God - one, complete, loving, God. Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in Thee. As I live, I live in Your most adorable Heart, the furnace of God's love!

Messenger:            As I gazed at the sand shore and the vastness of the
                            ocean I could see the glory of God, His Might and I
                            was in awe at His magnificence. I am but one little
                            drop on this earth and yet the Divine God knows and loves
                            me so deeply that He died and rose for me and He remains
                            with me this day and gives Himself to me in the Holy
                            Eucharist.

                                Oh the Magnificence of God, I said to a priest at
                            college last week in the very small chapel where
                            seats were right before the altar, I can't hardly sit in
                            that front row of seats for I see the host being changed
                            before my eyes by the hands of the priest and I can't hardly
                            contain the emotion within me. I can't imagine what
                            it is like for you to look down and see the host during
                            the consecration and know what is happening through
                            your hands.

                                He was a holy Jesuit priest and he said to me "that
                            is grace, you feel that way. It is a grace —
                            God gives us lots of grace especially during the retreat
                            when we pray the preparatory prayer and pray it over and over
                            again and pray for the love of God and pray in our
                            hearts for wisdom and love from the Holy Spirit.

                            This writing is about light —
                            It is about our blindness —

                            It is about seeing things in ourselves, imperfections
                                we have not been able to see because of
                                blindness and being able to move the big furniture
                                in the dark room in the center of the floor —
                                so the path is clear so the Light of Christ's
                                love can flow in us as we live as St. Paul

Galatians 2: 19-20

In fact, through the Law I am dead to the Law so that I can be alive to God. I have been crucified with Christ and yet I am alive; yet it is no longer I, but Christ living in me.

1 The Mystery of Christ and             Christian Existence

   ...In reference to Christianity, God himself is the ultimate mystery. Radically, God is completely other and transcendent, hidden from man in his inner life, unless he chooses to reveal himself. Let us briefly look at this inner life of God.

    The Father, in a perfect act of self-expression, in a perfect act of knowing, generates his son. The Son, the Word, is, then, the immanent expression of God's fullness, the reflection of the Father. Likewise, from all eternity, the Father and the Son bring forth the Holy Spirit in a perfect act of loving.

    At the destined moment in human history, God's self-expression, the Word, immersed himself into man's world. God's inner self-expression now had also become God's outer self-expression. Consequently, the mystery of God becomes the mystery of Christ. In Christ, God tells us about himself, about his inner life, about his plan of creation and redemption. He tells us how Father, Son, and Holy Spirit desire to dwell within us in the most intimate fashion, how they wish to share with us their own life through grace. All this he has accomplished and does accomplish through Christ. St. Paul tells us: "I became a minister of this Church through the commission God gave me to preach among you his word in its fullness, that mystery hidden from ages and generations past but now revealed to his holy ones. God has willed to make known to them the glory beyond price which this mystery brings to the Gentiles—the mystery of Christ in you, your hope of glory. This is the Christ we proclaim while we admonish all men and teach them in the full measure of wisdom, hoping to make every man complete in Christ" (Col 1:25-28).
