                June 6, 2016

                R. Were you ever lost? Were you ever
lost on foot and your phones did not
work and you were in a strange country
                and a strange town?

What do you do, if you are lost?
You must depend on other people you
see to help you. But what if you
find someone and they are too busy,
so they really don't want to help you
and now your cell phone is
                useless.

Think of how frustrating this would
be – to be lost as the day progresses
and soon night would come and
                darkness etc.

Can you imagine if you lost your
                memory and didn't remember things?
We could count the days our memory
was okay and thank God for those
days and then now we can't remember
little things – where we are, where
we go for things we need.

We are definitely dependent on God.
When a tragedy occurs we can see
how we must wait, on doctors,
nurses, time and we just have to
turn to God and depend on Him in
                such times.

We are on a journey here below
and we need to have our way
strongly rooted in God, for we
never know when tragedy can come into
our life and we need to be able to turn
                to God.

Mary has appeared over and over
again asking us to reach her precious
                children with this message. Many
people need to know about God and
that He loves them and He wants
                them to love Him.

We have been given a great gift
in this Movement to be told how
much God loves us and wants our
love in return. When tragedy hits
how would we be without God
                to turn to.

God has put us here and called us to
spread this message and to pray for
the priests, the Church and the world.
We are here and commissioned in baptism
                to spread the Good News.

Our lives are to be lived to love and
serve God with all our heart, all our
                soul, our whole being.

We have been given a great gift
if we have baptism and great grace
                to love Jesus.

Fr. Carter would always say to me –
Rita, you have been given great
grace to love Jesus the way you
do – you must thank Him for this.

When we go to Mass we thank God for His
gifts to us and we praise Him and petition
Him for our needs and we want to tell
God we are sorry for our sins. The
Mass is the Sacrifice of Calvary,
                sacramentally made present. We tell
God at Mass we are sorry for the sins
of the earth and we beg for grace for
                the human race.

The chief priest and victim of the
Mass is the same as the priest and
victim of the Last Supper and Calvary,
                Christ Himself. Christ makes his
interior offering of Himself in the
Mass for the same ends as were
present in His own unique sacrifice –
                adoration, thanksgiving, petition and
                satisfaction.

From Response in Christ

                        Fr. Carter says

However, Christ is not the only priest at the Mass as He was at the Last Supper and upon Calvary. All the members of the Mystical Body are priests along with Christ. To be sure, there is a difference between the hierarchical priesthood of bishops and priests and the universal priesthood of the faithful. This difference is one of essence and not merely degree. The point we wish to stress, however, is that the universal priesthood is a real participation in Christ's priesthood given through the sacraments of baptism and confirmation.

This concept of the priesthood of all the Church's members is being stressed today in a special manner.18 Jungmann, the outstanding liturgical theologian, gives us reasons why this concept of universal priesthood became relatively obscure for so many years. He states that the concept of the Mass as the Church's sacrifice faded into the background as a result of the Reformation. The Reformers maintained that there was only one sacrifice, the one which Christ offered upon Calvary. To counteract this heresy the Council of Trent and the theology consequent to it had to clarify that the Mass is a true sacrifice, but not an absolutely independent one. It is a sacrifice relative to the absolute one of Calvary and a representation of it. It was emphasized that the priest of Calvary is also the chief priest of the Mass. Because of such doctrinal controversies, the concept that Christ offers the Mass was alone considered important. The concept that the Mass is also the sacrifice of the Church practically disappeared. Finally, Jungmann notes that today we are returning to the balanced view which meaningfully recognizes that the Mass is not only the sacrifice of Christ, but also that of the Church.19 This stress on the Church's part in the Mass is logically connected with the contemporary emphasis on the priesthood of all the members of the People of God.

As Christ is not the only priest of the Mass, neither is He the only victim. Again, all the members of the Church are victims along with Christ. Various Church documents attest to this. For instance, Pope Paul VI officially calls attention to this: "It is a pleasure to add another point particularly conducive to shed light on the mystery of the Church, that it is the whole Church which, in union with Christ functioning as Priest and Victim, offers the Sacrifice of the Mass and is offered in it."20 Therefore, the members of the People of God, united as priests to Christ the high priest, offer a combined victim to the Father: Christ and themselves. Such then in all its deep meaning and beauty is the first sacrificial element of the Mass.    end of excerpt

                R. The more we spread this Good News –
the more people of the earth know
about baptism and the Mass –
the more men will unite and
be praying to make the world better –

This is Mary's message to us,
This is Jesus' message to us –

We are to love God first and do what
He wants. He has given us these prayers
to pray for the priests, the Church and
the world and to spread to the far ends
                of the earth.

We might think of how awful it would
be to be lost in real life, but how
awful is it to be lost in our
spiritual life and not find a friend
to help us – lead us to this gift of
                baptism, the Mass etc.

We need to pray the prayers Jesus
gave Fr. Carter for the priests, the Church
and the world. This is loving our
neighbor. We need to say our
Morning Offering and unite all we do
all day with the Mass and pray
for our brothers we love –

God has commissioned us in baptism
to spread the Good News –

We need to pray for our brothers –

                R. Praying these prayers is loving God –
We are giving devotion to Jesus' Sacred Heart.
And Jesus wants us to love His Mother
Mary. We love Mary, our Mother and
                honor her in these prayers.

We give devotion to the Two Hearts as
                Mary asked for at Fatima.

We are blessed to know our faith
as we do, but we need to pray for
                grace for ourselves and others.
Jesus gave Fr. Carter this message.

July 31, 1994

Words of Jesus to Members of
Shepherds of Christ Associates:

"My beloved priest-companion, I intend to use the priestly newsletter, Shepherds of Christ, and the movement, Shepherds of Christ Associates, in a powerful way for the renewal of My Church and the world.

"I will use the newsletter and the chapters of Shepherds of Christ Associates as a powerful instrument for spreading devotion to My Heart and My Mother's Heart.

"I am calling many to become members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. To all of them I will give great blessings. I will use them as instruments to help bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart. I will give great graces to the members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. I will call them to be deeply united to My Heart and to Mary's Heart as I lead them ever closer to My Father in the Holy Spirit."

- Message from Jesus to Father Edward J. Carter, S.J., Founder, as given on July 31, 1994,
feast of Saint Ignatius Loyola, Founder of the Society of Jesus (The Jesuits)

                R. This is love – loving God and giving
the Sacred Heart Devotion and caring and
loving our neighbors to pray for
the priests, the Church and the
                world and spread these prayers
to the whole earth as Jesus
told Fr. Carter 22 years ago.

Please help me do these messages
                God has given to us.
