God to serve Him on this earth

and what I get, for time on my
punch card - marked "for God",
is staggering
Night turns into morning
the sky is rolled back by the
angels like one preparing
the isle for the bride on her
wedding day
How is the day you give to God,
your maker, your lover
your friend
Is God forgotten like the groom
left at the altar by a
betraying bride
Where is your vision men?
Is it God's world
You are to live, as if you know,
you belong to Him
Like a child belonging to mom
and dad, doesn't go off and
get lost in the department
store
A mom and dad searching for the
little one running around,
ignoring their call and doing
what they want taking in
the sights
How many dresses have you bought
to look pretty?
Have you found the perfect
fit?
Like one searching for the
perfect glove to fit
their worn out hand
searching in the mud
for a treasure when
the treasure - the real
treasure is found
in the purity of one's heart
Oh little blind men running the surface
of the earth, like the toddler left
loose in the department store
And mom and dad searching for the
child
Your heavenly Father loves you,
seeks you in love, like
the Prodigal Son waiting your
return waiting for you to
come to your senses
to take off your blinding-mask
and see through the eyes of God
Oh you didn't know you were so
attached to so many worldly things and
you can choose to not want to
know, too, so you just don't
want to change
Did you see roots, stuck in dark
mud, attached to big dark
roots of a dark tree
You can hook yourself up with
the wrong source and you
grow deeper in your vices
The pure heart attaches itself to the
vine a branch full of life,
bearing fruit for My Kingdom
Oh come you who labor and toil and find
rest for your weary soul
Rest is found in God

My presence in your graced,

Romans 1: 1-7
From Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the service of the gospel that God promised long ago through his prophets in the holy scriptures.
This is the gospel concerning his Son who, in terms of human nature was born a descendant of David and who, in terms of the Spirit and of holiness, was designated Son of God in power by resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ, our Lord, through whom we have received grace and our apostolic mission of winning the obedience of faith among all the nations for the honour of his name. You are among these, and by his call you belong to Jesus Christ. To you all, God's beloved in Rome, called to be his holy people. Grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

The splendour of Jerusalem

will not be silent,
about Jerusalem I shall not rest

Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and voices could be heard shouting in heaven, calling, The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever. The twentyfour elders, enthroned in the presence of God, prostrated themselves and touched the ground with their foreheads worshipping God with these words, We give thanks to you, Almighty Lord God, He who is, He who was, for assuming your great power and beginning your reign. The nations were in uproar and now the time has come for your retribution, and for the dead to be judged, and for your servants the prophets, for the saints and for those who fear your name, small and great alike, to be rewarded. The time has come to destroy those who are destroying the earth.
Then the sanctuary of God in heaven opened, and the ark of the covenant could be seen inside it. Then came flashes of lightning, peals of thunder and an earthquake and violent hail.
Revelation Chapter 12
Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman, robed with the sun, standing on the moon, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was pregnant, and in labour, crying aloud in the pangs of childbirth. Then a second sign appeared in the sky: there was a huge red dragon with seven heads and ten horns, and each of the seven heads crowned with a coronet. Its tail swept a third of the stars from the sky and hurled them to the ground, and the dragon stopped in front of the woman as she was at the point of giving birth, so that it could eat the child as soon as it was born. The woman was delivered of a boy, the son who was to rule all the nations with an iron sceptre, and the child was taken straight up to God and to his throne, while the woman escaped into the desert, where God had prepared a place for her to be looked after for twelve hundred and sixty days.
And now war broke out in heaven, when Michael with his angels attacked the dragon. The dragon fought back with his angels, but they were defeated and driven out of heaven. The great dragon, the primeval serpent, known as the devil or Satan, who had led all the world astray, was hurled down to the earth and his angels were hurled down with him. Then I heard a voice shout from heaven, Salvation and power and empire for ever have been won by our God, and all authority for his Christ, now that the accuser, who accused our brothers day and night before our God, has been brought down. They have triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word to which they bore witness, because even in the face of death they did not cling to life. So let the heavens rejoice and all who live there; but for you, earth and sea, disaster is comingbecause the devil has gone down to you in a rage, knowing that he has little time left.
As soon as the dragon found himself hurled down to the earth, he sprang in pursuit of the woman, the mother of the male child, but she was given a pair of the great eagles wings to fly away from the serpent into the desert, to the place where she was to be looked after for a time, two times and half a time. So the serpent vomited water from his mouth, like a river, after the woman, to sweep her away in the current, but the earth came to her rescue; it opened its mouth and swallowed the river spewed from the dragons mouth. Then the dragon was enraged with the woman and went away to make war on the rest of her children, who obey Gods commandments and have in themselves the witness of Jesus.

That is why they are standing in front of Gods throne and serving him day and night in his sanctuary; and the One who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them. They will never hunger or thirst again; sun and scorching wind will never plague them, because the Lamb who is at the heart of the throne will be their shepherd and will guide them to springs of living water; and God will wipe away all tears from their eyes.

Jesus: "My beloved friend, tell My people to pray daily to the Holy Spirit. They are to pray for an increase in His gifts. My people must realize that the Holy Spirit comes to transform them. The Spirit desires to transform you more and more according to My image. Those who are docile to His touch become increasingly shaped in My likeness. He performs this marvel within Mary's Immaculate Heart. The more one dwells in My Mother's Heart, the more active are the workings of the Spirit. The Spirit leads Mary to place you within My own Heart. In both Our Hearts, then, your transformation continues. The more you are formed after My own Heart, the more I lead you to the bosom of My Father. Tell My people all this. Tell them to pray daily for a greater appreciation of these wondrous gifts. I am Lord and Master. All who come to My Heart will be on fire to receive the gifts of the Spirit in ever greater measure! I love and bless My people!"
Reflection: The Holy Spirit is given to us to fashion us ever more according to the likeness of Jesus. And the more we are like Jesus, the more Jesus leads us to the Father. Do we, each day, pray to the Holy Spirit to be more open to His transforming influence? Do we strive each day to grow in union with Mary? The greater our union with our Mother, the spouse of the Holy Spirit, the greater is the transforming action of the Holy Spirit within us.

if you obey the voice of Yahweh your God, by keeping his commandments and decrees written in the book of this Law, and if you return to Yahweh your God with all your heart and soul. Glory is our destiny
In my estimation, all that we suffer in the present time is nothing in comparison with the glory which is destined to be disclosed for us, for the whole creation is waiting with eagerness for the children of God to be revealed. It was not for its own purposes that creation had frustration imposed on it, but for the purposes of him who imposed itwith the intention that the whole creation itself might be freed from its slavery to corruption and brought into the same glorious freedom as the children of God. We are well aware that the whole creation, until this time, has been groaning in labour pains. And not only that: we too, who have the first-fruits of the Spirit, even we are groaning inside ourselves, waiting with eagerness for our bodies to be set free.
Matthew 13: 1-23
Introduction
That same day, Jesus left the house and sat by the lakeside, but such large crowds gathered round him that he got into a boat and sat there. The people all stood on the shore, and he told them many things in parables.
Parable of the sower
He said, Listen, a sower went out to sow. As he sowed, some seeds fell on the edge of the path, and the birds came and ate them up. Others fell on patches of rock where they found little soil and sprang up at once, because there was no depth of earth; but as soon as the sun came up they were scorched and, not having any roots, they withered away. Others fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them. Others fell on rich soil and produced their crop, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. Anyone who has ears should listen!
Why Jesus speaks in parables
Then, the disciples went up to him and asked, Why do you talk to them in parables? In answer, he said, Because to you is granted to understand the mysteries of the kingdom of Heaven, but to them it is not granted. Anyone who has will be given more and will have more than enough; but anyone who has not will be deprived even of what he has. The reason I talk to them in parables is that they look without seeing and listen without hearing or understanding. So in their case what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah is being fulfilled:
Listen and listen, but never understand!
Look, and look, but never perceive!
This peoples heart has grown coarse,
their ears dulled,
they have shut their eyes tight
to avoid using their eyes to see,
their ears to hear,
their heart to understand,
changing their ways
and being healed by me.But blessed are your eyes because they see, your ears because they hear! In truth I tell you, many prophets and upright people longed to see what you see, and never saw it; to hear what you hear, and never heard it.
The parable of the sower explained
So pay attention to the parable of the sower. When anyone hears the word of the kingdom without understanding, the Evil One comes and carries off what was sown in his heart: this is the seed sown on the edge of the path. The seed sown on patches of rock is someone who hears the word and welcomes it at once with joy. But such a person has no root deep down and does not last; should some trial come, or some persecution on account of the word, at once he falls away. The seed sown in thorns is some one who hears the word, but the worry of the world and the lure of riches choke the word and so it produces nothing. And the seed sown in rich soil is someone who hears the word and understands it; this is the one who yields a harvest and produces now a hundredfold, now sixty, now thirty.
R. The Sorrowful Mysteries I received before Mass, the Glorious Mysteries after Mass. I saw in Mass that He was strengthening my roots so that I existed firmly rooted in Him.
15th Sunday in Ordinary Time
July 13, 2008
(Isaiah 55: 10-11, Romans 8: 18-23, Matthew 13: 1-23) The prophet, whom we hearin todays first reading, was speaking to Gods captive people in Babylon. Through the prophet, God is telling them they would soon be able to return home. Their exile, which lasted 50 years, was suddenly at an end. No doubt this seemed like an impossibility. God assures them his promise will be fulfilled. God said his word is like the rain. When God sends the rain it does the work of keeping the world green and alive. When God sends out his word, it is not full of empty promises, but it has the power to be effective.INTRODUCTION
HOMILY
Today we have a choice as to whether to do the long form or short form of the gospel. I chose theshort form, because I believe most of us already know that Jesus was the one who scattered the seed by speaking Gods word to all who would listen. Not everyone responded in the same way. Some ignored him, some received his message with enthusiasm but quickly forgot or was easily distracted. Some took Gods word to heart and grew in Gods grace and love. Gods word was generously offered to all people, but not everyone benefited from it. Another purpose Jesus may have had in telling this parable was to help his apostles understand why everyone did not follow Jesus with as much excitement as they did.It is a parable so rich in meaning that it has other interpretations as well. I came across a delightful story by Megan McKenna in her book:
Parables: the Arrows of God which might give us another way of looking at todays parable.There was a woman who was depressed over the state of the world. She longed for love among her family and friends, peace among all people, compassion for the poor and vulnerable. There were problems everywhere as she saw so much selfishness, greed, hatred, lack of moral values.
One day she came upon a little shop. She walked in and was surprised to see someone behind the counter who reminded her of Jesus. She couldnt believe it really was Jesus, but the similarity was so striking that she justhad to go to him and ask: Excuse me, are you Jesus? I am. Do you work here? No, I am the owner. What do you sell here? Well, I really dont sell anything. Its all free. I have here just about anything you might want. Youre welcome to walk around the aisles and see what you might be interested in. Make a list of all the things you want and bring it back to me. Ill see what I can do for you. She was amazed at what she saw on the shelves: peace on earth, food to feed the hungry, clean air and water, warm clothing for the poor, forgiveness. Thewoman compiled a long list and brought it back to Jesus. When Jesus looked at all the items she had written down he smiled and said no problem. He bent down behind the counter and ran his fingers through several boxes. He then stood up and laid out a series of small envelopes for the woman. What are these? she asked. Seed packets, Jesus replied. This is a catalogue store. You mean I dont get the finished product? she asked. No, Jesus said. Just take these seeds home, plant them andnurture them and help them grow and you will be quite pleased with the results. She said Oh! and left the store without taking anything with her. Most of us want God to solve problems for us overnight, and when he does thats great, but mostly he gives us the means and the help we need and calls us to have faith and patience. Live by Gods word, it will not disappoint us. As God promised in todays first reading: my word will not return to me void, but shall do my will, achieving the end for which I sent it.

And as well as this, the Spirit too comes to help us in our weakness, for, when we do not know how to pray properly, then the Spirit personally makes our petitions for us in groans that cannot be put into words; and he who can see into all hearts knows what the Spirit means because the prayers that the Spirit makes for Gods holy people are always in accordance with the mind of God.

He put another parable before them, The kingdom of Heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field. While everybody was asleep his enemy came, sowed darnel all among the wheat, and made off. When the new wheat sprouted and ripened, then the darnel appeared as well. The owners labourers went to him and said, "Sir, was it not good seed that you sowed in your field? If so, where does the darnel come from?" He said to them, "Some enemy has done this." And the labourers said, "Do you want us to go and weed it out?" But he said, "No, because when you weed out the darnel you might pull up the wheat with it. Let them both grow till the harvest; and at harvest time I shall say to the reapers: First collect the darnel and tie it in bundles to be burnt, then gather the wheat into my barn."
He put another parable before them, The kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed which a man took and sowed in his field. It is the smallest of all the seeds, but when it has grown it is the biggest of shrubs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air can come and shelter in its branches.
He told them another parable, The kingdom of Heaven is like the yeast a woman took and mixed in with three measures of flour till it was leavened all through.
In all this Jesus spoke to the crowds in parables; indeed, he would never speak to them except in parables. This was to fulfil what was spoken by the prophet:
I will speak to you in parables,
unfold what has been hidden
since the foundation of the world.Then, leaving the crowds, he went to the house; and his disciples came to him and said, 'Explain to us the parable about the darnel in the field.' He said in reply, ' The sower of the good seed is the Son of man. My dear fellow Associate Members,
Jesus is calling special apostles to join a new division of the Shepherds of Christ Movement. Here is a message from Jesus given to Father Carter:
My beloved priest-companion, I am requesting that a new prayer movement be started under the direction of Shepherds of Christ Ministries. I am asking for volunteers who are willing to pray before the Blessed Sacrament for one hour, twice-weekly. Members of the Shepherds of Christ prayer chapters, as well as others, are to be invited to join this movement.
These apostles are to pray for the intentions I am giving you. For part of the hour they are to use the prayers of the Shepherds of Christ Associates Handbook. They may spend the rest of the hour as they so choose.
I will use this new prayer movement within My Shepherds of Christ Ministries in a powerful way to help in the renewal of My Church and the world. I will give great graces to those who join this movement. The name, Apostles of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, is to be given to this movement.
I am inviting My beloved Rita Ring to be coordinator for this activity.
I pour out the great love of My Sacred Heart to all. I am Jesus, Chief Shepherd of the flock.
This is indeed a special calling for us to unite in one heart with His Eucharistic Heart and pray for the following intentions:

Words of Jesus. Read before the Tabernacle.
Jesus: How, child, do I, Jesus, tell you I love you? You hold on to silly things when God is in your midst and is ardently loving you. I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I am writing to each precious child this day. I am on fire for love of you. I remain in the Eucharist to be with you with My ardent love. I did not want to leave My beloved ones at the Last Supper. I love you so, My dear and ardently loved children. I remain with you this day in the Blessed Sacrament, the same Jesus Who died a brutal death on the Cross.
Do you know I am truly present there? Do you know that God waits every day for you in the tabernacle? Do you comprehend even a minute amount of My love? You will never know of how I love you on earth.
I, Jesus, truly the Son of God, came to earth a man and suffered a brutal death for love of you. I love you so much! I remain with you this day. I long for your love. I want you to come and be with Me in front of the tabernacle. I wait, I yearn for you to come and whisper your love to Me. I am a person and I love you this day, with such an ardent on-fire love! No human could ever compare a speck to My love for you.
I wait, little ones, in the tabernacle. I wait for you to come and receive Me in Communion. I want you to want Me so much you cannot wait to come and receive Me. I want to be the love, the center of your life!
I am Jesus. I am the Son of God. I am writing to you this day. I want to possess your very soul and live in you. I have all you need, sweet ones. Oh, you are so blind! I long for your union with Me. I wrote the book of love. I instituted it, yet you go to the world for your love and do not even come to Me! Oh, I love you, little ones. Little ones, beloved of the Father, loved by the Holy Spirit, mothered by My very own mother! What more can I say? The rest is up to you!
I give you your will with such love and I want your love freely given. I am God. What do you think you could ever need that I do not give you? I am the Savior of this world. I am Jesus, the Son of God. I am waiting for you. I am longing for you. I am yearning for you. I am God. I have all you ever will need!
Surrender this life to Me. Pray My Prayer for Union with Me. I want to possess your soul and operate from your very being. I am Jesus. I am the Son of God. I am the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I am Who am. I died and rose on the third day.
