Prayer for Grace for our Country
Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our president and leaders. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.

Mary Mother of God
January 1, 2006
HOMILY - (Numbers 6: 22-27; Galatians 4: 4-7; Luke 2: 16-21) In an article written by Billy Graham he reflected on the year 1809. In that year all of Europe was preoccupied with the Napoleonic Wars. No one was thinking about babies. The world was not thinking of Alfred Lord Tennyson, Oliver Wendell Holmes, Felix Mendelssohn or Abraham Lincoln who were born that same year. In 1809 in the ashes of war and destruction, seeds of hope and new life were already starting to grow. The story is told that the day Abraham Lincoln was born in Kentucky, one of the villagers was asked what was happening in the village. The reply was, “Nothing at all, nothing at all – except a new baby born at Tom Lincoln’s house. Nothing ever happens out here.”
Today we are preoccupied with the war with Iraq, threats of terrorism, threats of nuclear proliferation, worries about the economy, abortions, poverty and family problems, you name it. But somewhere seeds of hope and new life are starting to sprout. The shepherds in Bethlehem 2000 years ago saw a baby boy in a manger and recognized in him new hope. We are in the midst of celebrating the greatest hope we have, the mystery of God taking on our human flesh. The mystery of Christmas is too much for any of us to absorb in one day or even in one century. And so we celebrate it again today with the feast of Mary, the Mother of God. This, the first and oldest feast of Mary in the Church, honors Mary and it reminds us again of the mystery of the Incarnation, that God took on our human flesh, without ceasing to be God. Although there are two natures in Jesus Christ, human and divine, there is only one person, the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity, and Mary is his mother. Thus she is rightly called: “Mother of God.” Perhaps when all nations finally comprehend the depth of this mystery, then we will know true peace.
We must deal with current problems, but we cannot give up hope. The birth of Jesus assures us that God did not give up on us but rather came down to us to enable us to someday live with him. And he offers us the help we need each day. Christ told us “I came that they might have life and might have it to the full.” The fullness of life is something that is still ahead, a life we hope to share with the Lord for all eternity. If we didn’t have that to look forward to we could easily be overwhelmed by the problems of life. Jesus ended his Sermon on the Mount with that image: “Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise person who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. But it did not collapse; it had been set solidly on rock. And everyone who listens to these words of mine but does not act on them will be like a fool who built his house on sand. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. And it collapsed and was completely ruined.”
I cannot end my homily today without some reference to time. It does not stop. I’m sure most of us have expressed the sentiment in the past few weeks: “I can’t believe it’s December already,” or “I can’t believe we’re already celebrating Christmas.” Time keeps moving. “Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow creeps in this petty pace from day to day…” as Macbeth says, and it keeps on creeping. And none of us knows when time will run out for us. Many people make resolutions today because they recognize there are some things they would like to do differently (like spend less money, stop smoking, lose weight, exercise more, etc) and they know they don’t have forever to get around to doing it. If you’re making any resolutions, why not think about praying a little more. Whenever I pray, I am tempted to think I’m giving some of my precious time to God. Then God reminds me every moment I am alive, he is giving to me. When I pray, I am only giving back to God what is already his. Prayer helps keep me sane and helps me keep things in perspective. Wouldn’t 15 minutes of prayer each day be more benefit to us than 15 minutes of TV? We have the example of Mary in today’s gospel. “Mary kept all these things and reflected on them in her heart.” She who was already so close to God needed time to reflect on the presence of God in her life……. Is this need any less for any of us?
Feast of the Epiphany

INTRODUCTION
– (Isaiah 60,1-6; Mt. 2,1-12) God’s people were conquered and enslaved by the Babylonians in 587 BC. Fifty years later the Persians conquered the Babylonians and they allowed the Jews to return home. As our first reading begins, we hear the prophet enthusiastically proclaim this return: “Rise up in splendor, Jerusalem! Your light has come…” The prophet, however, sees in this event something much grander than the Jews’ return from captivity. He sees Jerusalem becoming the center of spirituality and light for all the world. This passage begins to see its fulfillment in Jesus’ death and resurrection in Jerusalem. From there his light spreads out to all the world. Unfortunately, not all people choose to follow this light, but at the end of time, those who have followed Christ’s light will enter into the new and eternal Jerusalem so beautifully described in the book of Revelation.HOMILY
– I have a postcard from one of my vacations in Florida. It is a picture of the ocean with sand dunes, sea gulls, waves breaking on the beach, sea oats, etc. I pull it out and look at it when I’m feeling especially stressed. The picture reminds me of peaceful times I’ve had and restful vacations I can still look forward to. As you think of that image, keep in mind that it is a picture of one tiny portion of an immense body of water.Now I want to use this as an example of an experience of God. I’m sure we’ve all had many of them. Perhaps in prayer, perhaps at Mass or in reading the Scriptures, perhaps in nature, perhaps in childbirth, perhaps in a loving and kind person, perhaps even in suffering. These experiences are moments to treasure. They could be called “epiphanies” for us for the word “epiphany” means God manifesting himself to us. Like the ocean God is vast, eternal, all powerful, all wise, all loving, greater than the universe. Those little epiphanies any of us may have had are just one very tiny experience of the infinite God.
Today we hear about the epiphany of three magi. This word magi comes from the original Greek text which calls them “magoi.” Most likely they were from Persia or Babylon, and were priests of the Zoroastrian religion, known for their wisdom and their ability to interpret dreams and astrological phenomena. The gospels do not tell us how many there were. The idea of their being three of them comes from the three gifts they offered. The idea that they were kings did not originate until the third century, primarily inspired by Psalm 72 in which we prayed: “the kings of Tarshish and the Isles shall offer gifts, the kings of Arabia and Seba shall bring tribute. All kings shall pay him homage…” King Herod obviously was not one of those kings who would pay Jesus homage.
Nature and Scripture led them to the infant Jesus. But in finding him they evidently knew they had found omething far greater than just another child. The magi disappear from the Scriptures and from history, but the revelation of God’s Son to us, in other words, Epiphany, is not finished with their disappearance. There was his baptism in the Jordan and Jesus’ first miracle at the wedding feast of Cana, for example, which were at one time celebrated as part of this feast. All of Jesus’ miracles were manifestations of his divine power, including and especially the resurrection.
Epiphanies are all around us if we are alert to them. When we have experiences of God’s love and presence, personal epiphanies, they convince us there is a God. But too many people do not move any further in their knowledge and experience of God. They are content with their own personal epiphany and they miss the spiritual growth that comes from diligently searching further for him. There is no spiritual growth for them. Let us return to the analogy of sitting on the beach in Florida. It’s enjoyable to sit there and watch the waves, but takes no effort on our part. To really appreciate the ocean we have to know what many other people have learned in their own travels. The ocean is as much off the coast of Maine as off the coast of South Africa. If we want to know God, we need more than just a couple of experiences of God’s love and presence. This is why we need religion and we need the Church. People say they don’t need organized religion. They don’t realize how practical and helpful it truly is. By limiting our knowledge of the ocean to one tiny location we’ll never get anywhere else or be very safe if we try. If we are to grow and mature in our relationship with God, we need information, especially maps, from others if we want to go somewhere further. We need the experience and guidance of other spiritual persons who can teach us what we do not yet know.
Epiphanies are wonderful. We should take and treasure all those that come our way. But they are meant to be helps along the journey we are all called to make to come to know and to possess the greatest treasure life can offer us in this world or the next, Jesus Christ, whom we can never get enough of. Amen.
R. Please keep
praying for Fr. Joe Robinson, my brother.
Thanks.

Consecrate Your Churches, Home, and Workplace to Our Hearts
Jesus: I want you to consecrate the human race to Sacred Heart of Jesus. I want to be enthroned in all homes, churches, and businesses.
June is the month of the Sacred Heart. I want to be king and center of all hearts. I will keep My promises given to St. Margaret Mary of Alacoque. I promise all this from My most Sacred Heart. Consecrate your chapter to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Consecrate the church or room in which you hold your meeting.
Today is First Friday. I want you to circulate the message I gave to you on consecrating your homes to My Sacred Heart. Make booklets available for people to be able to consecrate their homes and businesses easily. Use the message I gave to you when you consecrated your home.
The Sacred Heart of Jesus will reign and the Immaculate Heart of Mary will triumph. Consecrate all homes and businesses to Our Two Hearts. Tell all to have displayed and honored, pictures of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. May and June are the months of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Tell all to consecrate their homes to Our Two Hearts. I am the Sacred Heart of Jesus. On this day, the 5th of May, 1995, First Friday, I request that you spend the next two months encouraging all to do this consecration.
Gather your friends and say the prayers I have instructed you to say. Sing "To Jesus Heart All Burning" and "Immaculate Mary." May these Two Hearts of love give all members of the human race peace, joy and love in their hearts.
R. Jesus said He desires to be honored by men in the Blessed Sacrament.
Jesus: Circulate the Blue Book messages. They promote this devotion. How My Heart is filled with happiness by the souls who come to the tabernacle and sit with Me. I am Jesus Christ, I wait and long and thirst for My precious souls to come. The souls of men have turned cold. I want souls to come to daily communion and be with Me in front of the tabernacle.
Men's hearts have turned cold. They do not know what love really means. I want hearts that are filled with fire for love of God. Men's hearts have turned to stone.
You are to promote devotion to My most Sacred Heart. I want hearts that burn with love for My Heart. It is through Me that you will know the Father's love. I am the Way, I am the Truth, I am the Life.
Offer a holy hour for the indifference, ingratitude, and sacrileges committed against Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, the Sacrament of His greatest love.
R. He promises great graces to those who give reparation to His Sacred Heart and who tell others about offering reparation to Him. end of May 5, 1995

From the Lectionary
Pentecost Sequence
Come, Holy Spirit, come!
And from your celestial home
Shed a ray of light divine!Come, Father of the poor!
Come, source of all our store!
Come, within our bosoms shine!You, of comforters the best;
You, the soul's most welcome guest;
Sweet refreshment here below;In our Labor, rest most sweet;
Grateful coolness in the heat;
Solace in the midst of woe.O most blessed Light divine,
Shine within these hearts of yours,
And our inmost being fill!Where you are not, man has naught,
Nothing good in deed or thought,
Nothing free from taint of ill!Heal our wounds, our strength renew;
On our dryness pour your dew;
Wash the stains of guilt away;Bend the stubborn heart and will;
Melt the frozen, warm the chill;
Guide the steps that go astray.On the faithful, who adore
And confess you, evermore
In your sev'nfold gift descend;Give them virtue's sure reward;
Give them your salvation, Lord;
Give them joys that never end. Amen.
Alleluia.

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $15 |
Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $15 |
Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $15 |
Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $15 |
Guiding Light — The Word Alive in Our Hearts. — Cycle A (partial) Homilies by the Reverend Joe Robinson given at St. Boniface Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is a tremendous honor Fr. Joe has allowed us to share these great gifts with you – for greater holiness and knowing more and more about God. $10 |

Priestly Newsletter — 2000 #1 — CD. — Christ is Our Strength — Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. It is so beautiful. "This brief passage contains one of the greatest lessons of the spiritual life. As we progress along our spiritual journey, we become increasingly aware of how weak we are in our—selves, but how strong we are in Christ. To experience our weakness involves suffering. The degree and kind of suffering can vary. The suffering can include the experience of the classical dark night of the spirit as described by St. John of the Cross. One of the main purposes of the dark night is to make a person keenly aware of his or her helplessness without God." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10 |
