A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb
the Bridegroom of the soul
Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.

Messenger: I opened the Blue Book after communion.
Jesus told me to open it.
November 16, 1993 - 4:15a.m.
Messenger: . . .Dear Jesus, I am finding out how I did my will and told myself, "If it was a good thing, it was Your will." I need to care to my needs so I am not tired or hungry, but properly fed. This is Your will that I sleep. My children come after You and I have the job to feed them spiritually as well as physically. It takes just as much time to feed them each day spiritually as physically and it is more important to feed them their spiritual food.
Jesus speaks: Children must be taught to obey. You know what is best. I am guiding you. When you bend the rules with them, it is Satan starting his attack. Get rid of him and demand obedience. You are teaching them about obeying the Will of God when they learn to obey you.
It is so simple. They need to eat right, sleep right, be fed spiritually and be loved. Do all things as you know what is right. You give in because you think you don't know. You do know what to do with them. Demand obedience.
Messenger: I love You! I love You, Jesus!

Messenger: The message was ten years ago November 16, 1993.
The days pass, the flowers of spring that were
once so beautiful soon wither and fade.
When I see myself as Christ's little flower, with
each passing day, the more I stay rooted
in Him, the more beautiful I become.
Flowers may wither and fade, but even
if my body grows older and older,
I become more and more beautiful.
I am the beautiful flower of the Sacred Heart
of Jesus.
I am the daughter of my precious Mother
Mary.
I know what it is to lose my real mother.
The cancer ate her body while I was just a
little child and then one day she was
gone and Jesus taught me about heaven
at an early age.
I knew my mom lived, I couldn't talk to
her or hold her hand or touch her, but
I knew a treasure greater than many five
year old children. I knew my mother
lived and they told me she was in heaven
with God.
I smelled the roses in the funeral home. We
all thought my mom was a saint, she was
mild and gentle, she smiled and loved
me, she was with me whenever she
could be. The smell of roses I would
have later after my spiritual mother
began to give me favors and apparitions.
I don't want to be tied to the things here that
only I see. God opened the door to the
life beyond for me at this early age
and most of the real favors came for
me when I was close to 48, the age
my mom was when she died.
(this was about when Fr. Carter was helping me)
What happened in that interval from 5 - 48.
I grew, I suffered the sufferings, I relished
in the joys and before that time of the
beginning of the ecstasies and visions of
the Blessed Mother, I was prepared for
this in His way.
Here is the "To the Reader" in Blue Book I.
Jesus wants to share His love with you. He comes in these letters to tell you how you can be in intimate union with Him.
All of us possess everything we need to have an intimate union with Him. He has written to me since October of 1991. For at least a year I sat in front of the tabernacle and begged him to talk to me. I wanted words. I prayed to the Holy Spirit and begged and begged Him to baptize me. After a long and seemingly endless search, trying to hear God, He told me to "feed the hungry." For six weeks this was all I heard. I thought maybe I wasn't feeding my children well or eating well enough myself. What a long wait for three words! At long last one day, as I was writing to Jesus, I received a letter back. He told me, "I am Jesus, Son of the Living God." I did not want to write this but it kept coming-and so many other messages. I knew nothing of anyone getting messages. I wrote them, reluctantly, and hid my notebooks. The letters kept coming-a lot in the night-and I would be awakened by long letters which I felt compelled to get up and write down. I read these letters privately and my life began to change. I felt a new life within me.
He taught me of His fervent love and how truly present He was. He taught me how precious I was to Him. Over and over again He would call me His precious child and tell me how He loved me, how He clothed me with dignity and honor. He told me over and over how He was right by my side always. He is teaching me to give up all fear and to trust in Him. He is teaching me to let go of myself and let Him run my life. I am trying every day to do His will.
He is also telling you in your heart all you need to know. He has all the answers for you there in your heart. You must be silent and go to Him so you can hear His words for you.
Sit in front of the tabernacle and be with Him. Sit and be open and just be with Him. Read these letters there. These are Jesus' love letters to you. Sit in front of the tabernacle and let Him talk to you. Sit silent awhile. Read these letters part of the time. Open any page and He will talk to you. Do not read this like a book, cover to cover. Just open to a page and read that page. That is the way He speaks to you.

That is what they lived for, that some day they would be with Me in heaven.

Messenger: For me it has been a journey, much like when my
mama had died years ago. I knew it, the deep
love I had for this holy priest, this very deep
dependence on him, every day being with
him, attending Mass, going to confession, getting
his blessing, telling Him about my best friend
God and my experiences and my relationship
with God, talking about the Movement, the
plans of Jesus for his Movement and then the
cancer ate his body or whatever cancer does and
robs the body of the life it once had.
I knew the empty bed where my mom died,
I knew she threw-up, green, because I still
saw it in the cracks of the toilet seat that could
not be washed clean, the miraculous candle
that had a wreath engraved on it when she
died and all the candles went out —

Here is the story I wrote, much like the candles
all over the house going out when my mom
died, the clock stopped when Fr. Carter died.
Excerpt from December 18, 2000
We loved to see his room and were heart broken we missed our
beloved priest who passed away at 7:10 p.m.Emily called, and John and I and Emily, on the phone, prayed the
Chaplet of Mercy. John and I were at his bed, John knelt by
the bed and I sat on the bed and we prayed. I felt his very strong
presence with us. It was sometime shortly after 9:00 p.m. when we
finished.John looked at the clock in Father's room and it said 7:09, one
minute before he died.At one point when I was in the room when we first
got there, I heard all this noise in the clock
and I said to myself "What is wrong with that clock?"
I did not look at it. Then we prayed the Divine Mercy
a second time which ended shortly after nine. The second time
we prayed, Emily prayed with us on the
phone. That is when John looked at the clock and it
said 7:09. But actually it was a little after 9 p.m.
The clock continued to operate normally with the earlier time.

Messenger: So why do I tell you this — to me it is like a
matched bookend. I know I am the rose of Christ
and yet that rose has its thorns. The rose is
the deep realization I have of life after death,
the death of my mom prepared me for the ecstasies,
for a deeper fullness of understanding the place
beyond — called heaven — and knowing relationship
with those in heaven and knowing relationship
with souls in purgatory.
The thorns were the sufferings, but my beloved
God sent me a holy step-mom to care for my needs,
but the sorrow to know your real mom was never
there at your first communion and your wedding.
How many people suffer every day and yet
aren't the sufferings like the beautiful white
rose. A thorn of suffering He gives me and a
realization of relationship of those who have
passed on.
I love deeper, I love more purely and the tears
fall at the mention of their name for deep in my
heart, I miss their physical presence, but I know
something more precious, I know that place
beyond.
I really do love the saints so much
they are so real to me. I have deep union
in my soul. At some point in my life
God seemed He acted in my soul to be
so deeply connected to St. Ignatius and
St. Xavier and St. Claude. I always went
into ecstasies at the Masses on the
Feast of St. Ignatius and St. Xavier, it seemed
I suffered immensely on the feast of St.
Margaret Mary.
Fr. Carter would address me as Margaret
Mary — he wrote that in the first books he
gave me —

The thorn, the rose —
The rose was white,
the thorn pointy and
when it pricked my skin
I felt the pain deep within.
But oh the rose of knowing
knowing more about the Resurrection —
He broke forth from the tomb —
the stone was rolled back —
He came bursting forth in
white and in glory and
Mary Magdalene wanted to
know where they had laid Him —
And He said Mary, . . .
He said to me Rita . . .
He called you, did you hear
the voice, did you feel the
thorns prick your sides and
your fingers or your toes and at
the site of blood run away —
where are you running? —
All the flowers fade and are
thrown on heaps, but
the flower He forms in
us — blossoms and keeps blossoming —
but if we run when we see the blood —
or run from the suffering
of the thorn, where will we
run to —
is there a road here below
that we can take and escape
the death of our body —
Like green leaves full of vibrancy —
the golden blanket of fall washes
over the tree and soon many
shine as burnt beautiful
leaves in the autumn glow
only to be trod by the little
feet of the children —
Do you hear their voices —
the giggles at play —
Or do you see the wrestling
wind carry the stiff burned
leaves away —
no noise, just a little
wrestling close to the sidewalk —
A tomb and Christ comes forth —
He was buried with the wounds
on that fine day when
Christ the Son of God died
for us and shed His Blood.

Excerpt from The Pain and the Joy
by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J.2
The Pain and the Joy
Certain people look upon religion as a type of enslavement. Religion, claim these people, puts shackles on one's desires for full living, pleasure, and happiness. Religion, they continue, makes you fearful, forces you into a rigid pattern of dos and don’ts which restricts and even suffocates your thrust toward full personality development. Whatever the causes may be for one's arriving at this view, such an attitude grossly misrepresents the nature of true religion.
Jesus has come to make us happy, not to make us participate in a religion which destroys the joy-dimension of human life. Jesus has come to increase our capacity for true self-fulfillment, not to restrict us with a religion which (while encouraging morbid self-enclosement), destroys possibilities for healthy self-expansion. Jesus has come to show us the way to true pleasure, not to present us with a religion which looks askance at such. Furthermore, this happiness and fulfillment which Jesus has come to give us is meant for this life as well as for eternal life. Christianity is a religion which gives a here-and-now happiness that develops into a future and eternal happiness. It satisfies our deepest desires to be fully alive. Furthermore, Christianity is a religion which unites pain and joy.
Christ's followers have looked upon His sufferings—which culminated in the agony of Calvary—and have been moved to a most unique kind of compassion; for the sufferings of Jesus are those of the completely innocent one, sufferings of an extremely kind, sensitive, and loving man. Here was a man who had done nothing but good, and yet, in the end He suffered rejection, betrayal, and denial.
Nevertheless, this classical figure of suffering and pathos who is Jesus is also the classical figure of hope. The crucified Jesus is the great symbol of hope because His suffering and death point beyond Calvary to His Resurrection. The suffering and pathos of Jesus opens up into hope-causing and joy-causing resurrection. The Jesus who exacts compassion from His followers is the same Jesus who fills them with resurrection joy, peace, and happiness. Jesus allows the Christian to see that suffering is not meant to be self-enclosed, but rather open-ended. Suffering is meant, when properly assimilated, to lead to greater life, to greater love, joy, and happiness.
The pain and the joy of life are inevitably linked together. Let us not try to separate them. On the one hand, let us not narrowly view life's suffering so that we fail to see it as a means, if properly encountered, to a fuller life. On the other hand, let us not so exclusively focus on the aspect of joy that we fail to remember that its presence in our life cannot be maintained and deepened unless we are willing to suffer with Jesus. Pain and joy—what God has joined together, let us not strive to separate.
Dying and rising were inseparable in Jesus' existence. Since we have been baptized into Christ's death-resurrection, as St. Paul tells us (Rom. 6:1-11), dying and rising are also inseparable in our own existence. The pain and the joy. In experiencing humanity, the Christian must assimilate both according to God's designs.
End of excerpt from The Pain and the Joy
Mark 15: 22-47
They brought Jesus to the place called Golgotha, which means the place of the skull.
The crucifixion
They offered him wine mixed with myrrh, but he refused it. Then they crucified him, and shared out his clothing, casting lots to decide what each should get. It was the third hour when they crucified him. The inscription giving the charge against him read, ‘The King of the Jews’. And they crucified two bandits with him, one on his right and one on his left.
The crucified Jesus is mocked
The passers–by jeered at him; they shook their heads and said, ‘Aha! So you would destroy the Temple and rebuild it in three days! Then save yourself; come down from the cross!’ The chief priests and the scribes mocked him among themselves in the same way with the words, ‘He saved others, he cannot save himself. Let the Christ, the king of Israel, come down from the cross now, for us to see it and believe.’ Even those who were crucified with him taunted him.
The death of Jesus
When the sixth hour came there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, ‘Eloi, eloi, lama sabachthani?’ which means, ‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?’ When some of those who stood by heard this, they said, ‘Listen, he is calling on Elijah.’ Someone ran and soaked a sponge in vinegar and, putting it on a reed, gave it to him to drink saying, ‘Wait! And see if Elijah will come to take him down.’ But Jesus gave a loud cry and breathed his last. And the veil of the Sanctuary was torn in two from top to bottom. The centurion, who was standing in front of him, had seen how he had died, and he said, ‘In truth this man was Son of God.’
The women on Calvary
There were some women watching from a distance. Among them were Mary of Magdala, Mary who was the mother of James the younger and Joset, and Salome. These used to follow him and look after him when he was in Galilee. And many other women were there who had come up to Jerusalem with him.
The burial
It was now evening, and since it was Preparation Day—that is, the day before the Sabbath—there came Joseph of Arimathaea, a prominent member of the Council, who himself lived in the hope of seeing the kingdom of God, and he boldly went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Pilate, astonished that he should have died so soon, summoned the centurion and enquired if he had been dead for some time. Having been assured of this by the centurion, he granted the corpse to Joseph who bought a shroud, took Jesus down from the cross, wrapped him in the shroud and laid him in a tomb which had been hewn out of the rock. He then rolled a stone against the entrance to the tomb. Mary of Magdala and Mary the mother of Joset took note of where he was laid.
Mark 16: 1-8
The empty tomb. The angel’s message
When the Sabbath was over, Mary of Magdala, Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices with which to go and anoint him. And very early in the morning on the first day of the week they went to the tomb when the sun had risen.
They had been saying to one another, ‘Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?’ But when they looked they saw that the stone—which was very big—had already been rolled back. On entering the tomb they saw a young man in a white robe seated on the right–hand side, and they were struck with amazement. But he said to them, ‘There is no need to be so amazed. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified: he has risen, he is not here. See, here is the place where they laid him. But you must go and tell his disciples and Peter, "He is going ahead of you to Galilee; that is where you will see him, just as he told you." ’ And the women came out and ran away from the tomb because they were frightened out of their wits; and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.
Mark 16: 9-11
Appearances of the risen Christ
Having risen in the morning on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary of Magdala from whom he had cast out seven devils. She then went to those who had been his companions, and who were mourning and in tears, and told them. But they did not believe her when they heard her say that he was alive and that she had seen him.
John 14: 6
Jesus said: I am the Way; I am Truth and Life...
Galatians 2: 19-20
I have been crucified with Christ and yet I am alive; yet it is no longer I, but Christ living in me.
Mark 16: 12-20
After this, he showed himself under another form to two of them as they were on their way into the country. These went back and told the others, who did not believe them either.
Lastly, he showed himself to the Eleven themselves while they were at table. He reproached them for their incredulity and obstinacy, because they had refused to believe those who had seen him after he had risen. And he said to them, ‘Go out to the whole world; proclaim the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned. These are the signs that will be associated with believers: in my name they will cast out devils; they will have the gift of tongues; they will pick up snakes in their hands and be unharmed should they drink deadly poison; they will lay their hands on the sick, who will recover.’
And so the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven; there at the right hand of God he took his place, while they, going out, preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word by the signs that accompanied it.

Sing: Take Lord Receive
From The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius,
by Louis J. Puhl, S.J. p. 2546. PRAYER. In the preparatory prayer I will beg God
our Lord for grace that all my intentions, actions,
and operations may be directed purely to the
praise and service of His Divine Majesty.
Kingdom of God
(1) Christ calls us to go out into
the world and tell the Good-News.
(2) Jesus has died, and He has risen.
(3) We are to promote His Kingdom.
(4) We are to tell the world about
His Church.
(5) We are His apostles.
(6) The devil wants people to spread
his errors.
(7) May 13, 1993
(8) God wants union with us.
(9) John 17: 20-25
I pray not only for these
but also for those
who through their teaching
will come to believe in me.
May they all be one,
just as, Father, you are in me
and I am in you,
so that they also may be in us,
so that the world may believe
it was you who sent me.
I have given them the glory
you gave to me,
that they may be one as we are one.
With me in them and you in me,
may they be so perfected in unity
that the world will recognise
that it was you who sent me
and that you have loved them
as you have loved me.
Father,
I want those you have given me
to be with me where I am,
so that they may always see my glory
which you have given me
because you loved me
before the foundation of the world.
Father, Upright One,
the world has not known you,
but I have known you,
and these have known
that you have sent me.

Jesus speaks: Promote My Kingdom
Your life is so short.
Be as little children, docile, loving —
living to please your heavenly Father.

The Father and the Son
At that time Jesus exclaimed, ‘I bless you, Father, Lord of heaven and of earth, for hiding these things from the learned and the clever and revealing them to little children. Yes, Father, for that is what it pleased you to do. Everything has been entrusted to me by my Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father, just as no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

Excerpt from the Mass Book
IN THE DEEPEST RECESSES OF HIS HEART
The place Jesus took me was into the deepest recesses of His Heart. I was enveloped in His burning love. It was a red room with heat and an intense glow. I was swept away in this embrace, and I only existed in Him. The power of the Almighty God enveloped me, and I only existed in Him. There was no fear, for I was existent in this Almighty Being. My heart was wrapped in the eternal embrace of this Supreme Being. The security, the power I know was His deep presence in which I existed.
I knew the room was red and warm. I knew His immenseness, but I felt my own completeness in Him. I did not feel little, as a speck, but elevated and empowered for I existed then in Him in a most special way.
I was overtaken by the love of God. The fire of the Holy Spirit filled me. I was absorbed by the love of the Father, and I existed IN Him and in the deepest recesses of the Heart of Jesus. Our heaven on earth is these inner chambers of His magnificent Heart - the Heart of the Almighty God, with all the power, with omnipotence, with the fire of the love of God. He took me to the deepest chamber of this fiery Heart, and in that moment, I touched eternity, for I knew what it was to be enveloped in the deep furnace of His love. I now want to exist in this chamber of His Heart, swept away in His burning love, absorbed in my every cell with His love.
We do not understand the fire of His love. We do not understand what it is to be absorbed by love itself. He took me to the inner, deepest chamber of His Heart, and I felt the heat and knew the presence of love itself, and there was no fear, only a feeling of completeness, omnipotence, all-embracing, penetrating love - a power indescribable in words, a saturation of my being in the presence of God, and I was as I was created to be - living in Him!
This is how I will forever live my life, saturated with His divine life and love deep within this inner chamber of His burning Heart, living in Him as He possesses my being, and I operate with His power in me.
Little creatures though we are, we are His, His power, His life, flowing through us. In Him, we are as the Father intended: one in Him, each one of us, dwelling in this fiery furnace of His love. With our fears quieted and our hearts empowered by His life, we live forever in Him - in the Heart of Jesus.
Let no man separate what God has joined together. I am wed in the deepest love with my beloved Spouse, wed to the Heart of Jesus. As I am, I am one in Him. I live and I breathe in Him. He, Who is love, He Who is our all, He Who is mighty and without limits, He Who is, He Who is God and as I live, He lives in me in this world.
I am wed to Him, and I shall not fear for He is God - one, complete, loving, God. Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in Thee. As I live, I live in Your most adorable Heart, the furnace of God's love!

A Way of Spiritual Life
The way of spiritual life proposed to the members of Shepherds of Christ Associates is centered in consecration to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. All aspects of the spiritual life discussed below should be viewed as means to help members develop their lives in consecration to Christ, the Sacred Heart, and to Mary, the Immaculate Heart.
An Overview of the Spiritual Life
The Christian life is rooted in the great event of the Incarnation. We must consequently always focus our gaze upon Christ, realizing that everything the Father wishes to tell us has been summed up in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. It only remains for us, then, to strive to understand with greater insight the inexhaustible truth of the Word Incarnate: "In many and various ways God spoke of old to our fathers by the prophets; but in these last days He has spoken to us by a Son, Whom He appointed the heir of all things, through Whom also He created the world." (Heb. 1: 1-2) (1)
What was the condition of the human race at the time of Christ's coming? In some ways, people were much the same as we are today. There were those just being born into this world of human drama. There were those who, in death, were leaving it, some of whom had grasped but little of life's meaning. There were those who were healthy and vigorous. There were those who were sick and lame. Some especially felt the burdens, the grief, the suffering of the human condition. Others were ebullient and desired all the pleasures life could provide. There was some good being accomplished. Immorality, however, was rampant. What St. Paul tells us concerning the time that immediately followed Christ's existence certainly could also be applied to the time of His entrance into the world. It is, in short, an ugly picture that St. Paul depicts for us (Rom. 1: 22-32).
Into such a depraved condition Jesus entered, with a full and generous Heart, to lead the human race from the depths of sinfulness to the vibrant richness of a new life in Himself. Through His enfleshment, this Christ became the focal point of all history. The authentic hopes and dreams of the human family, now so overshadowed by the ugliness of sin, came converging upon this Christ. He would gather them up in Himself, give them a new luster and brilliance and dynamism, and would lead the human family back to the Father in the Holy Spirit.
Christ was radically to release us from the dominion of sin and elevate us to a new level of existence. This life Christ has given us is not a type of superstructure which is erected atop human existence. Although nature and grace are distinct, they do not lie side by side as separate entities. Rather, grace permeates nature. The Christian is one graced person. The Christian is one who has been raised up, caught up, into a deeper form of life in Christ Jesus. Nothing that is authentically human in the life of the Christian has been excluded from this new existence. Whatever is really human in the life of the Christian is meant to be an expression of the Christ-life. The simple but deep joys of family life, the wonderment at nature's beauty, the warm embrace of a mother for her child, the agony of crucial decision making, the success or frustration that is experienced in one's work, the joy of being well received by others, and the heartache of being misunderstood--all these experiences are intended to be caught up in Christ and made more deeply human because of Him.
Jesus has come, then, not to destroy anything that is authentically human, but to perfect it by leading it to a graced fulfillment. This is the meaning of the Word's becoming flesh, the meaning of the Incarnation. The more God-like we become through Christ, the more human we become.
We, through our incorporation into Christ which occurs at Baptism, are meant to relive the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. In doing so, we are not only accomplishing our own salvation, but we are assisting in the salvation of others also. The Incarnation continues all the time. Christ, of course, is the one Who fundamentally continues the Incarnation. But He enlists our help. The world no longer sees Jesus, no longer is able to reach out and touch Him. We are the ones who now, in some way, make Christ visible and tangible. In union with the invisible, glorified Christ, and depending on Him as our source of life, we continue the Incarnation in its visible and temporal dimensions. This is our great privilege. This is our great responsibility.
The Christian is initiated into the mystery of Christ, into his or her role in prolonging the Incarnation, through Baptism. In the words of St. Paul: "Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? We were buried therefore with Him by Baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life." (Rom. 6: 3-4).
It is not sufficient, however, that we be incorporated into Christ through Baptism. All forms of life require nourishment. So, too, our life in Christ must be continually nourished. How can we continually keep in contact with Christ? There are various ways. We contact Christ in a most special way through the liturgy, above all in the Eucharistic liturgy. Here the entire course of salvation history, as centered in Jesus, is sacramentally renewed and continued. Through our most special and most personal meeting with Jesus in the Mass, we are more deeply incorporated into Christ. Also, we should remember that all the sacraments make up part of the Church's liturgy.
The reading of Scripture provides another special opportunity for meeting Jesus. This is true for both Old and New Testaments. The Old Testament prefigures the New Testament and leads to it. It is obvious, however, that we meet Christ especially in the pages of the New Testament. How true it is to say that not to be familiar with Scripture is not to know Jesus properly. We should resolve to read from Scripture daily.
We also meet Jesus in our interaction with others. Everyone we meet, everyone we serve, is in the image of Jesus. We have to take the means to grow in this awareness. If I truly believe that everyone has been redeemed by the blood of Jesus, how should I treat everyone?
These, then, are some of the ways we keep in contact with Jesus. Common to the various ways of meeting Jesus is a certain degree of prayerful reflection. Our contact with Jesus in the liturgy, in Scripture, and in our interaction with others, and so forth, will not be all that it should be unless we are persons of prayer. The light and strength of prayer enables us to keep in contact with Jesus as we should.
We live out our Christ-life in an atmosphere of love. Indeed, the life Jesus has given us is centered in love. It has its origins in the mysterious love of God: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life" (Jn 3: 16).
Our new life in Jesus has arisen out of God's fathomless love. Christ, in His descent into human flesh, has established a milieu of love. The life He came to give can flourish only in the framework of love. Indeed, we can summarize the meaning of the Christian life by stating that it is our loving response to God's love. The pierced Heart of Jesus, this Heart which shed its last drop of blood in the greatest love for each one of us, is the symbol of God's tremendous love for us. Christ's Heart also calls us to respond by giving ourselves in love to God and neighbor. Yes, Jesus invites us to respond to God's love by giving ourselves in love to Him in an ever closer union. The more closely we are united to Him, the greater is our capacity to love God and neighbor. The more closely we are united with Jesus, the more closely He unites us to the Father in the Holy Spirit, with Mary our Mother at our side.

THE JOYFUL MYSTERIES
Luke 1: 26-38
The annunciation
In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the House of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. He went in and said to her, ‘Rejoice, you who enjoy God’s favour! The Lord is with you.’ She was deeply disturbed by these words and asked herself what this greeting could mean, but the angel said to her, ‘Mary, do not be afraid; you have won God’s favour. Look! You are to conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you must name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David; he will rule over the House of Jacob for ever and his reign will have no end.’ Mary said to the angel, ‘But how can this come about, since I have no knowledge of man?’ The angel answered, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will cover you with its shadow. And so the child will be holy and will be called Son of God. And I tell you this too: your cousin Elizabeth also, in her old age, has conceived a son, and she whom people called barren is now in her sixth month, for nothing is impossible to God.’ Mary said, ‘You see before you the Lord’s servant, let it happen to me as you have said.’ And the angel left her.
The Annunciation
Luke 1: 39-56
The visitation
Mary set out at that time and went as quickly as she could into the hill country to a town in Judah. She went into Zechariah’s house and greeted Elizabeth. Now it happened that as soon as Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the child leapt in her womb and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. She gave a loud cry and said, ‘Of all women you are the most blessed, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. Why should I be honoured with a visit from the mother of my Lord? Look, the moment your greeting reached my ears, the child in my womb leapt for joy. Yes, blessed is she who believed that the promise made her by the Lord would be fulfilled.’
The Magnificat
And Mary said:
My soul proclaims
the greatness of the Lord
and my spirit rejoices
in God my Saviour;
because he has looked upon
the humiliation of his servant.
Yes, from now onwards
all generations will call me blessed,
for the Almighty
has done great things for me.
Holy is his name,
and his faithful love extends age after age
to those who fear him.
He has used the power of his arm,
he has routed the arrogant of heart.
He has pulled down princes
from their thrones
and raised high the lowly.
He has filled the starving with good things,
sent the rich away empty.
He has come to the help
of Israel his servant,
mindful of his faithful love
—according to the promise
he made to our ancestors—
of his mercy to Abraham
and to his descendants for ever.
Mary stayed with her some three months and then went home.
The Visitation
Luke 2: 1-14
The birth of Jesus
and visit of the shepherds
Now it happened that at this time Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be made of the whole inhabited world. This census—the first—took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria, and everyone went to be registered, each to his own town. So Joseph set out from the town of Nazareth in Galilee for Judaea, to David’s town called Bethlehem, since he was of David’s House and line, in order to be registered together with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child. Now it happened that, while they were there, the time came for her to have her child, and she gave birth to a son, her first–born. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them in the living–space. In the countryside close by there were shepherds out in the fields keeping guard over their sheep during the watches of the night. An angel of the Lord stood over them and the glory of the Lord shone round them. They were terrified, but the angel said, ‘Do not be afraid. Look, I bring you news of great joy, a joy to be shared by the whole people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. And here is a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.’ And all at once with the angel there was a great throng of the hosts of heaven, praising God with the words:
Glory
to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace for those he favours.
The Birth of the Lord Jesus
Luke 2: 22-39
Jesus is presented in the Temple
And when the day came for them to be purified in keeping with the Law of Moses, they took him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord— observing what is written in the Law of the Lord: Every first–born male must be consecrated to the Lord— and also to offer in sacrifice, in accordance with what is prescribed in the Law of the Lord, a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons. Now in Jerusalem there was a man named Simeon. He was an upright and devout man; he looked forward to the restoration of Israel and the Holy Spirit rested on him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death until he had set eyes on the Christ of the Lord. Prompted by the Spirit he came to the Temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the Law required, he took him into his arms and blessed God; and he said:
The Nunc Dimittis
Now, Master, you are letting
your servant
go in peace
as you promised;
for my eyes have seen the salvation
which
you have made ready
in the sight of the nations;
a light of
revelation for the gentiles
and glory for your people Israel.
The prophecy of Simeon
As the child’s father and mother were wondering at the things that were being said about him, Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, ‘Look, he is destined for the fall and for the rise of many in Israel, destined to be a sign that is opposed—and a sword will pierce your soul too—so that the secret thoughts of many may be laid bare.’
The prophecy of Anna
There was a prophetess, too, Anna the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was well on in years. Her days of girlhood over, she had been married for seven years before becoming a widow. She was now eighty–four years old and never left the Temple, serving God night and day with fasting and prayer. She came up just at that moment and began to praise God; and she spoke of the child to all who looked forward to the deliverance of Jerusalem.
The hidden life of Jesus at Nazareth
When they had done everything the Law of the Lord required, they went back to Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth.
The Presentation of Our Lord in the Temple
Luke 2: 41-50
Jesus among the doctors of the Law
Every year his parents used to go to Jerusalem for the feast of the Passover. When he was twelve years old, they went up for the feast as usual. When the days of the feast were over and they set off home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem without his parents knowing it. They assumed he was somewhere in the party, and it was only after a day’s journey that they went to look for him among their relations and acquaintances. When they failed to find him they went back to Jerusalem looking for him everywhere.
It happened that, three days later, they found him in the Temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them, and asking them questions; and all those who heard him were astounded at his intelligence and his replies. They were overcome when they saw him, and his mother said to him, ‘My child, why have you done this to us? See how worried your father and I have been, looking for you.’ He replied, ‘Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?’ But they did not understand what he meant.

The Seven Sorrows of Mary…

Excerpt from Tell My People
The Holy Spirit
Jesus: "My beloved friend, tell My people to pray daily to the Holy Spirit. They are to pray for an increase in His gifts. My people must realize that the Holy Spirit comes to transform them. The Spirit desires to transform you more and more according to My image. Those who are docile to His touch become increasingly shaped in My likeness. He performs this marvel within Mary's Immaculate Heart. The more one dwells in My Mother's Heart, the more active are the workings of the Spirit. The Spirit leads Mary to place you within My own Heart. In both Our Hearts, then, your transformation continues. The more you are formed after My own Heart, the more I lead you to the bosom of My Father. Tell My people all this. Tell them to pray daily for a greater appreciation of these wondrous gifts. I am Lord and Master. All who come to My Heart will be on fire to receive the gifts of the Spirit in ever greater measure! I love and bless My people!"

The World Has Become Evil
December 19, 1993
Jesus speaks: . . .Watch your children. If he is this cunning with adults, think how he attacks the young and innocent without a whimper. He hits them hard. They see TV and games and other children who are mean and their innocent minds get distorted views of the truth while they are still tiny babies. An evil world makes evil hearts. It is a sick world. It raises a sick culture which has sick children.
Oh, what a setup! You have a chance, America. You have Me and I am here with you every day in the Eucharist. I have all the power. Satan does not have My power. He uses people and gets their power. Guard against his ways. You are under attack from the very culture which bore you. You have a chance. You have Me and I have you. With My might, one person fixed to God can lead an army. Never, ever, doubt your commitment to Me. It is a 24-hour, minute-by-minute commitment in this world. You need never to let your commitment to Me down for a split second. I am He Who sustains you in an evil world. You, America, don't know how truly evil your world has become. You are about to be shaken off your rocker. How can such evil continue?
Prepare the way of the Lord. I will come like a thief in the night and those who stay fixed to their evil ways will be swallowed up. Prepare your hearts for your God. He is all that matters. The world is very, very sick. Don't go to the world to feed your heart. It will swallow it up and you will be heartless. This world is heartless. Oh, little babies, protect your children. Teach them about Me at their first day here. I am all that matters. Other teachings will not save your soul. Your children need to be taught about God. Pray to the Holy Spirit every day. You need to receive all My gifts. He will make your way clear like a snowplow on a winter evening. You will see the road clear ahead, but only by the direction of the Spirit. Pray for His gifts and profess your love to Him. Love My Father and the Holy Spirit. They want you to profess your love to Them. We are three persons in God. Love each of Us!
We love you so. Know Us all and pray to Mary. You need her strength against the devil. She is ready to battle with you in this evil world. You are in battle. You are under attack. Your supplies are given in front of the tabernacle in quiet moments alone with Me. I give you your arms to fight this evil war. If you do not come, you are going into battle without ammunition. You need your arms. Come to Me and let Me give you your supplies. Your children need your committedness to Me. The world needs every last soul to be holy to fight this battle. It is a heritage you pass on to others when you come and pray with Me.
You are the light to the darkened night. You are little but mighty because you are powered by God and His light is the brightest light. Be vigilant. Do not put down your guard. You are under fire by a sick world. When you are fired at, it is sudden and abrupt. You are not warned. You are just fired at. Come to Jesus to get your arms. Only He can give you what you need. Oh, how I love you. I love you to My death. I love you with intensity. I am your Savior, your one, true God. Alleluia. You have warded off another attack!
