Prayer for Grace for our Country
Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our president and leaders. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.

Forgiveness
R. One of the handmaids got their car stuck
in the mud and they had to get the auto club
to pull it out.
Holding on to anger is like getting ourselves
stuck in the mud. I fell in the garage on
a riding toy that became like a big skate
and twisted my leg really bad. It was a very
stretched ham string – I didn't even know
I could wound myself so badly and it took
all my efforts to heal over weeks to want
life, to want mobility.
It took so long to heal that wound and I
could not ignore it – It was all consuming –
it was the agenda.
A person can be angry with their mother
or father or someone in significant love
relationships for 60 years and in an attempt
to get rid of the unfinished business –
act-out on innocent others for years –
not getting rid of any of the needed wound
that needs healing, but can be bound in
anger toward the other they need to forgive,
like a car stuck in the mud – It isn't going
anywhere and it isn't pretty no matter
how much you spin the wheels – it just
gets deeper.
We see Christ on the cross – Our teacher, our
God – He loved us so much – He took on the
weight of our sins and He carried them on His
back to the cross and He mounted the cross
and died for our sins.
The Son of God teaches us about love
and healing and forgiveness.
Colossians 1: 13-14
Because that is what he has done. It is he who has rescued us from the ruling force of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of the Son that he loves, and in him we enjoy our freedom, the forgiveness of sin.
Ephesians 1: 7
in whom, through his blood,
we gain our freedom,
the forgiveness of our sins.
Such is the richness of the grace
Psalm 130: 3-4
If you kept a record of our sins,
Lord, who could stand their ground?
But with you is forgiveness,
R. So we all heard the story of a child killed by
a drunk driver and if the parents do not forgive
they destroy themselves.
Lack of forgiveness is like mud in the gas-tank.
Do you think an automobile will run with mud
in the tank?
Lack of forgiveness holds that person bound
to the person who has wronged them –
Freedom is in forgiveness.
The commandment says to love God with my
whole heart, my whole soul, my whole
being and love my neighbor as myself.
To do this – to love – I must first see myself
as so loved by God, so loved, Jesus gives
us His love letters.
Did you read a love letter? Isn't it far
richer to get a love letter from the Divine God?
This whole movement is about knowing God's
love and loving God and others as we must
to be free, to be happy, to operate on God's
agenda, do God's will and live in love.
As long as we hold onto anger, bitterness
toward someone who has wronged us –
we aren't free.
R. Remember the dark room full of big
clunky furniture – it is so dark, so you
keep running into it! Holding onto big
things of unforgiveness is like being in
the dark with big obstacles, but it can
be like a bear up there with you – if you
let those obstacles of unforgiveness grow
to be monsters in your own life.
Reality can be immensely distorted as the
heart becomes more angry, shut
down and blaming others for your
prison of self-will and pride.
Freedom is like the Hot Air Balloon
on Blue Book I – you sail the skies
and Jesus runs the balloon.
Matthew 6: 14-15
‘Yes, if you forgive others their failings, your heavenly Father will forgive you yours; but if you do not forgive others, your Father will not forgive your failings either.
Mark 11: 25
And when you stand in prayer, forgive whatever you have against anybody, so your Father in heaven may forgive your failings too.’
Luke 24: 46-47
and he said to them, ‘So it is written that the Christ would suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that, in his name, repentance for the forgiveness of sins would be preached to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
R. I watched a movie about a daughter and
father who had left her most of her life.
She was a deep rooted Christian. He was driving
her across the US to college. At first she
would not talk to him, she had head-phones,
she would not have any conversation with him.
To make a long story short – she eventually
let go and forgave him before college and
she loved him and now would have a
relationship with the father who now was
available to her and wanted to be her father
and be forgiven.
The girl could have been mad and acting-out
her whole life – she moved into freedom –
and happiness being united to her dad.
Even if the party is dead that the anger and
forgiveness is directed at - the wound cannot
be healed if it is denied and not worked on.
We need God's grace to love. Love is a super-natural
virtue. Only God can help us to love super-naturally.
Watch a person mad at another and holding
onto anger – they are not free. Eventually
a person must forgive if they want peace
at least praying for the person or they
are held bound by their own unforgiveness.
Forgiveness may be a process one has to
go through, but it needs to ultimately come
or the person is not free. Forgiving another,
like a parent deceased, can be praying
for them, trying to see what they did do.
A person with cancer if they want to
live has to work at it and want to live.
Unforgiveness is like a tire stuck in
the mud – that goes deeper and deeper
and deeper. We can be a prison to our own
despair. We need God's help to accept
the situation and deal with it.
We need to surrender to God's will to do what
we must and things of the past work
through them to freedom for ourselves in
our heart. We must be honest about
things, not living a victim mentality of
untruths.
A person full of anger and punishment
at a dead parent can try to destroy
anything good that comes in their life –
while they deny their own past and pain.
Dear God, please give us the grace
we need most to forgive and pray for
those who have hurt us.
The Serenity Prayer God grant me the Serenity to accept the Courage to change the things I can

and Wisdom to know the difference.
THE TWELVE STEPS OF AA Here are the steps we took, which are suggested as a program of recovery:
1. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol,

A person can put themselves in slavery
and chains with what they tell

letters it gave me a personal - freedom
and help from the Divine God to face
my problems with His help.
A person in an abusive relationship
may need to change things in their
situation, but dealing with every day
ways to peace is we need healing from
the wounds in significant relationships
in the past and we need to be working
on growing in the spiritual life in God.
Having a Power greater than ourselves Jesus: My dear child, if
you stay close to Me, then I live in you and you live in Me. I am He Who
created you and I love you with such an intensity that you will never know. My
words are your truth. You must abide in My heart in all things. There is no
room for doubt. My ways are steadfast, direct, and without error. You must stay rooted in Me to ward off
the power of the evil one. His grip is paralyzing and crippling. His power is
stronger every day. When you live in Me, I am in your heart
and he has no power over Me. I am your God. I am your true lover. I want to
protect you. I want to guard you from this force. Stay rooted firmly in Me and
he will have no power. I am He Who comforts you. My hand is upon
you. Hold tight to Me, My child. My eyes are fixed right on you. You are My
most precious child. I love you as no other can. My arms are about you. My
tenderness surrounds you. My love is in your heart. You go not alone. I walk
with you. I share every aspect of your life with
you. Cling to Me, feel My presence. It is warm and secure within your chest.
There is no room for fear, for I cast out fear and bring you comfort and joy.

Jesus:
My dear children,Today I come to deliver a message to each of you. I want to tell you of each person’s dignity, of their beauty and their self-worth. Each child is, oh, so uniquely precious to My Most Sacred Heart. Each child is full of the talents I have given to them. Each person is divinely created by God and given all these gifts to be happy and love one another.
The problem comes when you feel you will be left out. That you will be left by another who has trodden on you and will do it again. I see you all as My most precious children. I watch your every move and know all pain and anguish in your heart. My Heart aches, you have insecure feelings about yourself. I came to this earth I died for you. I felt cold, hungry, lonely on this earth. You need not worry that no one knows the pain and anguish in your heart. God created you with such special gifts and talents. It is important for you to raise above your wound and forgive those who hurt you.
You need only turn your will and your life over to Me and I will guide you in all your ways. I have all the Power. Many are not of My ways. The key to life is to recognize your faults, but still know you are this precious gift of My Father a gift to this world. This world is in need of your strength. Running yourself down, blaming others hurting them can cause you misery and pain. At this very moment, you are the precious creation of God!! You must operate with Me in your heart.
You need not run yourself down. I am with you every day guiding your ways, lest your foot stumble and you lose your way. You will not wander far from your path if every day you keep bringing your focus back to Me. If you dare let Me be at the helm, if you dare to really let Me run your life, I will do with you such wonders that you yourself would be amazed. But you will know with such ease when you did these things that you did not do them alone. You will know My power, moving the mountain, My power chipping at the stone, My power working on your hardest problem and you will be set free.
Oh yes, you will be set free and know a serenity that only comes from letting go and letting Me run your life. To you, My child, I have given all that is good. I made you My holy soldier, My warrior in a world of pain and hatred. You are the light that shines in the darkness, you are the coat to a cold child, you are the smile that warms a troubled and lonely heart. You are the comfort for everyone you meet, because My most precious Heart powers you, smiles through you, understands and loves through you.
Love your fellows for Me. There are so many troubled hearts that need to know My love. I can love through you if you let Me, I can be their friend through you if you let Me. I am He who comforts you and you are he who comforts them. My power is endless, it never runs out, there is not a power failure EVER. In your darkest hour, My light shines in the darkness and I say to you, “Oh blessed of My Father, look at yourself with awe, you are My creation, you are indeed so precious to Me, you are My light to this world, you are My hands and My feet and most of all My Heart.”
Oh, you are My loving Heart, to those who are bowed down, to those who are lost in the darkness, you carry My smile and wear My armor in a world that is trying to tear one another down with hate and ugliness. There is gentleness, there is love, there is hope in you, if you open yourself up to Me. Be My knight to the world, wear My armor. I am your God and I will protect you from the darkness. Plug into My power, be not afraid, I go before you always and you can rest in My arms when you feel weary. You can put your head in My lap and weep, you will know, I am truly with you and you are My light to this world. I created you so special - to cast out fear in the darkness, to clothe the naked, to give hope to the oppressed, to be as I live in you and love through you and you are My smile and I touch My hurting ones through your love.
You are he who loves this world. You must stay plugged into My power-source. This world is hungry for My love. It needs My love, I give to them through you. I am your God and I made you as a gift to the world. You are filled.
Focus on Me and your life will be abundant and whole, joy in suffering, freedom but you can take the knocks because you will know you do not go it alone, but with Me. I love you My precious child.
R. On May 13, 1981 Pope John Paul II was shot –
the man was attempting to kill him.
The next year May 13, 1982
Pope John Paul II went to the man
and told him - he forgave him.

Jesus: Controlling ones thoughts
R. Disciplining one's will
Luke 15: 2
and the Pharisees and scribes complained saying, ‘This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.’ So he told them this parable:
R. In the prodigal son parable
Christ welcomed back the sinner.
Jesus healed those seeking forgiveness.
Jesus wants us to admit our sins
and ask to be forgiven.
The devil on the other hand, wants
the person to deceive himself
about the sin, to look as if
he really never sinned.
This will keep the person stuck
for they are enslaved to the
pride of showing not a
sorry son of the Father,
but one of deceit for his appearance
before others.
The father in the prodigal son parable
missed his son and was grateful
for his return.
The other son could be one of us that
says in Luke 15: 2 about Christ
could not be of God because he
welcomes sinners.
Luke 15: 2
and the Pharisees and scribes complained saying, ‘This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.’ So he told them this parable:
R. One thing I saw in the movie, Pope John Paul II,
Karol, he was loving to the
sinners, he loved the person,
he forgave their sins –
even a Nazi soldier who went
to confession, who had a wife and
children, had the courage to stand up
for the truth and so he was shot
and the priest who heard his
confession was shot - dead by the Nazis.
God has given us the prodigal
son parable for a reason.
We can never underestimate the
mercy of God. God is all merciful
to the sinner who comes and asks
for forgiveness.
God knows all things, we are
never fooling God –
He reads the mind and heart –
We see that in His mercy Jesus
forgave Mary Magdalene and she
was under the cross at the Crucifixion
while most of the apostles were
not.
R. We see how St. Monica prayed for
St. Augustine and how much
St. Augustine contributed to
salvation history and the Church
because of his conversion.
God reads the hearts, he knows our
ways and the purity of our
confession, the disposition of
the heart in asking for forgiveness.
Christ came for sinners, and we
are all sinners –
1 John 1: 8-10
If we say, ‘We have no sin,’
we are deceiving ourselves,
and truth has no place in us;
if we acknowledge our sins,
he is trustworthy and upright,
so that he will forgive our sins
and will cleanse us from all evil.
If we say, ‘We have never sinned,’
we make him a liar,
and his word has no place in us.
R. The prodigal son can be the situation in
which we can fall into the one son
or the other.
We all need to be saved.
We all need to repent from our sins.
We all must recognize God's mercy
for forgiveness.
Pope John Paul II was shot by a man May 13, 1981
who was attempting to kill him –
On May 13, 1982 Pope John Paul II
went to the man and told him he
forgave him.
Fr. Carter says - sin is rupture in
relationships.
We are to work on the relationships
in our lives –
Our first relationship is with God –
God is to be the ruler of our lives.
God wants us to love His will.
What we do to others, we do to Him –
we pray to God to forgive our sins
so we will not block His plan
with somebody else.
No man is an island, if we were all
doing God's will there would be
unity and harmony amongst
the brethren. There would be
love as brothers under God.
This is the Plan of our Heavenly
Father –
Matthew 12: 46-50
He was still speaking to the crowds when suddenly his mother and his brothers were standing outside and were anxious to have a word with him. But to the man who told him this Jesus replied, 'Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?' And stretching out his hand towards his disciples he said, 'Here are my mother and my brothers. Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.'
R. Think of the scripture of the prodigal
son.
the Father receives the prodigal
son back home.
We pray for the grace that we know
more and more the mercy of God.
Look at St. Paul and the contribution
that he made.
"Saul, Saul why do you persecute
Me?"
And we know St. Paul had
scales that fell from his eyes.
Remember the blind man scripture
on the 4th Sunday of Lent.
Are we not all like that blind man
and God shows us mercy –
We are praying for God to help us see
where we are blind in our thoughts
where satan is deceiving us and
we give into pride and jealousy and
envy, slothfulness, lust, greed,
gluttony, and wrath.
God is all merciful – He forgives
sinners who want to be forgiven.
Our Lady of Fatima's message centers in
praying for the conversion of
sinners, ourselves included
in our blindness and our
prideful ways.
We are ungrateful for all the gifts
He gives us. In the retreats He called
us to be deeply united and to pray and
sing whole-heartedly in reparation for our
sins and the sins of the whole world –
to pray for grace, while we honored
Him with our love and devotion –
The 13th in China was so powerful –
the unity and love was very strong
and the prayer so powerful. It is
so powerful when we are deeply
united to God and praying in oneness
to Him. The graces flow from this
united, heartfelt prayer.
From this retreat we know more
His presence in our prayer chapters
and in our daily prayers, knowing our
Shepherds of Christ family is united every
day in their lives – praying for the priests,
the Church and the world.
Today we end the 9 day retreat
on Holy Monday with my cousin
Fr. Don McCarthy saying Mass.
It was a most powerful retreat in
Florida and in China. We were using
Blue Book 13, and receiving guidance
on discipling our thoughts, as a
message as the main theme – with
independence a second theme.
Here is a message Jesus gave on
independence as I began the retreat.
Excerpt from March 31, 2014
R. So how can such division and disharmony
in
relationships work in today's world?
The very structure of such division
is opposed to unity, harmony, structure which is
God's will.
God wants us to be
like brothers caring for
each other.
Satan has worked in the people to chose
their ways by whether or not
they remain independent of each other –
and this is how they make decisions –
to stay separated, disconnected,
disharmonious and in control –
not observing structure or
obeying authority and
trying to prove the wrong
they do as right –
lying to do it if they have to.
INDEPENDENCE
Everyone
sees disunity – you
wear it like clothes.
R. The retreat is life changing, after
it is over it is up to us to carry what
we learned to the community, to all –
in our lives to live it.
It is not a let down, but a beginning
to bring the gifts we received in the
retreat to our lives and the lives we
touch, as we progress to greater
Christian maturity on our way
to Him, to practice being all He
wants us to be and live our lives
in peace and love.
Satan wants commotion, stimulation,
argumentation, disharmony.
God is blessing us every day helping
us to live holy lives praying for the
priests, the Church and the world
and spreading the Consecration to
the Two Hearts as Mary asked for
at Fatima.
We can say "yes" God and beg
Him for the grace of this retreat to
be a blessing to us and all we
touch and know He will give us
a boost in the Sidney Rosary and
then the next retreat, the 5th,
the 13th is such a blessing and
many are united in
the Daily Message and the Internet prayer.
This Shepherds of Christ is a way of life God
has given us to be Apostles of His
Sacred Heart in the world, in our
lives, but to give our commitment
to help us grow and know we
need more every day. He gives
us the Blue Books and Fr. Joe's and
Fr. Carter's writings. God gives us
the Shepherds of Christ - way of life – the
Mass, the prayers, the hours of adoration,
the instructions, the hourly prayer,
the Morning Offering, the rosary,
the Divine Mercy –
God has taught us how to be humble
Apostles of His Sacred Heart and
children of our Mother Mary.
The prodigal son shows us about
the father and His love for the sinner
and his desire for him to return –
the sinner who was a wayfarer
and wandered off in his independence
of God's will, independence of the family
God intended him to be an integral
part of.
This independence the sinner
seeks is really enslavement when
his life is lived opposed to God's
will and what is first in his life
is not God's will, but "independence".
Where does an old man get, when his
independence has backed him up
against a wall and he has no
friends when he needs help.
We can recall the story of Scrooge
and the different movies and stories
that portray an old miser who
keeps his stash in a barn and
doesn't give the scraps to the
man in need.
What happens when we are
called by God and all our treasures
we horded have to be left behind
to relatives grateful we are
leaving them to them.
There is the saying
"What comes around - goes around"
or something like that –
What is the meaning of life?
We are here for relationships – putting
God first and recognizing we are
dependent to Him. We are here to
be united as brothers and sisters
in the Father's family. We are to
love God with all our heart and love
our neighbor as ourselves.
We are to seek forgiveness and
give forgiveness to others.
We are to live by rules set
by God –
the greatest Commandment concerning
living a life of relationships.
We watched the movie Pollyanna and
she tries to see the good in everything –
she plays the "glad game."
She is the daughter of a minister
who died.
Her aunt she goes to live with wanted
to be "above" everybody and that
was her god. She wanted the
whole town to know she was
"up" and everybody under
her. She used her money to
control this.
It was a beautiful story to see
how love wins out in the end and how
Pollyanna brought unity to the town
with her love and profound "glad"-game.
One woman was so crabby in bed,
running her daughter around, having
a million pills and planning her
casket with the undertaker.
Pollyanna brought her out of that
through beautiful prism shining
in the sun, making quilts for the
orphan bizarre and the woman
changed and was so happy.
Another man, who was all alone
and feared by children came out
of his independence by loving –
thanks to Pollyanna and Jimmy Beam a
little orphan he came to love and
adopted.
Pollyanna had to pay a price for
her love,
but so did Christ –
look at the price He paid to
teach us about love.
St. Paul was murdering Christians
because of his ways. He had St. Stephen
put to death. Look at all St. Paul
contributed and does today in the
Scriptures.
We were put here in salvation history –
at this moment by God, to make our
contribution to the unity and love
and helping the world and the Church
and the individual Christian
in the state of becoming more
and more like Christ.
We as the baptized in Christ Jesus
can use God's gifts to help
do this – or to defile God by
unfaithfulness to the calling He
gives us to help build up the body
of Christ and to lift up our
brothers in the world.
Being called in the Shepherds of Christ
is a special calling to give in 7 different
vocations to the building up of the
Kingdom of God by praying as Jesus
told Fr. Carter for the priests,
the Church and the world.
Discipling one's thoughts –
realizing the presence of God:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit in our graced
baptized soul. Allowing God
to be a light in us as we surrender
to living and loving God's will in our
lives. Surrendering to God's will
means living a life of love because
God is love.
Loving is an act of the will – Praying
for the grace from God to grow in
faith, hope and love and cooperating
with this grace is a life-time work –
Let us meditate on the story
of the Good Shepherd who goes after
the lost sheep, the sheep who
have strayed.
The Good Shepherd lays
down His life for His sheep.
John 10: 14-15
I am the good shepherd;
I know my own
and my own know me,
just as the Father knows me
and I know the Father;
and I lay down my life for my sheep.
R. The Good Shepherd comes in Chapter
10 of John and the blind man
accounting is in Chapter 9 –
Our priests are called to reach out –
our priests hear confessions
and what a miracle that
one confession can be for a
priest to hear a confession
and a man's life changes!!
A priest can hear confession
and a man can confess
mortal sins and make a
good confession and he
can be saved from hell
if he changes his life!
WOW
Christ is in the priest who we go to
confession, binding up our wounds,
seeks us out and
Christ, the Good Shepherd, wants
to bring us home.
R. Christ wants to bring us home and
He does as the Good Shepherd
going after the sheep that
strayed, but He paid
a big, big price for our
sins –
He shed His blood and He
died on the cross –
Through His pierced side, the
Church was born –
water for baptized
blood for the Eucharist.
Christ gives us a sharing in His
life in baptism and
He feeds that life with
Himself!
Christ paid a price for this
gift He gives us in
confession.
Luke 23: 34
..‘Father, forgive them; they do not know what they are doing.’..
R. We see God's mercy, God's love,
God's forgiveness.
The proud man wants to
deny the truth about his
sin and satan wants
to deceive him through
confusion and distorted
thinking and vision.
Isaiah 1:18
'Come, let us talk this over,' says Yahweh.
'Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.
R. When I listen to Mary's message
August 27, 1996 (BB12) received on the
feast of St. Monica) we see how
our heavenly Mother is pleading
for the souls going to hell, her
children.
In hell there is no love, only
hate – on July 13, 1917 - Mary showed the
3 children hell

THE CHILDREN SEE HELL
As she spoke these words, Our Lady stretched out her hands, and bright rays came forth which seemed to penetrate into the earth. All at once the ground vanished, and the children found themselves standing on the brink of a sea of fire. As they peered into this dreadful place, the terrified youngsters saw huge numbers of devils and damned souls. The devils resembled hideous black animals, each filling the air with despairing shrieks. The damned souls were in their human bodies and seemed to be brown in color, tumbling about constantly in the flames and screaming with terror. All were on fire within and without their bodies, and neither devils nor damned souls seemed able to control their movements. They were tossing about in the flames like fiery coals in a furnace. There was never an instant's peace or freedom from pain.
Looking with compassion at the pale and trembling little ones, the vision spoke to them: "You have seen Hell, where the souls of poor sinners go. To save them, God wishes to establish, in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart. If people do what I tell you, many souls will be saved and there will be peace."

The Baptism of Jesus

Baptism of the Lord - January 11, 2009 Fr. Joe says:
INTRODUCTION – ...At Jesus’ baptism, the voice of God is heard, introducing Jesus to the world, as not only his servant, but as his beloved Son.
HOMILY – Today we celebrate the feast of the Baptism of our Lord. Even though it is an event that took place roughly 30 years after Jesus’ birth and the coming of the Magi, it is a feast that fits with the theme of Epiphany. Epiphany means to cause something to be seen, to show, to illuminate or manifest. In last week’s feast God revealed his son to the world as represented by the magi. God again reveals his son at the baptism by John the Baptist with his declaration from heaven: “You are my beloved son; with you I am well pleased.” So, if you think we are a little slow about removing our Christmas decorations, they are still appropriate to the season. On Monday, Ordinary time begins. It is then that the Christmas/Epiphany season is over. Since they are still so beautiful, we may keep a few poinsettia’s around for another week or so.
(2) Baptism of the Lord - January 11, 2009 continues
John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. It’s hard for us to understand why Jesus, the sinless one, God’s Son, came to John for a baptism of repentance. Even John the Baptist had difficulty understanding why Jesus came to him for baptism. As John said “I need to be baptized by you, and yet you are coming to me?” Because it is difficult to understand, various explanations have been offered as to why Jesus was baptized. 1) Some of the early Church Fathers said Jesus went into the water of the Jordan, not in order to be made holy, but to make the water holy so that all the waters of the world would become life giving through the sacrament of baptism. 2) It crossed my mind that another possible reason Jesus went to be baptized was to show us what his baptism would do, that his baptism would bring the Spirit down upon us and we would become God’s beloved children. 3) Inauguration is on everyone’s mind these days. Perhaps we can see Jesus’ baptism as his official inauguration as he began the work the Father had given him. He was ready to proclaim the gospel, the good news, that for those who turned their hearts to God, God’s Kingdom was there for them. The Father and the Spirit put their approval on him and would guide him in this ministry to the world.

4) The last possible explanation I have is perhaps Jesus went to be baptized as an example to us that we are to be baptized in order to become God’s sons and daughters. Right before Jesus ascended into heaven he sent his apostles to continue his work (and that by the way is what the word “apostle” means: one who has been sent). He told them: “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” If these were his last words, as St. Matthew tells us, baptism must be really important to our Lord.

Most of us do not remember our baptism. We don’t remember most of the things that happened to us in our earliest year. Yet those are the things that gave direction to our lives: how we were to treat others, what kinds of food we were to eat, how to care for ourselves, how to act in public, how we were to be educated. In taking us for baptism our parents were setting a direction for us, setting us on the path to holiness through faith in Jesus Christ.

Sometimes parents take their child for baptism because they think they should, but they fail to see the life of Christ that baptism gives has to be nourished and to have opportunity to grow. You might have heard the story about the family who took their second child to church for baptism and after the baptism the older child who was three years old sobbed all the way back home. His father asked what was wrong. He said, “the priest said he wanted us to be brought up in a Christian home and I want to stay with you guys.”

Baptism gives Christ’s life, a life that needs to be nurtured and given the opportunity to grow just like the baby’s physical life does. Some more fundamental religions say let the child grow up and get baptized when they’re older so they can make their own choice as to what religion they want to belong to. Parents don’t do that with anything else that’s important. They don’t say we won’t send you to school and when you’re old enough you can decide what you need to learn; or we’ll let you eat whatever you want until you’re old enough to decided for yourself. Baptism gives God’s life and sets the direction for that life. The child, when he or she is grown, will have to make his or her own choice as to if and how much he or she will be faithful to Christ. When they see their children begin to drift away, that’s when a lot of parents do some heavy praying. If this happens, don’t give up hope for them and don’t stop praying.

I feel as if my thoughts have drifted in various directions and I know much more could be said about baptism. I just want to leave you with one thought. Even though most of us may not remember our baptism, we should thank God, for in it he gave us life and the Spirit and he gave us a loving parent or parents to guide us in the ways of God.

25 The Church’s liturgical life is centered in the sacraments and, most especially, in the Eucharistic Sacrifice. We will briefly consider the sacraments in general, and then more extensively develop ideas about the Mass.The Church’s existence centers in her liturgy. Vatican II says: "The liturgy is the summit toward which the activity of the Church is directed; at the same time it is the fountain from which all her power flows."
The sacraments are special encounters with Christ. Jesus unites Himself with the sacramental sign as He offers His grace to the recipient. In this sense, Christ and His sacraments become one; the sacrament and its minister are merely instruments that Christ employs to give Himself anew. The primary sacramental encounter is between Jesus and the recipient.
Christ offers Himself through the Church and her sacraments so that we might become ever more united to Him. This incorporation into Christ begins at baptism, through which the Christian becomes a member of both Christ and the Church. What is more, this incorporation into the life of Christ means being incorporated into his paschal mystery. Death-resurrection was the summary mystery of Christ’s redemptive existence. Death-resurrection was the central mystery whereby Christ gave us life, and it is the central mystery that the Christian must relive in Christ.
Each one of the sacraments deepens our incorporation into Jesus’ death-resurrection; each one achieves this in a somewhat different manner according to its primary purpose; finally, and very importantly, each of the sacraments deepens this incorporation within an ecclesial framework. The sacraments, because they are realities of both Christ and his Church, intensify the Christian’s relationship not only with Jesus, but also with the members of the Church and, ultimately, with all others.

Life In and With Jesus

You cannot have forgotten that all of us, when we were baptised into Christ Jesus, were baptised into his death. So by our baptism into his death we were buried with him, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the Father’s glorious power, we too should begin living a new life.
The Marriage of Cana
(1) R. Christ began His public life with John
baptizing Him in the Jordon –

On the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee. The mother of Jesus was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited. And they ran out of wine, since the wine provided for the feast had all been used, and the mother of Jesus said to him, ‘They have no wine.’ Jesus said, ‘Woman, what do you want from me? My hour has not come yet.’ His mother said to the servants, ‘Do whatever he tells you.’ There were six stone water jars standing there, meant for the ablutions that are customary among the Jews: each could hold twenty or thirty gallons. Jesus said to the servants, ‘Fill the jars with water,’ and they filled them to the brim. Then he said to them, ‘Draw some out now and take it to the president of the feast.’ They did this; the president tasted the water, and it had turned into wine. Having no idea where it came from—though the servants who had drawn the water knew—the president of the feast called the bridegroom and said, ‘Everyone serves good wine first and the worse wine when the guests are well wined; but you have kept the best wine till now.’
This was the first of Jesus’ signs: it was at Cana in Galilee. He revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.

seventeen - Mary At Cana
On the third day there was a wedding in Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding. When the wine ran short, the mother of Jesus said to him, "They have no wine." [And] Jesus said to her, "Woman, how does your concern affect me? My hour has not yet come." His mother said to the servers, "Do whatever he tells you." Now there were six stone water jars there for Jewish ceremonial washings, each holding twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus told them, "Fill the jars with water." So they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, "Draw some out now and take it to the headwaiter." So they took it. And when the headwaiter tasted the water that had become wine, without knowing where it came from (although the servers who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter called the bridegroom and said to him, "Everyone serves good wine first, and then when people have drunk freely, an inferior one, but you have kept the good wine until now." Jesus did this as the beginning of his signs in Cana in Galilee and so revealed his glory, and his disciples began to believe in him. (Jn. 2:1-11).
This enigmatic scene gives rise to numerous possible explanations. It is not our intention to play the part of Scripture scholars on this passage. Our goal is to make a few focused remarks as we consider this event in Jesus' and Mary's life.
First, Fr. Raymond Brown, the Scripture scholar, says that Jesus' use of the word woman to address His Mother is unusual. His explanation includes the following:
In calling His mother "woman," Jesus may well be identifying her with the new Eve who will be the mother of His disciples as the old Eve was the "mother of all the living." She can play her role of intercession, however, only when her offspring on the Cross has crushed the serpent.37
It is interesting to note that at Calvary Jesus also refers to His Mother as "woman": Woman, behold, your son. (Jn. 19:26). The "woman" at Cana and the "woman" at the foot of the cross is indeed the New Eve, our spiritual mother.
38On Calvary, Mary, in deep anguish, sees her Son's side pierced with a lance, from which the Church is born. Mary becomes Mother of this Church, Mother of its members. St. Bonaventure, a doctor of the Church, describes this birth of the Church:
"Then, in order that the Church might be formed out of the side of Christ sleeping on the cross. . the divine plan permitted that one of the soldiers should pierce open His sacred side with a lance. While blood mixed with water flowed, the price of our salvation was poured forth, which gushing forth from the sacred fountain of the heart gave power to the sacraments of the Church…"

Mary at Cana Continues As Brown points out
above, the intercessory power
of Mary reaches a definitive stage at the foot of the
cross as Jesus gives birth to the Church. However,
Mary's act of intercession at Cana should not be taken
lightly. It is a foreshadowing of her full intercessory
power which would flower later on. The power of her
intercession with Jesus at Cana is evident. She does not request a miracle. Jesus, nonetheless, using the
occasion of her request, performs a miracle as He
changes water into wine.
There are those who think that Mary is some sort of obstacle relative to their relationship with Jesus. They falsely think that Mary "gets in the way" as they strive for union with Christ. What a mistaken idea! As Mary's request at Cana brought the attendants into contact with Jesus, so does her intercession on our behalf bring us into contact with Christ. Mary is always eager to bring us closer to Jesus. "Do whatever he tells you," Mary says to the attendants at Cana. She says the same to us. She tells us to follow the teaching and example of Christ, this Christ Who is the way, the truth, and the life.
Mary, as the mother of our Christ-life, is ever eager for us to grow in Christ. As we grow in our consecration to her Immaculate Heart—in entrustment of our total being to her—she helps us grow in our consecration to the Heart of Jesus. Through her maternal activity she aids us in growing in our discipleship, this woman who was Jesus' first and perfect disciple.

"you are one with Jesus as the body is one with the head. You must, then, have one breath with him, one soul, one will, one mind, one heart. And he must be your breath, heart, love, life, your all. These great gifts in the follower of Christ originate from Baptism. They are increased and strengthened through Confirmation and by making good use of other graces that are given by God. Through the Holy Eucharist they are brought to perfection."

Mary: "My beloved priest-son, how often I have pressed you to
my maternal and Immaculate Heart in the greatest love! How often I allow you
to taste the sweetness of this Heart. How often I make you aware that my
Heart is your refuge where you feel so much loved, where you feel so secure,
where you feel bathed in peace! I desire that you tell all the people about
the riches contained in my Immaculate Heart. Tell my people to come to my
Heart each day. I will caress them with my maternal love. I will lead them
ever closer to the Sacred Heart of my Son. I will tell them to listen to
Jesus. I will remind them that He is their Lord and Master. I will remind
them to do whatever He tells them to do. "Yes, my dearly beloved son, tell my people all these things. Keep
reminding them of my great love for them. Keep reminding them how I love to
draw them to my maternal and Immaculate Heart!" Reflection: Is there anyone who, listening to these words of
Mary, does not long for a closer union with the loving Heart of our Mother? Prayer: The Riches of the Immaculate Heart

Mary: "My beloved priest-son, how often I have embraced you!
How often I have told you how much I love you! How often, at your request, I
have held you in my arms as my child. You have told me you realize how
helpless you are of yourself, but how strong and secure you feel dwelling in
my heart and Jesus' Heart. Your sense of your littleness and helplessness
endears you to me all the more. I take you ever more securely to my maternal
and Immaculate Heart. Tell all my people of the riches you have found within
my heart. Tell them how I place you within my Son's Heart. Tell them that,
because of my motherly action, you are now more closely united with Jesus
than ever before. Tell my people to come to my heart and draw forth similar
riches. Tell all my little ones that Jesus, Who is Lord and Master, bids me
to lead all to His Sacred Heart. The more my little ones dwell within my
Immaculate Heart, the more I place them within Jesus' Heart. Oh, how I love
all my little ones! How I love to bring them to the Heart of Jesus!" Reflection: Again, let us remind ourselves that we live in the
Age of the Two Hearts. The Hearts of Jesus and Mary are inseparable. The
more we dwell in Mary's heart, the more she places us within Jesus' Heart.
Within these Two Hearts, the Holy Spirit fashions us more and more in the
likeness of Christ, and the more we become like Christ, the more closely
He unites us to the Father. Prayer: Children of Mary
(8) Excerpt from Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J. Jesus: "My beloved priest-companion, tell My people that the
ugly face of sin covers the earth as never before in the history of the
human race. My image, which should shine forth brilliantly over the whole
earth, is seriously marred by the hideousness of sin. My Father's justice
demands reparation. Tell My people to offer their actions in reparation for
all the sins whereby the Triune God is so much offended. My Heart cries out
for reparation, especially for sins committed against My Eucharistic
presence. My Heart hates sin, but loves the sinner. All who are sorry for
their sins will find in My Heart overflowing graces of mercy. "My people should receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation often,
even if they have no serious sins to confess. The graces of this Sacrament
give powerful graces for the fight against temptation. I am Lord and Master.
Please do as I request!" Reflection: In our determination to avoid sin, let us often recall
the terrible sufferings which sin caused Our Loving Savior: the cruel crowning
with thorns, the tearing of His sacred flesh by the soldiers' merciless
scourging, the heartless hammering of nails through His sacred hands and
feet, and all the rest. Who can prayerfully look upon the suffering Christ
and not be repulsed by the hideousness of sin? Prayer:

(9) Excerpt from Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J. Jesus: "My beloved friend, tell My people that I desire all
to consecrate themselves to My Sacred Heart and to Mary's Immaculate Heart.
Tell them not to just recite words in making the act of consecration, but to
realize what they are saying. Consecration to Our Hearts means a total gift
of self. It means handing over everything to Me and to My Mother.
Consecration means a willingness to surrender completely to Me. In Baptism
one is consecrated to Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. But how many fail to
live out their consecration! I extend to all the invitation to renew this
baptismal consecration through consecration to My Heart and to My Mother's
Heart. "My beloved companion, I have taught you what this consecration
means. I have given you great peace, joy, and happiness because you have
made this consecration. I have taught you that you are to renew this act of
consecration each day, I constantly remind you that you are to pray each day
for the grace to more and more live the consecration. I have taught you that
your consecration to Me and My Mother means that you constantly surrender
yourself to Us and to Our care. I have taught you that the more you
surrender yourself to Me, the more I live in you and through you and for
you. I have taught you that My great love for you longs to draw you more
deeply into My Heart. I have shown you that I wish your Mother Mary to place
you there within My Heart, and that the more you dwell within her heart, the
more deeply she places you within My Heart. Dwelling within Our Hearts, the
Holy Spirit fashions you more and more in My likeness. The Father thus looks
upon you with greater favor and takes you more closely to Himself. Tell My
people all these wondrous truths. I am Lord and Master, and I desire all to
listen to My words!" Reflection: In the above message, Jesus describes what is involved
in living our consecration to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. What beautiful
truths He puts before us! We know that the living out of our consecration
is not always easy. Sometimes it is very difficult. At all times, and especially
in most difficult times, we should remind ourselves how much Jesus and
Mary love us, and that living out our consecration is our "thank you,"
our return of love. Prayer:

(10) Excerpt from Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J. Mary: "My beloved priest-son, I have led you to greatly
increase your prayers and sacrifices for others. I have often reminded you
of my teaching at Fatima—that many souls go to Hell because they have
no one to pray and make sacrifices for them. My Immaculate Heart longs that
all my little ones be saved. Tell my little ones that they must love their
neighbor through prayer, sacrifices, and other ways, too. All should learn
from me. My Heart is symbol, not only of my great love for God, but also of
my tender love for all my little ones. Imitate my love for God and all my
children. If you love Jesus and me, this means you also love all of God's
children. Jesus died for all. You cannot exclude anyone from your love. "My Heart is the perfect imitator of the Heart of my Son. I will
teach you how to love the Father and all mankind after the example of Jesus.
All my little ones, I long for you to come to my Heart so I can teach you
the ways of love! I love you so much! Come to my Immaculate Heart. Pressed
against my Heart, I will hold you in my arms. I will clothe you with my
motherly and protective mantle. As I hold you close to my Heart, I will
teach you the ways of love!" Reflection: In the above message, our dear mother tenderly reminds

Jesus: "My beloved priest companion, I and My Mother have given you a consuming desire to spread devotion to Our Hearts. Tell My people about the great riches contained in My Sacred Heart and Mary's Immaculate Heart! Tell My people that they live in the age of the Two Hearts. What I and My Mother said at Fatima has been gradually unfolding. The Fatima message is centered in devotion to Our Hearts. The triumph of Mary's Immaculate Heart, foretold at Fatima, is soon to take place. This triumph will coincide with the era of peace for the world which My Mother foretold at Fatima. This great new age of peace for the Church and the world will be characterized by the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart.
"Because this is the age of the Two Hearts, the quickest and surest way to sanctity is through devotion to My Heart and Mary's Heart. Such devotion reaches its highest point in consecration to Our Hearts. Within Our Hearts My people will be clothed with great graces! Their love for God and neighbor will deepen tremendously! They will be fired with a holy and burning desire to love God and neighbor in all their daily activities as guided by the Holy Spirit. Dwelling within Our Hearts, My people will long to help bring back an alienated world to conform to My Father's will.
"My friend, I and My Mother have allowed you to experience in an extraordinary way the riches contained in Our Hearts. Tell My people about these riches! Tell them that I and Mary long for them to come within Our Hearts! I am Lord and Master. Please listen to My words. Come to Our Hearts!"
Reflection: Jesus tells us that we live in the age of the Two Hearts, and that within His Heart and Mary's Heart we receive graces to raise us to great sanctity. What is sanctity? It is doing God's will out of love, and God's will is summed up in love of God and love of neighbor. In the above message Jesus refers to this love of God and neighbor. In the Gospel, Jesus expressed it in this way:
But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees they got together and, to disconcert him, one of them put a question, "Master, which is the greatest commandment of the Law?" Jesus said, "You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second resembles it: You must love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang the whole Law, and the Prophets also" (Matthew 22:34-40).
Sanctity, then, is centered in love of God and neighbor. Thus, to grow in sanctity is to grow in love of God and neighbor. Jesus tells us in the above message that within His Heart and Mary's Heart we find the graces to achieve great sanctity. Dwelling within the Two Hearts, we receive the capacity to become tremendous lovers!
Prayer:
Jesus and Mary, draw us within Your Hearts ever more deeply. There, teach us the ways of sanctity, the ways of love. Allow the burning flames of Your Hearts to touch Our Hearts. Allow these flames to increasingly burn away the selfishness which prevents us from loving God and neighbor as we should. Mary, as we dwell in your Heart, place us ever more securely within the Heart of Jesus. Jesus, as we dwell within Your Heart, lead us ever more closely to the Father in the Holy Spirit.
(2) Excerpt from Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J. Mary: "My beloved priest-son, how I love to enfold you in my
arms as my little child! Enfolded in my arms in my maternal embrace, I press
you against my Immaculate Heart. I draw you within my Heart. There, through
my maternal intercession, I clothe you with Jesus' graces. As you dwell in
my Heart, I place you ever more deeply within Jesus' Heart and there the
Holy Spirit fashions you increasingly in the image of my Son. As you grow in
the likeness of Jesus, He takes you ever closer to the Father. "Thus, as you grow in the sense of your helplessness without God,
the stronger you become in Jesus. Childlike thus becomes strength. The
smaller you become in living out spiritual childhood, the taller you stand
beside Jesus. Weakness becomes strength, your sense of helplessness becomes
spiritual maturity! "Tell all my children about the wonders of spiritual childhood! Tell
them to come to me and I will school them in its ways. How I love all my
children! Oh, how I love to exercise my motherhood toward them all!" Reflection: In the Gospel, Jesus speaks emphatically to us about
spiritual childhood: "At this time the disciples came to Jesus
and said, 'Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?' So he called
a little child to him and set the child in front of them. Then he said,
'I tell you solemnly, unless you change and become like little children
you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. And so, the one who makes himself
as little as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven'"
(Matthew 18:1-4). Prayer:

(3) Excerpt from Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J. Jesus: "My beloved priest-companion, keep telling My people
of the great necessity of humility in the spiritual life. My saints, oh, how
they realized the importance of this virtue! "The world is filled with pride. Pride is the refusal to serve God.
It is the refusal to do My Father's will. There is so much sin in today's
world because there is so much pride. "Tell My people to come to My Heart each day. There I will teach
them the lesson of humility. There I will show them the riches which flow
from humility! There I will teach them that the more they grow in humility,
the more peace and joy and happiness they experience. Yes, let My people
come to My Heart and learn these lessons. I am Lord and Master, and I desire
that all respond to My request. I love My people with a tremendous love, and
in this love I give them this message!" Reflection: Humility is an important aspect of the Gospel message.
Following are three such examples: "Come to me, all you who labor and are overburdened, and I will
give you rest. Shoulder my yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and
humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Yes, my yoke is
easy and my burden light" (Matthew 11:28-30). "Anyone who chooses the world for his friend turns himself into
God's enemy. Surely you don't think scripture is wrong when it says: the
spirit which he sent to live in us wants us for himself alone? But he has
been even more generous to us, as scripture says: God opposes the proud
but he gives generously to the humble" (James 4:4-6). "What do you have that was not given to you? And if it was given,
how can you boast as though it were not?" (1 Corinthians 4:7).

Jesus: "My beloved friend, remind My people that the Church
was born from My Heart, pierced with the soldier's lance on Calvary. From My
pierced Heart the Church with her sacraments was born. Two of these
sacraments, the Eucharist and Baptism, were symbolized by the Blood and
Water which flowed forth from My pierced side. "As the Church was born from My pierced Heart, so does the Church's
life grow from the graces I continually give her from My pierced Heart—this
Heart which is now glorified. "I call all the members of My Church to
help build up My Body, the Church, by coming to My pierced Heart. United to
My Heart, and dwelling within It, I will give to each one the light and
strength to carry out My Father's will in the building up of My Church. "Mary is Mother and Model of the Church. As 'Mother of the Church,'
she intercedes for all the graces the members need to contribute to the
building up of My Church. As Model—as perfect imitator of Me—she
shows the children of the Church how all, individually and collectively, are
to be increasingly formed in My image. As all come to My Heart for the
building up of the Church, let them do so united to the Heart of Mary. "My Church is experiencing critical and very difficult times. There
are many divisions. There are many false teachings, including some put forth
by certain theologians. These false teachings occur because those
responsible are not in proper union with My vicar, the Pope, and the Church
Magisterium. I want all My children to pray daily for the cure of the many
and serious ills of the Church. With increased prayer and sacrifices for the
health of the Church, that day will soon come when the Church will be
purified and revitalized. When that day comes, the Church will be a light to
all nations as never before. When that day comes, the renewed Church will be
characterized by the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My
Sacred Heart. Thus the message of Fatima will have reached fulfillment. "I am Lord and Master. I request that all My people listen to My
words and respond to them. I love My people with a tremendous love, and in
this great love I give them this message!" Reflection: In speaking of the Church, St. Paul tells us:
"Just as a human body, though it is made up of many parts, is
a single unit because all these parts, though many, make one body, so it
is with Christ. In the one Spirit we were all baptized, Jews as well as
Greeks, slaves as well as citizens, and one Spirit was given to us all
to drink.... "Now you together are Christ's body; but each of you is a different
part of It. In the Church, God has given the first place to apostles, the
second to prophets, the third to teachers; after them, miracles, and after
them the gift of healing; helpers, good leaders, those with many languages.
Are all of them apostles, or all of them prophets, or all of them teachers?
Do they all have the gift of miracles, or all have the gift of healing?
Do all speak strange languages, and all interpret them?" (1 Corinthians
12:12-30). In His message above, Jesus reminds all of us that we have a responsibility
to help in the building up of the Church. St. Paul reminds us that we each
have our own role. He names many of these roles and there are many who
share in them. For example, there are many teachers of various kinds in
the Church. But each teaches according to his or her personal uniqueness.
Consequently, we can truly say that each one has a mission, has a role,
in the life of the Church which no one else can fulfill. To the extent
each of us gives his or her life to Christ, we continue His work upon earth
through the visible, tangible humanity each of us possess. To the extent
each of us fails to surrender to Jesus, to that extent we refuse Him the
opportunity to live through our personal uniqueness. What an awesome privilege
has been given to each of us! And what an awesome responsibility!

responsibility toward the world. They have a duty to try to make this a
better world for all to live in. "Today there is much which is wrong with the world. Sin covers the
face of the earth. Sins of all kinds blemish the goodness of My Father's
creation. "However, My Mother and I are increasingly gathering our forces for
the battle against Satan and his followers. We are more and more forming Our
followers to wage the battle to win back that part of the world dominated by
Satan's influence. We are forming our followers in the ways of love. We are
forming Our followers with the grace which flows from the bosom of My
Father, through My Heart, given in the Holy Spirit, and distributed through
the intercession of the maternal and Immaculate Heart of Mary. "We are forming Our followers to give themselves in the greatest
love for God and neighbor. We are bringing them ever more closely to Our
Hearts so that they may draw from the flames of love of My Heart and Mary's
Heart! The more My followers dwell in Mary's Heart and My Heart, the more
they are enlightened and strengthened to give themselves for the salvation
of the world. "I am Lord and Master. I ask all to follow Me and My Mother to help
us bring forth the great age of love and peace for the world. This age will
emerge after the phase of purification has been completed. This age will be
characterized by the triumph of Mary's immaculate Heart and the reign of My
Sacred Heart. In this great new age, soon to come, My people will love and
praise My Father, with Mary and through Me and in the Holy Spirit, as never
before! "I love My people with a tremendous, burning love, and in this love
I give them this message!" Reflection: The world belongs to Christ. St. Paul tells us about
this: As he is the Beginning, he was first to be born from the dead, so
that he should be first in every way, because God wanted all perfection
to be found in him, and all things to be reconciled through him and for
him, everything in heaven and everything on earth, when he made peace by
his death on the cross (Colossians 1:18-20). Since the world belongs to Christ, we, who are His followers, must have
a great love for the world as created and redeemed by God. We must labor
through our participation in the Mass and through all our other prayers
and good works to more and more help the Christic image of the world to
shine forth in ever greater splendor. This is our duty and our privilege.
Out of love for God and neighbor, let's resolve to get on with the task!

Eucharistic Heart of Jesus
My dear fellow Associate Members, Jesus is
calling special apostles to join a new division of the Shepherds of Christ
Movement. Here is a message from Jesus given to Father Carter:
My beloved
priest-companion, I am requesting that a new prayer movement be started
under the direction of Shepherds of Christ Ministries. I am asking for
volunteers who are willing to pray before the Blessed Sacrament for one
hour, twice-weekly. Members of the Shepherds of Christ prayer chapters, as
well as others, are to be invited to join this movement.
These apostles are
to pray for the intentions I am giving you. For part of the hour they are to
use the prayers of the Shepherds of Christ Associates Handbook. They may
spend the rest of the hour as they so choose.
I will use this new
prayer movement within My Shepherds of Christ Ministries in a powerful way
to help in the renewal of My Church and the world. I will give great graces
to those who join this movement. The name, Apostles of the Eucharistic Heart
of Jesus, is to be given to this movement.
I am inviting My
beloved Rita Ring to be coordinator for this activity.
I pour out the
great love of My Sacred Heart to all. I am Jesus, Chief Shepherd of the

INTRODUCTION
– (Daniel 7:13-14; Rev 1:5-8; John 18:33-37) Again this week we hear from the book of Daniel, a book that was written during a time when the Jews were suffering a terrible persecution for their faith. Today’s reading describes how God would triumph in the end. God would establish a kingdom that would be everlasting. God is here described as “the Ancient One.” His kingdom would be ruled by one who is described as “like a son of man.” God would give this “son of man” dominion, glory and kingship. The term “son of man” simply means a human being, but today’s passage invests the term with new depth and mystery. You might recall, “son of man” was the favorite term Jesus used to describe himself.

celebrate Christ as our King. He’s not like any other king we
have heard about as we studied history. His kingdom does not
belong to this world. He does not force us to serve him; he only

to him – except for those human hearts who choose not to
surrender their love – and it will be to their loss unless they
do. All other kings must eventually lay aside their power and
return to their creator for their power is temporary, but Jesus’

his kingship shall not be destroyed. But as a king, we are
reminded that we owe Jesus our homage, our obedience, and our

137. FIRST PRELUDE. This is the history. Here it will be that Christ calls and wants all beneath His standard, and Lucifer, on the other hand, wants all under his.

It will be here to see a great plain, comprising the whole region about Jerusalem, where the sovereign Commander-in-Chief of all the good is Christ our Lord; and another plain about the region of Babylon, where the chief of the enemy is Lucifer.
139. THIRD PRELUDE. This is to ask for what I desire. Here it will be to ask for a knowledge of the deceits of the rebel chief and help to guard myself against them; and also to ask for a knowledge of the true life exemplified in the sovereign and true Commander, and the grace to imitate Him.
FIRST PART
THE STANDARD OF SATAN
140. FIRST POINT. Imagine you see the chief of all the enemy in the vast plain about Babylon, seated on a great throne of fire and smoke, his appearance inspiring horror and terror.
141. SECOND POINT. Consider how he summons innumerable demons, and scatters them, some to one city and some to another, throughout the whole world, so that no province, no place, no state of life, no individual is overlooked.
142. THIRD POINT. Consider the address he makes to them, how he goads them on to lay snares for men and bind them with chains. First they are to tempt them to covet riches (as Satan himself is accustomed to do in most cases) that they may the more easily attain the empty honors of this world, and then come to overweening pride.
The first step, then, will be riches, the second honor, the third pride. From these three steps the evil one leads to all other vices.

The Transfiguration
(1) Matthew 17: 1-8
Six days later, Jesus took with him Peter and James and his brother John and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There in their presence he was transfigured: his face shone like the sun and his clothes became as dazzling as light. And suddenly Moses and Elijah appeared to them; they were talking with him. Then Peter spoke to Jesus. ‘Lord,’ he said, ‘it is wonderful for us to be here; if you want me to, I will make three shelters here, one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.’ He was still speaking when suddenly a bright cloud covered them with shadow, and suddenly from the cloud there came a voice which said, ‘This is my Son, the Beloved; he enjoys my favour. Listen to him.’ When they heard this, the disciples fell on their faces, overcome with fear. But Jesus came up and touched them, saying, ‘Stand up, do not be afraid.’ And when they raised their eyes they saw no one but Jesus.

Jesus: "My beloved priest-companion, I have given you a great desire to pray to the Divine Persons many times during the day. This can be done in a way which does not interfere with your daily duties. Rather, you have learned that this prayerful contact with Father, Son, and Holy Spirit enhances your ability to work for God and neighbor. Remind My people that when one is in the state of grace, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit dwell within that person in a most special way. We are within those in the state of grace to receive their acts of faith, hope, and love.
"So many of My people are not aware of the precious treasure which dwells within them! Tell My people to pray for a growing awareness of this marvelous truth! Through the graces which flow from the great love of My pierced Heart, My people are called to develop the greatest intimacy with the Divine Persons. Please, do not waste these graces! I am Lord and Master, and in My great love, I ask that all comply with My request!"
Reflection: In the Gospel of John, Jesus tells us:
"If anyone loves me he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we shall come to him and make our home with him" (John 14:23).
Jesus does not explicitly mention the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in this particular passage. However, we know that, where the Father and Son reside, so also does the Spirit.
In the above message from Jesus, He speaks to us about this truth of the Indwelling of the Blessed Trinity in the souls of the just. What a tremendous gift! How much do we appreciate this gift? Do we take the means to develop our relationship with the Divine Persons Who dwell within? Many would go all out for the opportunity to receive one of the world's dignitaries into their homes. When we are in the state of grace, the Divine Persons grace us with Their presence. What a tremendous dignity is bestowed upon us! Sadly, many seem to be more enthused about being in the presence of this world's dignitaries than they are regarding the presence of the Triune God!
Prayer:
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we adore You profoundly. Give us the grace to deepen our appreciation of Your Triune presence within us. Give us the grace to grow in loving union with You.
(3) Excerpt from Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J. Jesus: "My beloved friend, tell My people how much I long to
draw all of them to My Mother's Heart and to My Heart! I do this to the
extent they allow Me to do so. The more My people come to Our Hearts, the
more I empower them to love God and neighbor. "I desire that all within the human family be united through deep
bonds of love. Many refuse to enter into this union of love with their
neighbor. That is why there is so much hatred and division in today's world
between nations, within nations, within families, between individuals. "There are, however, many of My people who, because of their growing
union with Me, are increasing their capacity to love each other. There is
being developed a strong core who are helping to spread love around the
world. As these people dwell in Mary's Heart and My Heart, they are helping
to bring about the great new era of the renewed Church and world. When the
purification of Church and world is completed, this great era of peace and
love, predicted by My Mother at Fatima, will be characterized by the triumph
of her Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart, and love will
pervade the earth as never before. "I am Lord and Master. Listen to these words I am giving to you.
Live these words! As you dwell in Mary's Heart and My Heart, love one
another with the deepest love! I love My people with a tremendous love, and
in this love I give them this message." Reflection: In Christ, God calls us to the most profound union
with the Persons of the Trinity and with each other. In The First Letter
of John we see the enormity of this calling: "We can be sure that we know God only by keeping his commandments.
Anyone who says, 'I know him,' and does not keep his commandments, is a
liar, refusing to admit the truth. But when anyone does obey what he has
said, God's love comes to perfection in him. We can be sure that we are
in God only when the one who claims to be living in him is living the same
kind of life as Christ lived.... "Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates his brother
is still in the dark. But anyone who loves his brother is living in the
light and need not be afraid of stumbling; unlike the man who hates his
brother and is in the darkness, not knowing where he is going, because
it is too dark to see" (1 John 2:3-11). Prayer:
The Power to Love
Jesus: "My beloved friend, remind My people of the
seriousness of life. Two paths stretch before them. One way is My way, the
way which leads to eternal happiness in Heaven. The other way is the way of
Satan, the path which leads to everlasting punishment in Hell. "I have laid down My life for each of My people so that they could
possess eternal life. I paid a great price to do this! But I did so gladly
because of My great love for My Father and all My people. As I was suffering
the excrutiating pain of My brutal passion and death, My Sacred Heart beat
with overwhelming love for each of you! I knew each of you by name. How I
long for each of you to love Me in return, and to follow Me on the path to
eternal life! Do not waste the graces which cost Me such a great price.
Resolve each day to grow in knowledge and love of Me. Resolve each day to
make use of the precious opportunities to love God and neighbor. Resolve
each day to become saints! Oh! how much the Church and the world need saints
in these the most critical of times! "Be in communion with those in Heaven and Purgatory. They have
successfully completed their earthly journey. They followed My way, and now
eternal life in Heaven is theirs, or will be. Pray that those in Purgatory
may soon join the blessed in Heaven. Pray to the blessed in Heaven and the
souls in Purgatory that they in turn, may help you in all your needs. "I am Lord and Master. Listen to My words! United to My Mother's
Heart, come to My Heart each day for the light and strength to follow the
path of life I hold before you—the path which leads to eternal bliss. "I love My people with an overwhelming love, and in this great love,
I give them this message!" Reflection: Here are some Scripture passages which speak to our
subject at hand! "... you will reveal the path of life to me, give me unbounded
joy in your presence, and at your right hand everlasting pleasures"
(Psalms 16:11). "Yahweh, make your ways known to me, teach me your paths. Set
me in the way of your truth, and teach me, for you are the God who saves
me" (Psalms 25:4-5). "Let the wicked man abandon his way, the evil man his thoughts.
Let Him turn back to Yahweh who will take pity on him, to our God who is
rich in forgiving" (Isaiah 55:7). "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the
Father except through me" (John 14:6).

The Two Ways
(5) Excerpt from Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J. Jesus: "My beloved priest-companion, tell My people to take
special means in these present times to guard against the snares of Satan
and his followers. He is more active now than at any stage of human history. "He is leading many of My people away from the path of the Gospel.
Never before has sin blemished the face of the earth as it does today. Satan
and his forces are leading many along the path to perdition. Many souls are
being lost each day. Satan is helping to create divisions everywhere within
My Church, among nations, within nations, within families, within
individuals themselves. He does this by leading many to refuse to love God
and neighbor. In place of love, he is sowing the seeds of hatred.
Divisiveness is caused by a lack of love. The less love, the more
divisiveness, the greater lack of unity. "As a remedy against the snares of Satan, I call all to the refuge
of My Heart and My Mother's Heart. The more you dwell in Our Hearts, the
less influence Satan has over you. In Our Hearts, you are more and more
clothed with the power to love God and neighbor. The more you love, the
safer you are from the snares of Satan. The more you love, the more you help
bring about the great era of a renewed Church and a renewed world. This era
will be characterized by the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign
of My Sacred Heart. In this new era of splendor, love will reign in the
hearts of My people as never before! "I am Lord and Master! Please listen to My words and carry out My
requests. I love My people with a tremendous love and in this love I give
them this message!" Reflection: In The First Letter of Peter we read:
"Be
calm but vigilant, because your enemy the devil is prowling round like
a roaring lion, looking for someone to eat. Stand up to him, strong in
faith and in the knowledge that your brothers all over the world are suffering
the same things" (1 Peter 5:8-9). In the above message, Jesus tells us that the efforts of Satan and his
followers are greater now than ever before. If this is the time of great
satanic influences, it is also the time of great grace. As we head for
the great new era of peace for the Church and the world, foretold by Our
Lady of Fatima, the merciful love of God is being showered upon us in great
abundance. In His great love for us, the Father is offering to us the Hearts
of Jesus and Mary as the safest refuge against the snares of Satan. Their
Hearts, bulwark against the attacks of Satan, are the source of the great
graces God is offering in these critical times. Within the Hearts of Jesus
and Mary, the Holy Spirit deepens the image of Christ within us, strengthening
us increasingly for the great battle being waged between the forces of
Satan and the followers of Jesus.
Prayer: St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the day of
battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the
devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, 0 prince of
the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan, and
all the other evil spirits, who prowl though the world, seeking the
ruin of souls. Amen.
Your Protection Against Satan
(6) Excerpt from Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J. Jesus: "My beloved friend, I have been teaching you how
necessary it is to depend upon Me completely. I teach you to keep your focus
on Me, to do everything in union with Me, with complete dependence on Me. I
give you the light to see how strong you are when you surrender to Me and
depend completely on Me. I allow you to share in a special way in My power.
I greatly enhance your ability to do so many things in My service. "I draw you into My Heart, and as you depend on Me completely, I
allow you to draw forth from the riches of My Heart. You become clothed more
and more in My likeness. With an ever greater love you give yourself to the
service of God and neighbor. I also allow you to realize that your growing
dependence on Me is proportionate to your growing dependence on Mary your
Mother. The more you live out your consecration to her Heart in giving
yourself to her, the more she leads you to live out your consecration to My
Heart. This consecration includes and demands an ever greater surrender and
dependence upon Me. "Tell My people of the joy and peace and security which results from
this growing dependence on Me. Tell them I wish them to come each day to My
Heart and surrender themselves to Me. Tell them to trust Me, and to depend
on Me for all their needs. In My great, burning love for them I will care
for them to the extent they trust Me and depend on Me! Oh! how I long to
care for all My people! Many refuse My help. To those who accept Me, I give
them peace and joy and happiness to the degree they surrender to Me and
depend on Me. "I am Lord and Master. I desire that My people listen to My words
and live them! I love My people with a tremendous love, and in this love I
give them this message!" Reflection: The above message of Jesus ties in beautifully with
what He tells us in the Gospel of John: I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me, with
me in him, bears fruit in plenty; for cut off from me you can do nothing
(John 15:5). How beautifully Jesus points out our utter dependence on Him! This is
not always an easy lesson to live. We have a deep-rooted tendency to try
to be our own masters. We have a tendency to want to feel in control so
that we might feel secure. Jesus tells us that the only real control and
security we have is to allow Him to control our lives! The more we live
this truth, the more secure we feel, for we are thus living more within
the loving Heart of Jesus!

Depend on Me
(7) Excerpt from Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J. Jesus: "My beloved priest-companion, how often I tell you how
much I love you! And what great joy and peace I give you when I tell you
this! How often I press you closely to My Heart! Daily I draw you ever more
deeply within My Heart! There I allow you to experience the overwhelming
riches of My Heart. I have shown you, as you dwell within My Heart, the
secret of finding amazing peace, joy, and happiness. I have shown you that
to dwell within My Heart is to experience a foretaste of Heaven! "I allow you to dwell so deeply within My Heart because I have given
you the gift of dwelling within My Mother's Heart. The more one dwells
within Mary's Immaculate Heart, the more she places that person within My
Sacred Heart. "My beloved friend, keep telling My people about all the wondrous
riches contained in Our Hearts! Keep reminding them that they live in the
age of the Two Hearts. Keep telling them that the quickest and most secure
path to the highest sanctity is to dwell within Mary's Heart and My Heart! "I am Lord and Master. I plead with My people to listen to My words
and to live them! I love My people with a tremendous love, and in this love
I give them this message." Reflection: Jesus again begs us to come and experience the riches
contained in His Heart and Mary's Heart. How foolish we are if we fail
to accept His invitation! How many pursue the false riches of this world,
and refuse the true riches which Jesus offers. We must determine each day,
with God's help, not to be included among those who reject the riches which
Jesus offers in order to pursue the false promises of happiness which the
world holds before us. The world can't give us happiness. Jesus can. Prayer:
How Much I Love You!
(8) Excerpt from Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J.
Jesus: "My beloved companion, tell My people to concentrate
on living in the present moment. Tell them to depend on Me from
moment to moment. My people should want to fill each moment with as great a
love of God and neighbor as possible! So many of My people fail to
concentrate properly on the present. "Come to My Heart each day, My people, and I will give you the light
and strength to more and more realize the greatness of the present moment.
The more you dwell in My Heart, the more content you will be to live in the
present. I am Lord and Master. I want to fill you with ever greater peace
and joy! But to experience this, you must listen to My words and live
them!" Reflection: We can't relive the past, although we are
meant to profit from it in various ways. We must make plans for our future
on this earth, but how much of it can we be sure will be ours? Literally,
one's life could end in the coming moment. The saints knew the secret of
living in the present moment. That's why they became saints. Let's always
remember the words of Jesus: "So do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow
will take care of itself" (Matthew 6:34). Prayer:
(9) Excerpt from Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J. Jesus: "There is so much disunity, hatred, and lack of love
which covers the face of the earth today. My Father's will is being
seriously violated in all sorts of ways. There are so many murders—including
all the ones killed by abortion—thefts, all kinds of violence, all
kinds of impure actions, lies, blasphemies, and much more. "My Father's will is so much violated because there is so little
love. The more one loves God and neighbor, the more My Father's will is
being accomplished. Love and conformity to God's will are inseparable. "Tell My people, My beloved friend, to come to My Heart each day.
The more they come to My Heart, the more I will inflame their hearts with a
burning love to do My Father's will. The more they come to My Heart, the
more I will teach them concerning My Father's will. The more they come to My
Heart, the more I will allow them to realize that happiness consists in
doing My Father's will out of love in all things. The more one does My
Father's will out of love in union with Me and My Mother, the more I lead
them to the bosom of the Father in the Holy Spirit. Safe in My Father's
arms, they experience great happiness, peace, and joy. "I am Lord and Master. In My great love for My people, I give this
message. I desire that all hear My words and live them!" Reflection: The more we do the Father's will out of love, the
more we are at peace. Peace is the tranquility of order. The more we do
God's will--the more we conform to the order He has established--the more
we are at peace. Jesus has told us: "It is not those who
say to me, 'Lord, Lord,' who will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the person
who does the will of my Father in heaven" (Matthew 7:21). Prayer:

(10) Excerpt from Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J. "What I say to you in the dark, tell in the day-light; what you hear in whispers,
Jesus: "This is the day celebrating My Resurrection (Easter).
The day of newness of life. I am Lord and Master. I am the Way, the Truth,
and the Life. Tell My people to come to Me if they wish to experience life
in abundance. I want to give all an ever greater share in the life of My
Resurrection. Without Me you cannot be happy, nor have peace, nor have real
joy. Tell My people to surrender to Me more and more. The more they do so,
the more they will experience My love, wisdom, power, peace, joy, happiness,
mercy, and goodness. Within My Heart My people will find these riches. I am
Lord and Master! Please listen to My words." Reflection: Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus has come
to give us life, and to give us this life in abundance. When we were baptized, we were incorporated into Christ and His Church. When
we were baptized, we received the life of sanctifying grace. This life is a
created sharing in the life of the Trinity. Truly, we are called to live a God-like
existence according to the teaching and example of Jesus! It is our duty and our
privilege to develop our life of grace—our Christ-life—through our
participation in the Mass, through the reception of the sacraments, through
prayer, and through all other good works. Indeed, we are called to love God and
neighbor more and more. What a glorious life has been given to us! In a spirit of thanksgiving, and
together with Mary our Mother, let us always strive to know Christ more
intimately, to love Him more ardently, and to follow Him more closely, so that
He will always bring us to a closer union with the Father in the unity of the
Holy Spirit.

The Institution of the Eucharist at the Last Supper
(1) Excerpt from Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J.
Jesus: "My beloved priest-companion, tell My people how I long for them to come to Me in the Eucharist. The Eucharist is the great Sacrament of My love for My people. So many are indifferent to My Eucharistic presence. So many have no real desire to receive Me in the Eucharist. So many have no desire to visit Me in the Blessed Sacrament. How I long for My people to come before the tabernacle and to talk with Me!
"I am offended, many times seriously, by all the outrages, sacrileges, and indifferences committed against My Eucharistic presence. I ask My people to make reparation for all this. I especially ask that they often say the prayer of Eucharistic reparation given by the angel to the three Fatima visionaries.
"I am Lord and Master. Please do as I request. My Eucharistic Heart is beating with unfathomable love for My people! Let them come to My Sacred Heart. How I long to take My people to My Heart and shower them with Its abundant graces! I love My people with a tremendous love, and I give them this message with the greatest love!"
Reflection: Pope John Paul II has often expressed his belief in the importance of Fatima. It also appears that the Fatima prayer of Eucharistic reparation is meant in a most special way for the present times.
Prayer:
Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I adore You profoundly. I offer You the most precious Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Jesus Christ, present in all the tabernacles of the world, in reparation for the outrages, sacrileges, and indifferences whereby He is offended. Through the infinite merits of His most Sacred Heart and the intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I beg of You the conversion of poor sinners.
(2) Excerpt from Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J. Jesus: "Tell My People that I wish them to come to My Sacred
Heart. I show My Heart as symbol of My great love for My people. So many,
however, are cold and indifferent concerning My love for them. Consider all
I have done for My people! I suffered a brutal passion and death for them.
My Body was unmercifully scourged, My head cruelly crowned with thorns, My
hands and feet mercilessly pierced with nails. Oh, how much I suffered in
all this—out of love for My Father and the whole human race! Finally,
My Heart was pierced with the soldier's lance. From My pierced Heart flowed
forth blood and water, symbols of the Eucharist and Baptism. How much My
pierced Heart still loves My people! How I long for each to come to My Heart
in a return of love! All who do will experience My love in a special way.
All who take up their refuge within My Heart will experience love, security,
peace, joy. The world cannot give My people these gifts. I, Who am Lord and
Master, am the One Who gives these gifts." Reflection: Jesus tells us how much He loves us and to what lengths
He went in His passion and death to show us this great love, this love
symbolized by His Heart. To meditate often upon the passion and death of Christ is to allow His
love to more and more take hold of us. The more we allow Jesus to embrace
us with His tremendous love for us, the more He draws us within His pierced
Heart. Within this Heart is our refuge. Here is our source of enlightenment,
of strength, of peace, joy, and happiness.
Prayer:
Call of the Sacred Heart
Jesus: "My beloved priest-companion, tell My people to trust Me unreservedly. I am Lord and Master. I am their God. So many fail to trust Me as they should. I love all My people much, much more than they love themselves. This great love of Mine should encourage the greatest trust. The more you realize how much a friend loves you, the more you place your trust in the friend. I am your perfect Friend! I love you infinitely more than your best earthly friend. Tell My people to give Me their trust. Tell them to say often, 'Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in You.' I am Lord and Master. Please do as I request."
Reflection: How can we fail to trust Jesus, this Jesus Who has given His life for each of us? During His passion, He knew each of us by name. Today, He calls each of us, by name, to the refuge of His Sacred Heart. Today, He calls each of us, by name, to a greater trust in His Heart.
Prayer:
Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place my trust in You.
4) Excerpt from Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J.
Being Loved by Jesus
Jesus: "My beloved priest-companion, I have given you a special experience of what it means to be loved by Me. I have drawn you, through Mary, deeply within My Heart. There you experience a deep peace, joy, and security—all this results from your realizing how much I love you! Tell My people about My great love! Tell them I desire that they come to My Heart. There they will experience the wonders that only My Heart can give. I am Lord and Master. I desire that all listen to My words."
Reflection: We know what a glowing feeling it is to realize that we are loved by a human person--by a friend or by a spouse, for example. Jesus loves us much, much more than any such person can possibly love us! Why don't we, then, allow ourselves constantly to be immersed in the joy which results from realizing how much Jesus loves us?
Prayer:
Jesus, give me an increased realization of what it means to be loved by You! Allow me to realize that the more I experience Your love, the more I experience Your peace and joy and happiness.
(5) Excerpt from Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J. Jesus: "My beloved priest-companion, because I love you with
a very special love, I have showered you with great gifts. You have cried
out to Me in joy. You have told Me how thankful you are for My many special
favors. Allowing you to be so thankful is itself a gift I give you. Tell My
people that I want them to thank Me every day for all the gifts I have given
and continue to give them. Tell them I want them to give themselves to Mary.
In her company I want them to approach My Sacred Heart each day. Here I will
give them ever greater gifts. "How much I love My people! How much I long to shower them with My
love-laden gifts! Sadly, many do not want to receive My gifts. Those who do,
let them come to My Heart, and they will be amazed at what I will do for
them! My Heart is an inexhaustible source of graces. Please, My people, I
long for you to come and draw from its riches! I am Lord and Master. Please
do as I request." Reflection: Giving thanks to God for all His gifts is one of
our great duties as children of God. We should be continually offering
thanks to God for all the gifts He has given us and continues to give us
through the Heart of Jesus. Prayer:

I Love You
April 13, 1994
Words of Jesus. Read before the Tabernacle.
Jesus: How, child, do I, Jesus, tell you I love you? You hold on to silly things when God is in your midst and is ardently loving you. I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I am writing to each precious child this day. I am on fire for love of you. I remain in the Eucharist to be with you with My ardent love. I did not want to leave My beloved ones at the Last Supper. I love you so, My dear and ardently loved children. I remain with you this day in the Blessed Sacrament, the same Jesus Who died a brutal death on the Cross.
Do you know I am truly present there? Do you know that God waits every day for you in the tabernacle? Do you comprehend even a minute amount of My love? You will never know of how I love you on earth.
I, Jesus, truly the Son of God, came to earth a man and suffered a brutal death for love of you. I love you so much! I remain with you this day. I long for your love. I want you to come and be with Me in front of the tabernacle. I wait, I yearn for you to come and whisper your love to Me. I am a person and I love you this day, with such an ardent on-fire love! No human could ever compare a speck to My love for you.
I wait, little ones, in the tabernacle. I wait for you to come and receive Me in Communion. I want you to want Me so much you cannot wait to come and receive Me. I want to be the love, the center of your life!
I am Jesus. I am the Son of God. I am writing to you this day. I want to possess your very soul and live in you. I have all you need, sweet ones. Oh, you are so blind! I long for your union with Me. I wrote the book of love. I instituted it, yet you go to the world for your love and do not even come to Me! Oh, I love you, little ones. Little ones, beloved of the Father, loved by the Holy Spirit, mothered by My very own mother! What more can I say? The rest is up to you!
I give you your will with such love and I want your love freely given. I am God. What do you think you could ever need that I do not give you? I am the Savior of this world. I am Jesus, the Son of God. I am waiting for you. I am longing for you. I am yearning for you. I am God. I have all you ever will need!
Surrender this life to Me. Pray My Prayer for Union with Me. I want to possess your soul and operate from your very being. I am Jesus. I am the Son of God. I am the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I am Who am. I died and rose on the third day.
Harken to My call, harken to My pleading. Spend your days in love with Me. Nothing matters unless it is rooted in Me and rooted in My love. I am the Son of God. I am the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I love you with the tenderest love. I am waiting this day for just you, My beloved one. Come to Me for I am the tenderest of all hearts. I am the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
