Prayer for Grace for our Country
Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our new president as he takes office. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.

R. God is infinite – how helpless indeed we are
to be able to express things about heaven
about eternity.
Look at all the people of the earth
created by God – generation upon generation.
How can we even understand eternity?
How can man being baptized rebel
against the great fortune offered to him
by the Divine Almighty God in love?
Our souls are immortal – that means
our future will never end.
Is not our life like a mountain we
must lift up more and more and know if we
grow as God wants we will reach the
eternal hills of the courts of heaven.
God tells us our life here-after is
eternal. We have an eternal soul. We can
have an eternity with God – we can
have an eternity without God – we have
a free will.
Mary appeared to me 23 years begging
me to deliver this message and Jesus delivering
the message of eternal love. But Mary
asked for help in this mission because
she says souls are going into hell like rain.
Every person that lived had this free will.
Our life moves on in petty - pace.
Ecclesiastes 12: 5
when going uphill is an ordeal
and you are frightened
at every step you take –
yet the almond tree is in flower
and the grasshopper is weighed down
and the caper-bush loses its tang;
while you are on the way
to your everlasting home
and the mourners are assembling
in the street;
R.
We are responsible and accountable
for our actions and the consequences
how we have treated our brothers –
We are commanded to love God with our
whole heart, our whole soul, our
whole being and love our neighbor
as ourselves.
God intends us to be obedient, to discipline
our actions, to die to our imperfections, but
the person who refuses, sacrifice, temperance,
prudence, justice can try to convince
themselves when they do wrong – they are still
right –
Like Bishop Sheen says – Do they call it sin any more.
Some want pleasure and not to move from
their comfort zone, they want to do
exactly as they please and this can be
wear a mask, lie, punish others, and
seek pleasure in dominance for dominance sake.
Some never want to think of the reality of hell,
of their hearts being hard hearts.
If we know God, we know He is
all just – if man sins mortally and
hurts others and refuses to repent there
must be hell – if we know God's justice.
Mary showed 3 little children hell
at Fatima July 13, 1917.
God created us in Him image and likeness –
God wants us to die to our imperfections
and grow in holiness. Jesus is truth –
God is absolute truth – to know God – to be
likened to God we must seek to live in the
truth.
The devil is the father of lies. He hates
God, hates men and wants men to go
to hell with him. He prowls through
the world looking for a soul to devour.
Prayer for Union with Jesus
Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.
I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.
I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.
When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.
-God's Blue Book, January 17, 1994
A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul
Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.
R.
If we speak of God possessing our soul
and man having a free will –
We can see man can choose to not be
possessed by God and seek the opposite
of God's will.
The opposite of the glory and beauty
and love of heaven – is complete misery,
darkness, isolation, hatred – HELL
absence of God!!
God pours out His love to us.
R.
Yes God pours out His love to us, but
I can put myself in a place where I
am far from what God wants for me –
because of the free choice I have –
to obey God or rebel against Him
and parade before Him in impudence
as if He does not see my rejection and
rebellion. How foolish, indeed!!
God is love and He outpours His love to us.
God does not change, He is love –
I can reject His love and sit as a victim
on a pity-pot of remorse, darkness,
hatred, isolation and despair –
We are here to prepare for an eternal
life of loving God and others. God is all Good!
God is light – in Him is no darkness –
We are to praise and honor God and
show gratitude for His love, His
gifts!
We will be judged on how we loved and how
we obeyed God. Heaven is a reward to those
who love and serve the Lord.
Loving God is living in order. God
is over – we are under – we are to
know our place – This is the proper order.
It is wrong for a priest and religious
to act scandalously before others –
God intends religious to take vows –
one is obedience to superiors.
We know holiness from the life of Jesus.
Jesus came to teach us about God the Father
and His love for us. How offensive to act
like we don't need any instruction or
teaching about God (pride, slothfulness).
When we disobey God mortally and
refuse to make amends we are choosing
the punishment that is due for this
disobedience and rejection to God.
God is forgiving and giving mercy to
the penitent sinner who is really
sorry for their sins, but He is just to
the prideful sinner who refuse to ask
for forgiveness for their sins against
God and others. God is love and we
are commanded to love.
God has mercy and offers forgiveness
to the penitent sinner, sincerely
sorry for sin and wishing to repent.
Meditate on the Prodigal son
parable.
Pray for God's mercy and love and ask
for the grace you need most to grow in
holiness.
Look into the suffering face of Jesus,
full of blood, suffering for
our sins –
can we not turn in love to our
beloved Savior, Jesus.
Song: A Song from Jesus
R. God gives us the priest –
Jesus is the Good Shepherd –
He loves the sinner and wants them to
come back and ask for forgiveness
and mercy.
Isaiah 1:18
'Come, let us talk this over,' says Yahweh.
'Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.
R. Christ died so we could be saved –
R.
When we do not give and do not love
and disobey God we make our
own misery – when God is so
good to us –
We seek forgiveness from God for our sins
and we forgive others.
We do not lie about our offenses against
God and others –
We want our souls pure –
free from debris in our hearts –
to be open to be filled by God!
Dear God –
Act of Contrition
"O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins, because I dread the loss of Heaven and the pains of Hell, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, Who art all-good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace to confess my sins, to do penance and to amend my life. Amen."
R.
God thank You for Your mercy and
forgiveness of my sins. Let
me God know Your love for me.
We are to be ready to be judged at any time.
We don't know when God will take us.
Our life should be lived that all our
actions have as their goal
eternal salvation.
We are to be prepared for Christ!
Do we know we will be judged
and God will judge justly?
God knows all we did and He
knows our attitude of gratitude
or attitude of anger and
uncooperation –
How are the records of the
days of our lives? How we
loved and did the work God
called us to in love –
For religious did they live the vows of
poverty, chastity and obedience?
How are habitual attitudes we
lived by good and bad?
How about self-less-ness –
self renunciation Fr. Carter talks about?
Did you give as you were called to
give generously – in love?
Or do we justify our un-Christ-like
attitude?
For religious especially – did I live
in disorder, and witness
to this to people under me
and throw away grace I
could have been able to
help bring down for the priests,
the Church and the world –
My Shepherds of Christ family –
We will die and we are to prepare
for eternal life – has our life
been lived to prepare for life in heaven?
Was I faithful to my position as a
religious before men?
How often on an on-going
basis
–
day after day –
before Mass, before prayer
in the community –
events of prayer
Did I respect the 3rd Commandment
to keep holy the Sabbath Day?
Was I loyal as a religious to
Christ, my Spouse, daily?
before the community?
Did I show virtue before those under
me as I led them more and
more to obedience and holiness?
How many excuses for unfaithfulness
will God listen to at our
judgment – making right - wrong
and wrong - right?
God is truth.
Jesus stood judgment in the
court before the high
priest and Pilate –
Jesus is our bridegroom why would
anyone ignore the judgment
Jesus suffered for our sins,
Condemned to death for our sins –
Judgment means we better recognize
we can't ignore our responsibility
before God –
We write our life and the
record every day before Christ!
We determine our eternal daily record
for judgment OURSELVES!!
We pray to God to help us admit
our sins while waiting
for our judgment Day.
We need God's grace –
We need to be obedient, obey
the Law of Love –
live by the Word –
tell the truth –
We will have a Judgment Day –
We know not when and
God will judge us justly –
We are here to prepare for our
eternal salvation –
God has a plan for us to follow
in the footsteps of Jesus –
we can't do what we
want if we want to
follow Jesus –
Jesus is the Eternal Word – We
are learners and we die to
our imperfections to be
more in the image of Jesus.
God is love –
God shows us beauty and light
and truth –
We belong to God's family –
We are to obey Our Father
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
R.
God the Father sent His only begotten Son,
the Second Person of the
Blessed Trinity.
So we would follow Him!
Let us meditate on how Jesus
followed the Plan of the
heavenly Father.
Excerpt of The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius, by Louis J. Puhl, S.J. pp.60-61
136. THE FOURTH DAY
A MEDITATION ON TWO STANDARDS
The one of Christ, our supreme leader and lord,
the other of Lucifer, the deadly enemy of our
human naturePRAYER. The usual preparatory prayer.
window at a former Jesuit Seminary
137. FIRST PRELUDE. This is the history. Here it will be that Christ calls and wants all beneath His standard, and Lucifer, on the other hand, wants all under his.
138. SECOND PRELUDE. This is a mental representation of the place. It will be here to see a great plain, comprising the whole region about Jerusalem, where the sovereign Commander-in-Chief of all the good is Christ our Lord; and another plain about the region of Babylon, where the chief of the enemy is Lucifer.
139. THIRD PRELUDE. This is to ask for what I desire. Here it will be to ask for a knowledge of the deceits of the rebel chief and help to guard myself against them; and also to ask for a knowledge of the true life exemplified in the sovereign and true Commander, and the grace to imitate Him.
FIRST PART
THE STANDARD OF SATAN
140. FIRST POINT. Imagine you see the chief of all the enemy in the vast plain about Babylon, seated on a great throne of fire and smoke, his appearance inspiring horror and terror.
141. SECOND POINT. Consider how he summons innumerable demons, and scatters them, some to one city and some to another, throughout the whole world, so that no province, no place, no state of life, no individual is overlooked.
142. THIRD POINT. Consider the address he makes to them, how he goads them on to lay snares for men and bind them with chains. First they are to tempt them to covet riches (as Satan himself is accustomed to do in most cases) that they may the more easily attain the empty honors of this world, and then come to overweening pride.
The first step, then, will be riches, the second honor, the third pride. From these three steps the evil one leads to all other vices.
SECOND PART
THE STANDARD OF CHRIST
143. In a similar way, we are to picture to ourselves the sovereign and true Commander, Christ our Lord.
144. FIRST POINT. Consider Christ our Lord, standing in a lowly place in a great plain about the region of Jerusalem, His appearance beautiful and attractive.
145. SECOND POINT. Consider how the Lord of all the world chooses so many persons, apostles, disciples, etc., and sends them throughout the whole world to spread His sacred doctrine among all men, no matter what their state or condition.
146. THIRD POINT. . . .

God gives us a sharing in His
life in baptism. This sharing
in His life is grace. His life
in us. We share divine life!
The Father, Son and Holy
Spirit dwell in our
graced baptized soul. We pray
for greater grace, to be filled
more and more abundantly with
His life in us.
God calls us to live as
God's children, we are to be
guided by the Holy Spirit. God
created us as a gift – given to
the world to help to promote
the Kingdom of God. The
Holy Spirit helps us to
do good and helps us to not
give into evil. We are to grow
in the image and likeness of God.
Jesus came and died for our
sins. We are to be truthful and
ask God to forgive us for our
sins, while we tell God we
are sorry and do not intend to
sin again like that (with a
firm purpose of amendment).
We must ask God to help us
repair the breach brought
about by our sins.
When we sin we reject God and
turn our back on His love for us.
God wants to forgive our sins
when we come with a contrite
heart and ask for forgiveness.
We want to be honest in admitting
our sins that make us go
further and further from God when
we refuse to ask for forgiveness.
At the Last Supper Jesus
showed us His love in giving
to us the Holy Eucharist.
Jesus is truly present in His
Divinity and humanity and come
to us so we can receive Him
on a most intimate level.
Jesus shows us His love for us.
We live the life, death and
resurrection of Jesus in our
lives as we grow more and more
in God's image and likeness.
Jesus is the Bread of Life –
Jesus is the Light of the world –
Jesus is the Resurrection and the life.
John 6: 51-58
I am the living bread
which has come down from heaven.
Anyone who eats this bread
will live for ever;
and the bread that I shall give
is my flesh, for the life of the world.'Then the Jews started arguing among themselves, 'How can this man give us his flesh to eat?' Jesus replied to them:
In all truth I tell you,
if you do not eat
the flesh of the Son of man
and drink his blood,
you have no life in you.
Anyone who does eat my flesh
and drink my blood
has eternal life,
and I shall raise that person up
on the last day.
For my flesh is real food
and my blood is real drink.
Whoever eats my flesh
and drinks my blood
lives in me
and I live in that person.
As the living Father sent me
and I draw life from the Father,
so whoever eats me
will also draw life from me.
This is the bread
which has come down from heaven;
it is not like the bread our ancestors ate:
they are dead,
but anyone who eats this bread
will live for ever.
1 Corinthians 10: 15-17
I am talking to you as sensible people; weigh up for yourselves what I have to say. The blessing–cup, which we bless, is it not a sharing in the blood of Christ; and the loaf of bread which we break, is it not a sharing in the body of Christ? And as there is one loaf, so we, although there are many of us, are one single body, for we all share in the one loaf.
Matthew 7: 12
'So always treat others as you would like them to treat you; that is the Law and the Prophets.
Matthew 7: 21
‘It is not anyone who says to me, "Lord, Lord," who will enter the kingdom of Heaven, but the person who does the will of my Father in heaven.
Matthew 7: 24-27
Therefore, everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a sensible man who built his house on rock. Rain came down, floods rose, gales blew and hurled themselves against that house, and it did not fall: it was founded on rock. But everyone who listens to these words of mine and does not act on them will be like a stupid man who built his house on sand. Rain came down, floods rose, gales blew and struck that house, and it fell; and what a fall it had!’
Luke 22: 19-20
Then he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ He did the same with the cup after supper, and said, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood poured out for you.

admit them.

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $15 |
Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $15 |
Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $15 |
Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $15 |

Priestly Newsletter — 2000 #1 — CD. — Christ is Our Strength — Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. It is so beautiful. "This brief passage contains one of the greatest lessons of the spiritual life. As we progress along our spiritual journey, we become increasingly aware of how weak we are in our—selves, but how strong we are in Christ. To experience our weakness involves suffering. The degree and kind of suffering can vary. The suffering can include the experience of the classical dark night of the spirit as described by St. John of the Cross. One of the main purposes of the dark night is to make a person keenly aware of his or her helplessness without God." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10 |

Shepherds of Christ Prayer
Manual Shepherds of Christ Prayer Manual. The Shepherds of Christ has prayer chapters all over the world praying for the priests, the Church and the world. These prayers that Father Carter compiled in the summer of 1994 began this worldwide network of prayer. Currently the prayers are in eight languages with the Church’s Imprimatur. We have prayed daily for the priests, the Church, and the world since 1994. Associates are called to join prayer Chapters and help us circulate the newsletter centered on spreading devotion to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and helping to renew the Church through greater holiness. Please form a Prayer Chapter & order a Prayer Manual. |
