Letters
August 4, 2002Dear Mr. Weickert,
I've just opened your letter attached to a copy of Father Edward Carter's Spirituality Newsletters 2, which you sent off on Divine Mercy Sunday. I found it deeply moving, because of the deep love for the Church and its priests speaking through it, but of whom are so sorely tested these days, not only in your country. You will recall, that all the priests in my diocese, as well as a few houses of women religious, received a copy of that most valuable book. I sent an acknowledgement of receipt each time by e-mail.
Please pray that an idea which struck me while I read your letter may bear fruit. I want to encourage one of our priests, who is the director of our diocesan Marian Shrine, to take up the cause of The Apostles of the Eucharistic Heart and spread it in our diocese and beyond. Providence has already prepared him so that he should have no difficulty to make their spirituality his own; on the contrary.
With kindest regards and prayerful good wishes for your wonderful apostolate,
Fraternally yours in the Lord,
Bishop of _______

Messenger: Our Lord told me to go to a funeral.
A funeral is a big thing, all of a sudden
someone is gone from this life here
below.
While the people of the earth go on with
their busy lives there is the quiet pause
of all those attending the funeral.
I don't really understand why more
people do not understand the
temporariness of this life.
It is so apparent when we go to a funeral.
People should just attend
a funeral Mass once in a while
so they think about the temporariness
of this life.
We have so many busy things to do here in
our lives, but we are not going to be
on this earth forever.
August 20, 2002 message continues
Messenger: Our life on earth is only temporary.
I don't understand why more people
don't help us do what Mary and
Jesus are asking us to do.
The people that went to work
September 11, 2001, thought they
would be going about their
day in the same way
after that day but
their life was changed.
My very dear friends gave me
flowers for my birthday and
I really loved them, but
soon they withered and died.
Now no matter how beautiful
they were and no matter how
much pleasure they gave
me, they died.
Jesus came to the earth and Jesus died on
the cross.
Our life can be lived in so many different
ways.
I see the passing days of the little
children I once cared for, my
children. It used to be they needed
me every moment. I remember
with four children I felt I hardly
had any time to myself. I always
had some one to help.
My last son is going to college
at the end of this week.
I have been home for
32 years with children.
They have lives of their
own.
I look at little ones and
grandchildren and they
cling to their mothers,
they nurse, they are so
dependent on their parents.
It is so beautiful to see how Jesus
came to the earth and showed
us how to live.
I do not know what I would do if
I didn't pray my rosary.
My life is modeled after
Jesus.
Some days I feel I am in
the garden suffering for souls,
I live the mysteries of the
rosary in my life. I live
the death and resurrection
all day, all through the day.
August 20, 2002 message continues
Messenger:
Some of our suffering may be tremendous,
God shows us that we are to suffer
here below. If we meditate on
the sorrowful mysteries of
the life of Christ, we see
how He suffered.
Look at all Christ did in 33
years and he lived a
quiet life for 30 years.
Sometimes God calls us to work
very hard to do something for
a greater good and it seems
like a suffering, but we
know God is telling us to do
it, so we unite with Him deeply
and rely on His Might.
We must stop every day and smell
the roses.
We need to be so united with Jesus
in all we do.
We need to rely on His Might.
Every second, every moment to
be one with Him.
I must rely on His Might.
My life is very important to
help in the work of redemption.
The devil will try to get us to focus on
our imperfections. When we
sin, we must tell God we
are sorry, when we hurt others
or what ever we do. Mortal sins
need to be confessed in confession
for Catholics.
When we go to every Mass in the
beginning of the Mass, we tell God
we are sorry for our sins,
then we give ourselves
so completely and pray
for ourselves and our families
and the souls of the earth
and all our needs.
We pray the Lamb of God at
Mass and ask God
to have mercy on us.
We must realize our life here
is so short and we need to
pray and offer up our
lives to God as a sacrifice
to help bring down grace for souls.
The devil doesn't want us to do this.
Sometimes God allows us to suffer
so much, we need to realize
this and not give into
satan.
We need to offer up our suffering.
Suffering is a big part of life.
God allows many people to
suffer tremendously.
This is not saying that a person
who is sick should not
go to the doctors for help,
or an abused person should
endure another's abuse,
this is to say that many
of us have to suffer
everyday in very many
ways in our lives in
dealing with each other.
Our loved ones die and
this can be deep suffering.
We may not have the things
we desire, others may
say things that offend us
and not even know it and
then we suffer.
We may love and give and give
to someone and they don't
appreciate us, it seems and
we suffer.
All these are forms of suffering.
I suffer so much because I
realize how many people in
the world don't believe in Jesus.
I suffer so much because
of the sin in the world.
I suffer because I want
the souls of this earth
to go to heaven.
I suffer because I want to be
with Jesus so much (someday
in heaven) in the
fullness of life.
I suffer because I love so deeply
and want oneness on this
earth.
I want oneness in families,
I want oneness amongst
the people of the earth.
I want people to appreciate Jesus in the Eucharist.
I want people to appreciate the gift given in our
Church and the priest.
Suffering is a part of life.
Sometimes God just allows us
to suffer tremendously.
We can't always do what we want,
sometimes we suffer because
we have to work really hard
doing His will.
Sometimes we look forward to things
and they never happen as we
anticipated and we suffer.
Sometimes it looks like things are
different than they are to other people
and people think we are having great fun
when in fact we can be suffering
greatly.
The bottom line is, we must live
to do God's will and realize
in the death there is the
resurrection. Jesus shows
us this.

John 11: 25-26
Jesus said:
I am the resurrection.
Anyone who believes in me,
even though that person dies, will live,
and whoever lives and believes in me
will never die.
Do you believe this?
John 6: 35-59
Jesus answered them:
I am the bread of life.
No one who comes to me will ever hunger;
no one who believes in me will ever thirst.
But, as I have told you,
you can see me and still you do not believe.
Everyone whom the Father gives me
will come to me;
I will certainly not reject
anyone who comes to me,
because I have come from heaven,
not to do my own will,
but to do the will of him who sent me.
Now the will of him who sent me
is that I should lose nothing
of all that he has given to me,
but that I should raise it up
on the last day.
It is my Father’s will
that whoever sees the Son
and believes in him
should have eternal life,
and that I should raise that person up
on the last day.Meanwhile the Jews were complaining to each other about him, because he had said, ‘I am the bread that has come down from heaven.’ They were saying, ‘Surely this is Jesus son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know. How can he now say, “I have come down from heaven?” ’ Jesus said in reply to them, ‘Stop complaining to each other.
‘No one can come to me
unless drawn by the Father who sent me,
and I will raise that person up
on the last day.
It is written in the prophets:
They will all be taught by God;
everyone who has listened to the Father,
and learnt from him,
comes to me.
Not that anybody has seen the Father,
except him who has his being from God:
he has seen the Father.
In all truth I tell you,
everyone who believes has eternal life.
I am the bread of life.
Your fathers ate manna in the desert
and they are dead;
but this is the bread
which comes down from heaven,
so that a person may eat it and not die.
I am the living bread
which has come down from heaven.
Anyone who eats this bread
will live for ever;
and the bread that I shall give
is my flesh, for the life of the world.’Then the Jews started arguing among themselves, ‘How can this man give us his flesh to eat?’ Jesus replied to them:
In all truth I tell you,
if you do not eat
the flesh of the Son of man
and drink his blood,
you have no life in you.
Anyone who does eat my flesh
and drink my blood
has eternal life,
and I shall raise that person up
on the last day.
For my flesh is real food
and my blood is real drink.
Whoever eats my flesh
and drinks my blood
lives in me
and I live in that person.
As the living Father sent me
and I draw life from the Father,
so whoever eats me
will also draw life from me.
This is the bread
which has come down from heaven;
it is not like the bread our ancestors ate:
they are dead,
but anyone who eats this bread
will live for ever. This is what he taught at Capernaum in the synagogue.

August 13, 2002
Dear Rita,
I just had to write to you, to tell you that you make me cry every morning. I say my rosary every day and then I read a paragraph a day in your book.
First of all my daughter-in-law gave me your first volume of "God's Blue Book Teachings to Lift You Up" for Christmas that's when I started to cry. Your words are so true to life at least for me. You see I'm seventy-five years old, so I do have an awful lot in my past, that your book talks about me. And I have four daughters they are good girls, but they should read your books too.
Today I'm reading your Volume 2 an excellent book I'm on page 24 Jesus Will Handle This One.
I just had to write to you and say I wish I could meet you in person, you must be very special to write these books, because in my heart, when I read them I feel good and I do tell my daughters about them.
So far I have
Volume I Teachings to Lift You Up
Volume II The Fire of His Love
Volume III Love God, Love One Another

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Jesus Christ,
Cordial Greetings from Tanzania.
Re: Request for the Devotional items. i.e. Rosaries, Statues, etc.
I am the Catholic Priest working at ____ Parish in ______ Diocese. I was ordained in August 15th, 1996 (on the Solemnity of the Assumption).
I have been the Member of the Fatima Crusades since 1993. As our Lady herself request at Fatima, I try to spread the true devotion to the Virgin Mary in any place, as I can.
Due to the lack (insufficient) of the Holy Rosaries or higher price for the common Christians, I fail to meet my goal! So I ask you kindly to send me enough Rosaries (and statues if possible).
I am the Parish Priest, my flock is around 10,000 and they are very hungry i.e. they want to recite the ANGELIC SALUTATION DAILY! Please come to our help.
Wish you all the best,
Yours faithful Marian Priest,
