Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman, robed with the sun, standing on the moon, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. She was pregnant, and in labour, crying aloud in the pangs of childbirth.

                     August 13, 2004

                the hurricane was targeted for
                    Tampa

                We prayed in China and began
                    24 hour adoration

                A church full of people prayed

                The hurricane was aimed at Tampa

                This August 19, 2008 — the
                    hurricane was supposed to hit Tampa 2:00pm

                We prayed the whole day
                    August 13, 2008 —
                    a church full of people

                We prayed August 17, and August 19 also

                Again the hurricane turned
                    from Tampa to the other
                    side

                Insecurity — Us

                    God wants to mold us into holy soldiers —

                    Like any war — a sick soldier doesn't
                        fight too good

                How is your insecurity in the storm —
                    When God called us to be mystically
                        married to Him —

                    Consumed with love for God — for
                        we know the Father, Son and
                        Holy Spirit live in us

                God has blessed us with everything we
                    have to be thankful

                Everything we have is a blessing from
                    God for His holy purpose —
                    to love Him and love each other

                Loving is giving — it is not selfish —

                We are to prepare the way — to be soldiers
                    of God's love

                A person that is self-focused — who is
                    caught up in their wounds — may
                    keep trying to blame others for why
                    they don't feel good

                They chose their angry, hateful ways

                Gabriel came to Mary — the New Eve and gave
                    her a message

                Mary was the perfect handmaid of the Lord

Isaiah 7: 14

The Lord will give you a sign in any case: 
    It is this: the young woman is with child 
    and will give birth to a son 
    whom she will call Immanuel.

                    Mary means excellent, perfect

                Gabriel brings this important message
                    from God to Mary

                Hail Mary, full of grace
                    God is with you
                    Emmanuel means — God is
                        with us

                Mary is the New Ark of the Covenant

                Mary carries Jesus in her womb

                John Paul II said —

                    If you want to know Jesus go
                        to Mary

                Mary was conceived sinless from the
                    first moment of conception

                Our parents (Adam and Eve) sinned —

                    From the first moment of conception
                        we have original sin

                Jesus' Kingdom will have no end

                Mary takes us to Jesus

Let us pray: Grant, we beseech You, O Lord God, that we Your servants may enjoy perpetual health of mind and body and, by the glorious intercession of the blessed Mary, ever virgin, be delivered from present sorrow, and obtain eternal joy. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

We fly to your patronage, O holy Mother of God. Despise not our petitions in our necessities, but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin. Amen.

                Mary is the Spouse of the Holy Spirit
                Jesus is the Son of God

                God made man.

                Mary carried Jesus in her womb —

                    no less than when He was in
                    Mary's womb —

                We receive the risen Christ at Mass

Lovely Lady dressed in blue,
    teach me how to pray.
God was just your little Boy,
    tell me what to say.

Did you lift Him up sometimes,

                Birth of Jesus —

                    there was a star over the stable
                        at Bethlehem

                    Bethlehem means — house of bread

                    Jesus was laid in a manger

                    Jesus sustains us with the Eucharist

                    Jesus should get gold —
                        the King of Heaven and earth

                    Incense symbolizes Divinity

                    God is Divine

                God loves us so much He died for us —

                    Pharaoh put all the 1st born
                        to death

                Look at the Feast of the Holy Innocence

                Jesus is the New Moses

                Jesus had to flee into Egypt

                    We are enslaved

                    Jesus frees us

                Moses freed his people —

                    the waters divided

                    they made it to the promise land

                Jesus frees His people

                    to the slavery of sin

                    Jesus died on the cross

                    What came forth from His pierced
                        Heart is water for baptism and
                        blood for the Eucharist —

                    Not the promised land, but we
                        have been called to an
                        eternal paradise

                Think of the waters of baptism

Exodus 17: 8-15

The Amalekites then came and attacked Israel at Rephidim. Moses said to Joshua, 'Pick some men and tomorrow morning go out and engage Amalek. I, for my part, shall take my stand on the hilltop with the staff of God in my hand.' Joshua did as Moses had told him and went out to engage Amalek, while Moses, Aaron and Hur went up to the top of the hill. As long as Moses kept his arms raised, Israel had the advantage; when he let his arms fall, the advantage went to Amalek. But Moses' arms grew heavy, so they took a stone and put it under him and on this he sat, with Aaron and Hur supporting his arms on each side.

Thus his arms remained unwavering till sunset, and Joshua defeated Amalek, putting their people to the sword. Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Write this down in a book to commemorate it, and repeat it over to Joshua, for I shall blot out all memory of Amalek under heaven. Moses then built an altar and named it Yahweh-Nissi

                Jesus saves us from the slavery of
                    sin

                Sin becomes a slavery

                Holiness is about conquering temptation

                    Enslaved to sin

                    Addicted to sin

                    Sin enslaves us

                We can conquer anything with
                    Jesus in His time and in
                    His way

                Freedom from slavery

                Confession really helps

                Your sins are forgiven

                Jesus gives us the sacraments —

                Jesus gives us baptism

                We can get beat up, but not conquered

                Those in the desert worshipped the calf

                The People of God fell into temptation

                God gives us Himself in the Eucharist

                When we receive Christ we receive
                    the risen flesh.

                Weakness of garden —
                    seeking dominance for

                Jesus has given us the way to follow —
                We follow the vision of the Father
                We follow the Catholic Church
                    instituted by Christ

                Pray that the world lives by the vision
                    of the Father

                We see imperfectly
                    We see God through tainted vision
                    We see each other through tainted vision

                Husband and wife are to help each other.

                Our Spiritual Faculties are distorted

Galatians 5: 16-17

    Instead, I tell you, be guided by the Spirit, and you will no longer yield to self–indulgence. The desires of self–indulgence are always in opposition to the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are in opposition to self–indulgence: they are opposites, one against the other; that is how you are prevented from doing the things that you want to.

                Men and women in marriage are to be one
                    but there is tension between men and women
                    because of original sin

                Adam and Eve were self-centered
                We are to be other-centered

                Men seek dominance over women
                Women over other women

                Because of original sin — we can see a
                    person as an object not concerned
                    with the whole person

                Fr. Pasquini calls it "the cult of the body"

                Fr. Pasquini says they
                    think of the person as an object — not a person —

                Harmony broken

                        Tsunami
                        Hurricanes — elements, weather

                    Lose of harmony to animals and humans

                    Body gets cold, put on clothes

                There is death

                We look at each other and have distorted
                    vision

                ORIGINAL SIN

                Adam and Eve sinned

                We must wait for Jesus

                Jesus restored —

                God never abandons His people

                God wants us to have salvation

                We have a wounded human nature
                    due to original sin —

                This is error because of original sin
                    where man says "I'll pick what
                    I like about faith, but I will
                    reject what I don't like"

                We have school teachers teaching
                    who don't believe

                We have a free will
                Love has to be free
                We choose to hate —
                We choose to love —

                We choose to obey God and superiors
                    Act of will

                There is order to creation
                    symmetry
                    balance

                Sin is contrary to natural order
                    Pattern in God
                    Natural Order

                When we distort order it
                    causes problems

                Human beings trying to be like gods
                    without God

                God wants the hierarchy to consecrate
                    their dioceses to the Sacred Heart and
                    Immaculate Heart —

                God the Father sends Mary as a messenger
                    to tell us this

                The Hierarchy are the descendants
                    of the Apostles

                God will give special grace
                    for this peace as we
                    spread the Priestly Newsletter
