Prayer for Grace for our Country

Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our president and leaders. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.  

                August 6, 2019 - Transfiguration

                R. Dear Jesus,

                    Today I ask you to help me to
                do Your will. To obey the commandments
                of putting You first.

                    God gives us a free will. He
                wants us with that free will to
                love Him and love our neighbor
                as ourselves.

                    Satan wants us to live to
                be dominant – put ourselves
                and what we want before
                God's will.

                    The key to the spiritual life is
                surrendering your will to God's will
                and living in love –

                    Give God what He asks. Obey
                authority - learn to live under
                just authority - Children are
                commanded to love their parents
                so they know about living
                under God's will.

                    The ego can come in after a
                child leaves home that says
                nobody tells me what to do –
                I don't need to work in co-operation
                with others – I do what I want,
                when I want, the way I want and
                nobody tells me to correct anything
                I do.

                     It doesn't take long to know
                God intends us to co-operate
                with others He calls to help
                build His Kingdom with us.
                Can one person do the work
                of three or four – That is
                pride to decide we can do it
                all and we don't need to
                work with others God calls in
                their vocation to help us and
                we shut the door in their
                face to run things so we
                can have dominance,
                power, ego –

                    Families are built with
                people working with others
                so each person can use their
                talents to compliment one
                another and do a big job.

                    Do you see a grape vine?
                Is there one branch only –

                    How many grapes would one
                branch alone produce?

                    But satan leads the person
                to be enslaved to him – they
                say – its my way or the highway –
                I am the ruler – I don't even
                think about the people God
                puts in my life to help me
                learn how to live under
                God's will, to help me learn
                to love –

                    I know one way - my
                way and I'll do it harder,
                and get more and more dominant,
                isolated - doing things not the
                way God wants, how I want,
                my timing.

                    The sins St. Ignatius talks about
                are misuse of power, riches, affections
                all selfish –

                    A person rooted in God
                is self-less – Read Blue Book II –
                Fr. Carter said the whole
                book is about surrender –
               
                    In the end we all have to
                surrender and our book of life
                has pages – did we do God's
                plan or our plan –

                    Learning to live under just
                authority – is living in order
                and helping to prepare oneself
                for their eternal reward.
                The greatest commandment
                says:

                R. Living a life of dominance for
                dominance sake is pride –
                pride is a deadly sin –
                The road that leads to
                everlasting damnation is
                paved by living out the
                deadly sins mortally –
                God calls people to use their
                talents and co-operate
                and witness the Christ-life.

                    Christ came and took
                flesh and walked with
                imperfect men because He
                wanted our salvation –
                He wanted us in heaven
                with Him forever –
                He teaches us in the
                Word –
                There are 18 scriptures
                to the Holy Spirit Novena –
                How can somebody read
                these and ignore what
                they say –
 

1. Romans 8:14-17

All who are guided by the Spirit of God are sons of God; for what you received was not the spirit of slavery to bring you back into fear; you received the Spirit of adoption, enabling us to cry out, 'Abba, Father!' The Spirit himself joins with our spirit to bear witness that we are children of God. And if we are children, then we are heirs, heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ, provided that we share his suffering, so as to share his glory.

2. Romans 8:5-9

Those who are living by their natural inclinations have their minds on the things human nature desires; those who live in the Spirit have their minds on spiritual things. And human nature has nothing to look forward to but death, while the Spirit looks forward to life and peace, because the outlook of disordered human nature is opposed to God, since it does not submit to God's Law, and indeed it cannot, and those who live by their natural inclinations can never be pleasing to God. You, however, live not by your natural inclinations, but by the Spirit, since the Spirit of God has made a home in you. Indeed, anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.

3. 1 John 4:12-16

No one has ever seen God, but as long as we love one another God remains in us and his love comes to its perfection in us. This is the proof that we remain in him and he in us, that he has given us a share in his Spirit. We ourselves have seen and testify that the Father sent his Son as Saviour of the world. Anyone who acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him and he in God. We have recognised for ourselves, and put our faith in, the love God has for us. God is love, and whoever remains in love remains in God and God in him.

4. 1 John 4:17-21

Love comes to its perfection in us when we can face the Day of Judgement fearlessly, because even in this world we have become as he is. In love there is no room for fear, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear implies punishment and no one who is afraid has come to perfection in love. Let us love, then, because he first loved us. Anyone who says 'I love God' and hates his brother, is a liar, since whoever does not love the brother whom he can see cannot love God whom he has not seen. Indeed this is the commandment we have received from him, that whoever loves God, must also love his brother.

5. 1 John 4:7-11

My dear friends, let us love one another, since love is from God and everyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. Whoever fails to love does not know God, because God is love. This is the revelation of God's love for us, that God sent his only Son into the world that we might have life through him. Love consists in this: it is not we who loved God, but God loved us and sent his Son to expiate our sins. My dear friends, if God loved us so much, we too should love one another.

6. Acts of the Apostles 1:1-5

In my earlier work, Theophilus, I dealt with everything Jesus had done and taught from the beginning until the day he gave his instructions to the apostles he had chosen through the Holy Spirit, and was taken up to heaven. He had shown himself alive to them after his Passion by many demonstrations: for forty days he had continued to appear to them and tell them about the kingdom of God. While at table with them, he had told them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait there for what the Father had promised. 'It is', he had said, 'what you have heard me speak about: John baptised with water but, not many days from now, you are going to be baptised with the Holy Spirit.'

7. Acts of the Apostles 1:6-9

Now having met together, they asked him, 'Lord, has the time come for you to restore the kingdom to Israel?' He replied, 'It is not for you to know times or dates that the Father has decided by his own authority, but you will receive the power of the Holy Spirit which will come on you, and then you will be my witnesses not only in Jerusalem but throughout Judaea and Samaria, and indeed to earth's remotest end.'

As he said this he was lifted up while they looked on, and a cloud took him from their sight.

8. Acts of the Apostles 1:12-14

So from the Mount of Olives, as it is called, they went back to Jerusalem, a short distance away, no more than a Sabbath walk; and when they reached the city they went to the upper room where they were staying; there were Peter and John, James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Jude son of James. With one heart all these joined constantly in prayer, together with some women, including Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.

9. Acts of the Apostles 2:1-4

When Pentecost day came round, they had all met together, when suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of a violent wind which filled the entire house in which they were sitting; and there appeared to them tongues as of fire; these separated and came to rest on the head of each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak different languages as the Spirit gave them power to express themselves.

Prayer for Union with Jesus

Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.

    I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.

    I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.

    When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.

                R. Knowing one way –

                    Dominance for
                dominance sake – ruling –
                isolation – power is
                a dark road –

                We grow old and we die –

                We are vulnerable – we
                    can have an accident –

                Heaven is our true home –

                    We must surrender
                our will to God's will –
 

                R. Some people do the dance
                of isolation and power –
                20 years, day after day –
                month after month –

                Their lives must be that
                they are in control –
                selfishness –
                power –
                dominance –

                The I come first attitude –
                EYES that are focused
                    inward on themselves.

                Jesus teaches us to be
                    other focused – to
                    see ourselves
                    working with others –
                    co-operating –
                    not –
                    the "it's all about me"
                    attitude –
                    Blind by self-enclosure –
                    Caved - IN

                Jesus is Divine
                Jesus is God

                We are not divine –

                The devil is hate –
                    He refused to serve –

                God gives us a sharing
                    in His life in
                    baptism

                Washing with water is
                    associated with
                    washing away dirt

                Clear-water –

                Baptism is washing away
                    original sin, but
                    the tendencies remain –

                Holy water in Church is to remind
                    us of our baptism –
                    Mary is Immaculate
                    All - Pure

                Baptism means we are
                    marked for God –

                Nobody asked us to be born –
                    God the Father created
                    us and wants us to
                    live as a little child
                    under Him –
                    Not a BOSS – Isolated   
 

                R. Oh God help us to love and
                    adore you –
                    not be pre-occupied
                    with adoring what we want.

                The Kings came and adored Christ –

                R. We are one with God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

                We are one in the mystical body
                    of Christ –

                We are united to Mary, the
                    angels and saints and souls
                    in purgatory –

                United and praying in hope
                    for our salvation and
                    salvation of souls
                    of the world –

                We see the big picture –

                God's picture for all
                    the souls –
                    past, present, future –

                We are here now –
                    It's justice to build
                    up those to come

                We are a family –

                We are to help and love
                    others –
                    not be unfaithful before
                    God –

                We ask God to Bless our
                    country

                We are sent to spread the
                    Gospel

                We pray for leaders

                We pray for
                    reconciliation to our
                    God –

                We pray for peaceful
                    solutions to conflicts

                Not anger, control,
                    hatred, greed,
                    selfishness, lust,
                    lies.

‘You must repent,’ Peter answered, ‘and every one of you must be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise that was made is for you and your children, and for all those who are far away, for all those whom the Lord our God is calling to himself.’

1 Corinthians 6: 9-10

Matthew 25: 23

His master said to him, “Well done, good and trustworthy servant; you have shown you are trustworthy in small things; I will trust you with greater; come and join in your master’s happiness.”

                R. Eternal Salvation is what
                    is important –
                    Sin is what we must
                        fear

                    Jesus gives us the Holy Spirit –
                    The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Light
                    The Holy Spirit gives us strength
                        helps us in weakness –
                        enflames us to love –
