Prayer for Grace for our Country

Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our president and leaders. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.

23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

September 10, 2017

INTRODUCTION – (Ezekiel 33, 7-9) (Romans 13, 8-10) (Matthew 18, 15-20) Our first reading takes us back six hundred years before Christ as God explains to his prophet Ezekiel his responsibility as a prophet. Ezekiel must warn God’s people of their sinful ways or Ezekiel himself will be held accountable. It is a prelude to the gospel where Jesus instructs his followers how to help each other stay on the right track. St. Paul’s teaching on love in our second reading reminds us that if we should try to correct one another, it should be done out of love.

HOMILY – We are talking about something today we seldom hear much about - sin. When we sin, we hurt ourselves for we are doing something that takes us further away from God. It’s not just ourselves we hurt when we sin. Most of the time our actions hurt others as well as ourselves. That’s also what makes something a sin because it violates the law of love. This is something that modern Christians do not like to hear. We like to think we are in charge and we can do what we want – with our body, with our activities, with our time, or with our possessions. We forget that we are not as much in charge as we would like to think.

    In today’s gospel Jesus gives us some suggestions about how to deal with sin from the perspective of the one who is sinned against. He is not talking about the harm we do to ourselves. That is the focus in other parts of Matthew’s gospel in a number of parables. Jesus is talking about how to react when someone has hurt us and he gives four possible ways we might try to resolve the problem. One Scripture scholar, Douglas Hare said in order to understand today’s gospel, we should first look at the conclusion which says: if they don’t listen to the Church, treat them as an outsider. This gives us a clue that Jesus is dealing with a pretty large offense.

    It’s not like someone was chewing gum during Mass. It had to be something that affected the spiritual health of the church as a whole.

    One or two others might help mediate the situation so that the response to the offense does not reach that final stage. An offense that is harmful to the community needs to be addressed. We address it because we want to preserve unity and love in the community. As St. Paul says: the fulfillment of the law is love. (Romans 13,10) It’s a delicate thing to confront another, to persuade them they need to do the right thing.

    I was really impressed with a parent I knew. When he faced the unpleasant task of confronting one of his teenagers, he always said God has given you to me for me to care for and to love and I need to talk with you about this issue or this habit because some day I will be standing before God’s judgment seat and he will ask me why I didn’t do a better job. It sounds like Ezekiel in today’s first reading. I know it’s one of the hardest jobs I have to do.

    I’m not encouraging people to go around nitpicking each another. What I have been saying has to be balanced with love and kindness. Jesus tells us to be careful how we use these steps for he said “judge not, lest you be judged.” The Jesus who encourages fraternal correction also told us to take the beam out of our own eye before we try to take the speck out of our brother’s eye.

    Jesus does not give us a GPS to lead us through life, telling us where to turn, what exit to take off of the expressway, etc. He does give us a compass to guide us in the right direction. We have to struggle with putting up with little annoyances, of trying to get along with one another, or when to say something and how to say it.

    Some years ago when I was hearing confessions a little boy came in and confessed he was having difficulty getting along with his sister. I told him that getting along with other people is sometimes a challenge and suggested he say a little prayer before he talks with her and God would hear him and help him. I was rewarded on my good advice when the little boy came to confession a few months later and thanked me for the advice I gave him and he said “it works.” Amen.

24th Sunday in Ordinary Time

 Sirach 27: 30 - 28: 7

Resentment and anger, these are foul things too,
    and a sinner is a master at them both.
Whoever exacts vengeance will experience the vengeance of the Lord,
    who keeps strict account of sin.
Pardon your neighbour any wrongs done to you,
    and when you pray, your sins will be forgiven.
If anyone nurses anger against another,
    can one then demand compassion from the Lord?
Showing no pity for someone like oneself,
    can one then plead for one's own sins?
Mere creature of flesh, yet cherishing resentment! —
    who will forgive one for sinning?
Remember the last things, and stop hating,
    corruption and death, and be faithful to the commandments.
Remember the commandments, and do not bear your fellow ill-will,
    remember the covenant of the Most High, and ignore the offence.

Psalm 103: 1-4, 9-12

Bless Yahweh, my soul,
from the depths of my being, his holy name;
bless Yahweh, my soul,
never forget all his acts of kindness.

He forgives all your offences,
cures all your diseases,
he redeems your life from the abyss,
crowns you with faithful love and tenderness;

his indignation does not last for ever,
nor his resentment remain for all time;
he does not treat us as our sins deserve,
nor repay us as befits our offences.

As the height of heaven above earth,
so strong is his faithful love for those who fear him.
As the distance of east from west,
so far from us does he put our faults.

Romans 14: 7-9

For none of us lives for himself and none of us dies for himself; while we are alive, we are living for the Lord, and when we die, we die for the Lord: and so, alive or dead, we belong to the Lord. It was for this purpose that Christ both died and came to life again: so that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

John 13: 34

I give you a new commandment: love one another; you must love one another just as I have loved you.

Matthew 18: 21-35

Then Peter went up to him and said, ‘Lord, how often must I forgive my brother if he wrongs me? As often as seven times?’ Jesus answered, ‘Not seven, I tell you, but seventy–seven times.

Parable of the unforgiving debtor

‘And so the kingdom of Heaven may be compared to a king who decided to settle his accounts with his servants. When the reckoning began, they brought him a man who owed ten thousand talents; he had no means of paying, so his master gave orders that he should be sold, together with his wife and children and all his possessions, to meet the debt. At this, the servant threw himself down at his master’s feet, with the words, "Be patient with me and I will pay the whole sum." And the servant’s master felt so sorry for him that he let him go and cancelled the debt. Now as this servant went out, he happened to meet a fellow–servant who owed him one hundred denarii; and he seized him by the throat and began to throttle him, saying, "Pay what you owe me." His fellow–servant fell at his feet and appealed to him, saying, "Be patient with me and I will pay you." But the other would not agree; on the contrary, he had him thrown into prison till he should pay the debt. His fellow–servants were deeply distressed when they saw what had happened, and they went to their master and reported the whole affair to him. Then the master sent for the man and said to him, "You wicked servant, I cancelled all that debt of yours when you appealed to me. Were you not bound, then, to have pity on your fellow–servant just as I had pity on you?" And in his anger the master handed him over to the torturers till he should pay all his debt. And that is how my heavenly Father will deal with you unless you each forgive your brother from your heart.’

24th Sunday in Ordinary Time

September 17, 2017

HOMILY – Some time ago I met with a lady who told me that I greatly offended her some fifteen years ago. I had no remembrance of what I said. I’m pleased if I can remember something I did a week ago. She carried that hurt around for many years until she confronted me with it. I’m glad she spoke to me about it; it gave me a chance to ask for forgiveness and it was a chance for her to find peace.

    Holding on to grudges always eats away the inner peace of the one who holds the grudge. In a family, holding a grudge may be a way of punishing other family members. Then again, other members may not even be aware they are being punished. You heard the joke about the married couple who had a quarrel and they both stopped talking. After about a week, the husband asked a question about dinner. The wife said, “for food he begins to talk to me.” The husband said, “I didn’t know we weren’t talking – I thought we were just getting along.”

    Someone said carrying a grudge is like taking poison and expecting the person you are angry with to suffer its effects. Grudges (which is another word for unforgiveness) always hurt the person who keeps them bottled up in their own psyche. Carrying around a grudge along with anger, hatred and the desire to get even that goes with it takes its toll on us physically, emotionally and spiritually.

    At the time of Jesus, the common expectation was to forgive three times – then there was no obligation to forgive. So when Peter asked how often must I forgive – seven times – he was being abundantly generous. Jesus’ answer was really not an answer because he was saying there is no limit – we always have to be forgiving.

    Why is this? Because that’s the way God has been toward all of us.

    Forgiveness can be difficult. It hurts our pride to have to forgive. We think we should have been treated better by someone and so we carry around a grudge which only pulls us down. When we think of forgiveness, we often forget that we have to also forgive ourselves at times. I have run into people who at one time or another fell into serious sin and they never forgave themselves. They beat themselves up whenever they were reminded of what they had done. When God forgives you, you have to forgive yourself. That’s the only way you will have a sense of peace with God.

    I have two quick points before I conclude. Sometimes the pain goes so deep that it takes a long time or even therapy to be set free of the hurt that a person has experienced. A person should get the help they need. They will be glad they did after inner peace returns. My second point is that Jesus said, “pray for those who persecute you.” As long as you have that grudge, you are the one who will feel persecuted. Instead of boiling with anger against someone, send a prayer in their direction. It may help the person who hurt you and it will certainly help you. Amen.

                R. St. Ann grandmother of Jesus.

Mary: Jesus was a little boy.
So cute.
Sweet to be with.
Ann was his Grandma.

An empty well cannot give water.

When a heart is unloving it cannot give love, encouragement, support, strength.

If a person focuses on God then their hearts are full of Him and they are a heart ready to love.

Jesus: I give My letters of love that you will know My love and I will operate in abundant love from your heart.
A heart rooted in selfish absorption is like an empty well.

I am love.

I fill you with Myself and I love through you.

See a well, filled with beautiful water.
You can be refreshed there.

How can an empty heart even encourage another, or one full of anger, pride, jealousy and envy.

See a truck that says "Get rid of unwanted weeds call ___ ___ ____."

Now hear Me say get rid of weeds in your heart "Open My Blue Books anywhere."

The devil is real.

He tells the soul
You are all in all.

Foolish men.
Who gave you life today?

Who gave you another day to live?

I am so good to you and like the lepers who were healed some never even say thanks.

An empty well can not give water.
Hearts filled with pride and anger and jealousy and envy are like big thick weeds that when practiced choke out anything good.

Song: A Song from Jesus

May 17, 1992 (excerpt)

R. I had a vision of a brown door,
yesterday a vision of keys.

Jesus: You My child are strong and alive, you
have tried harder to do more –
look at yourself, open the door –
go through the door – you
are waiting to bloom as a bud
ready to burst open with life.
Your life – your potential is like a
seed that is ready to burst
its pod – it cannot be contained
any longer.

Open the door – let yourself out
use the key – the key is you – you
are strong – you are not dependent

R. How much can go through a closed door?

We received a refrigerator from a friend, it was so big they had to remove the hinges to take the door off.

Take the door off - open the heart - trust in God.

In the spring much rain is needed after a long winter.

There are many fires now after summer.

What the soul is to have is more of God.
We were made for God - sin takes us away from Him.

A person that lives in sin invites more and more devils in.

Sometimes in abandoned houses men come and more men come and more men and they have drugs and take over.

What happens to the human heart when the deadly sins take over?

Souls in hell will not know God.
Mary gave us Mary’s message.

Mary's Message
from the Rosary of August 27, 1996

Mary:  I stood beneath the cross of my Son, and my Heart was in such pain for I saw Him before my eyes. I saw Him covered with blood. I saw Him die. My Heart, my children, my Heart to watch my Son, but my Heart, my Heart, how I suffered for my little children of the world that give in to this world and give up the love of my Son. O my little children of light, I give you this message. Carry this light into the darkness for your Mother Mary, for I stood beneath the cross and I cried. I cried for the little ones. I cried for the young ones, the ones that do not care and will lose their souls. How do I make you see for you will not listen to me? What can I do? I come. I appear. I beg. I plead. I give you these gifts from my Son, and you reject me. I do not deliver messages very often anymore for I have been ignored. The message is the same. You do not read the messages I have given to you. Please help me. Help the little children. I appear. I appear. I appear, and I am ignored. I stood beneath the cross, and I cried. I cried, and my Heart was in such anguish for my little children, for I am searching for them this day as I searched for the Child Jesus. Please, please help me. I cannot hold back the hand of my Son any longer. I am Mary, your Mother. I ask you to help my children. You are my children of light.

R. Mary has appeared calling us to help.

Hell is real.
Prayer is needed.

September 12, 2020

R. God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit live in the graced, baptized soul.

God the Holy Spirit enlightened us to know God’s will, to be inspired in what we do.
God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit inhabit the soul, strengthening us and giving us His gifts.

Isaiah 61: 1-3

The spirit of Lord Yahweh
    is on me
for Yahweh has anointed me.
He has sent me to bring the news
    to the afflicted,
to soothe the broken–hearted,
to proclaim liberty to captives,
release to those in prison,
to proclaim a year of favour from Yahweh
and a day of vengeance for our God,
to comfort all who mourn
(to give to Zion’s mourners),
to give them for ashes a garland,
for mourning–dress, the oil of gladness,
for despondency, festal attire;
and they will be called
    ‘terebinths of saving justice’,
planted by Yahweh to glorify him.

R. Come Holy Spirit enlighten my soul, fill me with Your love.

Let my heart be made more in the image of God.

I love Thee, my God.

Fill me, live in me, inhabit my soul God.

We are a temple of the Holy Spirit.

So beautiful and precious.

Amen.

Consecrate Your Churches, Home, and Workplace to Our Hearts

Jesus: I want you to consecrate the human race to Sacred Heart of Jesus. I want to be enthroned in all homes, churches, and businesses.

June is the month of the Sacred Heart. I want to be king and center of all hearts. I will keep My promises given to St. Margaret Mary of Alacoque. I promise all this from My most Sacred Heart. Consecrate your chapter to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Consecrate the church or room in which you hold your meeting.

Today is First Friday. I want you to circulate the message I gave to you on consecrating your homes to My Sacred Heart. Make booklets available for people to be able to consecrate their homes and businesses easily. Use the message I gave to you when you consecrated your home.

The Sacred Heart of Jesus will reign and the Immaculate Heart of Mary will triumph. Consecrate all homes and businesses to Our Two Hearts. Tell all to have displayed and honored, pictures of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. May and June are the months of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Tell all to consecrate their homes to Our Two Hearts. I am the Sacred Heart of Jesus. On this day, the 5th of May, 1995, First Friday, I request that you spend the next two months encouraging all to do this consecration.

Gather your friends and say the prayers I have instructed you to say. Sing "To Jesus Heart All Burning" and "Immaculate Mary." May these Two Hearts of love give all members of the human race peace, joy and love in their hearts.

R. Jesus said He desires to be honored by men in the Blessed Sacrament.

Jesus: Circulate the Blue Book messages. They promote this devotion. How My Heart is filled with happiness by the souls who come to the tabernacle and sit with Me. I am Jesus Christ, I wait and long and thirst for My precious souls to come. The souls of men have turned cold. I want souls to come to daily communion and be with Me in front of the tabernacle.

Men's hearts have turned cold. They do not know what love really means. I want hearts that are filled with fire for love of God. Men's hearts have turned to stone.

You are to promote devotion to My most Sacred Heart. I want hearts that burn with love for My Heart. It is through Me that you will know the Father's love. I am the Way, I am the Truth, I am the Life.

Offer a holy hour for the indifference, ingratitude, and sacrileges committed against Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, the Sacrament of His greatest love.

R. He promises great graces to those who give reparation to His Sacred Heart and who tell others about offering reparation to Him.  end of May 5, 1995

                    Say Holy Spirit Sequence

 From the Lectionary

                        Pentecost Sequence

Come, Holy Spirit, come!
And from your celestial home
    Shed a ray of light divine!

Come, Father of the poor!
Come, source of all our store!
    Come, within our bosoms shine!

You, of comforters the best;
You, the soul's most welcome guest;
    Sweet refreshment here below;

In our Labor, rest most sweet;
Grateful coolness in the heat;
    Solace in the midst of woe.

O most blessed Light divine,
Shine within these hearts of yours,
    And our inmost being fill!

Where you are not, man has naught,
Nothing good in deed or thought,
    Nothing free from taint of ill!

Heal our wounds, our strength renew;
On our dryness pour your dew;
    Wash the stains of guilt away;

Bend the stubborn heart and will;
Melt the frozen, warm the chill;
    Guide the steps that go astray.

On the faithful, who adore
And confess you, evermore
    In your sev'nfold gift descend;

Give them virtue's sure reward;
Give them your salvation, Lord;
    Give them joys that never end. Amen.
Alleluia.

May 2, 2020 - First Saturday

R. Let the thoughts be positive.
My God help everything in my brain and body to work toward health.

God gave us a beautiful body.
The brain is the pilot. Let it be filled with light and healing energy.
God gave us this beautiful machine to operate through life.
Our eyes help us see.

Our brain helps direct the body.

Our ears give us hearing.

Our arms and legs help us live, maneuver.

Oh God thank You for all You have given us.

You gave us breath for our body.
You gave us organs to operate, so we can live.

You gave us cells to reproduce, a skeleton and nerves.

You gave us blood and a system to maintain life.
Oh God thank You for the peace we can have, the interior life, the brain to think,
the heart to love.

Oh God thank You for the world with such beauty, the sky, the rolling hills and mountains, lakes and streams, the ocean so wide and beautiful.

Oh God all the animals, fish, greenery and flowers.

So much beauty, God.

God is love.
God gives us each other to love, to know, to be with.

God gives us our family to love, to be with.

Oh my God, You are so good to me.

My God, Thank You.

I love Thee so.

God is love and in Him is no darkness.

God loved us into existence. God wants us with Him.

Pure and perfect love.

Thank You God for this day and all it brings.

I love You.

Guiding Light - Reflect on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Litugical Year (2011/2012)
$ 10.00

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B     The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $15

Guiding Light - Steadfast to the Son
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle A of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A    The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $15

Guiding Light - Focusing on the Word
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle B of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B    At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $15

Guiding Light - Feed My Soul
Inspiring Homilies Covering Cycle C of the Litugical Year
$ 10.00

Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C    In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $15

Guiding Light - The Word Alive in Our Hearts
Inspiring Homilies by Fr. Joe Robinson
$ 5.00

Guiding Light — The Word Alive in Our Hearts. Cycle A (partial)    Homilies by the Reverend Joe Robinson given at St. Boniface Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is a tremendous honor Fr. Joe has allowed us to share these great gifts with you – for greater holiness and knowing more and more about God. $10

Audio CD - Read by Father Edward J. Carter
$ 10.00

Priestly Newsletter — 2000 #1 — CD.Christ is Our Strength — Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. It is so beautiful. "This brief passage contains one of the greatest lessons of the spiritual life. As we progress along our spiritual journey, we become increasingly aware of how weak we are in our—selves, but how strong we are in Christ. To experience our weakness involves suffering. The degree and kind of suffering can vary. The suffering can include the experience of the classical dark night of the spirit as described by St. John of the Cross. One of the main purposes of the dark night is to make a person keenly aware of his or her helplessness without God." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10
