R. The Holy Spirit wants to Posses our soul.
Love is the foundation of
Christian Perfection –
God is love –
How can we measure the
depth of God's love –
the depth of God's
unfathomable love?
the white heat of God's love?
Love is harmonious with
God's plan –
Love brings unity –
The Holy Spirit brings unity to the Church –
The Holy Spirit brings unity to the family
The Holy Spirit brings unity to the world

R. God loves us first – we respond.
Excerpt from Response to God's Love by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J.
... In reference to Christianity, God himself is the ultimate mystery. Radically, God is completely other and transcendent, hidden from man in his inner life, unless he chooses to reveal himself. Let us briefly look at this inner life of God.
The Father, in a perfect act of self-expression, in a perfect act of knowing, generates his son. The Son, the Word, is, then, the immanent expression of God's fullness, the reflection of the Father. Likewise, from all eternity, the Father and the Son bring forth the Holy Spirit in a perfect act of loving.
At the destined moment in human history, God's self-expression, the Word, immersed himself into man's world. God's inner self-expression now had also become God's outer self-expression. Consequently, the mystery of God becomes the mystery of Christ. In Christ, God tells us about himself, about his inner life, about his plan of creation and redemption. He tells us how Father, Son, and Holy Spirit desire to dwell within us in the most intimate fashion, how they wish to share with us their own life through grace. All this he has accomplished and does accomplish through Christ. St. Paul tells us: "I became a minister of this Church through the commission God gave me to preach among you his word in its fullness, that mystery hidden from ages and generations past but now revealed to his holy ones. God has willed to make known to them the glory beyond price which this mystery brings to the Gentiles—the mystery of Christ in you, your hope of glory. This is the Christ we proclaim while we admonish all men and teach them in the full measure of wisdom, hoping to make every man complete in Christ" (Col 1:25-28).
R. To know Divine things the
soul must be pure –
purity is produced by love –
Love unites the soul to God –
Negative behavior is not of God –
God is not dark –
God is light and love
Love breaks down the barrier
between men and they
unite in God –
To see God –
We must be pure –
The more pure we are –
The more we know and see Him –
The loving soul is open to
the Divine inspiration –
The soul steeped in deadly
sins is closed-in
and the Holy Spirit needs to
move in a soul
open to His delicate
touch!
God is love!
A person who loves God
abandons the self to this
delicate action of the Holy Spirit
to lead them in the ways
of the beloved –
It helps the soul lose
its own grasp of
dominance for dominance
sake and to surrender
itself to love –
God is the Master of the
soul –
God is love –
The soul seeks the mystery
of God's love –
the Divine Mystery –
the soul seeks its
expression in God –
is not closed in and
self-focused –
In the rosary on September 5th
the message was "Focus
on Jesus" –
The heart of the man who loves
God is focused on Jesus –
Jesus is the King and Center
of the man's life –
To love God is to be united
more and more like Him –
to live in Him –
to let go of self –
The abandonment of self
to the will of God as
Mary has shown us –
Priestly Newsletter Book II - September/October 1997
In all this Mary offers an example. Selfishness was totally foreign to her. She did not belong to herself. She belonged to God. She was not closed in upon herself. She was completely open to God. When God spoke, she listened. When God pointed the way, she followed. She realized that life is not a process a person masters by carefully mapping out one's own self-conceived plans of conquest, but a mystery to be gradually experienced by being open to God's personal and loving guidance.
Selfishness, then, did not close Mary off from God's call. Neither did fear. God asked her to assume a tremendous responsibility. He asked her to be the Mother of Jesus. Mary did not engage in a process of false humility and say that such a great role was above her. She did not say that she did not have the proper qualifications for this awesome mission. Briefly, she did not waste time looking at herself, making pleas that she was not worthy, telling the angel he had better go look for someone else. No, Mary did not look at herself. Her gaze was absorbed in God. She fully realized that whatever God asked of her, His grace would accomplish. She fully realized that although she herself had to cooperate, this work was much more God's than hers.
Mary's words, then, truly sum up what is the authentic Christian response at any point of life, in any kind of situation: "I am the handmaid of the Lord," said Mary, "let what you have said be done to me".
R. We love the Holy Spirit –
We love the Divine God –
We are docile to the touch
of the Holy Spirit
As a leaf blowing in the
wind –
We surrender our will to
God's will –
We let ourselves be possessed
by God
Prayer for Union with Jesus
Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.
I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.F
I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.
When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.
-God's Blue Book, January 17, 1994
R. The more pure we are – the more
we let go to this possession
by God and God can move
in us – operating in us
to do His work
The closed down person is caved
in
controlling –
wanting their space
wanting their bad habits to
be the rule of their
lives and
trying to force others to their
dysfunction –
As soon as a man and woman
marries there is a community
and with each child this
community grows –
In the Movement
I have watched couples
who have been responsible
for purity in their families
while they give to one another,
in love in unity with their children,
grandchildren, great grandchildren
united in love to God –
Religious life in communities
must be under the supervision
of a superior who has
authority. Those under
in religious life must
live in obedience and
chastity or the playing
out of dysfunction
and closing down by
isolated individuals
can almost take out the
institution –
Life is not a battle of a
man trying to form their
life situation into their
wounded human image and likeness.
People can be filled with envy
and pride, anger and
jealousy to take down
the house and keep
going so they can
control, have power,
seek negative attention
and live in argumentation
turning a holy place into
their private dysfunctional
battlefield – if a person already
choosing an isolated life
tries to force their stilted
vision on others –
Life is to be lived in peace
and joy and harmony
with Life in God –
Structure under God –
Love is the ruling force.
God is the Master!
The will of God is the Plan!
A person fixed on inordinate
attachments can try to
take down the house for
their attachments –
St. Ignatius tells us about the
Purpose of the Spiritual
Exercises.
From The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius,
by Louis J. Puhl, S.J. p. 1121. SPIRITUAL EXERCISES
Which have as their purpose the conquest of self
and the regulation of one's life in such a way that
no decision is made under the influence of any
inordinate attachment
R. Love of the Holy Spirit is found
in abandoning oneself
to be possessed by Him –
in complete surrender and
living purely and seeking
perfection –
Love consists in union –
Did you ever hear it takes
2 to tango –
How could an isolated
person shut down and
in darkness tango
with anyone
satan
Love is
God first loved us
and we abandon ourselves
to God
Give and take –
Working out problems in
love and still loving –
Living in obedience and
structure
The Holy Spirit is the Gift of God
From the Priestly Newsletter Book III by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J.
The Holy Spirit And Mary
The late Archbishop Luis M. Martinez of Mexico strikingly speaks of the ongoing cooperation of Mary with the Holy Spirit regarding the reproduction of Jesus within us: "Christian life is the reproduction of Jesus in souls…
"Now, how will this mystical reproduction be brought about in souls? In the same way in which Jesus was brought into the world, for God gives a wonderful mark of unity to all His works. Divine acts have a wealth of variety because they are the work of omnipotence; nevertheless, a most perfect unity always shines forth from them because they are the fruit of wisdom; and this divine contrast of unity and variety stamps the works of God with sublime and unutterable beauty.
"In His miraculous birth, Jesus was the fruit of heaven and earth…The Holy Spirit conveyed the divine fruitfulness of the Father to Mary, and the virginal soil brought forth in an ineffable manner our most loving Savior, the divine Seed, as the prophets called Him…
"That is the way He is reproduced in souls. He is always the fruit of heaven and earth.
"Two artisans must concur in the work that is at once God’s masterpiece and humanity’s supreme product: the Holy Spirit and the most holy Virgin Mary. Two sanctifiers are necessary to souls, the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, for they are the only ones who can reproduce Christ.
"Undoubtedly, the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary sanctify us in different ways. The first is the Sanctifier by essence; because He is God, who is infinite sanctity; because He is the personal Love that completes, so to speak, the sanctity of God, consummating His life and His unity, and it belongs to Him to communicate to souls the mystery of that sanctity. The Virgin Mary, for her part, is the co-operator, the indispensable instrument in and by God’s design. From Mary’s maternal relation to the human body of Christ is derived her relation to His Mystical Body which is being formed through all the centuries until the end of time, when it will be lifted up to the heavens, beautiful, splendid, complete, and glorious.
"These two, then, the Holy Spirit and Mary, are the indispensable artificers of Jesus, the indispensable sanctifiers of souls. Any saint in heaven can co-operate in the sanctification of a soul, but his co-operation is not necessary, not profound, not constant: while the co-operation of these two artisans of Jesus of whom we have just been speaking is so necessary that without it souls are not sanctified (and this by the actual design of Providence), and so intimate that it reaches to the very depths of our soul. For the Holy Spirit pours charity into our heart, makes a habitation of our soul, and directs our spiritual life by means of His gifts. The Virgin Mary has the efficacious influence of Mediatrix in the most profound and delicate operations of grace in our souls. And, finally, the action of the Holy Spirit and the co-operation of the most holy Virgin Mary are constant; without them, not one single character of Jesus would be traced on our souls, no virtue grow, no gift be developed, no grace increased, no bond of union with God be strengthened in the rich flowering of the spiritual life.
"Such is the place that the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary have in the order of sanctification. Therefore, Christian piety should put these two artisans of Christ in their true place, making devotion to them something necessary, profound, and constant." 18

From Tell My People by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J.
Jesus: "My beloved friend, tell My people to pray daily to the Holy Spirit. They are to pray for an increase in His gifts. My people must realize that the Holy Spirit comes to transform them. The Spirit desires to transform you more and more according to My image. Those who are docile to His touch become increasingly shaped in My likeness. He performs this marvel within Mary's Immaculate Heart. The more one dwells in My Mother's Heart, the more active are the workings of the Spirit. The Spirit leads Mary to place you within My own Heart. In both Our Hearts, then, your transformation continues. The more you are formed after My own Heart, the more I lead you to the bosom of My Father. Tell My people all this. Tell them to pray daily for a greater appreciation of these wondrous gifts. I am Lord and Master. All who come to My Heart will be on fire to receive the gifts of the Spirit in ever greater measure! I love and bless My people!"
Reflection: The Holy Spirit is given to us to fashion us ever more according to the likeness of Jesus. And the more we are like Jesus, the more Jesus leads us to the Father. Do we, each day, pray to the Holy Spirit to be more open to His transforming influence? Do we strive each day to grow in union with Mary? The greater our union with our Mother, the spouse of the Holy Spirit, the greater is the transforming action of the Holy Spirit within us.
end of excerpt
R. We are commanded to love God
first, with our whole
mind, our whole soul
and our whole being and
love our neighbor as
ourselves –
The Holy Spirit infuses virtue into
our heart –
We receive a SUPERNATURAL
gift to love –
likened to God –
to love in a God-like way!
The Holy Spirit moves in the soul
like a docile breathe,
but the window
must be open –
A Prayer for Intimacy with the Lamb, the Bridegroom of the Soul
Oh Lamb of God, Who take away the sins of the world, come and act on my soul most intimately. I surrender myself, as I ask for the grace to let go, to just be as I exist in You and You act most intimately on my soul. You are the Initiator. I am the soul waiting Your favors as You act in me. I love You. I adore You. I worship You. Come and possess my soul with Your Divine Grace, as I experience You most intimately.
R. The person who is closed down
has control –
he never lets go of
control –
It can be his actions
of pride, envy and jealousy
from his wounded
human nature and
He can try to force his dysfunction
in controlling, punishing
ways on others –
Who wants to live their
angry ways of pride
and darkness –
It's like thorns on a
rose bush –
Do you want the thorns
and stems or
Do you want the beautiful
rose – designed by
the Divine Creator?
We want God to come to us and
penetrate and possess
our heart and soul –
In this we will be
consumed with Divine Love and
we will know joy for
which we were,
created –
The selfish man - seeks himself
and gets himself – usually
strung in a life of darkness
and misery – he seems to
idolize and wants others to
let him force this sickness
on them –
Jesus: What a fool to turn to sin
and to throw supernatural
love away; purity is
the key to happiness –
purity brings joy!
You can give yourself freely
to God and know
Divine Love.
To be advancing in the
mystical life one must
be letting go more and more
to the possession of one's
soul by the Holy Spirit.
This unifies the group
when the Holy Spirit is working
in their hearts –
this brings perfection
and peace and love in souls –
This brings profound simplicity
in serving God and loving
God –
You can live eternal peace
in heaven –
but it is a reward
for those who love and
serve the Lord.
The Divine artist working
in the soul – more and
more being molded
in My image and
likeness is the Holy Spirit –
When the people were lead in parishes
and communities by the Holy Spirit they flowered
and grew – their fruits numbered so
many –
When men forced their dysfunction,
isolation on institutions –
the institutions finally
withered like the withered
branch and then died off –
living the deadly sins –
ends in darkness and
thwartedness, isolation
and utter pandemonium
while satan rules in the
enslavement of the one
who forces the dysfunction.
I bled for their sins – souls suffered.
R. Baptism gives us a sharing in God's
life –
A baby is baptized a lot of times –
A baby is beginning his life so
therefore it is beautiful to
think of a baby being given
this beautiful gift of sharing
in Divine life in baptism –
Our knowing and loving capacity is
elevated in baptism –
God can give to us the gift of
supernatural prudence in
baptism – even children –
How foolish it is indeed for man
to operate in envy of those who God
has chosen to teach them about
Himself.
A man has a wounded human nature
and tendencies toward the deadly sins:
pride, greed, envy, wrath, lust,
gluttony,
and sloth
How foolish it is for a man
to be so envious of others to
try to block teachings given
by God through men helping others
to know about God –
How foolish to think supernatural
gifts are not to be looked upon
with great gratitude for
God's goodness.
A man who is prideful seeks
dominance for dominance
sake like Eve in the Garden –
We see how far reaching was
the sin of Adam and Eve in
effecting the souls of the human race –
What a fool a man is who
puts his desire and actions
of pride in thinking he is
equal to God –
Man in sinning is not
equal to supernatural gifts
of knowing and loving likened
to God.
Every time we go to Mass
we renew our covenant of
love to God –
Mass is a gift of God's
love for man
and Man in return should
unite in deepest love to God.
We can compare our union with
God at Mass as the love we
have with Jesus as the bridegroom
of the soul.
The idea of sacrifice may seem
"irksome" to a person – The idea of
sacrifice is a gift we give to God –
It should be the opposite of "irksome"
A sacrifice means to make
something 'holy'.
To take something out of
this world and put it in
God's world –
Sanctify – Consecrate
If I am sacrificing my day in
the Morning Offering – I am
giving it to God –
It is going from my possession
to God's world –
A religious sacrifice is an attempt
to give something to God –
The Jews sacrificed Lambs and
Oxen – pigeons – grain –
first fruits etc. –
In sacrifice they burned these
things as a sacrifice to God –
They couldn't just throw them
around – so they burned them
and they envisioned God taking
the gifts.
Fire was a symbol for God –
God owns all of creation, birds,
animals, fruits of the earth.
God does not own man's heart.
Man has a free will to chose
to love – Man has a free
will to give himself to God freely.
In giving these gifts to God in
sacrifice he was trying to tell
God he was giving God himself.
This is why food was offered.
This is why lambs were offered to God –
Sometimes the food was totally
consumed – sometimes offers
would eat the food –
This was sacred food – so they
considered themselves as taking
place in a sacred banquet –
eating a meal with God –
Passover
Christ' sacrifice was a perfect
act of love. Christ offered Himself
as a sacrifice –
Christ gave Himself as a gift to God!
This was the perfect sacrifice –
since Christ was fully open to God!
Christ offered His Heart and will
totally to His Father!
For love of men, Christ gave
Himself to God – it was
a gift of love –
John 17: 19
and for their sake I consecrate myself so that they too may be consecrated in truth.
R. And Christ did this so we, too,
can be sanctified in truth.
By being made part of this
sacrifice, we too are sanctified –
We hear God's word at Mass
We put our faith in Him –
Faith in God!
We are united with God in this!
We are made holy –
We adore God –
We show love to God
We thank God
We ask God to outpour
goodness to us –
We show repentance to God –
We turn to God –
The bread and wine at Mass is
changed into the Body and
Blood of Christ!
The Mass is the Sacrifice of Calvary,
sacramentally made present.
We are united to the offering of Christ!
Our prayers and sacrifices are
lifted up and made part
of His prayer and sacrifice!
"We come to you Father, with praise
and thanksgiving - through Jesus Christ,
your Son" –
From the Priestly Newsletter
•
Through the Eucharistic Sacrifice Christ the Lord desired to set before us in a very special way this remarkable union whereby we are united one with another and with our divine Head, a union that no word of praise can ever sufficiently express. For in this sacrifice the sacred ministers act not only as the representative of our Saviour, but as the representative of the whole Mystical Body and of each one of the faithful. Again, in this act of sacrifice, the faithful of Christ, united by the common bond of devotion and prayer, offer to the eternal Father through the hands of the priest, whose prayer alone has made it present on the altar, the Immaculate Lamb, the most acceptable victim of praise and propitiation for the Church’s universal need. Moreover, just as the divine Redeemer, while dying on the Cross, offered Himself to the eternal Father as Head of the whole human race, so now, ‘in this clean oblation’ He not only offers Himself as Head of the Church to His heavenly Father but in Himself His mystical members as well. He embraces them all, yes, even the weaker and more ailing members, with the deepest love of His Heart. (Pope Pius XII, Mystici Corporis AAS, XXXV, 232-233)2828. Pope Pius XII, Encyclical Letter, Mystici Corporis, AAS XXXV, pp. 232-233.
R. At baptism we dedicate ourselves to God –
God gives us a sharing in His life –
At Mass we offer ourselves to God –
God gives Himself to us –
We receive a greater sharing
in His life –
A Prayer before the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass
Let me be a holy sacrifice and unite with God in the sacrament of His greatest love.
I want to be one in Him in this act of love, where He gives Himself to me and I give myself as a sacrifice to Him. Let me be a holy sacrifice as I become one with Him in this my act of greatest love to Him.
Let me unite with Him more, that I may more deeply love Him. May I help make reparation to His adorable Heart and the heart of His Mother, Mary. With greatest love, I offer myself to You and pray that You will accept my sacrifice of greatest love. I give myself to You and unite in Your gift of Yourself to me. Come and possess my soul.
Cleanse me, strengthen me, heal me. Dear Holy Spirit act in the heart of Mary to make me more and more like Jesus.
Father, I offer this my sacrifice, myself united to Jesus in the Holy Spirit to You. Help me to love God more deeply in this act of my greatest love.
Give me the grace to grow in my knowledge, love and service of You and for this to be my greatest participation in the Mass. Give me the greatest graces to love You so deeply in this Mass, You who are so worthy of my love.
-Mass Book, December 27, 1995
R. When we don't go to communion
it's like saying –
God I want You to accept me,
but I don't need You!
Holy Communion
Love desires union
Love gives of itself –
Jesus is present in the Blessed Sacrament
Body, Blood, soul and Divinity –
We believe Christ is really
and truly present that the
bread and wine become
the risen Christ!!
Christ showed us power in His
words – Christ calmed the storm
R. Christ raised Lazarus from the dead!
When Christ said
"This is My body given for

I Love You
April 13, 1994
Words of Jesus. Read before the Tabernacle.
Jesus: How, child, do I, Jesus, tell you I love you? You hold on to silly things when God is in your midst and is ardently loving you. I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I am writing to each precious child this day. I am on fire for love of you. I remain in the Eucharist to be with you with My ardent love. I did not want to leave My beloved ones at the Last Supper. I love you so, My dear and ardently loved children. I remain with you this day in the Blessed Sacrament, the same Jesus Who died a brutal death on the Cross.
Do you know I am truly present there? Do you know that God waits every day for you in the tabernacle? Do you comprehend even a minute amount of My love? You will never know of how I love you on earth.
I, Jesus, truly the Son of God, came to earth a man and suffered a brutal death for love of you. I love you so much! I remain with you this day. I long for your love. I want you to come and be with Me in front of the tabernacle. I wait, I yearn for you to come and whisper your love to Me. I am a person and I love you this day, with such an ardent on-fire love! No human could ever compare a speck to My love for you.
I wait, little ones, in the tabernacle. I wait for you to come and receive Me in Communion. I want you to want Me so much you cannot wait to come and receive Me. I want to be the love, the center of your life!
I am Jesus. I am the Son of God. I am writing to you this day. I want to possess your very soul and live in you. I have all you need, sweet ones. Oh, you are so blind! I long for your union with Me. I wrote the book of love. I instituted it, yet you go to the world for your love and do not even come to Me! Oh, I love you, little ones. Little ones, beloved of the Father, loved by the Holy Spirit, mothered by My very own mother! What more can I say? The rest is up to you!
I give you your will with such love and I want your love freely given. I am God. What do you think you could ever need that I do not give you? I am the Savior of this world. I am Jesus, the Son of God. I am waiting for you. I am longing for you. I am yearning for you. I am God. I have all you ever will need!
Surrender this life to Me. Pray My Prayer for Union with Me. I want to possess your soul and operate from your very being. I am Jesus. I am the Son of God. I am the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I am Who am. I died and rose on the third day.
Harken to My call, harken to My pleading. Spend your days in love with Me. Nothing matters unless it is rooted in Me and rooted in My love. I am the Son of God. I am the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I love you with the tenderest love. I am waiting this day for just you, My beloved one. Come to Me for I am the tenderest of all hearts. I am the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Song: I Love You Jesus
R. Many grains make ONE Bread
Many grapes make ONE Wine
Many people receive
one bread – the
Body and Blood of Jesus
This union unites us to Christ –
The symbol of food is important –
We need food for our body –
We need Christ for our spiritual life –
Without Christ we grow weak
and we could die –
We are told to fast one hour
before communion –
How does communion
work –
It will not work automatically –
We need to be open –
It depends on our attitude
toward Christ –
We should reverence the Eucharist –
Jesus is truly present in His
Divinity and humanity –
no less present than when
He walked the earth
R. Teresa Neumann
Born Good Friday April 18, 1898
1918 she had a back injury –
it lasted 7 years –
she suffered several falls and
became totally blind in a year,
along with abscesses on
her body and lung disease,
and no cures available,
she was cured miraculously –
1926 she received the stigmata –
she had visions of the passion –
many people came to
see her
1927 a full investigation by the
bishop and 2 doctors (one an
atheist), 4 nuns and
nurses
she lived without food and drink –
15 days sister watching
no food, only the Eucharist –
She lost 11 lbs during ecstasies.
She gained it back
without nourishment!
This weight gain would
have required a lot of food!
They checked everything –
no nourishment –
except 1/8 of a host –
less than a teaspoon of water –
She weighed the same at the
end of the investigation
as at the beginning –
Since Christmas 1922 – went without
food
Since Christmas 1926 – went without food
and a few drops of
water –
Since September 1927 – even went
without this
She had little or no sleep
She still remained active and
healthy –
Why should we offer Mass
We publically honor God – Our Father
(it would be most ungrateful for a
son to ignore their Father)
(we publically honor others –
president, kings - men of honor)
To be good and holy - we need God –
holiness is God's creation in us –
not our own!
We need to realize we need God.
The Mass is a sign of our love for God!
The Mass is our dependence on God!
God is our friend –
Married people need to express their
love for each other –
God gives us the Mass to show
love to Him and receive
Him –
God has made us His children and
brothers to each other –
The Mass helps us lead good
lives if we are sincere
in our worship.
If we do not perform acts of worship
to God – we will gradually
get away from God –
forget about God –
grow indifferent to God –
We need to remind ourselves
that faith is a gift from
God and pray for an increase
of the faith, hope and love we
received in baptism!
God dwells in our graced baptized
soul –
God wants to work in us
transforming us –
we must be open to God!
The Holy Spirit wants to make us holy –
The Mass is a sacrament –
Christ works in us in the Mass –
We receive grace to grow
in friendship with God –
God expects us to have a
holy interior disposition –
Mass gives us the liturgy of the Word
Mass gives us the liturgy of the Eucharist
The Word and the Eucharist is
the Bread of Life!
We give ourselves to God in
sacrifice in the Mass –
united to the sacrifice
of Jesus –
This is an act of great love –
L
ET US LOVE THE TWO HEARTS OF JESUS AND MARYHE GAVE HIMSELF TO US ON THE CROSS. HE GIVES HIMSELF TO US IN THE EUCHARIST.
How great was the act of love, God gave to this world, when He gave Himself and died on the cross. He gives Himself to us this day in the Holy Eucharist.
The greatest commandment is that we must love God with our whole heart, our whole soul, and our whole being. This is a commandment. If we are to enter heaven, we must follow the commandments. They are commands given by God for us to follow.
The greatest act we can do on this earth is an act of loving God. The reason for our existence is to love God. In the sacrament of His greatest love, He gives Himself to us. This is an act of love on His part. We are called to respond by giving ourselves in love to Him.
This is the purpose of the Holy Eucharist: to unite in such oneness with our Holy, Loving God. Our all consuming passion should be that of loving God. How many go to the Eucharist with the sole purpose of giving great love to God? He wants us to love Him. He wants souls to tell Him how much they truly love Him. This is the most intimate act of love when Jesus gives Himself-Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity to man. If it is such an act of love, how are we receiving Him in Communion? We should beg God, in this most intimate union with Him, to help us to love Him with greatest love.
Jesus is a Person. He wants our love. The Holy Spirit wants such intimacy with us. Our Father wants us to love Him. In the Eucharist, we unite with God. In this intimate act of uniting with our beloved God, with Divinity, we must pour out our love to God. We must pour out our heart to the most adorable Heart of Jesus. Jesus is so unjustly treated by many of His beloved souls He loves so much. Let us help make reparation to the Almighty God by loving God with our whole heart, our whole soul, and our whole being in the sacrament of His greatest love. This is the Gift of Himself.
Think of how it is to love someone and give your all for that person, to pour out your heart to him or her and then be treated with coldness and neglect. It hurts our heart so much more when we deeply love someone to be rejected by that person. Jesus loves us with the deepest love. We cannot fully comprehend this love. Let us love Him with the deepest love. Let us love Mary and her Immaculate Heart. Let us love her as the Mother of God. Let us love her as the virgin who bore the Son of God. May we, in the reception of the Eucharist pour out our love to Him, to this adorable Heart. May we pour out our love to His Holy Mother.
Mary said at Fatima that Jesus wants His Heart venerated next to the heart of His Mother. Let us love these two Hearts as we receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist. Then we are so deeply united with God. We see Their two Hearts surrounded with thorns for the injustices against Their Hearts. Let us help make reparation daily as we receive Him in the Eucharist. This is a special time to help make reparation to Their wounded Hearts.
Let us remember how He poured His love out to us on the cross and how He pours out His love to us now when He gives us Himself in the Eucharist, the Eucharist which contains His Heart of burning love. His Heart was pierced with a lance. Her heart was invisibly pierced with a sword. As the wounds in Their Hearts are deep, so too is Their love so deep.
He does not want "surface love". He wants hearts filled with deep burning love.

R. We help in the work of
redemption being
united to Christ with a
proper disposition at Mass –
We offer ourselves to God
in the Mass –
In sin we say "no" to God –
We turn away from God –
Mortal sin is serious –
(destroys God's life in us)
Venial sin is less serious –
(failure to love, but
not complete turning away)
We can see in the relationship
in a marriage –
where a man is unkind to his wife –
where he is completely unfaithful to his wife –
Sin can be doing something we
shouldn't
Sin can be not doing
something we should –
If we make up our mind to sin and
something prevents us –
we still sin –
We are liars if we say we love
God and love
serious sin – like a man
who says he loves his
wife but continues
to remain unfaithful with
another person –
God has given us Confession –
Temptations are not sin until
we accept it –
ie. bad thoughts are not sins
until we decide we want
to keep them!
The Commandments of God are
for our good and our happiness –
like instructions for a car –
The Ten Commandments
1. I, the Lord, am your God. You shall not have other gods besides me.
2. You shall not take the name of the Lord, your God, in vain.
3. Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day.
4. Honor your father and your mother.
5. You shall not kill.
6. You shall not commit adultery.
7. You shall not steal.
8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
9. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.
10. You shall not covet anything that belongs to your neighbor.
R. Think of the mess we would
be in – if all society
broke the 10 Commandments –
Matthew 22: 36-40
'Master, which is the greatest commandment of the Law?' Jesus said to him, 'You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second resembles it: You must love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments hang the whole Law, and the Prophets too.'
R. God commands us to love –
The only answer to the world –
to unity –
to growth is
to love!!
God is love!
God created us to love!
Most evils we suffer are
due to our failure to
not keep Christ's commandments.
Prayer from the heart is essential
if we are to find God –
We can't make friends with
people without communication,
talking to them –
working on problems and moving
ahead in the relationship –
We need communication with
God – if we want friendship
with God –
We must spend time talking to God!
R. A little boy was drawing a picture
in art class –The teacher asked –"What are you drawing?"He said, "A picture of God."She said, "Nobody has seen God
and knows what He really
looks like."The little boy said, "When I get done you
will know."
