Prayer for Grace for our Country
Dear Father united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ, with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary, through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us. We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray for our families, the priests, the Church and the world. In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our new president as he takes office. We pray that we are united as one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.

R. Sibling Rivalry
We see the way Cain acted toward his
brother Abel.
God commands us to love Him and
to love our brothers –
We see the way the two brothers
acted in the prodigal son. The brother
who squandered his father's fortune
was reduced to eating with the pigs
and came back to his father.
His father welcomed him with open
arms.
We see how much the heavenly Father loves us.
We also see in the parable about workers, some
came early in the day, some came very late
and the Father gave them the same
pay.
When we go to heaven we will be
wrapped in the Father's love.
There will not be rivalry, jealousy,
envy in heaven. We will be filled!!
We see the rivalry between Esau
and Jacob – Jacob stole the blessing
from Esau and Rebekah helped.
God brought good – even though this
happened – but Jacob sure suffered
with Leah and Rachel.
Jacob was forced to work 7 years
to marry Rachel. Laban tricked
Jacob into marrying Leah.
Then from this family look how Joseph's
brothers – sons of Leah and Jacob
treated Joseph.
Look at the Plan of God in choosing
Joseph and how Joseph's love for
God (even though Joseph suffered) brought
about good for all.
Jacob learned patience – he worked
7 years, then forced to work another
7 years for Rachel.
We are taught about sibling rivalry
and the parents tricks here.
God called Jacob and Jacob had
a hard time dealing with tricks
and oppositions to God's
plan. Jacob learned to trust in God
or his life would have been a bigger
trial. Jacob trusted in God.
We can look at our family tree
and see what happened in our
family. My brother will be 80 years
old October 14th. He is Fr. Joe Robinson –
We have been collecting pictures of
all of us he married – including myself –
and I will be married 48 years this year.
We collected all the pictures of the
children and grandchildren and Fr. Joe
baptized all these. I see how Fr. Joe
blessed the Shepherds of Christ and the Family
of God with over 50 years as a priest.
Think of what a great gift God has
blessed us with the life of one priest.
All the lives they touch – how self-less
they are in giving and giving and how
they give us the Mass, the sacraments,
how a priest brings unity to so many
lives – giving to families in the
Church.
God has called us to get people
together to pray for the priests, the Church
and the world. Think of the opportunity
God has given all of us to circulate
Fr. Joe's books to priests all over the
world on Sundays and how many families
in the United States and priests have been
touched with 17,000,000 Priestly Newsletters
and over 400,000 of Fr. Joe's homily books.
Think of how Jacob was being
called by God to father Joseph and
how he was forced to work to
bring all the work Joseph did
for Egypt –
What goes around comes around. God
calls us to help in salvation history –
He called Fr. Carter and he helped me
and founded the Shepherds of Christ and he
was told by Jesus to start these prayer
chapters all over the world.
God gives us our lives and calls
us – people can contact us by phone,
by internet, by e-mail – at our
centers, but we have to be motivated
to do what God has called us to do
and do it – To go out and work as
God has called us to for the love of
Jesus.
The servants and handmaids are
married to Jesus. We are to help
strengthen the Father's family –
by doing what He asks of us in
our lives.
Song: A Priest is a Gift from God
Song: The China Song
Song: Glory, Glory, Glory Lord
Song: A Song from Jesus
R. We have a free will – it is the wild
card in all of us. We have a duty,
a responsibility, an accountability
to God – to love and serve Him and
others.
Our life has a purpose. Our
actions have consequences for or
against building the Kingdom of God.
Laban tricked Jacob. Laban was
selfish – he selfishly wanted Jacob
for his personal use, to do work
for him.
Jacob was called to do work for
God.
Laban's desires for Jacob was for
his every day, earthy, matters.
Laban tricked Jacob and forced
Jacob to live by his trickery
and nasty rules.
Eventually Jacob left Laban
and Jacob wrestled with God.
Genesis 32: 27-29
He said, "Let me go, for day is breaking." Jacob replied, "I will not let you go unless you bless me." The other said, "What is your name?" "Jacob," he replied. He said, "No longer are you to be called Jacob, but Israel since you have shown your strength against God and men and have prevailed."
R. Jacob had great faith –
Jacob did God's will and suffered –
he cared for his family and took
them away as God told him to do.
Jacob and how he taught
Joseph and Joseph carried out
the faith he learned when he
went to Egypt.
God calls us all day to do actions
in our lives because we are always
helping and witnessing to God when we
live under God's will. Our lives
will have consequences for others'
lives. We can't do what we want
and follow the plan of God.
We will be judged by God on our
actions.
Even though Laban tricked Jacob –
he had a goal and he kept trying
to do God's plan and it was so
important to salvation history.
God calls us – we know He has
a special calling for us. We need
to do the work God wants from
us and live to be more and more
intimately united to God so He
dwells in us and gives us
the strength we need to do His will.
We were uniquely made by God for a
purpose. Out of all the possible
souls He could have made He
made us.
He chose us. God the Father
is our Father and He has a plan
for us. Why wouldn't we serve
and love Him and be His instruments
in the world.
We belong to God. God is the Creator
we are the creatures. We do not chart
an isolated path here. Our lives
have consequences in the lives of
others, of future generations.
Selfishness and opposing God's will
leads to consequences in our lives
where it allows satan to put us
in a situation we
feel pressured to give into that is
further taking us away from God's will.
Co-operation – doing God's will in love
like Mary –
We need to stay united with God
and pray about what we are to
do because our lives are important
to God and our actions have
consequences in salvation history.
We are to be witnesses for God.
God calls us in baptism – we were
chosen by God. We are members of the
mystical body of Christ because of
baptism. We are commissioned to
spread the Good News – We are
to continue the work Christ began.
We are to work for Christ. We are
to be witnesses of love before others,
who we live with, who we talk to,
we were chosen by Christ – to answer
the phone calls in love to spread
the Good News – to spread this
mission of Shepherds of Christ.
We have this mission to
continue what Christ did on
the earth – We are to tell people
about the Blue Books and how
Jesus loves them – That is why
Mary appeared in Clearwater –
We are to help in the work of salvation –
for ourselves, helping to lead others
to eternal life.
COOPERATION – To obey God's
will and work with others –
COOPERATION –
We are to help make this a better
world and the world of the future
after us. We are to recognize this
is justice – people did this for
us – that went before us –
Our mission begins with loving God,
loving our brothers we live with –
loving God's will –
In baptism we are commissioned
to go out and spread the
Good News –
We are to be witnesses of God's
love and spread the Good News
of Jesus Christ
We are to do this NOW and HERE!

7 levels of commitment of the Shepherds of Christ
There are Associates who gather and pray at least once monthly as a group and also help with donations to support the Shepherds of Christ priestly newsletter. They can be tremendously involved. They give as they feel they are able.
Apostles are members who have restricted their apostolic activity to the Shepherds of Christ. They literally act as a body of lay people who have given their lives in their present living situation to do all that they can to bring about the Reign of the Sacred Heart and triumph of Mary's Immaculate Heart.
Prayer Apostles are often shut-ins, some are able to go to church and pray. They spend much of their lives praying for the Movement.
Apostles of the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus are those who spend at least two separate hours weekly before the Blessed Sacrament praying for the following:
For the spread of the devotion to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary culminating in the reign of the Sacred Heart and the triumph of the Immaculate Heart.
For the Pope.
For all bishops of the world.
For all priests.
For all sisters and brothers in the religious life.
For all members of the Shepherds of Christ Movement, and for the spread of this Movement to the world.
For all members of the Catholic Church.
For all members of the human family.
For all souls in purgatory.
In that hour before the Eucharist they spend part of the time praying the Shepherds of Christ prayers and the rosary. The time can be spent with spouse or others, but most spend the time alone before the Eucharist.
Handmaids of the Good Shepherd are young and older women who have given their lives in community primarily to pray for the Shepherds of Christ Movement and intentions and to be special spouses of Jesus. Some have more duties than others. All have the primary duty of prayer and the desire to be a special spouse of Our Lord. One of the functions of the handmaids is their involvement in praying for and helping to circulate the priestly newsletter. The handmaids are not members of a religious order.
Servants of the Good Shepherd are men who live in community with a lifestyle and purpose similar to that of the handmaids. The servants are not members of a religious order.
We wish to form a special congregation of priests who will realize their great oneness with Christ. They will be consecrated deeply to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary and support the Shepherds of Christ Movement as holy priests.

The Birth of the Full Ministries
of the Shepherds of Christ
"I wish to share with you part of a message which Jesus gave us on October 13, 1994. The message tells us about the expansion of the Shepherds of Christ movement:
'My beloved priest-companion, today I come to you with another mission. I am asking you to establish Shepherds of Christ Ministries. At My request you have already begun the priestly newsletter, "Shepherds of Christ", and the prayer chapters, Shepherds of Christ Associates...
'I am giving you this message on this day, the 77th Anniversary of the Great Apparition at Fatima, because of the close connection between the Shepherds of Christ movement and the Fatima message. The Fatima message is centered in devotion to My Heart and My Mother's Heart, especially in consecration to Our Hearts. Shepherds of Christ Ministries is also centered in devotion to Our Hearts. I will use Shepherds of Christ Ministries as a great instrument in helping to bring about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart and the reign of My Sacred Heart. When this occurs, My Church and the world will be experiencing the great era of peace promised by My Mother at Fatima.
'Today, then, October 13, 1994, the 77th Anniversary of the Great Apparition at Fatima, marks the birth of Shepherds of Christ Ministries. I pour forth the great love of My Sacred Heart to all. I am Jesus, Chief Shepherd of the flock.'
"Jesus has told us that Shepherds of Christ Ministries includes: the priestly newsletter, Shepherds of Christ, Shepherds of Christ Associates prayer chapters, various publications, including books, whatever else Our Lord directs us to undertake.
"As members of Shepherds of Christ Associates, you are an extremely important part of Shepherds of Christ Ministries. You have given great joy to the Heart of Jesus by responding to His invitation to become members of Shepherds of Christ Associates. As He draws you closer to His Heart and to His Mother's Heart as Associates members, He will fill you with an ever-increasing experience of His love, peace, and joy."
- From In the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, Newsletter of Shepherds of Christ Associates
by Fr. Edward J. Carter S.J., Volume 1, No. 1, 1995. p. 2.

Prayer for Union with Jesus
Come to me, Lord, and possess my soul. Come into my heart and permeate my soul. Help me to sit in silence with You and let You work in my heart.
I am Yours to possess. I am Yours to use. I want to be selfless and only exist in You. Help me to spoon out all that is me and be an empty vessel ready to be filled by You. Help me to die to myself and live only for You. Use me as You will. Let me never draw my attention back to myself. I only want to operate as You do, dwelling within me.
I am Yours, Lord. I want to have my life in You. I want to do the will of the Father. Give me the strength to put aside the world and let You operate my very being. Help me to act as You desire. Strengthen me against the distractions of the devil to take me from Your work.
When I worry, I have taken my focus off of You and placed it on myself. Help me not to give in to the promptings of others to change what in my heart You are making very clear to me. I worship You, I adore You and I love You. Come and dwell in me now.
-God's Blue Book, January 17, 1994
R. Our Mission in Life
Matthew 22: 34-40
‘Master, which is the greatest commandment of the Law?’ Jesus said to him, ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second resembles it: You must love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments hang the whole Law, and the Prophets too.’

Guiding Light homily series — Reflect on the Word — Cycle B The Word leaves an impression on our souls. In my thoughts and reflections are born a more tangible understanding of these eternal concepts presented in the Gospels and the readings. Anyone can read a sentence, but not anyone can absorb it's true meaning. Truth, in this day and age, is almost a matter of opinion or individual entitlement. We believe that Christ's truth is our Roman Catholic Church. We, as priests, champion it's teachings; we are ambassadors for the Pope and Christ to those faces looking at us. We are the light by which our congregation reads to reflect upon real truth and we do it hand in hand. $15 |
Guiding Light homily series — Steadfast to the Son — Cycle A The sunflower is a great example of how we should be steadfastly guided by light. What a powerful thought that this exceptional plant is not stuck in one pose day in and day out, yet adaptable and magnetized to the sun. We feel the same about our Son. Our heads turns to face Christ as each day presents its challenges to find light. We join together like plants in a field and soak up the Son through the pulpit. We are a warm circle of strength using the wind of our breath to carry our priests' words, Christ's words, to new rich soil. $15 |
Guiding Light — Focusing on the Word — Cycle B At times we may feel that our path to Christ is a bit "out of focus". Like the disciples in the Book of Mark, this ordinary life clouds our vision of Christ's Divinity. We may doubt the practicality or possibility of applying His teachings and example to our modern life. Cycle B's homilies are a "guiding light" to help us realize Jesus' Messianic greatness and His promise of better things to come. $15 |
Guiding Light — Feed My Soul — Cycle C In a world rapidly advancing and encouraging personal gain, we are faced with modern problems. There is a challenge to find time in our busy schedules for Sunday Mass or a family meal. We are able to research, shop, bank and even work without hearing one human voice. It is no wonder that we may often feel disconnected and famished at our week's end. In Fr. Joe's third book of homilies from Cycle C, we are reminded of the charity that Christ intended us to show each other. We have a calling to turn the other cheek and be the Good Samaritan to others. We are rewarded with the Father's kingdom and love when we are not worthy. We are not left alone or hungry. $15 |

Priestly Newsletter — 2000 #1 — CD. — Christ is Our Strength — Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. read it the year he died. It is so beautiful. "This brief passage contains one of the greatest lessons of the spiritual life. As we progress along our spiritual journey, we become increasingly aware of how weak we are in our—selves, but how strong we are in Christ. To experience our weakness involves suffering. The degree and kind of suffering can vary. The suffering can include the experience of the classical dark night of the spirit as described by St. John of the Cross. One of the main purposes of the dark night is to make a person keenly aware of his or her helplessness without God." quote by Fr. Carter from the newsletter $10 |
