Prayer for Grace for our Country
Dear Father
united to Jesus in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacrifice of
Calvary sacramentally made present, celebrated around the world, in
the Holy Spirit. We offer up all we do united to the Mass. We unite
in one mind and one heart as members of the mystical body of Christ,
with Christ our head in the pure and holy Hearts of Jesus and Mary,
through the powerful intercession of Mary with all the angels and
saints and souls in purgatory, and we beg for the saving grace, for our country, the United States. Please help us.
We further pray for unity to always do the will of God in love. We
spread the Blood of Jesus on the leaders and people of the United
States and cast the devil into hell. We consecrate our country to
the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart and all our dioceses, and
beg for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. God help us. We pray
for our families, the priests, the Church and the world.
In the Name of Jesus please hear us, we pray. We pray for our
new president as he takes office. We pray that we are united as
one nation under God to work together in love as God wants.

1 Thessalonians 4: 1-8
Finally,
brothers, we urge you and appeal to you in
the
Lord Jesus;
we instructed you how to live in the way
that pleases God, and you are so living; but
make more progress still. You are well aware
of the instructions we gave you on the
authority of the
Lord Jesus.
God wills you all to be holy. He wants you
to keep away from sexual immorality, and
each one of you to know how to control his
body in a way that is holy and honourable,
not giving way to selfish
lust like
the nations who do not acknowledge God. He
wants nobody at all ever to
sin by
taking advantage of a brother in these
matters; the
Lord always
pays back sins of that sort, as we told you
before emphatically. God called us to be
holy, not to be immoral; in other words,
anyone who rejects this is rejecting not
human authority, but God, who gives you his
Holy Spirit.
3rd Sunday of Advent
Zephaniah 3: 14-18
Shout for joy, daughter of Zion,
Israel, shout aloud!
Rejoice, exult with all your heart,
daughter of Jerusalem!
Yahweh has repealed your sentence;
he has turned your enemy away.
Yahweh is king among you, Israel,
you have nothing more to fear.
When that Day comes,
the message for Jerusalem will be:
Zion, have no fear,
do not let your hands fall limp.
Yahweh your God is there with you,
the warrior–Saviour.
He will rejoice over you with happy song,
he will renew you by his love,
he will dance with shouts of joy for you,
as on a day of festival.
Philippians 4: 4-7
Always be joyful,
then, in the Lord; I repeat, be joyful. Let your good sense
be obvious to everybody. The Lord is near. Never worry about
anything; but tell God all your desires of every kind in
prayer and petition shot through with gratitude, and the
peace of God which is beyond our understanding will guard
your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
Luke 3: 10-18
When all the people asked him, 'What
must we do, then?' he answered, 'Anyone who has two tunics
must share with the one who has none, and anyone with
something to eat must do the same.' There were tax
collectors, too, who came for baptism, and these said to
him, 'Master, what must we do?' He said to them, 'Exact no
more than the appointed rate.' Some soldiers asked him in
their turn, 'What about us? What must we do?' He said to
them, 'No intimidation! No extortion! Be content with your
pay!'
A feeling of expectancy had grown among
the people, who were beginning to wonder whether John might
be the Christ, so John declared before them all, 'I baptise
you with water, but someone is coming, who is more powerful
than me, and I am not fit to undo the strap of his sandals;
he will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His
winnowing-fan is in his hand, to clear his threshing-floor
and to gather the wheat into his barn; but the chaff he will
burn in a fire that will never go out.' And he proclaimed
the good news to the people with many other exhortations
too.

INTRODUCTION: Our
theme for today, as it often is, is summed up in the Psalm
Refrain: “Cry out with joy and gladness, for among you is
the great and holy one of Israel.” Our first reading from
the prophet Zephaniah goes back about 700 years before
Christ. The Assyrians were the dominant force in the Middle
East and were an unusually warlike, brutal people. Their
capital city was in northern Iraq near modern day Mosul.
Our first reading comes from a time shortly after the
Assyrians wiped out the northern part of Israel. They
brought severe suffering upon the southern part of Israel
too, the area around Jerusalem, but they did not conquer
it. Jerusalem would still stand for another 130 years until
the Babylonians conquered it. The Babylonian empire, as you
might remember, was centered around Baghdad and it was after
they destroyed the Assyrian empire that they moved on to
conquer many other nations in the Middle East which included
Judah and Jerusalem. (It sounds very much like what’s
going on over there today, doesn’t it?) Meanwhile back to
Zephaniah 700 years before Christ after the northern part of
Israel had been devastated. Jerusalem was struggling to
recover from the near destruction they had suffered, but
they didn’t learn their lesson. Idolatry and immorality
were rampant among the Jews. The king of Judah himself
offered his own son as a human sacrifice to the pagan gods.
Most of Zephaniah’s book records his efforts to correct
abuses among God’s people. His book ends on a note of hope,
however, as he addresses those who are faithful to God. He
tells them to rejoice and assures them God will rejoice and
sing too because of his love for them and for all the
blessings that will be theirs. Can any of us begin to
imagine what it would sound like to hear God singing?
There is something we
should be aware of when we hear the second reading too. St.
Paul is sitting in prison somewhere when he wrote this, and
prisons in those days were really bad. Today’s prisons
would look like a luxury hotel by comparison. Yet Paul can
be joyful and he is able to encourage the Philippians to
have no anxiety and to rejoice always.
HOMILY: In
the days when we had Mass in Latin, today was known
as Gaudete Sunday. That means “Be Joyful.” The
liturgy continues to communicate that theme of joy
with rose colored vestments and readings telling us
to rejoice.
So on this Gaudete
Sunday I thought you would enjoy a couple of laughs.
First a riddle for
you: Why is Christmas just like a day at the
office? Answer: You do all the work, and the guy
that wears that big fancy suit gets all the credit.
A couple were
always fascinated by old churches and wherever they
traveled if they came near an old church they had to
stop and look inside. Once in a small town church
they saw an oddly shaped bell and asked the person
cleaning the church what the strange bell was used
for. They were told “That bell is reserved for
calamities, like fires, floods, or a visit from the
archbishop.”
Lastly, if
laughter really were the best medicine, hospitals
would have found a way to charge us for it long
ago.
Laughter fades
away, but there is something that lasts and sustains
us all the more: joy. Joy goes deeper than just
being funny. We heard the prophet in today’s first
reading telling God's people, during an especially
difficult time in their history, to “sing for joy.”
They should sing for joy not because things were
wonderful, but because God was in their midst. And
we heard Paul, in prison, tell the Philippians to
rejoice always. The scriptures give us different
ideas about joy than our culture does. Our society
seems to tell us joy stems from what we have. The
scriptures tell us our joy comes from what we have
(for the Lord is in your midst as Zephaniah tells
us) but it also comes from what we will have
in some future time, something we can trust in
because God is faithful to his promises.
In the few minutes
I have, let me name some of the things that keep us
from having joy: * Feeling sorry for oneself. *
Constantly putting other people down to make
ourselves look smarter or better. * Putting
ourselves down all the time. Because we’re human we
all make mistakes or do wrong and there are
healthy ways of dealing with guilty or shame, but
constantly beating ourselves up is not one of
them. * Holding on to anger and resentment. It
only eats us up inside and does not produce joy. We
have to forgive. * Thinking that having more things
is going to make us happy. It satisfies us only
momentarily. * And then there’s fear and worry.
Paul says have no anxiety at all. That might sound
impossible but there are so many things that cause
us anxiety, which we can do nothing about and we
have to leave in God's hands.
If self pity,
guilt, unforgiveness, anger, resentment, fear, and
worry work against our having joy, then what will
lead to joy? We must decide to be joyful. Paul
tells the Philippians “rejoice” as if it is
something for them to choose to do rather than it
being something that just happens to them. I think
it was Abraham Lincoln who said most people are
about as happy as they make up their minds to be.
Dr. Hans Selye, the scientist who developed and
researched the concept of stress, would agree. He
said: it’s generally not the things outside
of us that create stress for us, but it’s the way
we respond to these things. Next we need to be
good and to do good. Otherwise we won’t feel good
about ourselves. The people in today’s gospel ask
the Baptist, “what should we do?” John gave
them a few specific ideas. All we have to do is
read the gospels or the 10 Commandments and we’ll
get the idea that there’s more to a good life
than just to say, “I believe!” Lastly, I think
gratitude is the final key to unlock the way to
joy. And again, being grateful is an intentional
thing, it is an attitude we must develop. St. Paul
said: “in everything, by prayer and petition, with
thanksgiving, make your requests known to
God.” A heart that is ungrateful is not happy.
This is not all that could be said about joy, but
it’s probably enough for us to think about today.
My closing words
for today are don’t make yourselves so anxious this
season that you lose the joy that can be found only
in knowing Jesus’ love. “The Lord, your God, is in
your midst.”

Adult-Children
R. Research shows in dysfunctional homes –
the parent may be the alcoholic – workaholic,
but, there is a merry-go-round of denial
going on, effecting every person involved.
Parents, older siblings are to help
younger children by being loving – being
an example, resolving conflicts – being
there satisfying deep needs of younger
children –
So much damage is done to the whole family
of a person forcing dysfunction, negativism,
unfairness, lack of responsibility and
lack of accountability on others –
Alcoholics effects all the relationships
in the family. Sex abuse and incest
effects all the people in the family –
Family hidden secrets acted out and
kept secret can hurt people life long –
A person is to grow in relationships – be
what God intended them to be.
A person who grew up in a dysfunctional
incestual family has problems. They are
an adult-child. If the abuse was done
to them and kept hidden it is even
worse.
An angry father that hurts the whole
family with his negativity and verbal
abuse can hurt children for many years –
and they need recovery.
Children have needs to learn to love,
give and take, resolve conflicts,
learn boundaries, learn trust and
love – develop self-esteem –
and, of course, spiritual matters
What kind of lessons were taught
in an incestual home kept secret?
What kind of lessons were taught with
the angry father or mother, who ran the place
like an army – fighting with the other spouse?
Parents are teachers – They teach children about
power, give and take, arguing, problem solving,
fairness, getting their needs met.
Adult-children have lost big
blocks of time in their development stages
and if they decide to usurp power of other
innocent others because they want
power and won't give in – there can
be so many challenges, constant conflict –
while they act out crisis after crisis they
create to run all the shots and
get power.
It can be a game, to never be involved
in what they need to recover from,
because they don't want to change,
they only want to keep acting out daily
conflict, crisis and survival tactics
for their wounded shut down life –
Children can grow up from these situations
with low self esteem which leads to depression,
isolation and seeing themselves as unloved.
They may not be able to communicate and
as an adult-child afraid of authority
figures because of an abusive parent –
So they can vow to have power over
everyone – even God! How can
a person grow without putting
God over them in His rightful place –
Was the child respected and did they
learn self-respect by how they were
treated – Were parents fair? Did parents
love and respect each other –
All of this contributes to how a
child likes himself, respects himself,
feels good inside.
A child disrespected by angry parents,
sexually abused, physically abused
or emotionally abused is going
to grow up with negative thinking
going on –
Children in incestual, dysfunctional or
alcoholic homes can miss big chunks of
development in relationships
when they did not grow in relationships
because of what was going on in the
dysfunctional home – So they grow up
and they have not learned social skills they
need for intimate relationships – they can
be bitter and angry for being robbed of
being a spontaneous child learning
from well adjusted parents and they
can have a severe survival mode
they refuse to change because they
don't trust authority – even God
as an authority and they decide
"no one will ever tell me what to do".
Bitter adult-children that have not gone
through recovery for this damage may
seek power over others and their
first rule to themselves is
"Never lose control".
Don't let others act spontaneous
around you or be themselves –
Fear can envelope them if the others are
confident, spontaneous – if they are not controlling them
and so to be in control they quickly push them down,
through abuse because they live to be on top.
That is a real dilemma to have
an adult-child without healing with a lot of
power – they will probably use it for their
own personal power and put
others under their feet through
some force –
The Adult-Child is
sometimes isolated and afraid of
people and authority figures –
Well the question is if they act-out –
Do they want to be up and always right
while they must have others under
their feet –
Adult-children do not want any
personal criticism – so therefore
If they are majorly acting-out – hurting
others – they can expect to not be
corrected and they can, if they have
power, try to keep demanding whatever
their behavior is – that it is
not challenged –
They may seek to get more and more
power and control and try
to make even the authority weak
and under their feet –
The biggest fear in them is somebody
would ever get out from under
them so they push them down
to control and stop others
acting as they are supposed to
under God.
Sheila said – It's like a person
that blocks in football –
they won't let the player out –
They block them.
People who are adult-children without
recovery can become addicted
to excitement so they can feel.
Some childhoods were so traumatic
a person never allows themselves
to feel –
They are shut down –
So they start numbing out –
A healthy person lives in the moment.
Song: Live This Day
From a Lenten Homily, March 24, 2000
Live in the Moment
Today’s Gospel in its story certainly points ahead to Jesus in His Passion
and death. And as we read passages such as this during the Lenten season, we
are reminded once again that the Church in her Liturgy of the Word gives us
an opportunity to undergo a purification, an ever deepening cleansing of
ourselves so that we may be a more fit instrument for receiving the great
graces which are to be given to us at the time of the Resurrection memorial
on Easter. And so all in all, Lent is a time of purification to prepare us
for ever-greater gifts of the Lord. It’s a time of self-discipline, a time
to renew our efforts to be self-disciplined in the service of the Lord.
Self-discipline is an aspect of purification. And I suggest that one of the
most difficult acts of self-discipline in the spiritual journey is to
concentrate on the present moment. We have a very strong tendency to
disregard the importance of the present moment by focusing in a wrong way on
the past or in a wrong way on the future. There are proper occasions for
thinking of the past and the future. For example, we have to learn from the
past and we have to prepare for the future, but our great emphasis has to be
upon the present. There is a Latin axiom which says, age quod agis, age
quod agis, which means: do what you are doing, concentrate on the
present. And of course we are familiar with that term in the history of
spirituality: the sacrament of the present moment. And so the discipline of
Lent certainly encourages us to include in a deeper self-discipline a
greater determination to get as much as we can out of the present moment.
People with a terminal illness have an opportunity as they prepare for death
for increased prayer, contrition, love of God. However, some are taken very,
very quickly. But for those who have the opportunity of knowing with some
certainty the time of their death, I’m sure as they look back on their
lives, they are saddened by the many times they did not use time and
opportunities for the service of the Lord properly, and are overjoyed at
those times in which they did use the present opportunity properly. A great
means we have of living in the present properly is a greater focus upon our
Lord. For if I have that awareness of the fact I am united with Jesus here and now, why should I be concerned so much
about the future or the past? Yes, a great help in living in the present and
deriving all the good we can from it for ourselves and others is an ever
greater focus upon Jesus, because the more I focus upon Jesus and the more I
live with Him in the present moment, the more I am satisfied with the present
moment. And so let us in our Lenten activity resolve to grow in that
self-discipline - which is very difficult at times - to really live in the
presence with the fullness of our being as much as is possible, with the help
of God’s grace. Now is the day of salvation. Now is the day of salvation.
end of Father Carter's homily
R. The feelings cause them so much
pain from the traumatic childhood
they have shut down feelings –
Stuffed in a can with a tight lid
and refuse to let anything out –
so they develop addictions to
deal with the pain and stuffed
feelings –
They are in denial –
Adult-children have low self-
esteem – and so they can
challenge to make themselves
look over – above – powerful
Adult-children can get triggered
very easy to the smallest
thing because they are
reacting to the pain –
unhealed – in their past –
Some people just make crisis
after crisis just to get
feelings and their adrenalin
pumping – since they are shut-
down and numb –
How is your personal happiness
in living and dealing in
relationships with others
in the moment?
A person's father may have told them
"You will never do anything great"
"You are a failure"
So they have low self esteem
and these tapes take center stage
in their hearts –
How do you think?
Are you positive?
Do you work in relationships in love?
Do you have destructive relationships?
FAILURE
↔ Low Self
Esteem
We are making choices of success
or failure all day long –
every minute of the day –
by what we tell ourselves!
Some people were criticized by
parents – so they do it to
themselves
"Oh you will never be any good"
Compulsive Behaviors
hurrying – not prudent –
paying bills on the edge –
Doing everything on the edge to
pump adrenalin
always busy when they are
supposed to be doing
something else –
because nobody tells them what to do –
Need to Control
Relationship Problems
How is the same dance you do –
Every Saturday when people were
home and fought in your house
Every Sunday – when people
fought about Church –
Look at the dance you do –
compulsive, addictive, patterned
destructive behavior –
Survival modes from the past –
Look at the dance you force others
to do – so you can have your
survival mode!
People can eat too much
People can starve themselves
What about work –
Are you a workaholic?
Are you doing God's will?
A person who is an adult-child
may never relax and
enjoy themselves
have fun –
A person may be so numbed out
they have
Brown - outs
Balance
Healthy decision making
People who never follow through
need to quit it –
If we have fear or shame
resentment, anger
we get stuck
A person may live their whole life
surviving as an adult - child
hurting others
fighting to be right
full of anger, resentment and rage
full of shame
Why do we keep the tapes our parents
told us that were negative
in our head?
Like an onion
with layers and layers of
sadness, arguing etc.
What about a mummy –
layers and layers of baggage!
low self esteem
pain
anger
fear
pride
Take off the old baggage layers
don't add more
Be loving
Matthew 22:
36-40
‘Master, which is the greatest commandment of the Law?’ Jesus said to
him, ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart,
with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and
the first commandment. The second resembles it: You must love your
neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments hang the whole
Law, and the Prophets too.’
R. A person may be so stuck –
they never make a decision
because they need their father's
approval
Low self - esteem
Shut down – doesn't feel

Delay it –
Delay it –
Delay it –
Living is being in touch
with our heart!!

Scriptural Reflections
In all
this Mary offers an example. Selfishness was totally foreign to
her. She did not belong to herself. She belonged to God. She was
not closed in upon herself. She was completely open to God. When
God spoke, she listened. When God pointed the way, she followed.
She realized that life is not a process a person masters by
carefully mapping out one's own self-conceived plans of
conquest, but a mystery to be gradually experienced by being
open to God's personal and loving guidance.
Selfishness, then, did not close Mary off from God's call.
Neither did fear. God asked her to assume a tremendous
responsibility. He asked her to be the Mother of Jesus. Mary did
not engage in a process of false humility and say that such a
great role was above her. She did not say that she did not have
the proper qualifications for this awesome mission. Briefly, she
did not waste time looking at herself, making pleas that she was
not worthy, telling the angel he had better go look for someone
else. No, Mary did not look at herself. Her gaze was absorbed in
God. She fully realized that whatever God asked of her, His
grace would accomplish. She fully realized that although she
herself had to cooperate, this work was much more God's than
hers.
Mary's words, then, truly sum up what is the authentic Christian
response at any point of life, in any kind of situation: "I am
the handmaid of the Lord," said Mary, "let what you have said be
done to me".

Luke 1: 46-55
And Mary said:
My soul proclaims
the greatness of the Lord
and my spirit rejoices
in God my Saviour;
because he has looked upon
the humiliation of his servant.
Yes, from now onwards
all generations will call me blessed,
for the Almighty
has done great things for me.
Holy is his name,
and his faithful love extends age after age
to those who fear him.
He has used the power of his arm,
he has routed the arrogant of heart.
He has pulled down princes
from their thrones
and raised high the lowly.
He has filled the starving with good things,
sent the rich away empty.
He has come to the help
of Israel his servant,
mindful of his faithful love
—according to the promise
he made to our ancestors—
of his mercy to Abraham
and to his descendants for ever.

R.
Dear Jesus, Give me Your hand to write this book
for you. I am your servant. I want to be Your hand
to this world. If you, Lord Jesus, would write a
book, what would you say?
Jesus:
My dear children,
Today I come to
deliver a message to each of you. I want to tell you
of each person's dignity, of their beauty and their
self-worth. Each child is, oh, so uniquely precious
to My Most Sacred Heart. Each child is full of the
talents I have given to them. Each person is
divinely created by God and given all these gifts to
be happy and love one another.
The problem comes
when you feel you will be left out. That you will be
left by another who has trodden on you and will do
it again. I see you all as My most precious
children. I watch your every move and know all pain
and anguish in your heart. My Heart aches, you have
insecure feelings about yourself. I came to this
earth I died for you. I felt cold, hungry, lonely on
this earth. You need not worry that no one knows the
pain and anguish in your heart. God created you with
such special gifts and talents. It is important for
you to raise above your wound and forgive those who
hurt you.
You need only turn
your will and your life over to Me and I will guide
you in all your ways. I have all the Power. Many are
not of My ways. The key to life is to recognize your
faults, but still know you are this precious gift of
My Father a gift to this world. This world is in
need of your strength. Running yourself down,
blaming others hurting them can cause you misery and
pain. At this very moment, you are the precious
creation of God!! You must operate with Me in your
heart.
You need not run
yourself down. I am with you every day guiding your
ways, lest your foot stumble and you lose your way.
You will not wander far from your path if every day
you keep bringing your focus back to Me. If you dare
let Me be at the helm, if you dare to really let Me
run your life, I will do with you such wonders that
you yourself would be amazed. But you will know with
such ease when you did these things that you did not
do them alone. You will know My power, moving the
mountain, My power chipping at the stone, My power
working on your hardest problem and you will be set
free.
Oh yes, you will
be set free and know a serenity that only comes from
letting go and letting Me run your life. To you, My
child, I have given all that is good. I made you My
holy soldier, My warrior in a world of pain and
hatred. You are the light that shines in the
darkness, you are the coat to a cold child, you are
the smile that warms a troubled and lonely heart.
You are the comfort for everyone you meet, because
My most precious Heart powers you, smiles through
you, understands and loves through you.
Love your fellows
for Me. There are so many troubled hearts that need
to know My love. I can love through you if you let
Me, I can be their friend through you if you let Me.
I am He who comforts you and you are he who comforts
them. My power is endless, it never runs out, there
is not a power failure EVER. In your darkest hour,
My light shines in the darkness and I say to you,
"Oh blessed of My Father, look at yourself with awe,
you are My creation, you are indeed so precious to
Me, you are My light to this world, you are My hands
and My feet and most of all My Heart."
Oh, you are My
loving Heart, to those who are bowed down, to those
who are lost in the darkness, you carry My smile and
wear My armor in a world that is trying to tear one
another down with hate and ugliness. There is
gentleness, there is love, there is hope in you, if
you open yourself up to Me. Be My knight to the
world, wear My armor. I am your God and I will
protect you from the darkness. Plug into My power,
be not afraid, I go before you always and you can
rest in My arms when you feel weary. You can put
your head in My lap and weep, you will know, I am
truly with you and you are My light to this world. I
created you so special - to cast out fear in the
darkness, to clothe the naked, to give hope to the
oppressed, to be as I live in you and love through
you and you are My smile and I touch My hurting ones
through your love.
You are he who
loves this world. You must stay plugged into My
power-source. This world is
hungry for My love. It needs My love, I give to them
through you. I am your God and I made you as a gift
to the world. You are filled.
Focus on Me and
your life will be abundant and whole, joy
in suffering, freedom — but you can take the knocks
because you will know you do not go it alone, but
with Me. I love you My precious child.

Memory losses because of emotional,

There can be problems if children saw parents abused.
Feeling of Powerlessness
Disassociating Disorder
How was your childhood –
was it traumatic?
was it a war zone?
Was it a prison?
R.
Childhood can be a play-ground
or a prison!!
A damaged childhood must
have recovery –
Children are not at fault
for abuse done by
parents –
A person to get better must
admit the truth about
their traumatic childhoods –
not close the door on it –
Write a letter to Jesus –
this helps bring out what happened.

Prayer for Healing
the Family Tree
by Rev. John H. Hampsch, C.M.F.
Heavenly Father, I come before you as your child,
in great need of your help.
I have physical health needs, emotional needs,
spiritual needs, and interpersonal needs.
Many of my problems have been caused
by my own failures, neglect and sinfulness,
for which I humbly beg your forgiveness, Lord.
But I also ask you to forgive the sins of my ancestors
whose failures have left their effects on me
in the form of unwanted tendencies,
behavior patterns, and defects in body, mind and spirit.
Heal me, Lord, of all these disorders. – pause –
With your help I sincerely forgive everyone,
especially living or dead members of my family tree,
who have directly offended me or my loved ones in any way,
or those whose sins have resulted
in our present sufferings and disorders.
In the name of your divine Son Jesus,
and in the power of the Holy Spirit, I ask you, Father,
o deliver me and my entire family tree
from the influence of the evil one. – pause –
Free all living and deceased members of my family tree,
including those in adoptive relationships,
and those in extended family relationships,
from every contaminating form of bondage.
By your loving concern for us, heavenly Father,
and by the shed blood of your Precious Son Jesus,
I beg you to extend your blessing to me
and all my living and deceased relatives.
Heal every negative effect transmitted
through all past generations,
and prevent such negative effects
in future generations of my family tree. – pause –
I symbolically place the cross of Jesus
over the head of each person in my family tree,
and between each generation.
I ask you to let the cleansing blood of Jesus
purify the bloodlines in my family lineage.
Set your protective angels to encamp around us,
and permit Archangel Raphael, the patron of healing,
to administer your divine healing power to all of us,
even in areas of genetic disability.
Give special power to our family members’ guardian angels
to heal protect, guide and encourage each of us in all our needs.
Let your healing power be released at this very moment,
and let it continue as long as your sovereignty permits.
In our family tree, Lord, replace all bondage
with a holy bonding in family love.
And let there be an ever deeper bonding with you, Lord,
by the Holy Spirit, to your Son Jesus.
Let the family of the Holy Trinity pervade our family
with its tender, warm, loving presence,
so that our family may recognize
and manifest that love in all our relationships.
All of our unknown needs we include with this petition
that we pray in Jesus’ precious name.
Amen, Amen and Amen.
Prayer for Intergenerational Healing
based upon a prayer and the writings of Dr. Kenneth McAll
In
the name of Jesus, and by his authority,
I come against any and every curse
that may have been directed to any member of our family.
I call down the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ
and I break any curse on my family or person
in the Holy name of Jesus.
I forgive and bless those who sent them.
Lord bless our enemies—do so by sending
your Holy Spirit to lead them to repentance,
to healing and to freedom.
I now break in the name of Jesus Christ
all psychic heredity and any demonic hold
upon my family line as a result of the
disobedience of any of my ancestors.
I declare all of this to be absolutely null and void.
In the Holy Name of Jesus.
In the Holy Name of Jesus.
In the Holy Name of Jesus.
In
the Name of Jesus Christ,
I renounce all the work of evil,
together with any occult practices of my ancestors.
I subscribe myself to Jesus Christ,
my Lord and Savior, both now and forever.

innocent others
Using Control to keep others
under you –
Anger is a deadly sin –
You can't nurse anger
against your neighbor –
need to work it out –
pray for grace
clean it out in help
and not use it on innocent

Balance
A person who is an adult-
child can lose big blocks
of time – zoning-out
brown - outs –
numbing out –
give yourself the right to zone-out
When a person is sexually abused –
physically abused they can
disassociate from their body –
A person abused can be one way –
then come back from
disassociation and act totally
different
ZONING - OUT
A person can be addicted to survival mode
24 / 7
acting out –
creating crisis
unpredictability
roller coaster –
Addictions are survival skills
If a memory starts to come up
they can suppress it
immediately because they
are in denial –
disassociated with truth
Numbing out!
Disassociating from Trauma
A person can abuse another than
smile and laugh – sad
Memory loss – people abused
may have memory loss –
if something starts to come
up they can make a crisis
for a diversion
There are stuffed feelings
that need to come up –
People who were abused
seriously need recovery –
We must have the courage to change
Let feelings come up –
Tell the truth!
A person can run negative
tapes their whole life –
Seek drama and negative attention –
What is happening NOW
Negative tapes
Negative Self - talk
MUST change
if we want to change
Living in the Moment!!
Be aware of your thoughts
not like a monkey that
just jumps from
branch to branch
We must change our self-talk
to the positive –
to the happy –
to the success – not failure
to light – not darkness
We have a free will –
We control our self - talk
Discipline your thoughts
Dad and mom taught us by
their example
Keep what is good
Get rid of bad habits
God the Father is the Perfect Father
Mary is the perfect Mother –
R. An adult-child can hate authority –
Push that person down –
Afraid if they get stronger
what could happen?
A person afraid of authority –
misusing power over
the person in authority –
may be afraid if the
person in authority gets
free – they may not like it
We must feel good about our self.
Matthew 22:
36-40
‘Master, which is the greatest commandment of the Law?’ Jesus said to
him, ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart,
with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and
the first commandment. The second resembles it: You must love your
neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments hang the whole
Law, and the Prophets too.’
