R. And so here we are, and we have this sharing in His life, but if we go to heaven and we receive that reward, we will have that fullness of life. And so here we are, we are working so that we hope that we will get this reward, so that we will be able to have this relationship with God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit in the beatific vision, where we will know God, and where we will have this wonderful love for all eternity. But we have to be open and realize — it says in this message, that we don't know it all, because when we are going around and thinking that we know it all, then we close the door.
So I want to tell you a little story. There was a man that was coming and he was going to a particular house, and in the particular house, he had been instructed by a large donor, that he should bring to them a million dollars. And so he went to the door and he knocked on the door, and the people would not open their door. And he says, "Well, I don't know what to do, because I was told to give these people a million" and he continued to knock, and he continued to knock and he continued to knock, and the man just stayed in his house with the door closed, and he even turned the lights out.
Now that's not saying that we should open up the door to everyone that is out there, because in this world there are people that would do us harm. But the point is this, and the point is, the point that God wishes to make in this story, that He has told me to tell — that it's far more than a million dollars that God is going to give to us, when we open our hearts. And we let Him fill us with His love, and with His life, with knowledge of Himself, revealing more to us the inner life of the Trinity.
And the prideful man stays inside and he says 'I've got it made.' He knows if he really looks back clearly to his own life, which is what we are suppose to do — is to take this fearless inventory to look back, to really see — have we been people of joy? Have we been people that have walked with Jesus? Is Jesus before us, and behind us, and above us? Or are we holding on to something that was a bag of coal back then, and telling ourselves as it becomes bigger as we go through life's journey, telling ourselves, that under all circumstances, the world should be molded likened to our bag of big black coal that is getting bigger and blacker. The fool says to God, "Come not to me for I have the victory in my closed heart and heart of stone."
And Jesus says to him "Fool! I spread My arms and taught you about giving. I gave to you My very life, and the Gospel to tell you of My ways and in your pride and desire to never change, you stayed as static as a concrete wall, that aged in the process, that grew not and became harder as the years went on, and pitted. And I opened to you the warmth of My Heart, the fire, the burning gift of My love. Little men you are, so weak in your ways, without wisdom, and so pompous to tell yourself, that you know it all, when I have opened up to you a treasure chest. The man at the door with a check for a million, and you say "come not to me, I will not answer my door, for my ways are set and my misery will be endless."
