Given September 8, 2010 - The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Darkness and light —
Time — we live in time
Marriage is based on the teaching of Jesus Christ
Marriage was instituted by God —
The beauty of the ocean
A busy city there below
Summer skies turn into fall —
The leaves fall from the trees
After a display of royal beauty
God the Creator
God the Creator of marriage —
If God can give us so much beauty
A baby, so sweet, little fingers and toes —
How beautiful the mystery of love —
God in His Plan for marriage and in friendship —
How do you describe the sun —
The beauteous ocean
A fall day with trees seen reflecting on waters
below —
How much more then, you must agree
is love, relationship, harmony,
fruitfulness — the mystery of that
which is eternal —
Oh men you see like blind men and a milky
glass —
The clouds are white —
The sky is blue
The stars are studded —
How beauteous far more love —
that God gives to us —
Why can't we be students to learn
from Him and learn to love —
Stiff-necked — Walls — Blindness
These are from men's hearts —
God is love —
Everlasting love —
God is faithful
God is trustworthy
God is forever
Man can make a mess and still want to
make others live by ice cold, unforgiving,
hateful hearts —
You would think he would want to learn from
God about eternal love —
What a fool to make an ice-cold-cube and
crawl in it and try to force others
to live by this coldness —
God is love —
Stubborn are many who 'hate' instead —
Who weave a rug of mud and doom —
Look into my heart —
Look into the Heart of Jesus —
Thirst after knowledge of His love for us —
Read the Blue Books and know His love for us —
Reality knowing God's Plan.
How soft is the snow God created —
How beautiful the snow covered earth, the
trees —
the beauty of a lantern in the night
where it is softly going toward
evening and the snow lightly falling
past its light —
How beauteous it is when one sees the
light of more and more what is real
as created by God where once he
was caught in his own blindness —
darkness by his own prideful
making —
One who is wise is open and ready to be taught —
seeking insight into the hidden mystery of God —
One who spends their life trying to teach
themselves they know it all —
misses the mystery of discovery and
insight into the hidden mystery of God —
Oh God let me know more and more of Your
perfect love — more and more about Your
interior life —
The Love of God —
Excerpt from Response to God's Love by Fr. Edward Carter, S.J.
The Mystery of
Christ and
... In reference to Christianity, God himself is the ultimate mystery. Radically, God is completely other and transcendent, hidden from man in his inner life, unless he chooses to reveal himself. Let us briefly look at this inner life of God.
The Father, in a perfect act of self-expression, in a perfect act of knowing, generates his son. The Son, the Word, is, then, the immanent expression of God's fullness, the reflection of the Father. Likewise, from all eternity, the Father and the Son bring forth the Holy Spirit in a perfect act of loving.
At the destined moment in human history, God's self-expression, the Word, immersed himself into man's world. God's inner self-expression now had also become God's outer self-expression. Consequently, the mystery of God becomes the mystery of Christ. In Christ, God tells us about himself, about his inner life, about his plan of creation and redemption. He tells us how Father, Son, and Holy Spirit desire to dwell within us in the most intimate fashion, how they wish to share with us their own life through grace. All this he has accomplished and does accomplish through Christ. St. Paul tells us: "I became a minister of this Church through the commission God gave me to preach among you his word in its fullness, that mystery hidden from ages and generations past but now revealed to his holy ones. God has willed to make known to them the glory beyond price which this mystery brings to the Gentiles—the mystery of Christ in you, your hope of glory. This is the Christ we proclaim while we admonish all men and teach them in the full measure of wisdom, hoping to make every man complete in Christ" (Col 1:25-28).
Some days are not as beautiful as others —
the beauty of a warm day and the ocean waves —
the blue sky —
The white of snow - falling in the near
night against a lantern and
the covered ground - the snow
coated trees —
But there is the barrenness of winter
the gray skies —
the coldness —
a really bleak day
Is not life like this, the death, the
resurrection —
the ups, the downs —
but I know Him —
the Victory is won
the rock rolled away from the tomb —
But reality is God's reality —
Snow white Christmas' are memories
we have deep in our hearts —
But it is love in our heart that brings
us joy —
Love for our Creator —
Love for His Goodness
I see the night just beginning — not yet
dark, but the lights show through
the windows —
So it was October 31, 1991 — darkness
against light because Jesus spoke
to me that early evening while
the tricker-treaters went about their way —
Light for me against darkness
Early morning when Jesus woke me and gave
me His letters of love in God's Blue Books —
Letters of love for all to know reality —
The love of His Heart —
His Intimate Love — Reality
Reality — The Love of the Father, Son and
Holy Spirit for us —
Reality — The Love of the 2 Hearts for us —
Reality — The foreverness of eternity —
Can you really not take the leap to
trust God —
to love God as He commands us to —
to love our neighbors as ourselves —
When love is according to the Father's will
it lasts forever —
Love — real love as God desires —
never dies —
We choose to not love when we do not
LOVE because we have a free will to love or not love.
We are to be just and
Give God what is His due as well
as give others what is their due —
Save yourself for what?
When God commands us to love Him and
love others as ourselves —
for our eternal reward —
At any moment a cancer can come
and snatch us from our life
here below —
Life is promised to no man —
God calls us to love so we will be
more and more one in Him —
Jealousy, envy, superiority, anger,
etc. — come from giving into
our wounded human nature —
Live - Life —
Don't give into the impurities that
rob us of life —
I never thought Fr. Carter would die and
He died in his body, but
he moved on —
Jesus said to me
"Would you have me deprive a soul
of his eternal reward"
Let's live now with what we are given —
Why live stubbornly and deprive
ourselves of instruction and
life —
God calls us to a vision of Himself —
Oh God open our eyes and our hearts to
not waste our precious gifts
in blackness and remorse —
bitterness and pain —
The Victory is won — Jesus rose from the dead
Song: A Song from Jesus
God calls us to love Him — NOW
to give ourselves to Him — Now
To serve Him now —
The devil doesn't want us to serve God —
The devil wants us to be unloving —
God gives us Himself in the Eucharist to
teach us about love
God has given us this Movement to teach
the world about the love of the
2 Hearts —
We have light today —
We have love today —
We have the gifts God gives us today —
God be before me —
beneath me —
in me
Help me to love, my God —
Help me to serve
Life is promised to no man —
God wants our gratitude for the gifts
He has given us —
It is God's love for us that keeps us in
existence —
The more we are likened to Christ —
the more we are great lovers —
A lover is being one likened to Christ —
Jesus endured pain out of love for us —
Jesus teaches us about service —
Jesus teaches us about suffering
Jesus teaches us about love —
Jesus teaches us about Victory!!
Christ died on the cross for our sins —
We can say 'yes' to darkness —
We can say 'yes' to slothfulness —
We will be accountable for our
days and what we did to do
or not do God's will —
We are to live to be what God wants us
to be —
We are created by God, He gives us a free will —
We can choose to turn away from Him —
It is like walking in a black night —
When we could have the light of day to guide us.
Song: I Am Your Sacred Heart
What is love?
God is love —
The more we are likened to Him —
The more we love —
Finally we will surrender —
When we die — we have to surrender —
What a pity to live your life to
hurt yourself, to punish others,
to be bitter and to think
God will reward this
The road was dark and the gray
skies pressed in
trees looked like dead men
standing —
Life is full of ups and downs,
but joy is found in seeking
God on dark days and
on sunny ones —
Love is learned by men who
are wise —
Those who close their hearts —
stay where they are —
man has a wounded human
nature —
He was created to know, love
and serve God —
From The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius,
by Louis J. Puhl, S.J. p. 12
23. FIRST PRINCIPLE AND FOUNDATION
Man is created to praise, reverence and serve God
our Lord, and by this means to save his soul.
Parents are the first teacher of
most children —
What they do that's not pure they teach
to their children —
God is the ultimate teacher —
It is awful to lose someone we are
close to and love, but we know
about eternal life —
We know that for those who love and
serve the Lord they live forever —
Life is short —
We have a job to do here for God
We keep growing older —
That alone can make someone angry —
This is God's world —
This is God's Plan —
If we are angry at God we need to look at that —
From The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius,
by Louis J. Puhl, S.J. p.1121. SPIRITUAL EXERCISES

We are children of God
That makes us happy —
Do to others what you
would have them do to you —
Treat others as you would
wish them to treat you —
That we remember to act
like children of God —
We pray for our Church that we love
To thank God for His
many gifts —
We are children of the Father's family
Sing: You Are the Voice
The snow was falling and it
was quickly collecting deeply on
the ground and the trees, bushes
and housetops —
People hurried in and out with many
things to do —
Thanksgiving was almost here
And now the day arrived —
There was a blizzard and many
had trouble making it to
family gatherings —
The day was a day of joy for
many who tried to have
a good dinner and lots of
fun —
But some knew the reality of
past memories and hurts —
struggling more than their
daily struggle for all the
years they had cheated
themselves of love —
What does it mean to live one's life
being a burden on others
punishing innocent others,
for living our lives angry
at others, who did nothing
to us — putting up walls like
a man building a room —
built of concrete —
God created us to love Him and to love
others as ourselves —
He commanded us to do this —
How can you disobey
commandments of God and
be happy — you can't
disobey commandments of God
being unloving to others and have
happiness —
Happiness is found in God —
God, the Creator, Commands us to love —
Driving ourselves away from God
by being angry, isolated
in unloving, punishing
ways —
makes us more angry
more miserable
more isolated
Hatred in our hearts — that grows
bigger — more isolating —
more angry as we spend
40, 50 years of unloving angry
Thanksgiving, Holidays —
punishing others for our anger
and blaming them —
It is addiction to anger —
It is from years of saying "no":
day after day to love —
to happiness — to working
in harmony with others —
It is us — we are miserable when we
live angry lives
Fr. Mike says a person controls to
reward or punish —
They control because they are weak
and they want power —
Then that puts them in a position
of using what is needed for operations
by punishing if they desire
rewarding if they desire —
It reminds me of the everlasting
reward God promises to
those who keep His commands
and serves Him
And the everlasting punishment
given to those who punish
others, act unloving —
not building the Kingdom —
not loving and serving and
sinning mortally —
We choose love with our free will —
Love is a choice —
We choose hatred
Anger at our brothers
some in the habit of provoking
others on purpose to punish —
withholding needs, things for
everyday operations for punishment
Fr. Mike said it is like this
A person who controls against God's Plan
Control for 2 reasons
To Reward To Punish
A person can punish to force their rules
of abuse —
The cycle of abuse is a constant
cycle one uses to provoke and
constantly provoke, punish,
be hard to get along with —
abusive, unloving ways they
choose to get a big explosion
or climax — as the tension
mounts from their abuses over
a period of time
The person who is the victim
if they stay —
is constantly going through the
angry person
punishing them with the
abuse cycle
Provoking |
↓ | |
Climax |
↓ |
It will never happen again False promises bring flowers |
They have the honeymoon cycle
so they can get back to the abuse cycle
they are angry
they need to act it out —
As they commit sin being unloving
and angry then —
the angry person, not taking
responsibility for their actions
becomes more angry
presses down in greater control
to
FORCE their dysfunctional
behavior
God is love
God is order
God forgives
God gives mercy to the contrite sinner —
A person caught in an abuse cycle
by one punishing and
holding out in control —
lives on a roller coaster
and the devil helps run the roller coaster
Emotions are controlled by the
angry person
Life becomes unmanageable
A person because of the past can
act out their childhood over
and over again on innocent others —
Unfinished business —
Like Jumping Beans inside that
wants resolve —
God created us in the image and likeness
of Jesus —
God is the Creator
We can grow in the virtues of faith,
hope and love as God intends
for His creatures —
We are called to community — working
with each other —
To model our relationships more and
more after the love of the Trinity
Perfect love
3 Persons — one God —
You can see how a person has built
real relationships in their lives
doing God's work and being nice —
loving — meek — like Jesus
When people get old and their bodies don't
work the same they can't control this and
if they are angry - can become rageful
I went to a funeral and the man had
several children
he died and his wife, children,
grandchildren, great grand-
children filled the Church —
a big church - on one side
He was always smiling, laughing,
talking about his Parish — he
was a parishioner 83 years —
he was baptized there —
that was the center of his joy —
His family cried —
children grew up loving
granddad —
He could have been selfish and angry
and a church full of people
would have not been touched by
his smile, his love, his giving —
Another policeman died — he grew up
on Carson across the street from
us — Church was a 4 minute
walk —
The funeral parlor was so crowded
my sister and I waited outside
for over 45 minutes in the heat —
His family so big and not only looked
like him, but loved like him
People from everywhere he
helped
We have a choice to isolate and sit
on a pity pot and destroy work
others try to do to build a Kingdom
of God —
That is what satan does
He tempts people to be
unloving, angry —
then it turns into vices inside —
provoking to control —
to put your dark way of life
in by force —
Angry people want company —
to rule over others and force
them to live under their
anger —
The devil hates structure —
He doesn't want any love —
He doesn't want anybody:
Loving God
Loving others
Loving themselves —
They may have yielded to temptation
on the outside in the beginning —
now they don't have to see anything —
the darkness for why they
operate inside has turned
to bad habits or vices —
That is how they are
jealous eyes
hurting others who are working
together
punishing, provoking
envy — wishing harm to another
like Joseph's brothers were to him —
We are Jesus' brothers and how we
treat our brother is how we
treat Jesus —
we will be judged on how we
loved God
loved others
loved ourselves
It is the greatest commandment
of God
When one is isolated and punishing people
on Thanksgiving —
it's not the pretty snow —
it's not the great day to be thankful —
It is a habit to be angry —
"I should be happy they say —
and its your fault" —
So they punish others —
I have been called by Jesus to pray
8 days a month —
singing
reading scripture
making reparation for our sins
This is the Plan of Jesus and Mary for the
Shepherds of Christ Movement
When we lived our lives without
making loving relationships and
loving ourselves and others —
We are disobeying the greatest
commandments
We are closed down when a person
lives an addiction to abusing
others, punishing others, hurting
others —
How do you want to be treated
by God —
Luke 6: 27-38
‘But I say this to you who are listening: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who treat you badly. To anyone who slaps you on one cheek, present the other cheek as well; to anyone who takes your cloak from you, do not refuse your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, and do not ask for your property back from someone who takes it. Treat others as you would like people to treat you. If you love those who love you, what credit can you expect? Even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit can you expect? For even sinners do that much. And if you lend to those from whom you hope to get money back, what credit can you expect? Even sinners lend to sinners to get back the same amount. Instead, love your enemies and do good to them, and lend without any hope of return. You will have a great reward, and you will be children of the Most High, for he himself is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked.
‘Be compassionate just as your Father is compassionate. Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and there will be gifts for you: a full measure, pressed down, shaken together, and overflowing, will be poured into your lap; because the standard you use will be the standard used for you.’
Heaven is a reward promised
to those who love and serve
the Lord
How can a person who sat punishing
people on Christmas for
12-13 years —
the day of Christ's birth
Celebration — your brother, Jesus
Jesus' birthday — expect to
go to the golden gate and get in
for loving —
There is eternal punishment
Hell
There is purgatory —
because the person was closed
in and
never opened
and never learned to love
There is the heavenly Church
for those who opened up
and lived their life
loving God
loving others
loving self —
They prepared for heaven
They deserve a reward —
a heavenly reward
Jesus will say to those who loved and served Him
and did the Father's will
"Well done good and faithful
servant — enter into
My Kingdom — I have
a place for you"
The angry person projects his
anger on others —
He doesn't feel good
He becomes blacker inside —
more shut down —
vices
He lacks hope and can be full of despair
Excerpt from Response in Christ by Fr. Edward J. Carter, S.J.
e) Relationship with Members of the Church
There is but one true Church of Christ. Yet this one Church has three different states of existence. There is the pilgrim Church, the Church of this world, composed of members who have received the grace of Christ and strive for its development. They have not yet obtained the goal of their efforts, as have the members of the heavenly Church, who enjoy God in eternal happiness. The Church suffering is an intermediate state of existence necessary for those who had not achieved the required purification as members of the pilgrim Church. Although there are these three phases of the Church’s existence, there is a profound union existing between all the members. All these members possess the same basic life of grace in Christ, and this common life establishes the most intimate bonds of love. In our preceding chapter, we discussed the pilgrim Church. Let us now consider the Church suffering and the heavenly Church.
The members of the Church suffering are those who have departed from this life in an incomplete state of Christian development. Their development is incomplete in the sense that grace has not fully taken possession of them, and, as a result, they are yet closed in upon themselves to a greater or lesser degree. They as yet cannot open themselves out in complete love to the Triune God in the beatific vision. They must undergo a further purification, a purification which could have been achieved upon earth with merit. Now the purification must be achieved with no merit attached. The pain of this purification is mixed with the certain expectation of achieving the vision of God. We can hasten the advent of this vision for this people by the offering of prayers and other good works. Scripture itself refers to our action on behalf of those in purgatory in Chapter 12 of the Second Book of Maccabees beginning with verse 38.
The members of the heavenly Church are those in whom the life of grace has taken full possession and has reached its completion in the life of glory. Faith now is unnecessary, as the light of glory gives the human intellect a new strength and capacity for seeing God face-to-face. While the Christian was a wayfarer, he received the imprint of the indwelling Trinity as he shared in God’s own life. Now in heaven that grace-life and possession of God reaches its completion—the absolute completion is not achieved, however, until the resurrection of the body. The divine persons give Themselves to the beatified in a profound union far surpassing that of the indwelling of the Trinity experienced here below.
This life of heaven is still the Christ-life, for just as we possess a share in Trinitarian life here below as mediated by Christ, and exercise this grace-life as structured by Him, so also in heaven is the mediation of Christ present. In the words of Rahner, "One always sees the Father through Jesus. Just as immediately as this, for the directness of the vision of God is not a denial of the mediatorship of Christ as man."14 And not only does the humanity of Christ unite the blessed to God, but also, in some way, to the whole of creation. This is merely a completion of what is begun here below, namely, the union with Christ in His humanity establishing the Christian in a special relationship with God, with other men, and with the whole of creation. We have a glimpse, therefore, of the fullness of life which members of the heavenly Church possess.
The heavenly Church, as St. Thomas says, is the true Church.15 The Church of this earth and the Church of purgatory are, each in its own way, reaching out in loving hope for the heavenly Jerusalem. Vatican II puts it very simply: "The Church, to which we are called in Christ Jesus, and in which we acquire sanctity through the grace of God, will attain her full perfection only in the glory of heaven."16
The members of the heavenly Church can help us in living our life of grace until we too share its fullness with them. Their power of intercession on our behalf is but another ramification of the communal aspect of Christianity. We are meant to help others grow in Christ. We, in turn, are intended by God to receive aid from others—yes, from members of the heavenly Church, as well as from those with whom we dwell here below.
Not only can we be aided by the saints’ intercession, but the example of the canonized saints can also be of great value to us. They have concretely proved that full holiness is possible. Such an inspiration is of real worth when we are tempted to think that Christian sanctity in its higher degrees is impossible of attainment. Moreover, the canonized saints, in their diversity, teach us that there are many authentic versions of Christian holiness. They can be innovators in showing us that there are numerous possibilities in assimilating the mystery of Christ, although the basic assimilation remains the same for all Christians of all times. In the opinion of Rahner this is one of the chief roles the canonized saints exert in the life of the Church.17

We need $13,000.00 for this work.
