Sorrowful Mysteries

The Agony in the Garden

1. Mark 14: 32-44

They came to a plot of land called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, ‘Stay here while I pray.’ Then he took Peter and James and John with him. And he began to feel terror and anguish. And he said to them, ‘My soul is sorrowful to the point of death. Wait here, and stay awake.’ And going on a little further he threw himself on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, this hour might pass him by. ‘Abba,  Father!’ he said, ‘For you everything is possible. Take this cup away from me. But let it be as you, not I, would have it.’ He came back and found them sleeping, and he said to Peter, ‘Simon, are you asleep? Had you not the strength to stay awake one hour? Stay awake and pray not to be put to the test. The spirit is willing enough, but human nature is weak.’ Again he went away and prayed, saying the same words. And once more he came back and found them sleeping, their eyes were so heavy; and they could find no answer for him. He came back a third time and said to them, ‘You can sleep on now and have your rest. It is all over. The hour has come. Now the Son of man is to be betrayed into the hands of sinners. Get up! Let us go! My betrayer is not far away.’

And at once, while he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, came up and with him a number of men armed with swords and clubs, sent by the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. Now the traitor had arranged a signal with them saying, ‘The one I kiss, he is the man. Arrest him, and see he is well guarded when you lead him away.’

2. We can see little things
    in our lives, how we may
    not want to do them,
    Jesus said “yes” for love
    of us, to His bitter Passion
    and Death.
3. Mary said “yes” to the 7
    Sorrows.
4. Jesus is the New Adam,
    Mary the New Eve.
    They always did the
    Father’s will in love.
5. Look at the consequences
    of Adam and Eve’s
    disobedience.
6. Sin not only hurts the
    sinner, but offends God
    and hurts others.
7. Jesus paid for our sin.
8. We need to ask for
    forgiveness of our sins.
9. In the Our Father it
    says "… forgive us our
    trespasses as we forgive
    those who trespass
    against us."
10. God has a Plan - we are
    to do His will, always, in
    love.
 

The Scourging at the Pillar

1. Matthew 27: 24-26

Then Pilate saw that he was making no impression, that in fact a riot was imminent. So he took some water, washed his hands in front of the crowd and said, ‘I am innocent of this man’s blood. It is your concern.’ And the people, every one of them, shouted back, ‘Let his blood be on us and on our children!’ Then he released Barabbas for them. After having Jesus scourged he handed him over to be crucified.

2. Love gives for the good
    of the other.
3. Jesus loved us to His
    death on the cross.
4. Jesus endured the bitter
    sufferings. Jesus showed
    us endurance.
5. We receive grace for
    living according to the
    Father's will.
6. A person can be so
    blind-sided, the same
    pride from youth, is the
    same pride to a person
    60, 70 if they refuse to try
    to heal from this bad habit.
7. Jesus shows us
    suffering and endurance.
    Jesus did this for love of
    us, to pay for our sins.
8. First to thine own self
    be true. Humility is a virtue,
    humility is truth, Mary
    and Jesus show us how
    we should live.
9. Jesus is absolute truth.
10. Jesus teaches us He
    must be first in our lives,
    Jesus loves us so much.
 

The Crowning with Thorns

1. Matthew 27: 27-31

Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus with them into the Praetorium and collected the whole cohort round him. And they stripped him and put a scarlet cloak round him, and having twisted some thorns into a crown they put this on his head and placed a reed in his right hand. To make fun of him they knelt to him saying, ‘Hail, king of the Jews!’ And they spat on him and took the reed and struck him on the head with it. And when they had finished making fun of him, they took off the cloak and dressed him in his own clothes and led him away to crucifixion.

2. Jesus' head was full of
    holes from the thorns.
    He was beaten raw at
    the pillar.
3. Envy and jealousy go
    together.
    A child can be jealous of
    their siblings and still
    jealous of others doing
    God's will, but a person
    living with jealousy in their
    own heart can project
    their jealousy on innocent,
    righteous others.
4. A step further in sin and
    wrath and darkness is the
    one who sees with jealous
    eyes, then does some
    malicious deed to punish
    the righteous person,
    because they think others
    looking good, brings them
    down, so they try to bring
    them down.
5. Jesus was crowned,
    and spit on, hit, mocked
    for these deadly sins
    some indulge in against
    their brothers in malice.
6. Jesus paid the price.
    Jesus: First to thine own
    self be true. You are here
    to grow in your image and
    likeness of God.
7. What an honor to be
    created in the image and
    likeness of God.
8. Two men looked out prison
    bars, one saw mud
    another stars.
9. Jesus shows us it's
    about dying to self and
    rising in Him
10. St. John the Baptist says
    He must increase, we
    must decrease.
 

The Carrying of the Cross

1. Matthew 27: 32-34

On their way out, they came across a man from Cyrene, called Simon, and enlisted him to carry his cross. When they had reached a place called Golgotha, that is, the place of the skull, they gave him wine to drink mixed with gall, which he tasted but refused to drink.

2. Jesus is love. Jesus
    says - love gives!!!
3. Jesus showed us - He
    gave - Jesus did it for love.
4. Love is kind, tender,
    enduring.
5. Hard hearts are full of
    anger, hatred, jealousy,
    envy, slothfulness, lust
    and gluttony.
6. Jesus endured, Jesus
    suffered,
    Jesus fell and got up.
7. There is so much
    suffering in the world
    and so much is wasted.
8. Do what God wants. The
    devil wants the person
    living to oppose what God
    wants.
    The devil wants a person
    to oppose God's will of
    obedience to Him and
    love.
9. Jesus: My Law is the Law.
    What is right is right; what
    is wrong is wrong.
    Jesus: Cast the devil out....
    lead us not into temptation,
    but deliver us from evil.
10. God wants us to deeply
    be united in Him in love.
    Love is beyond words.
    Love is the deepness we
    know in our hearts,
    beyond words.
    The Eucharist gives us
    such love deeply in our
    hearts.
    Make spiritual
    communions, all day,
    saying, "Jesus, I love You,
    so much.
    Thank You for suffering for
    my sins."
 

The Crucifixion

1. God will take us some
    day. God created us in the
    image and likeness of
    Jesus and He wants us in
    heaven, eternally.
2. Jesus gave His life for us.
    Jesus is our Savior.
3. Jesus paid the price for
    our sins.
    Jesus suffered for us to
    His death on the cross.
4. The Mass is the sacrifice
    of Calvary, sacramentally
    made present.
5. We live the life, death,
    and resurrection of Jesus
    in our lives.
6. We live the mystery of
    Christ in our lives, as
    members of the mystical
    body of Christ. This can
    bring down great grace.
7. We pay for our actions,
    for better or worse, but we
    will pay, God is all just.
8. Heaven is a reward
    promised to those who
    love and serve the Lord.
9. Sing: A Song from Jesus

10. God has given us so
    much. God has blessed us
    in the Shepherds of Christ.
    So many blessings for our
    lives.

Mary's Message
from the Rosary of August 27, 1996

Mary:  I stood beneath the cross of my Son, and my Heart was in such pain for I saw Him before my eyes. I saw Him covered with blood. I saw Him die. My Heart, my children, my Heart to watch my Son, but my Heart, my Heart, how I suffered for my little children of the world that give in to this world and give up the love of my Son. O my little children of light, I give you this message. Carry this light into the darkness for your Mother Mary, for I stood beneath the cross and I cried. I cried for the little ones. I cried for the young ones, the ones that do not care and will lose their souls. How do I make you see for you will not listen to me? What can I do? I come. I appear. I beg. I plead. I give you these gifts from my Son, and you reject me. I do not deliver messages very often anymore for I have been ignored. The message is the same. You do not read the messages I have given to you. Please help me. Help the little children. I appear. I appear. I appear, and I am ignored. I stood beneath the cross, and I cried. I cried, and my Heart was in such anguish for my little children, for I am searching for them this day as I searched for the Child Jesus. Please, please help me. I cannot hold back the hand of my Son any longer. I am Mary, your Mother. I ask you to help my children. You are my children of light. end of Mary's Message

R. Jesus gave us His Mother,
as He was dying, His
thoughts were of us.
Jesus died for us!!
Can we not die to our
selfish, willful ways, to be
like Jesus!!!!
