                                               The Mystery of Christ and
                                                     Christian Existence

...In reference to Christianity, God himself is the ultimate mystery. Radically, God is completely other and transcendent, hidden from man in his inner life, unless he chooses to reveal himself. Let us briefly look at this inner life of God.

       The Father, in a perfect act of self-expression, in a perfect act of knowing, generates his son. The Son, the Word, is, then, the immanent expression of God's fullness, the reflection of the Father. Likewise, from all eternity, the Father and the Son bring forth the Holy Spirit in a perfect act of loving.

       At the destined moment in human history, God's self-expression, the Word, immersed himself into man's world. God's inner self-expression now had also become God's outer self-expression. Consequently, the mystery of God becomes the mystery of Christ. In Christ, God tells us about himself, about his inner life, about his plan of creation and redemption. He tells us how Father, Son, and Holy Spirit desire to dwell within us in the most intimate fashion, how they wish to share with us their own life through grace. All this he has accomplished and does accomplish through Christ. St. Paul tells us: "I became a minister of this Church through the commission God gave me to preach among you his word in its fullness, that mystery hidden from ages and generations past but now revealed to his holy ones. God has willed to make known to them the glory beyond price which this mystery brings to the Gentiles—the mystery of Christ in you, your hope of glory. This is the Christ we proclaim while we admonish all men and teach them in the full measure of wisdom, hoping to make every man complete in Christ" (Col 1:25-28).

The visitation

Mary set out at that time and went as quickly as she could into the hill country to a town in Judah. She went into Zechariah’s house and greeted Elizabeth. Now it happened that as soon as Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the child leapt in her womb and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. She gave a loud cry and said, ‘Of all women you are the most blessed, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. Why should I be honoured with a visit from the mother of my Lord? Look, the moment your greeting reached my ears, the child in my womb leapt for joy. Yes, blessed is she who believed that the promise made her by the Lord would be fulfilled.’

Luke 2: 22-32

Jesus is presented in the Temple

And when the day came for them to be purified in keeping with the Law of Moses, they took him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord—observing what is written in the Law of the Lord: Every first–born male must be consecrated to the Lord—and also to offer in sacrifice, in accordance with what is prescribed in the Law of the Lord, a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons. Now in Jerusalem there was a man named Simeon. He was an upright and devout man; he looked forward to the restoration of Israel and the Holy Spirit rested on him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death until he had set eyes on the Christ of the Lord. Prompted by the Spirit he came to the Temple; and when the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for him what the Law required, he took him into his arms and blessed God; and he said:

The Nunc Dimittis

   Now, Master, you are letting
       your servant go in peace
   as you promised;
   for my eyes have seen the salvation
   which you have made ready
       in the sight of the nations;
   a light of revelation for the gentiles
   and glory for your people Israel.

    

Messenger:        In the finding of Jesus in the temple,
                                Jesus speaks of His Father.

     

Luke 2: 46-50

    It happened that, three days later, they found him in the Temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them, and asking them questions; and all those who heard him were astounded at his intelligence and his replies. They were overcome when they saw him, and his mother said to him, ‘My child, why have you done this to us? See how worried your father and I have been, looking for you.’ He replied, ‘Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?’ But they did not understand what he meant.

The Mount of Olives

He then left to make his way as usual to the Mount of Olives, with the disciples following. When he reached the place he said to them, ‘Pray not to be put to the test.’

    Then he withdrew from them, about a stone’s throw away, and knelt down and prayed. ‘Father,’ he said, ‘if you are willing, take this cup away from me. Nevertheless, let your will be done, not mine.’ Then an angel appeared to him, coming from heaven to give him strength. In his anguish he prayed even more earnestly, and his sweat fell to the ground like great drops of blood. When he rose from prayer he went to the disciples and found them sleeping for sheer grief. And he said to them, ‘Why are you asleep? Get up and pray not to be put to the test.’

The crucifixion

When they reached the place called The Skull, there they crucified him and the two criminals, one on his right, the other on his left. Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them; they do not know what they are doing.’ Then they cast lots to share out his clothing.

Jesus cried out in a loud voice saying, ‘Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.’ With these words he breathed his last.

                            specifically sorrowful mysteries of

John 8: 4-8

they said to Jesus, ‘Master, this woman was caught in the very act of committing adultery, and in the Law Moses has ordered us to stone women of this kind. What have you got to say?’ They asked him this as a test, looking for an accusation to use against him. But Jesus bent down and started writing on the ground with his finger. As they persisted with their question, he straightened up and said, ‘Let the one among you who is guiltless be the first to throw a stone at her.’ Then he bent down and continued writing on the ground.

  

Messenger:        We see Mary Magdalene beneath the
                                cross.

The woman who was a sinner

One of the Pharisees invited him to a meal. When he arrived at the Pharisee’s house and took his place at table, suddenly a woman came in, who had a bad name in the town. She had heard he was dining with the Pharisee and had brought with her an alabaster jar of ointment. She waited behind him at his feet, weeping, and her tears fell on his feet, and she wiped them away with her hair; then she covered his feet with kisses and anointed them with the ointment. 

    When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, ‘If this man were a prophet, he would know who this woman is and what sort of person it is who is touching him and what a bad name she has.’ Then Jesus took him up and said, ‘Simon, I have something to say to you.’ He replied, ‘Say on, Master.’ ‘There was once a creditor who had two men in his debt; one owed him five hundred denarii, the other fifty. They were unable to pay, so he let them both off. Which of them will love him more?’ Simon answered, ‘The one who was let off more, I suppose.’ Jesus said, ‘You are right.’ 

    Then he turned to the woman and said to Simon, ‘You see this woman? I came into your house, and you poured no water over my feet, but she has poured out her tears over my feet and wiped them away with her hair. You gave me no kiss, but she has been covering my feet with kisses ever since I came in. You did not anoint my head with oil, but she has anointed my feet with ointment. For this reason I tell you that her sins, many as they are, have been forgiven her, because she has shown such great love. It is someone who is forgiven little who shows little love.’ Then he said to her, ‘Your sins are forgiven.’ Those who were with him at table began to say to themselves, ‘Who is this man, that even forgives sins?’ But he said to the woman, ‘Your faith has saved you; go in peace.’

Appearances to the disciples

He said to them, ‘Peace be with you,’ and, after saying this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples were filled with joy at seeing the Lord, and he said to them again, ‘Peace be with you. 

    ‘As the Father sent me, 
    so am I sending you.’ 

After saying this he breathed on them and said: 

    Receive the Holy Spirit. 
    If you forgive anyone’s sins,
    they are forgiven; 
    if you retain anyone’s sins, 
    they are retained.

  

Luke 24: 46-49

and he said to them, ‘So it is written that the Christ would suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, and that, in his name, repentance for the forgiveness of sins would be preached to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses to this. 

    ‘And now I am sending upon you what the Father has promised. Stay in the city, then, until you are clothed with the power from on high.’

While at table with them, he had told them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait there for what the Father had promised. ‘It is’, he had said, ‘what you have heard me speak about: John baptised with water but, not many days from now, you are going to be baptised with the Holy Spirit.’

The ascension

Now having met together, they asked him, ‘Lord, has the time come for you to restore the kingdom to Israel?’ He replied, ‘It is not for you to know times or dates that the Father has decided by his own authority, but you will receive the power of the Holy Spirit which will come on you, and then you will be my witnesses not only in Jerusalem but throughout Judaea and Samaria, and indeed to earth’s remotest end.’ As he said this he was lifted up while they looked on, and a cloud took him from their sight.

  

Pentecost

When Pentecost day came round, they had all met together, when suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of a violent wind which filled the entire house in which they were sitting; and there appeared to them tongues as of fire; these separated and came to rest on the head of each of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak different languages as the Spirit gave them power to express themselves.

  

Messenger:        It is awesome to think about Jesus
                                becoming man and giving Himself
                                for our sins and dying on the cross.

                            We must get back to the basics.

                            Talking about how wonderful it is that
                                God remains with us this day in
                                the Eucharist.

                            God has given us a tremendous gift in
                                our priest and in the Mass, because
                                individuals have sinned,
                                it does not change the gift God
                                gives to us in the priest.

                            The Mass Book I in the beginning is full
                                of writings about the priest and the
                                gift we receive in the priest and
                                the Mass. I was given special revelations
                                at that time.

                            We as Christians should proclaim the
                                Good News that Jesus is Lord.

                                It is what we should proclaim with
                            joy.

                                We should spread the Good News. We
                            should not be shy as Catholics to tell
                            our brothers about the Eucharist.

                                The Blue Books are really important
                            to the Plan of the Father.

                                The Blue Books were given by Jesus.
                            I have heard Jesus speak and He proclaims
                            strongly. I am Jesus, the Son of God.
                            Now, I understand more how He talks
                            about this.

                            He speaks with authority.

                            His words are strong.

                            He speaks to the human race in the
                                Blue Book messages to deal with
                                the ills that are in the world.

                            Fr. Carter discerned very carefully all
                                the books published.

                            He hung on every word.

                            He said Rita—you do not know all
                                the theology in one Blue Book
                                sentence.

                            Every word had to be exactly right.
                            We are under attack now.

                            Who will the people follow.

Messenger:        Jesus says there will be one flock
                                and one shepherd.

                            Jesus says His own know Him. 
                                "The sheep follow because they 
                                know his voice." (John 10:4)

                            Many listen to many other voices
                                today and do not hear the
                                voice of Jesus.

                            God's Blue Books are very important
                            for this time.

                            Many may follow false Gods.

                            Some will deny the Divinity of Christ.

                            In praying the prayers

                                the Apostles Creed
                                the Our Father
                                the Glory Be
                                the Hail Mary

                            we will become deeper rooted in
                            our Christian faith.

                            Jesus told Fr. Carter to put the Litanies
                                in the Shepherds of Christ Prayers.

                                I see more and more how truly important
                            the litanies are.

                                I treasure them. We honor Mary in 
                            the litany to the Blessed Virgin. She is 
                            blasphemed in her virginity and as Mother
                            of God and her Immaculate Conception.
                            She is blasphemed by her children,
                            her images are made fun of,
                            many people teach their children
                            that Mary is not important.

                            The rosaries were called on the 5th of
                                each month because of the 5
                                Blasphemies against Mary.

                            Here is the experience I went
                                through December 5, 1996, 12
                                days before Mary appeared
                                on the building.

Excerpt from December 1, 1999

Messenger:  After she appeared for almost 2½ years on the 5ths, on the 2½ year anniversary Christ appeared at the point of death, His mouth open and moving. His jaw kept moving.

    I was horrified as I saw Him. I cried and could hardly stand it.

    What was so awful was here was my Jesus at the point of death on the cross. He looked as if He could do nothing because of His condition and His mouth kept going up and down, and no words came out.

    At the traditional rosary (I had done them now for 2½ years of 5ths) that evening at 6:30 with all the Shepherds of Christ people there, He said He moved His mouth because no one was listening.

    This was December 5, 1996, after all those visits of Mary on the 5ths when very few came and listened.

You are My main soldiers that I will send into the world to lead the strayed ones to My Heart. The days ahead will be dark days. You must come to My Heart and take shelter in My Heart. It is there that you will be rooted on a firm rock. For My Heart is your home. You will not know the terrors of the night if you stay rooted in My Heart. Division is blackness in the heart.                                 My songs are important to the

                                Oh My children, teach your
                            children to pray the rosary,

                                Your children will need this.
                            You will not listen. Your children
                            are being led astray, even in the
                            Catholic schools, some are being 
                            led away from their faith. Teachers 
                            can open doors in religion class. 
                            Many do not stress
                            the Eucharist and the gifts
                            given in the Church. Now satan
                            will work more than ever to
                            steal the hearts of the young that
                            are confused.

Teach the little ones. Pursue                             the Imprimatur for the Rosary                             Coloring books in all languages.                             Little ones need to pray the rosary.                             You need to pray the rosary as a family.

                            Oh My beloved Priests please help Me
                            with these materials to get the rosary
                            meditations focused on the Eucharist
                            and the love of Our two Hearts in the
                            hands of My little ones.

                                truth and will not be led astray
                                if you teach them as I have
                                directed. You must get the 
                                consecration cards in the hands
                                of the youth—in all languages.

                                Satan is spreading his errors
                            across the land and attacking
                            the priests and the Church.

                                I cry bloody tears for your
                            little ones.

                                Teach them the basics. Teach
                            them to love Me, I am the
                            Sacred Heart. Teach them to pray.

                            There are no Blue Books available.
                            Your church will suffer. I give these
                            messages to be heard. I give these
                            songs to teach the children.
                            Oh My little children of God,

                            You think you know it all.

                            the Father's will.
                            You cannot ignore the commandments.
                            You cannot change My Word.
                            You must teach your children
                            to love the commandments and
                            love My Word.

                                I feed you with Myself.

John 6: 35-59

Jesus answered them:

I am the bread of life.
No one who comes to me will ever hunger;
no one who believes in me will ever thirst.
But, as I have told you,
you can see me and still you do not believe.
Everyone whom the Father gives me
    will come to me;

anyone who comes to me,

not to do my own will,

and drink his blood,
you have no life in you.
Anyone who does eat my flesh
    and drink my blood
has eternal life,
and I shall raise that person up
    on the last day.
For my flesh is real food

As the living Father sent me

This is the bread

    Do we want peace? Then we must do as Mary said at Fatima: we must consecrate our hearts to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

    When the priest gives his heart to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, he becomes one in Their Hearts and he offers a most holy sacrifice. He becomes one in Their Hearts.

    When the people give their hearts to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, they become one in Their Hearts and they offer a most holy sacrifice.

    The priest and people are united in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, they become one with Christ in a very deep way and an immense amount of grace is poured out on the priest and people, the Church and the world.

    Do you want peace and unity in your parish? Do you want the most abundant grace to flow in the Mass? Then say this simple consecration before Mass with the people:

    Jesus and Mary, we love You. We give ourselves to You. We consecrate our hearts to Your Hearts. Dear Holy Spirit, enlighten and strengthen us. We give You ourselves.

    Do you want peace in your school? The Blessed Mother said at Fatima that until a sufficient number of people give their hearts to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, we will not have peace!

    How do we give our hearts to Jesus and Mary? Before school each day, say the small prayer to the Holy Spirit, the small consecration prayers to Jesus and Mary, and the morning offering (all available from Shepherds of Christ at no cost). Each time the children enter a classroom, say the consecration and Holy Spirit prayers. This binds the children in one heart with Jesus and Mary and there is less disharmony.

Contact Family

    Do you want peace in your family? Then you should do as our heavenly Mother said at Fatima. Mary said until a sufficient number of people consecrate their hearts to Jesus and Mary, we will not have peace.

    If we consecrate our hearts to Jesus and Mary, we are in one heart and there is not discord. We must do what Mary says if we want peace.

    Family Consecration: We consecrate our family to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary. We give ourselves to Them. We love You, Jesus. We love you, Mary. We give our hearts to You. We pray our family is a family of love, modeled after the Holy Family.

The Priestly Newsletter and Prayer Manual
are the heart of our material.

Jesus gave the following message on November 3, 1996:

Jesus:  It is through the holy priest celebrating the Mass and administering the sacraments that immense grace will be outpoured on the earth and the fire of my love will cover the earth. 

    The Newsletter for the Priests and the Prayer Manual are the heart of all materials distributed by the Shepherds of Christ Ministries.

    It is your responsibility as a Shepherd of Christ to contact the priest and tell them about this.  I am Jesus.  It is through the Shepherds of Christ Movement I will greatly renew the Church.  I am writing this newsletter through Fr. Carter to reach My beloved priests.  Your personal contact with the priest will encourage them to study the newsletter.

    My priests will be led to My Sacred Heart and the heart of My Mother through the Newsletter.  My people will be fed through My holy priests.

    This is an urgent message to you, My apostles.

                        Pray for grace to know more what transpires
                        and to unite so deeply to the Persons of the
                        Trinity at the Mass.

                            Oh God give us grace to experience the

                        words of the Mass as never before with
                        knowledge to appreciate more fully the
                        great event. Let us be so united to each
                        Person of the Trinity and to experience that
                        oneness with God in the Holy Sacrifice
                        of the Mass.

                            Oh my beloved ones, this is real.
                        God comes to us in the Mass. Listen to
                        the words in the Mass unite so deeply
                        with our God.

                            Know more about our beloved God in
                        this deep union with Him.

                            Open up your hearts and sing silently in

To whom it may concern,
  

    We circulate the Priestly Newsletter that goes to 75,000 priests in the world. This has been circulated since 1994 at the direction of Fr. Edward Carter, S.J. who had a doctorate in Theology and taught at Xavier University for over thirty years and author of eighteen books on the spiritual life and many other various publications.

    Our primary purpose is to circulate this Newsletter. We are now sending three years of Newsletters in a book of 342 pages to 75,000 priests in the United States and 90 foreign countries. A special Newsletter is enclosed with Father Carter's powerful writing on Grace (2001 issue 1). This writing is also available on tape and on disc.

    Our coequal purpose is to circulate prayer manuals Father Carter compiled for prayer chapters praying for the priests, the Church and
the world.

    All of our printing and postage costs so much money.

    We operate from the Virgin Mary building in Clearwater, Florida, pictures are enclosed. We use the building to spread materials and rosaries
to encourage people to pray for the priests, the Church and the world.

    We also have a church we received from the diocese in China, Indiana where we distribute our materials and pray before the Blessed Sacrament hourly and about two hours or more at 6:20 every day. Monthly adoration before the exposed Eucharist is held for our members for 48 hours on the 12th of each month to the 14th.

    We have a third center in Morrow, Ohio which is our communication center and mailing address.

    We circulate rosaries handmade to Catholic schools all over the United States and meditation sheets and consecration cards. We try to send scapulars too when we have them. We supply many beads to our rosary makers for this.

    We had difficulty all last summer securing funds for beads for our rosary makers. We were not able to send the 100,000 or more rosaries we usually send in October and May because of funds.

    We need $10,000 every month for the loan on the Virgin Mary building. We pray nightly there usually for about two hours or more at 6:20. We pray all through the day there, hourly, many times before the image. A big prayer meeting is held on the 5th of the month. Prayers are prayed for about 4 hours for the priests, the Church and the world. We broadcast to at least 8 states and all join in the prayers, including Morrow and China.

    We have a nursing home ministry and a prison ministry. We supply coloring books of the rosary mysteries and the Mass to children.

    We desperately need funds for the printing and the rosary making operation and all the postage. Bishops from foreign countries beg for rosaries and prayer sheets with the Shepherds of Christ Prayers.

    Now we are struggling with the monthly rent on the building and the postage for the foreign mailing of the Priestly Newsletter Book II.

    We always need money for the rosary beads for the schools and the Virgin Mary building.

    We also do a Holy Spirit Novena, but the little book has been out of print for some time because of lack of funds. Teachers like to use it for confirmation. We have prayer chapters using it daily all over the world.

    We want to circulate pictures of the crucifix and Mary's image on the building, we are unable to do this because of lack of funds. Enclosed are pictures of the crucifix and the Virgin Mary building.

    A very important part of our Movement is trying to get people to say the Morning Offering. Here is a card we distribute extensively, especially to Nursing Homes and school children.

    Can you help us. It is a real shame to not even have rent on the building Mary appears on.

    We need to tell the world about the Mass. This is another important aspect of our ministry. We have so many writings about the Mass. Mass Book I with the Imprimatur—and all Fr. Carter's writings and many other writings discerned by Fr Carter before his death. 

    It is a shame with all the money in the world not to be able to get the rosary beads to the rosary makers for school children who want them to pray the rosary.

    Our movement is trying to do what Our Lady told us to do at Fatima for peace in the world.
